School Wellbeing Counsellor (part-time, hybrid)
Rape Crisis South London are currently looking for a School Wellbeing Counsellor to join our organisation on a part-time basis, up until March 2025 in the first instance.
We are going places! With a new CEO and an ambitious and inspiring new vision, Rape Crisis South London is undergoing significant change and transformation in the run up to a new brand launch and organisational strategy.
Working with the wider Children and Young People team, the School Wellbeing Counsellor will have the responsibility for providing high quality therapeutic support to girls and young women in educational settings within educational settings and other venues in South London boroughs. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate their application of the Violence against Women and Girls (VAWG) movement, and experience of running services for Black and minoritised ethnic women.
The position is offered on a part-time basis up until March 2025. The post is open to female applicants only as being female is deemed to be a genuine occupational requirement under Schedule 9, Paragraph 1 of the Equality Act 2010.

The role
This is an exciting opportunity in a new role, working in an expanding Trusts & Grants Team, and is crucial to supporting the growth of our income from Trusts & Grants Funders. The focus of the role will be leading on the small trusts & grants programme, securing regular <£10,000 grants, as well as having the opportunity to work on larger, 5-figure grant applications.
This fundraising will support the charity's portfolio of projects, including our research programme, support services, World Meningitis Day, and many more.
Our Trusts & Grants Executive will also have the opportunity to work with and support the Head of Fundraising on our major Pharmaceutical Partnerships, providing administrative support to this fundraising stream.
This is a full-time position reporting to our Senior Trusts and Grants Manager. Full training and support will be provided.
Key Responsibilities
- Securing small (<£10,000) grants through applications and reports to trusts & grant funders.
- Working alongside the Head of Fundraising to ensure contracts and agreements are finalised, coordinating meetings with key contacts via phone and email.
- Identifying and researching new funding opportunities.
- Coordinating introductory communications with new trusts & grant funders.
- Building and maintaining relationships with key funder contacts;
- Acknowledging donations.
- Processing income.
- Maintaining accurate and GDPR-compliant database records.
- Undertaking any other tasks that may be necessary and compatible with the nature of this post.
Skills required
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Good organisational and administrative skills, with ability to prioritise, juggle multiple tasks and work to deadlines.
- Strong project management skills and the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
- Experience managing and documenting financial information.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Deliver Person-Centred Support
- To manage a caseload of clients, offering sessions in line with the counselling service procedures and policies.
- To provide counselling in line with the service specification.
- To ensure counselling is being delivered in line with BACP guidelines or other ethical frameworks.
- To have a good understanding of how to support younger clients due to the service working with people aged 16+.
- To screen all referrals including self-referrals and professional referrals and assess need/risk.
- To undertake assessments and report back to the counselling lead for allocation.
- To work closely with practitioners and informing them of when a client is due to exit and if additional support is required.
- To ensure agreed service standards are upheld and monitored using internal evaluations, user feedback, audits etc.
2. Effective Collaboration with External Agencies and Organisations
- To work closely with other staff within S&G Mind, including communicating any updates/concerns to practitioners involved with the person as well as internal MDT meetings.
- To liaise with professionals about Swindon wellbeing services, including attending multidisciplinary meetings.
- Attending meetings on behalf of the Swindon Manager when required.
- To signpost and support the person accessing the service to appropriate additional support services, resources and up to date information either internally or to external appropriate agencies.
3. KPI’s and Data Excellence
- To monitor and prepare stats and requested outcomes as needed.
- To maintain and manage own client record systems.
- To monitor data including amount of sessions provided within the service and time of access.
- To utilise S&G Mind systems to capture, track and monitor performance.
- To ensure client outcomes are effectively monitored and evaluated, and inputted for quarterly reporting.
- To produce case study reports.
- To write up notes from sessions and record information in line with S&G Mind policies and procedures.

Transforming Lives for Good (TLG) are a national Christian charity working in partnership with local churches to give struggling children hope and a future. Building on the huge success of TLG Early Intervention Coaching, TLG Therapeutic Support will be a new way for TLG, with partner churches, to provide support in school for the increasing number of pupils struggling to cope due to their emotional, relational, and mental health experiences.

