Our three Communities Teams are responsible for identifying, investigating and intervening in housing and homelessness practice issues. We engage with our local communities to understand the issues people are facing and apply expert housing knowledge, insight and analysis to identify solutions to them. As well as providing advice and advocacy for individuals, we also use our insight, relationships and influence to drive systemic change, always ensuring that Lived experience is at the heart of everything we do.

About the role

You’ll be responsible for delivering high quality housing advice, advocacy and casework to clients in community settings and remotely in line with local pressing issues, and managing others in this. You will develop relationships within the sector to gather evidence and insights into the impact of the housing emergency, and using those insights to drive systems change. You will lead on the development and delivery of a programme of capacity building, ensuring other organisations have the skills to act on housing rights. Influencing a range of stakeholders and decision makers across the housing sector will be important too.

You will act as a leader within the project and the wider Communities Team to help deliver and evidence our strategy at an operational level. We will count on you to line manage, supervise, coach and mentor a housing rights worker.

About you

To succeed, you’ll need to have experience of working with, and influencing, a range of internal and external stakeholders and enjoy collaborating with people from other teams and organisations. You’ll also need great time management skills, an enthusiasm for delivering workshops and presentations and a willingness to challenge practice and hold people to account. You’ll have a flair for leading and motivating others. Adept at engaging with individuals and communities, you enjoy gathering evidence and identifying insights, issues and trends. What’s more, you present information and arguments in a clear and compelling way and have excellent problem-solving skills. This role builds on their significant investment in the development of their evaluation principles, the development of the Outcomes Framework, the CRM development, community research and in team ability and capacity to engage with data and impact.

Key responsibilities

The role includes the following duties however these may change as the post evolves:

As Employment Consultant, you will work collaboratively with Veterans (clients) and employers to provide information, advice and guidance in order to assist clients to overcome barriers to secure and retain paid, meaningful and sustainable, employment.

Key responsibilities include:

• Managing a diverse caseload of clients with health conditions and complex needs back into employment, providing a professional employment, job matching and career management service.
• Building relationships with key partners in the region to both promote the service and maintain a network of services that veterans can be referred to.
• Providing information, advice, and guidance to clients on areas including application materials, interview skills and training.
• Analysing potential job roles to understand and guide on reasonable adjustments, on-boarding arrangements or training, advocating with the employer on behalf of the client where appropriate.
• Maintaining Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system, case notes and other electronic files and client records to the required, high standard to ensure the client journey is documented in accordance with quality standards and in a manner that is respectful to the client.

 The successful candidate will have knowledge and experience of helping people with multiple support needs such as health conditions, housing issues, social isolation, substance misuse and criminal records. Knowledge and understanding of current recruitment practices, with the ability to coach clients in application skills and interview techniques is also crucial, alongside a high level of personal resilience, adaptability and flexibility, with the ability to deal effectively and safely with potentially stressful or pressured situations.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Programme Coordination and Project Delivery

• ​To work closely with the Director of Strategy and Programmes to coordinate and support the delivery of all our programmes to achieve the outputs and outcomes agreed with our funders. 
• To support with event management both online and face to face including providing technical support to participants on platforms for online training, including driving all courses hosted on Zoom, and providing excellent customer service to all engaging with our work.
• To support evaluations through providing and analysing data to use in reporting to funders and stakeholders. 
• To lead on programme administration and funder updates, including tracking key data on platforms including Arts Council Annual Survey, Julie’s Bicycle, Illuminate and Salesforce. 
• To support with the administration of programme activity by attending and writing minutes for key meetings, drawing up programme contracts, aiding with diary management, filing, liaising with key personnel, and conducting phone or zoom conversations as needed. 
• To support with the financial administration of our programmes through invoicing and managing participant expenses. 
• To take part in training and attending any networking events as required, including potential out-of-hours events such as our 3-day residentials, to represent Cause4 externally when required.
• To contribute to Cause4’s overall business development when required, and being pro-active in terms of personal development, working alongside the line-manager to build key objectives for growth within Cause4.

Marketing and Communications

• To oversee and manage the day-to-day communications of our programmes, including managing our dedicated programme inboxes, liaising with participants, trainers and partners as needed. 
• To set-up and publicise key events, projects and training opportunities on all programme websites and relevant platforms, including Eventbrite. 
• To support the Programmes team to achieve public-facing training sales targets for our programmes through implementation of the marketing plan.
• To support with communications and marketing by curating social media content (SmarterQueue), programme newsletters (Mailchimp), graphics (Canva), and blogs. 
• To support updating the website on a regular basis with support from the web designer and to be a coordinating lead and contributor in writing for key publications such as the digital Now, New and Next publication. 
• To research and develop our audiences and networks, in line with our priority areas, regularly updating our databased to ensure key contacts are in place. 
• To lead on the analytics of our marketing data, collating vital information from SmarterQueue, Twitter, LinkedIn and Google Analytics. 

This is a remote (home) working role, with opportunities to meet with the Cause4 team at regular events throughout the year in London, Cambridge, and other locations. 

PERSON SPECIFICATION

To deliver the role, we’d expect you to have the following skills and experience:

• Some existing project management experience in the arts, heritage or culture sectors, or an equivalent role where your skills can be transferred to the above responsibilities.

Your role

As Assistant Shop Manager at Scope's Shirley, Southampton shop, you’ll work alongside the Shop Manager, and use your creativity and flair to flourish in our retail environment. Our retail roles are full of variety, and every day is different! One day you might be be generating and processing stock and designing an eye-catching window display. The next day you might be recruiting and training our wonderful volunteers. Every day there will be a different challenge that you’ll find extremely rewarding. You may also deputise and be responsible for running the shop when the shop manager is absent. A great attitude and willingness to learn are just as important as relevant experience.

About you

You’ll be a dedicated team player with a strong work ethic and committed to providing excellent customer service. You do not need specific retail experience. But we do ask that you are business minded and have worked in a fast paced, service environment where you put the customer’s needs first. You’ll also need to showcase a great attention to detail, solid IT skills and have a creative eye for displays. The post holder will be fully involved in all aspects of the day-to-day management of our Young Peoples Ofsted registered service, including line managing the relevant front-line staff. You will lead and develop competence of direct reports as well as carry caseloads of customers requiring support. You will work closely with the Contract Manager to ensure that the service delivers on all targets, both financial and those around the quality of the service.

- Deliver effective supervision and team meetings with staff and ensure that information, reporting and communication

- Ensure that Key Performance Indicators (KPI's) required as part of the Contract are met and recorded correctly
- Develop key business relationships with all appropriate relevant customers/external parties to ensure service delivery excellence and maximise new business opportunities in own patch
- Participate in and monitor the initial and continuous assessment of needs and ensure that support planning is carried out in line with assessed needs of the customer
- Carry out other administrative tasks as relevant to the service and directed by the Contract/Heads of Operations
