Summary of the Role

As a Trust and Grant Fundraiser, you will play a crucial role in securing funds from various trusts, foundations, and grant-making organisations to support the mission and projects of Roundabout, South Yorkshire’s youth homeless charity. The successful candidate will be responsible for researching potential funding sources, developing compelling grant proposals, and cultivating relationships with donors.

You will spend time researching grants to apply for and build relationships with award funding bodies. In addition, you will need to develop relationships with the different projects at Roundabout to know what they need funding and to interpret the results to feedback to funders.

The successful candidate will be instrumental in conducting comprehensive research, crafting persuasive grant proposals, and fostering meaningful relationships with donors to drive the organisation's fundraising success.

You will be joining a fast paced and fun team of five fundraisers who work across all fundraising disciplines.

Key accountabilities

• Conduct thorough and targeted research to identify potential trust, foundation, and grant opportunities aligned with Roundabout's mission and specific projects.
• Maintain an up-to-date database of relevant trusts and foundations.
• Stay connected with evolving trends in grant-making, philanthropy, and social services to maximize funding potential.
• Collaborate closely with project managers and relevant staff to gather insights and data necessary for creating compelling grant proposals and evaluations.
• Craft clear, concise, and impactful grant proposals that effectively articulate Roundabout's objectives, strategies, and the profound impact of our initiatives for young homeless people in South Yorkshire.
• Cultivate and nurture relationships with current and prospective donors, foundations, and funding bodies through regular communication and engagement.
• Establish a deep understanding of the philanthropic priorities and interests of potential funders to tailor proposals effectively.
• Collaborate with project teams to ensure accurate and timely reporting to donors, maintaining transparency and accountability.
• Monitor grant progress, adherence to project timelines, and compliance with grant agreements, while proactively addressing any challenges that may arise.
• Oversee the administration and reporting requirements for awarded grants.
• Prepare monthly report on applications and results.
• Responsible for own administration including accurate recording of all applications, responses and communications on the CRM database.
• Work closely with the CEO and finance to ensure compliance with grant terms.
• Collaborate with other fundraising and communication teams to create a cohesive and strategic approach to outreach and engagement.
• Represent the organisation at relevant networking events and conferences.
• Work with the Community and Events Fundraisers to ensure fundraising and volunteer spaces for events are filled as well as securing sponsorship.
• Ensure that all aspects of Roundabout’s fundraising are carried out safely and in accordance with the law, Institute of Fundraising Codes of Practice and Roundabout’s policies.
• Work with the Communications team to use social media to raise awareness of our fundraising activities and events.

Person Specification

Specific Knowledge, Experience and Skills

• Proven experience in trusts and grants fundraising within the charity sector. 
• Excellent research, writing, and communication skills.
• Minimum GCSE Grade C in English and Maths (or equivalent)
• Strong project management and organisational abilities.
• Familiarity with grant management processes and reporting requirements.
• Experience in using Windows-based software packages such as Excel and CRM Systems with experience of analysing spreadsheets.
• Ability to work collaboratively and independently.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to convey Roundabout's mission compellingly and provide excellent donor care.

About the role:

The Head of Operations will oversee the day-to-day running of the global operations of Reprieve UK and Reprieve US and our work around the globe.

They will be responsible for assisting with planning, implementing, overseeing, and evaluating the systems, processes and relationships that enable caseworkers, fellows, and consultants to do the challenging work that they do as efficiently, safely and effectively as possible. They will help devise creative solutions to build a flexible and supportive environment in which staff can carry out their work.

The Head of Operations will work closely with and supervise the work of the HR Operations Manager and the Office and Executive Support Officer. Reporting to a member of the Senior Management Team, they will provide support to the Joint Executive Directors as well as broader staff team, Fellows and consultants.

This role is based in Reprieve’s London office. Reprieve operates a hybrid working model and we require staff to work 40% per week from the London office and the rest of the week from home. You will also be available outside of office hours in the event of an emergency and when required as part of the security risk management framework (for example to monitor extreme risk trips).

Aquarius is a charity that helps people and communities overcome the harm caused by alcohol, drugs and gambling. We are part of ‘One Recovery Buckinghamshire’ (ORB), a partnership between Inclusion (MPFT NHS Trust), Aquarius, and Build on Belief providing support for alcohol and drug issues across Buckinghamshire.

We are looking for three Complex Needs Practitioners (Recovery Worker) to join our team in High Wycombe.

The purpose of the role is to engage people in a variety of interventions, using a person centred approach, empowering them to reduce risk, increase resilience and achieve positive outcomes.

All Complex Needs Practitioners (Recovery Worker) work flexibly across the community and within our multi-agency partnership settings. The caseload will include a mixture of community and multi-agency referral pathways including health and social care. You will join our caring multi-disciplinary teams, to help empower you to provide quality psychosocial interventions to our diverse client groups. 

A core part of the role will be working with people to address holistic support needs across all aspects of the person’s substance use and wellbeing. This could include diverse work related to physical and emotional health, meaningful use of time, family and relationships, community engagement and activites, accommodation, physical and emotional health, offending as well as substance use (drug use and / or alcohol use).