About the Project
The Children and Young People’s (CYP) Community Counselling service is a new Herts Mind Network service, whose aim is to provide accessible, timely and high quality countywide counselling to local children and young people. Our CYP Community Counselling Service will deliver a blend of face-to-face, online, 1:1 and group counselling to enable young people to obtain impactful therapeutic support for the mental health difficulties they are facing, in a way that suits them.
The objectives of the CYP Community Counselling Service are:
- To support the emotional wellbeing of children and young people experiencing mental health issues in Hertfordshire.
- To provide high quality counselling, both face-to-face and online that is tailored to the child or young person and incorporates all facets of their life.
- To promote early intervention and prevention through an accessible and flexible counselling service that champions the strengths and self-resilience of children and young people.
- To work actively, inclusively and collaboratively with local children, young people and their families.
- To be a key partner of the Hertfordshire CYP MHS system, offering and increasing access to community-based help regarding mental health and emotional wellbeing.
About the Role
The CYP Sessional Counsellor post is integral to the delivery of this new community-based clinical service, delivering needs-led, robust and flexible counselling to local CYPF. The postholder will work clinically within the service, delivering group and/or 1:1 counselling either in-person or online. The CYP Sessional Counsellor will deliver a minimum of one therapeutic group or 3 x 1:1 counselling sessions per week. The clinical work of the postholder may take place in varied formats/locations, meeting the needs, requirements and preferences of CYPF accessing the service. The postholder will keep timely, detailed and accurate records, following organisational processes diligently. They will also ensure any concerns regarding CYPF accessing the service are escalated and managed efficiently, keeping the CYPF at the centre of their decision making.
The successful candidate will have a Level 4 qualification diploma or above in counselling, psychotherapy or arts/play therapy AND current registered/accredited/full/qualified membership of one of the following relevant professional bodies (BACP, UKCP, HCPC, BAAT etc.), competency in working within a recognized theoretical framework or therapeutic modality and a minimum of 1-2 years experience working in a therapeutic or counselling capacity with children, young people and/or families.
This is a rolling vacancy, as we are continually recruiting Sessional CYP Counsellors to work within our CYP Community Counselling Service in a freelance/contractor capacity.

This is an exciting opportunity for a Psychotherapist / Counsellor with relevant post qualifying experience in working with young people / young adults with complex mental health and psychosocial issues to join the Off Centre team. We provide outcome focussed interventions that support resilience and / or recovery. You will be a warm, empathic individual with an ability to relate to young people and work as part of a team.
Off Centre provides early access help for young people age 16-25 with moderate to severe mental health problems. It facilitates the transition to adult services where appropriate, improves the mental well-being of young people by providing early interventions including individual, time limited and outcome focussed psychotherapy / counselling / arts psychotherapies, accessible drop in provision, therapeutic group work and keywork support.
Main Responsibilities:
· To carry out clinical and holistic, initial assessments of service users’ needs and suitability for service, including assessing risk and safeguarding issues, co-design outcome focussed treatment plan with young adult, utilizing agreed assessment and outcome tools such as CORE 10, PHQ 9 and GAD 7.
· To carry and maintain a caseload of service users receiving individual counselling / psychotherapy applying specialist knowledge and techniques of counselling / psychotherapy where appropriate during interventions. In addition, undertake the associated case management and administrative work in accordance with clinical and funding requirements. You will also co-facilitate the weekly Drop In on Thursday evenings.
· To keep excellent and up-to-date records of work with service users at all times, adhering to confidentiality and information sharing protocols in conjunction with safeguarding requirements.
· To advise and liaise with external partners involved in the mental health and wellbeing needs of clients. Contribute locally as well as regionally, to strategic planning discussions and ensure collaborative working with statutory and voluntary agencies and service providers to ensure a high quality unified service. Ensure that service-users’ views are heard and understood and inform and influence the development of local mental health services’ provision and practice.
Main Requirements (for details check the job description and person specification):
· UK recognised Psychotherapy/Counselling (MA desirable) or equivalent qualification with substantial post-qualifying clinical experience in delivering evidence based psychotherapies with young people or young adults (ideally both) with moderate to severe mental health issues, and with a focus on quality and effectiveness.
· Accredited to a relevant professional Psychotherapy/Counselling body (BACP/UKCP/HCPC).
· You will be able to demonstrate continued professional development and advanced post qualification training in relevant areas which could include areas such DBT, Systemic, Mindfulness and/or EMDR approaches and interventions.
· Appointments are subject to Family Action receiving an enhanced disclosure from the Disclosure and Barring Service that we consider acceptable.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Contract and Services Management
- Informing the future direction and development of the Counselling Team including working closely with the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) and Commissioners internally and externally of the organisation.
- Champion innovation and co-lead the implementation of enchantments to services, and support the implementation of change, best practice and continuous improvement.
- Develop the Swindon and Gloucestershire estate, exploring potential space in the local community, networking with other charities and local businesses to source suitable space to enable the growth and development of the counselling service.
- To manage a caseload of clients, offering sessions in line with the counselling service procedures and policies.
- Ensure counselling sessions and practice is carried out in accordance with the BACP framework and other ethical guidelines.
- Understand and build upon local assets and resources, to enable a holistic and flexible and flexible place-based support structures that are responsive to local needs.
- Develop the service model with a two-tier model of high and low risk, working effectively with the team, Service Manager and SLT.
- Ensure adequate professional supervision is arranged and attended by counsellors, including volunteers.
- Ensure all counsellors meet their allocated CPD hours per year.
- To screen all referrals including self-referrals and professional referrals and assess risk.
- To work closely with practitioners and informing them of when a client is due to exit and if additional support is required.
- To ensure agreed service standards are upheld and monitored using internal evaluations, user feedback, audits etc.
2. Effective Collaboration with External Agencies and Organisations
- Establish effective relationships with key referrers including the Primary Care Networks and Secondary Car Services in your locality, facilitating meaningful two-way dialogue with key stakeholders.
- To work closely with other staff within S&G Mind, including communicating any updates/concerns to practitioners involved with the person as well as internal MDT meetings.
- To build strong relationships with primary and secondary services in relation to smooth referral pathways and transitions for people.
- To extend external meetings/steering groups in relation to self-harm and suicide prevention.
- To build relationships with local colleagues and other training providers for future counselling placements.
3. Team Leadership
- Co- lead and develop your team in partnership with the Service Manager and Senior Leadership Team in delivering recovery-focused, high quality, safe and person-centred care, delivering great outcomes for people using services.
- Provide leadership to the operations of the team, monitoring workload, ensuring staff follow policies and procedures.
- Offer management support and supervision including Personal Development Reviews.
- To be involved with recruitment of new staff including participating on the interview panel and leading induction
- Ensure all counsellors are supported and developed through a job coaching, individual supervision, group supervision, and appraisals, identifying and promptly addressing learning and development needs.
- Ensure consistency, ethical practice and adherence to BACP (or other professional associations) and recommendations for the whole team.
- Monitor staff compliance with S&G Mind policies and procedures.
- Support staff and facilitate regular team meetings.
- Support with delivering debrief meetings and team meetings where required.
- To be involved with recruitment of new staff including participating on the interview panel and leading induction.
- To investigate any incidents reported by staff or people accessing services and follow up the recorded outcomes following S&G Mind policies and procedures.
- To explore complaints made to the Self Harmony Counselling contract and follow the relevant procedures and policies.
- To undertake investigations in line with relevant policies e.g. complaints policy, HR investigation.
- To ensure all counsellors are assessing risk and that risk is managed appropriately in line with the person’s needs and policies/procedure of the service.
- Take part in the on-call support rota when required for services across Swindon & Gloucestershire Mind.
4. KPI’s and Data Excellence
- To monitor and prepare stats and requested outcomes as needed.
- To maintain and manage own client record systems.
- To monitor data including number of sessions provided within the service and time of access.
- To utilise S&G Mind systems to capture, track and monitor performance.
- To manage and monitor the waiting lists, assessments and referral timescales, meeting targets set by management and SLT.
- Produce regular outcome reports demonstrating the effectiveness of the service and highlighting gaps in provision.
- To produce reports in relation to KPI’s and actively look at ways to develop and improve the service.
- To review and monitor authorisation of any extension of sessions, exploring reasons and outcomes for additional sessions
- The role will also include supporting other areas of work and undertake other duties at Swindon & Gloucestershire Mind when needed.

