Foxglove is a litigation and campaigning nonprofit that exists to make the use of technology fair. When governments and major tech companies use technology to abuse their power, we investigate, litigate and campaign to make it right. 

Big Tech companies have become so large – gobbling up a huge slice of the global marketplace and an unprecedented treasure hoard of user data – that they’re now more powerful than many states. The harmful effects of this concentration of power are everywhere – threats to our democracy, to our privacy, decimated workers’ rights and platforms rife with disinformation and hate. Governments are ploughing ahead with the use of algorithms and mass data systems to cut costs and increase efficiency often resulting in digital tools that entrench unfairness and leave the most vulnerable in society in crisis. All these problems are only getting worse with generative AI.

Foxglove works to bring the rule of law to the tech and AI giants who have upended our public square, workplaces, and social lives. We fight to reduce these anti-democratic behemoths’ size and power and we challenge them for abusing their workers. We also work to ensure public bodies use data and algorithms openly, fairly, and legally. 

We have a strong track record. We’ve launched landmark cases seeking structural changes to big tech’s harmful business models, supported 180+ Facebook content moderators fired for trying to form a union to sue Facebook and their outsourcing company, Sama – winning world-first judgements. We helped launch Africa’s first content moderators' union and are urging UK and EU regulators to halt Big Tech’s maneuvers to hoover up generative AI as it has the rest of our online world. We have forced disclosure of secret contracts between tech giants and the NHS, stopped a racist Home Office visa streaming algorithm, helped make grading fair for UK A level students, forced the government to pause the NHS Data Grab and challenged the Department of Work and Pension’s use of an algorithm unfairly flagging disabled people for benefit fraud investigations.

We are a small but growing team of lawyers, communications experts, and campaigners. Our work is global, and we work in partnership with lawyers, civil society, unions, and impacted people. 

About you

You are an experienced lawyer with a strong interest in using the law to hold governments and companies to account. You understand change doesn’t only take place within the walls of the court and that movements only succeed when they’re inclusive, making as many people as possible see they have a stake in these issues. You are a self-starter with the initiative to find opportunities, but the team-spiritedness to contribute to a shared goal and celebrate others’ work. The role

The post holder will be responsible for managing Foxglove’s legal team and legal work. You will drive forward a range of cases, including the development of case theories, investigating and collecting evidence, drafting correspondence, evidence and submissions. You will also be responsible for coordinating and managing external legal teams. UK and international travel is required. 

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Case Development and Management

• Listen to affected communities, unearth issues caused by tech injustice, and come up with innovative legal solutions.
• Build and maintain relationships with impacted community members, unions, other lawyers, experts, co-counsel, intervenors, civil society organisations and the public.
• Draft and comment on technical and legal documents and correspondence.
• Effectively work with the co-Executive Director to implement Foxglove’s legal strategy
• Manage and supervise the legal team.
• Lead evidence gathering.

Compliance and Risk Management 

• Manage court deadlines and time limits where applicable.
• Ensure regulatory compliance in all aspects of your work and our cases.
• Always maintain the strictest standards of client confidentiality. 
• Always maintain the strictest concern for and awareness of data protection and Foxglove policies.
• Keep up to date with the global litigation landscape concerning tech justice.

Other

• Help ensure communities’, workers’ and affected individual’s voices are heard in our campaigns, communications and advocacy work.
• Contribute to social media posts, blogs and op-eds. 
• Speak to the press about Foxglove’s cases as required. 
• Contribute to the development of materials for advocacy purposes including video or audio testimony, photographs etc.

Person Specification

Essential 

• A strong interest in using the law to hold government and companies to account. 
• Qualified lawyer in any jurisdiction with at least senior legal experience. 
• Ability to learn new areas of law quickly and develop new areas of work.
• Demonstrable knowledge in conduct of cases from initial advice through to trial.
• Relevant experience in analysing complex factual and legal situations and helping to advise clients in accordance with their aims.
• Experience in dealing sensitively with clients and experts. 
• Experience in working on complex matters, which require analysis of large amounts of documents and data.
• Excellent communication skills, demonstrated by ability to communicate accurately, clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing. 
• Excellent time management skills demonstrated by ability to organise and prioritise a complex workload and work to tight deadlines.

Length and Salary

The role is permanent. The annual salary is £70,075 per annum less any required deductions for income tax and national insurance. 

Our team works remotely, and this role can be based anywhere. We would prefer you to work within or close to UK office hours, but this is flexible. Our team travels every two months for team days and twice a year for team retreats. We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Marketing Manager to join our fantastic Communications and Engagement Team.

This role is a 12-month fixed term contract, working alongside the Head of Marketing and Marketing Officer on a part-time basis. The post holder will work 14 hours per week or two full days. We can be flexible on the days worked to accommodate the post-holder’s needs. The role and your key responsibilities
 

As a Senior Account Manager, your role is to line manage a regional team of Account Managers to maximise partner engagement and ensure we retain sky-high resubscription rates. You will manage your regional team’s objectives and regularly monitor and report on progress towards this. 

Alongside managing your team, you’ll work with a cohort of partner schools and colleges, facilitating an environment which identifies and promotes best practice across partners within your region. Using data analysis across schools and colleges within your region, you’ll identify trends and opportunities to further increase the use of Unifrog, maximising engagement and resubscription rates.
 

