The Role
As a Development Partner, you will provide bespoke organisational development support that is tailored to the needs of small charities. Support will be delivered either face to face or online, dependent on the needs of the organisation.

About the role
We’re entering an ambitious new phase of growth. This expansion will enable us to deliver our vision – that by 2050, everyone with breast cancer will live and be supported to live well.
This growth phase means we are seeking to make new connections and attract new donors who can make transformative gifts. Gaining new business will be critical.
As our philanthropy manager, you’ll be integral to supporting income growth within our major gifts fundraising programme. This is a great opportunity if you are a talented major gift fundraiser who has comprehensive experience of successfully soliciting donations from high-net-worth individuals.
This is an externally focussed, relationship management role, concentrating on securing and maintaining long term relationships with high-net-worth donors. This will include identifying new opportunities to raise funds from prospective donors who could make significant financial commitments. You’ll then be responsible for engaging, cultivating, and stewarding these relationships.
The role will support a philosophy of proactive relationship building through cultivation and stewardship communications and activities. This will entail maintaining and maximising exiting donor relationships as well as attracting new business from a growing pool of new major supporters. You’ll ensure prospective donors are engaged with appropriate propositions, particularly from our extensive medical research portfolio.
This role will involve working closely with the head of philanthropy and associate director, philanthropy and special events. Developing good working relationships with the prospect researcher, research communications colleagues and other key internal stakeholders will also be vital.

About you
We’re looking for a highly self-motivated, innovative relationship manager who has well-developed understanding and knowledge of philanthropy. You’ll have demonstrable experience of soliciting at least 5 figure gifts from high-net-worth individuals and maintaining those relationships for repeat gifts. You’ll have a track record of meeting challenging income targets as well as experience of being part of high value asks alongside senior colleagues and/or senior volunteers

Scope are looking to appoint a Retail Shop Cover Manager (Known internally as Retail Divisional Support Manager) based in the Yorkshire and Humberside area and supporting a number of Scope shops in this area.
The Retail Divisional Support Manager involves working closely with the Divisional Managers to enable our shops to trade when there are vacancies or sickness. The role will play a key role in maintaining and improving the running of our shops day to day and enable us to maximise sales and profit. This role will involve running various shops and travel across the division.

Permanent, 35 hours per week
Based in Yorkshire and Humberside area and supporting Scope shops in this area including Anlaby, Batley, Morley, Scarborough and Whitby.
It is therefore essential that you can travel within this geographical area and a car allowance will be provided.
Shop hours
It’s important for you to know that Scope Charity Shops are open every day, so some weekend and Bank Holiday cover is needed. We work 35 hours a week, working five days out of seven.

Salary: £30k - £35k FTE depending on experience

IDPE is a membership organisation, supporting fundraising and engagement professionals in schools. This is a relationship management role which requires an engaging, enthusiastic and passionate communicator able to build relationships at all levels, listen to the needs of members and work across the business to ensure these needs are being met.
Key Responsibilities:
Member engagement
- Together with the membership administrator, you will be a primary point of contact for members across the UK and internationally
- Member satisfaction is our highest priority, and you will be speaking to members daily, monitoring forum discussions, identifying key discussion themes at meetings and working with internal staff to ensure IDPE continues to meet the needs of its members
- You’ll get to know members personally and will be able to understand their challenges and areas of interest, signposting them to relevant services and resources. You will also identify potential gaps in our services and will work across the business to ensure we meet the needs of all members
- An analytical approach to member engagement is required as you will be responsible for the analysis and interpretation of engagement data, using this to develop an engagement strategy and encourage member participation
Member acquisition
- You will work with the CEO on developing and managing the member acquisition strategy and pipeline, researching prospective members, and managing the relationship through to membership
- You may be asked to represent IDPE at external events or conferences, identifying and connecting with prospective members
- You will work with marketing to communicate member benefits to prospective schools
- Together with the membership administrator you will manage the new member onboarding process, conducting welcome calls and initiating regular follow-ups to ensure new members are engaged and knowledgeable about our services
IDPE’s member acquisition strategy is based on relationships. We do not cold call or hard sell but build on introductions and approaches from schools interested in joining.
Volunteer stewardship
- You will be responsible for building and managing a nationwide network of volunteers, encouraging their involvement in the member engagement and acquisition process
- IDPE hosts 12 regional meetings and specialist forums, across the UK each term. You will be responsible for ensuring these happen, working with volunteers to create relevant and engaging agendas and chairing meetings when required
- You will manage the volunteer recruitment, onboarding and engagement process
Membership strategy
- Membership strategy is led by the CEO but, as membership engagement manager, you will be instrumental in influencing this and will lead its delivery. You will also support the CEO in a wide range of membership activities and projects
- You will be an ambassador for IDPE, representing the charity at internal and external events, chairing webinars and over time will become a subject matter expert on IDPE’s membership
- Your analytical approach will enable you to report on trends, behaviours and challenges, providing data to support your narrative. You will also work closely with the Finance Director to set and monitor membership targets
- You will be responsible for writing membership communications and for ensuring the membership content on the website remains current
- You will be responsible for leading key membership projects

