About the role

Our Hackney Parent Support project is commissioned by Hackney Council, to offer infant feeding support across the region in both community and hospital settings and parenting courses for families throughout the Hackney region. The support is delivered by staff and volunteer peer supporters.

We are seeking a capable Peer Supporter who will support parents at Homerton Hospital and at various community settings in Hackney. This role will mainly be based between Homerton hospital and out in the community (expenses will be reimbursed).

You will be responsible for offering infant feeding support for parents within Homerton Hospital and the community. Some of the key responsibilities of the role include:

• Providing breastfeeding support to families on the wards at Homerton hospital and community settings within Hackney.
• Support in delivering inductions for volunteer peer supporters.
• To report any concerns or additional support needs of women to the NCT management team and/or Infant Feeding Lead for referral onto partner agencies as appropriate. 
• To attend regular supervision/support sessions.
• Having a good working knowledge and understanding of the local demographics in the Hackney area and ensuring all support is accessible and inclusive.
• Ensure that data collection and feedback is collected in a timely manner in an inclusive way.

You must have good communication skills and be able to build relationships and create a rapport with a wide range of people easily. This is a large project and covers multiple locations so you must be able to confidently prioritise your own work, be highly organised and able to work independently.

Being able to make decisions and respond appropriately to our staff, peer supporters and parents and other external stakeholders is essential, alongside good IT skills– including Outlook, Word and Excel – and you must have good attention to detail.
 
It is essential for this post that you undertake the training to become an NCT Breastfeeding Peer Supporter. This requires experience of giving breast milk. The training can be undertaken within your working hours.

The role is 21 hours per week which will be predominantly Monday to Friday within the working day, however, will include occasional evening and weekends. This role is mainly based at Homerton Hospital and at community settings across Hackney.

Overall job purpose

This is a fundamental role within our North regional team, internally the role is known as Local Community Officer. The future of CCT’s outstanding collection of historic churches depends on communities supporting their local CCT church with funds, events, inspiring interpretation, visitor services and preventive conservation. The Local Community Officer will engage and support communities and volunteers to care for 23 historic churches across Greater Manchester, Lancashire, Merseyside, W. Yorkshire, N. Yorkshire (part), ensuring each site achieves agreed standards.

About this job

The Office Administrator role is to provide a high level of customer service and support to our service users, supporters, volunteers, groups, members of the public and internal customers. Contributing to overall implementation of the Services and Support and Northern Ireland directorates’ objectives. This will be achieved by ensuring the best possible service user experience for our MS community and by proactively improving processes and ways of working.

Please note this is a part-time job working Monday to Friday from 10am to 3:30pm.

We are looking for a Funding Officer to join our team in Wales.  This is a fixed term, full time post until March 2026 (open to a conversation on flexible working and job share) 

Depending on your location and preference, you will be based in either the Cardiff or Newtown office. You are welcome to be based in the office full time, or a combination of home and office working. As a Funding Officer serving our Mid & West Wales region, (Bridgend, Carmarthenshire, Ceredigion, Neath Port Talbot, Pembrokeshire, Powys and Swansea).

• You will assess requests for funding and manage grants using local knowledge, best practice, thematic expertise, and the experience of customers and stakeholders to improve our grant making and inform our decision making. By working closely with people and communities, you will understand what matters to them and where our funding can make the biggest difference.
• You will be responsible for supporting local people and communities in Bridgend and Neath Port Talbot, and have a strong understanding of our vision, being able to adapt your approach to the wishes of the people you are working with.
• You’ll also need to support our stakeholders, helping them to make connections that will help them achieve their goals.
• You will be responsible for the pipeline of projects in Bridgend and Neath Port Talbot, understanding and responding to the different needs of our customers by providing advice and considered feedback, and be willing to have challenging but constructive conversations. Funding Officers will ensure our grant management and assessment play an effective part in contributing to the Fund’s knowledge and learning as a grant maker.
• You will manage your own caseload, liaise with grant recipients, undertake project visits, identify and manage risk, supporting organisations to deliver their projects and measure their impact.

Our Finance team is looking to recruit a Finance Officer to join our Accounts Payable (AP) team to support the work and transactions that British Heart Foundation (BHF) perform for us to fund lifesaving science.
 
As an Accounts Payable Finance Officer, you'll:

• support the team and deliver a high-quality service in terms of timely, accurate and efficient entry of BHF expenditure onto our central accounting system
• ensure you achieve key performance indicators and individual targets agreed upon and set by the AP Team leader
• ensure that all transactions are coded and authorised to meet month end deadlines and meet agreed service levels.
• work on data capture and will have knowledge of IPOS queue management.
   

