Job Purpose
 
BSR’s education programme is a key benefit to members and the wider rheumatology community, providing updates on the essentials needed to deliver top-quality care for patients and ensuring professional development opportunities. 

This role sits within the Education team who are responsible for delivering BSR’s educational activity. Working alongside the Head of Education, the Events and Education Manager and the Digital Events Manager, you will assist in the planning and delivery of a range of education courses, webinars, bursary schemes and eLearning activities.  You will work with the team to support the work of our Education Committee, Trainee Committee and Digital Learning Board. 

This is an exciting role for someone looking to get more hands-on experience in planning and executing a variety of educational events and activities and liaising with multiple stakeholders. It is a unique opportunity to be part of the team at the forefront of rheumatology education, making a tangible impact on the professional development of members and the broader rheumatology community.
 

Main responsibilities

• Manage course and webinar registration processes, including delegate bookings, communications, data management and reporting, and producing delegate materials.  
• Manage course logistics including venue sourcing and management, accommodation and travel, catering and AV.
• Manage the rheumatology training webinar series, including topic development, speaker management and live delivery.
• Manage the creation of monthly eLearning packages including webinars, podcasts and eLearning cases.
• Manage the education bursary programme, including promotion, application management and financial reconciliation.
• Manage CPD accreditation of educational activities. 
• Manage events inbox and education team enquiries.
• Input into our education budgets by monitoring progress against income and expenditure for projects owned. 
• Produce content for webpages and social media platforms to drive interest and engagement and keep delegates informed.  
• Attend committee meetings, provide updates if needed and assist with the minute-taking, agenda preparation and follow-up on actions as necessary.  
• Undertake any other reasonable duties as required by the Head of Education and the Events and Education Manager.

Please note: Occasional travel is expected including attendance and overnight stays at BSR conferences, courses and events.

About the Role

As Receptionist and Office Administrator you will provide an efficient, sensitive, and welcoming reception function for anyone using the Carers Centre as well as high quality administrative support to the charity’s service delivery.

About the role

Sense has a fantastic opportunity for someone to join our Business Development team as our Partnerships Executive. This is a full time, 12 month fixed term, position working 37.5 hours per week. This role will working flexibly between home and our office in King's Cross, London.

This role will play a key part in achieving the Corporate Partnerships strategy, which is at an exciting point as Sense expands its programmes to reach more people who are deafblind or have complex disabilities. Sense is committed to developing our Corporate Partnerships Portfolio and have identified corporate income as a strong growth area for the charity. The successful candidate will be working within the Philanthropy & Partnerships team which consists of philanthropy, trusts and foundations, and statutory funding, contributing over £3m to support programmes across the UK. 

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the initiative to expand Sense’s ‘talks and training’ offerings by establishing and maintaining relationships with EDI (Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion) professionals and leaders of corporate staff networks.
• Assist Partnership Managers in the day-to-day management and nurturing of existing corporate partnerships, ensuring consistent support and service delivery aligns with Sense’s strategic goals.
• Conduct weekly research to identify corporate foundations and charity of the year opportunities, lead the application process, and support partnership managers by strengthening their pipelines.
• Actively participate in team discussions and strategy sessions, contributing to the development and implementation of the corporate partnership strategy.
• Assist in maintaining the CRM system by entering data on partner interactions, ensuring accuracy and completeness of records to support effective relationship management.
• Assist in compiling status reports and updates for the corporate partnerships team, helping track against targets and outcomes.

Key skills and experience

• Familiarity with the principles of account management, including supporting the retention and growth of client or partner relationships.
• Experience assisting with the development of new business pipelines, from initial research to the support stages of deal closure.
• Ability to support negotiations and positively influence outcomes under guidance, contributing to the acquisition of new opportunities for income.
• Comfortable working under senior staff and supporting interactions with senior stakeholders, with the potential to occasionally represent the organization at events or meetings.
• Skilled at building long-term relationships with stakeholders internally and externally

The Role

• Creating, implementing and overseeing the delivery of a wide-ranging programme of interventions in localities
• Ensuring that contracts and projects are managed effectively, including performance management that demonstrates our social impact
• Ensuring the smooth and effective financial management of projects via contracts and grants, including adhering to procurement and financial regulations
• Working with the Partnerships and Funding team by writing bids that bring in external funding to deliver social impact in our communities

• Embedding a framework for social impact and outcomes recording

What we need from you

Ideally, you'll have significant experience and expertise in the Community Investment sector gained from working in a similar role.