An energetic and confident self-starter, you have a qualification in health/social care, youth and community work (e.g. NVQ Level 3 or above, DipSW, Mental Health Nursing, Counselling, Addiction Studies).  Alternatively, we’ll consider candidates with experience of working in the substance misuse field with a commitment to complete NVQ Level 3 Health and Social Care. Experience of liaising with voluntary and statutory agencies and health professionals and engaging effectively with clients in a variety of settings is essential. You’ll also need a flexible approach, excellent record keeping and report writing skills and a willingness to work flexibly across the community and within our multi-agency partnership settings, on an outreach basis, with a central hub base at our head office.

This is a permanent full-time role requiring the post holder to work 37 hours per week.

The Hepatitis C Trust has developed projects nationally whereby peers use their lived experience of injecting drug use and hepatitis C, to provide education and training to service users and staff in drug and alcohol, hostel and homeless services, increasing hepatitis C awareness, access to testing and referral to treatment, for people living with hepatitis C.

Your remit will include ensuring that all complainants are responded to in a timely, efficient manner, ensuring that the relevant complaints procedure is diligently followed at all times. Moreover, you will be responsible for implementing the processes and systems for providing criminal records screening for Citizens Advice service paid staff and volunteers in England and Wales. 

This post will require you to make decisions relating to the appropriate response to complainants by email, phone, letter and/or social media, therefore you will demonstrate the capacity to use judgement under pressure, and you’ll also possess excellent written and verbal communication skills. Previous experience in a customer service focused environment is essential.

The Hepatitis C Trust has developed projects nationally whereby peers use their lived experience of injecting drug use and hepatitis C, to provide education and training to service users and staff in drug and alcohol, hostel and homeless services, increasing hepatitis C awareness, access to testing and referral to treatment, for people living with hepatitis C.

Do you have experience of working in drug services and with volunteers? Have you been affected by hepatitis C or have you supported anyone who has hepatitis C? We are looking for a passionate and skilled peer lead who has excellent communication and organisational skills. We require a good standard of education and welcome creativity and innovation in all our work.

Working under the guidance of the Peer Programme Manager, this post will continue the development of the project, recruiting and coordinating peers across identified areas within West Kent. Working in partnership with hepatitis C clinical teams, drug and alcohol services and homeless service providers, the post will coordinate delivery of educational workshops, hepatitis C testing in community settings, ensure that service users are referred and supported through hepatitis C treatment and care.

This post will require extensive travel across the county and the post holder is required to hold a clean driving licence and have their own vehicle for work related travel.

We are looking for a dedicated, enthusiastic Events Officer to join our Income Generation Team.

Are you an experienced, event fundraiser who enjoys building long lasting relationships with charity supporters and wanting to make a difference?

If so then we have a fantastic opportunity for you to join the fundraising team as our Events Officer.

Working to support the Birmingham Hospice brand, this varied role will lead on the delivery of a diverse portfolio of events and challenges including fun runs, adrenaline seeking challenges and in memory events. The successful candidate will have a friendly and engaging personality and enjoy speaking to charity supporters face to face, over the phone and via email.

Reporting directly to the Senior Events Manager this role will work to grow the income generation and profile of the charity through effective administration, supporter engagement and marketing of the events calendar, ensuring maximum participation and income is achieved. This role will allow you to use your creativity to proactively seek new income generation opportunities through event management. You will be a highly organised and motivated individual with excellent time management and written and verbal communication skills. The ideal candidate will have experience of managing a portfolio of events with proven success of reaching and exceeding participant and income targets. You should also have knowledge and experience of working with a range of external suppliers and volunteers and have a proven ability to build relationships at all levels. Experience of using CRMs systems is also advantageous.

About the Role: We are seeking an ESOL teacher to provide bespoke ESOL classes to groups of refugee and migrant women. This role requires a sensitive and proactive individual who can create a supportive and engaging learning environment. You will tailor course material and classes to meet the everyday language needs of our participants, fostering solidarity and empowerment within the group. 

Key Responsibilities: 

• Design and deliver English classes, workshops, and other activities tailored to the participants' specific needs. 

• Help organise events, excursions, and campaigns that enrich the lives of participating women. 

• Actively connect with organisations in the statutory, non-statutory, voluntary, and community sectors to enhance the project. 

• Measure and report all project outputs and outcomes, promoting achievements both internally and externally. 

What We’re Looking For: 

• At least 2 years as an ESOL teacher to people with limited or no literacy and with little or no formal education 

• Proven experience in working with vulnerable groups and outreach initiatives. 

• Competence in partnership working and collaboration with various stakeholders. 

• Experience addressing complex issues affecting refugee and migrant women. 

• Ability to assess participants' needs and develop tailored projects accordingly. 

• Strong initiative, independence, and sensitivity in working with vulnerable groups. 

• We particularly welcome applicants with experience of migration and/or a refugee background.