The AP team provides a high level of customer service, ensuring colleagues and suppliers are kept updated in the process and that the payment process is as smooth as possible, so you’ll effectively manage your workload and escalate complex issues to the team lead.

Understanding the needs of customers, you’ll raise the profile of finance through provision across the AP team of best-in-class service both internally and externally.

The role involves dealing with internal & external customers via email and over the phone, so you’ll be confident communicating in both conversation and writing.

Working arrangements

About the Role

We are looking to recruit individuals who have the desire to support looked after children and their foster families. 

As a Fostering Support Worker (Bank) you would work closely with the supervising social workers, local authorities and other professionals to support foster placements.

You would have the ability to manage your availability.

The role will involve:

• Planning and implementing appropriate activities to meet the individual needs of looked after children
• Running support groups, both for looked after children and birth children
• Providing support sessions during the day, evenings or weekends
• Transporting young people to activities and appointments and supervising family contact sessions
• Appropriate training will be provided to assist in this role.

• Experience of working with children and young people in a paid or voluntary capacity
• Experience of administrative work including data entry and report writing
• Ability to work with challenging behaviour and resolve conflict

In this role, you’ll support a visually impaired Guide Dogs Employee and Guide Dog owner, helping them perform their duties effectively through a mix of remote and in-person support. In-person support will be required once or twice a week locally in Stevenage involving tasks such as providing sighted guidance to navigate unfamiliar environments, helping with access to systems on a laptop, or describing the layout of rooms at events.

Your Microsoft Office expertise will be put to great use as you assist with a variety of administrative tasks, including document formatting, PowerPoint presentations, and note-taking. Your eye for detail will ensure that all documents are clear, accessible, and well-organised.

You’ll also help with travel arrangements as and when required, including collecting the employee from home and going to train station or providing a lift from their home to various Guide Dogs sites. A full, clean driving license and access to a vehicle are essential. You’ll provide sighted guidance, ensuring the employee can navigate unfamiliar environments with confidence. As the employee is a Guide Dog owner, being comfortable with dogs and helping with their care, such as exercise, will be part of the role as well.

Your excellent communication skills and person-centred approach will be key in building a close, trusting relationship with the employee. Flexibility will also be crucial, as you’ll need to adapt to changing tasks and demands.

This role requires the ability to work under pressure and take initiative, managing your workload efficiently. Whether assisting with travel, preparing documents, or providing sighted guidance, your proactive attitude and organisational skills will be key to your success.

You will be fully trained in tasks such as sighted guiding and how to work confidently around a Guide Dog, ensuring that you feel supported and equipped, even if you haven’t had experience in this space before. The role is 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm. Occasional flexibility will be required to work outside of core hours, including weekends and overnight stays.

If you are right for this role, you will be a committed, motivated, and outgoing individual who wants to support the sexual and reproductive health (SRH) of young people living in the Royal Borough of Greenwich, working in a partnership capacity as part of a holistic health and wellbeing programme. Your role will be multi-faceted, and you will therefore be flexible and able to offer a variety of SRH interventions in a broad range of settings, to a broad range of young people.

First, you will provide brief interventions in sexual health in an outreach capacity at schools, colleges, universities, leisure centres, youth organisations, and other venues. Here, your primary focus will be to provide basic information about SRH to young people, whilst also encouraging them to complete a Chlamydia screen and register to the free condom scheme. You will also promote online testing for those aged over 18, and connect young people with other local sexual health services through referral and signposting.

Second, you will deliver SRH and relationships training to groups of young people and professionals, in smaller workshop settings as well as to larger groups. You will be able to deliver accurate information on a variety of topics that are often sensitive and complex. You will have an existing knowledge base that you will be willing to expand and solidify through a combination of supported training and independent learning.

Third, you will facilitate offsite drop-in sexual health sessions and offer 1:1 sexual health support to young people who attend any of the four Young Greenwich youth groups. You and your team will each be responsible for attending the four Young Greenwich hubs once each week during evening hours, working closely with the youth group leader as well as the young people themselves to establish trusted relationships and an engaging programme of activity. You will be proactive and creative at integrating sexual health to other, ongoing activities, and ensure effective safeguarding.

Additionally, you will work closely with the wider SHO team, including supporting the sexual health phone lines processing screening results, and where necessary, signposting to relevant services. Across all aspects of your role, you promote local sexual health and contraception services to young people and adults alike, referring to in-person or online services as appropriate and handholding as much or as little as needed, particularly to those most vulnerable. You will keep accurate monitoring records for all interactions, referrals, Chlamydia screens, and C Card registrations / distributions. You will also contribute to quarterly service review reports.

This role requires flexibility, working unsociable hours in the evenings, and occasional weekends. Schedules may vary from week to week depending on programme need.