You'll need excellent partnership skills, a focus on delivering social impact, ability to identify opportunities for fundraising and programme development and commitment to customer service with the confidence to collaborate with a variety of stakeholders. You'll also have:

• A proven track record of positive stakeholder engagement and relationship management, both internally and externally
• Excellent communication skills both oral and written, tailored to a range of audiences
• Strong organisational and project management skills
• Experience of quality assurance of projects, including monitoring and evaluation systems
• Confidence with budget management and financial systems
• IT literate and able to use technology for effective project delivery

Lingen Davies Cancer Fund exists to enhance cancer services and improve lives in Shropshire, Telford & Wrekin, and Mid Wales. Founded in 1979, with the aim of bringing cancer services to Shropshire for the first time, our work is now focused in three key areas: cancer prevention and early diagnosis, excellent treatment delivered locally, and living well with and beyond cancer.

Two of our Fundraising Team have recently departed for exciting new projects, and we have taken this opportunity to create some different posts within the team. We really value our relationships with businesses and major donors around the region, and we are very pleased to be recruiting to this role, which will build capacity and focus in this area.

Our Relationship Fundraiser will work closely with colleagues across the charity to deliver excellent supporter care and stewardship, building long term relationships for Lingen Davies Cancer Fund. Attending a range of community events and networking opportunities to act as the face of the charity, including delivery of presentations, and to raise our profile across the region.

You will be responsible for maintaining and growing relationships with local businesses, and ensuring excellent stewardship of our donors, especially those giving larger philanthropic contributions.

You will also take the lead on our Friends of Lingen Davies scheme for regular donors, ensuring they are kept informed and engaged, and building their numbers.

You will work with colleagues to develop the use of our CRM system and apply data analysis to support delivery of the role, and to develop future plans and direction. You will be self-managing, motivated, have excellent interpersonal skills and be computer savvy!

The Role 
 
As our Individual Giving Officer, you will help to develop and implement the charity’s individual giving strategy.

Supporting the Individual Giving Manager, you will be the main point of contact and manage the day-to-day relationships with external face-to-face fundraising partners, who represent Yorkshire Cancer Research at private sites (e.g. supermarkets) and by going door-to-door to raise awareness of the work of the charity and encourage individuals to make regular gifts. You will be involved in all aspects of building and maintaining fundraising partner relationships.  

Specifically, you will: 

Support the charity’s face-to-face fundraising activities: 

• Work with the Marketing Team and face-to-face partners to build a range of marketing propositions that create memorable conversations and increase the likelihood of individuals deciding to sign up to give a regular donation. 

• Co-ordinate and facilitate training and engagement activity for new and current face-to-face fundraisers to keep them informed of and inspired by the latest developments at the charity. 

• Ensure face-to-face fundraisers have appropriate collateral and that all equipment and materials are kept up to date and are engaging for potential supporters. 

• Ensure face-to-face fundraisers represent Yorkshire Cancer Research in a way that aligns with the charity’s brand values and key messages. 

Create campaigns, supporter journeys and develop onward stewardship: 

• With the support of the Individual Giving Manager, lead individual giving fundraising campaigns and help to develop new campaign propositions that will attract and retain supporters. 

• Work with the Individual Giving Manager and Supporter Engagement Team to develop and implement supporter journeys from beginning to end for newly acquired regular donors and other key supporter groups, aiming to increase levels of affinity with the charity and encourage life-time commitment.

• In conjunction with the Supporter Engagement Team, regularly review fulfilment communications to all our individual giving supporters, ensuring they are compelling, accurate and fit for purpose. 

Be responsible for data management and reporting: 

• Analyse campaigns and activity, including monthly reviews of key performance indicators, to provide insights and inform future decisions. 

• Use the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) database to maintain accurate records, for data segmentation and for income and other KPI reporting purposes to ensure the effective management of all individual giving activities. 

 
About You 

To be considered for this role, you will need: 

• To have a degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant discipline, or proven experience working in a similar role at a similar level. 

• To have experience of individual giving and/or new donor acquisition within the charity sector or similar customer service experience in another sector. 

• To have experience of campaign management including creating schedules, data management, creating briefing documents, budget management, analysing and reporting on results.

• To have experience of having used insight to inform decision-making. 

• To have experience of working with databases and CRM platforms (e.g. Access or Raiser’s Edge). 

• To have excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build strong relationships. 

• To be happy to work independently and to ask for support where this is needed. Also likes to work with, and support, colleagues as part of a team working towards a common goal.

• To have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with an ability to use active listening skills, and write professionally and appropriately for a range of diverse audiences. 

• To have high levels of computer literacy with comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, especially Word, Excel and Outlook.