We Are Survivors provide survivor-focused therapeutic and advocacy support to male (including Trans and Non-binary) victims/survivors, and their loved ones, of sexual harms. We have developed a three-tiered approach to services and underpin everything we do with a ‘trauma and recovery’ framework pioneered by Dr Judith Herman.
We are currently commissioned to deliver trauma-informed therapy services in 15 prisons across the Northwest of England and we need your help delivering these services in the following estates:

The Health and Wellbeing Coach will be integrated into the wider multi-disciplinary team of a PCN and Primary Care practice working alongside Social Prescribing Link Workers and practice staff.
The Role
As Health and Wellbeing Coach for Mental Health, you will provide one-to-one and group support (where appropriate) to people who are referred to you by GPs and the wider PCN team, providing low intensity interventions to support patients to manager their own recovery and self-management. Sessions will focus on motivational interviewing, goal setting and action planning with support spanning a short time frame. Patients who are unsuitable for the service should be referred to higher level mental health support through approved pathways.
The Health and Wellbeing Coach will manage a caseload of patients and maintain accurate record keeping to support outcome monitoring and understand trends and emerging needs.
The role will build trusting relationships with people, devising shared plans and agree type of intervention with patients which may include online sessions, group and one to one support in practice or community venues, or telephone support.
The post holder will create strong relationships with primary care staff and wider organisations including Social Prescribers, VCSE Organisations and specialist support agencies as well as Mental Health services in the area.

- Have experience of supporting people in a mental health setting, be this through clinical practice or support work

The role and your key responsibilities
As an Account Manager, your role is to make sure that all partners in your area make the most out of the Unifrog platform.