Your key responsibilities will include:

• Line manage a regional team of Account Managers to achieve their resubscription and engagement goals, delivering weekly check-ins with each team member to review their progress with partners.

• Run team meetings with your regional Account Management team to review key engagement strategies, objectives and share best practice.

• Meet weekly with the Head of Account Management, reporting on progress with your partners, and the progress of your regional team.

• Analyse regional engagement data to spot trends and work closely with the Head of Account Management to devise and implement strategies to improve on any areas of low engagement.

• Work with Senior Account Managers, Head of Account Management and other Unifrog colleagues, to design and implement projects and processes across the Account Management team, that help deliver against our organisation’s objectives and mission.

• Work with a region of schools and colleges with the responsibility of an Account Manager, providing resources and strategies which maximise staff and student engagement with Unifrog, and identifying and promoting best practice across partner schools.

• Deliver targeted training sessions to staff within our partner schools and colleges via workshops and presentations, delivered remotely or in person.

• Work closely with your regional Area Manager to improve Unifrog engagement and maintain a sky high resubscription rate.

Overall Purpose

To work as part of the Grants & Programmes Team to support organisations applying for funding each year through the Foundations grants programme.  The post holder manages important relationships with potential and current grantees, building trust and an understanding of their purpose and aims and supporting them to submit appropriate and high-quality applications for funding against the funds criteria and Foundation’s priorities. Responsibilities

To undertake all tasks associated with BLCF's grantmaking functions including carry out assessments of grants applications and work alongside donors on donor-directed funds as required. 

Work alongside members of the team to maximize use of our in-house CRM database for monitoring and impact reporting, working with the Head of Impact. 

Provide grant-making support and advise to potential and existing grantees on our funds and programmes, to ensure open and transparent access to our programmes and proactively looking to address inequality and fairer access to opportunities the Foundation offers. 

Process all grant applications within agreed timelines, working alongside Fund Leads to review and assess grant applications effectively. 

Co-lead delivery of fund programmes, contributing to their strategic direction / donor engagement.

Carry out other associated duties, which may arise, develop, or be assigned, in line with the scale and general nature of the post.

Performance & Monitoring

Track and review monitoring submissions, working with the Grants Officers to send out reminders for monitoring forms to be returned where required, and sign off monitoring forms from applicants.

Production of delivery/donor reports as required to funders, as requested by Senior Leadership Team.

Ensure appropriate levels of training are maintained and a good working understanding of the policies and procedures of the Foundation. 

Relationship Building

Listen, learn and share the needs of communities back into the work of the Foundation to ensure we are always 'needs led'.

Make regular visits to funded projects as required.

The Volunteer Relationship Manager will play a crucial role in overseeing and optimising the volunteer programme within the College of Paramedics.

With a focus on enhancing volunteer relationships and strengthening organisational capabilities, you will lead strategic initiatives to help to create a positive, productive, and rewarding experience for volunteers while maximising their contribution to our strategic objectives.

The Volunteer Relationship Manager will be required to:

The salary for this position is £47,674 per annum and we operate a hybrid working policy of 2 days in the office per week.

Key Responsibilities

The role will include a mixture of fast-paced and impactful response-mode funding, and working closely with applicants to shape large-scale strategic research initiatives.  Each role will be responsible for a different area of our research portfolio, as follows:

• Role 1: Delivering discovery and translational research funding, including a national large-scale programmatic research funding scheme. 
• Role 2: Delivering clinical research funding, including a new national paediatric cancer clinical trial funding scheme. Specific expertise in clinical trial funding is desirable for this role. 

As we are hiring for two positions, we will assess your suitability for both the above roles throughout the hiring process. 

• The post holders will need to be team players with excellent attention to detail, strong organisational skills, and a willingness to go above and beyond.

You will have extensive healthcare, scientific and/or research management experience and be able to operate independently to develop and take projects forward. • Strong research grants management experience with experience leading on the planning and delivery of grant funding initiatives

Leadership

Regional Fundraising Manager (West Wales)

Join Wales’ leading cancer charity as a Fundraiser and manage raising funds across an already established West Wales region. There’s loads of scope to generate more income and grow connections.

You’ll be joining an experienced Wales fundraising team who generate over £2.8million of annual income. Your fundraising impact is seen in people affected by cancer through the services we run, the difference to lives we make and the campaigns that make meaningful change.

You’ll be managing and building relationships across West Wales with our supporters, Friends of Tenovus groups and establishing new fundraising connections and work with teams of volunteers. Championing exceptional supporter care will be at the heart of everything you do, making sure every donor feels truly valued. You’ll work strategically, staying ahead of sector trends and ensuring we’re always following best practice, while also diving into the data — managing budgets, reporting performance through Salesforce, and using insights to drive smarter, more impactful fundraising. As part of the Fundraising Managers Team, you’ll collaborate across the charity and play an active role in shaping the future of our work. 

You’ll Be Great If... 

• Have hands-on experience managing individual giving and legacy programmes that truly connect with supporters. 

• Know how to create compelling supporter journeys and deliver outstanding donor care that keeps people coming back. 

• Can confidently juggle multiple projects with great attention to detail and top-notch time management. 

• Are a natural communicator, able to tailor your message to any audience — from donors to internal teams. 

• Feel at home using CRM systems (bonus points for Salesforce!), Canva, email tools, and social media ads to drive fundraising forward.