It would suit an individual from a sales/account management, alumni relations, fundraising or member services background.
Essential skills
- Experience in membership, relationship management, fundraising, alumni relations or customer service management with a proven track record of leading the delivery of a high-quality service
- Naturally inquisitive with a keeness to listen to members and find out more about their challenges. You will be someone who loves people and is able to listen, question and empathise with individuals at all levels
- Strong administrative skills, able to set up and manage supporting processes
- Professional at all times, even when under pressure
- Able to present information succinctly in oral and written form
- IT literate with experience of MS Office and using a database/CRM to record, review and extract data
- Excellent copywriting and proofreading skills
- Working within a small team will require a flexible approach to duties and a willingness to support others with a variety of tasks

About the role
Smart Works is looking to appoint a Head of London Service Delivery for 12 months, to start in September 2024. This is a maternity cover role for an established leadership role within the Smart Works staff team.
The Head of London Service Delivery is responsible for leading the delivery of the Smart Works service across London. Last year the Smart Works centres in London supported over 3500 unemployed women from across London, and the demand for our service is expected to rise significantly in the coming months.
By effectively leading and managing a team of nine, the Head of London Service Delivery will ensure Smart Works is well positioned to meet the growing demand for our services and maintain quality as the charity grows. They will ensure that every client who visits Smart Works leaves their appointment feeling confident and with the best possible chance of job success.
They will monitor performance against KPIs and will work with their team to ensure there is a steady flow of referrals, the volunteer community is engaged and supported and client feedback is consistently positive.
More broadly, the Head of London Service Delivery plays an important role in creating a welcoming environment and a supportive team culture in all three London centres. The successful applicants will need to build strong working relationships across the staff and volunteer teams, as well as with external partners and other senior staff working across the 11 centres across the UK.

Benefits, terms, and conditions

About the role:
This role is 12 months fixed term, home based, working 37.5 hours per week Monday-Friday 9am-5pm. Travel within England and Wales may be required.

Join the National Portrait's Gallery’s Development team as Fundraising Manager, Grants. You'll work closely with the Senior Fundraising Manager, Grants and Legacy Giving to support the delivery of an ambitious and exciting fundraising programme and raise income through grant-giving bodies, including Trusts and Foundations, statutory funders, and corporate foundations.
The postholder will seek to secure critical support for budget-relieving activity taking place across the Gallery, including learning and engagement and exhibitions, as well as support for acquisitions, special projects, and capital works. They will make a significant contribution to ensuring exemplary relationships with grant-makers and their representatives, and actively cultivate prospects to increase support for the Gallery.
The Fundraising Manager, Grants will work with the Senior Fundraising Manager, Grants and Legacy Giving to develop and implement a strategy for grants fundraising and support ongoing stewardship of funder relationships.
The postholder will also support the Gallery’s ambition to grow legacy giving as part of the wider team objectives.
