This role sits within our children and families directorate, which works to provide immediate one-to-one and group support for children who urgently need support. We are looking for an experienced and dynamic practitioner who shares the ambitions and values of both The Children's Society, our partners, and BBC Children in Need to work directly with children aged 8-13 and their families where appropriate. We're looking for someone who has excellent relational skills and who is familiar with ways of engaging younger children and their families specifically in relation to improving children's emotional health and wellbeing.
The role will be responsible for holding an agreed caseload of children who are struggling with their emotional health and wellbeing, working alongside other agencies to achieve the best possible outcomes and recording the impact you've been able to make on children's lives. You will also utilise The Children's Society digital offer as part of this programme.
BBC Children in Need have appointed an independent learning partner to work along The Children's Society, Children 1st and MACS to identify what we are learning across the programme nationally. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring your work with children and their families is recorded accurately and that the themes from this work are fed into the national learning that is utilised to create positive system changes for children who are struggling
Key responsibilities;
-To deliver 1-1 face-to-face, digital and telephone support to children, aged 8 - 13 struggling with their emotional health and wellbeing and their parents/carers where applicable.
-To assess and support children's self-management of their recovery through step care approach, including informal assessment and Goal Based outcomes for service users.
-To build positive and effective relationships with family members, in particular parents and carers, in order to support their children with their emotional health and wellbeing.
-Where appropriate, to offer interventions directly to parents/carers with the aim of improving the child's emotional health and wellbeing.
-Ensure accurate and timely case recording using a variety of management recording systems. The role does require good administration skills.
-To contribute to the overall monitoring and evaluation of the programme including but not limited to; supporting children and families to share their voice and experience, recording of data and outcomes and gathering feedback from children, parents and carers.
-Identifying risks and/or managing disclosures of a safeguarding nature ensuring that referrals are made whilst escalating where appropriate in line with TCS's safeguarding policy.

Key responsibilities
• With support, establish the Kidney Care UK Money & Energy Advice Service in the region for patients and carers at risk of fuel poverty to access independent support on money and energy matters

Purpose of the role:
The main purpose of the Partnerships Manager role is to lead on the delivery of first-class account management to a diverse portfolio of corporate partners, generating income to support Breaking Barriers’ work. Each partnership at Breaking Barriers is bespoke, comprising fundraising, skilled volunteering, awareness raising and, crucially, placement and job opportunities for our refugee clients.
Working closely with the wider Partnerships Management and Programmes teams, you will be responsible for launching new partnerships and retaining business by deepening relationships and identifying opportunities for growth.
The successful candidate will have experience managing corporate partner relationships, including making fundraising asks and managing external communication with donors and partners at all levels of seniority. You will deploy your influencing skills and ability to build profitable relationships to great effect as you take a leading role identifying and nurturing future strategic partnerships. An understanding of Corporate Social Responsibility would be advantageous.

Sensory Services by Sight for Surrey has been established for over 100 years. We enable and empower people who are Deaf, hard of hearing, blind, partially sighted, and deafblind to overcome barriers and to be as independent as possible.
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our Senior Management Team, and lead our Children and Young People’s Service. The service helps children, young people and families to thrive, by providing a variety of vibrant and impactful services including the Habilitation Service on behalf of the Local Authority.
Principal accountabilities:
1. Provide overarching leadership, and management, to the Children and Young People’s Service (CYPS).
2. Lead, in collaboration with the CYPS Operational Manager, the Surrey County Council contract for Habilitation services ensuring that the Key Performance Indicators are met and reported on, in line with the contractual obligations, and that the contract is secured for the future.
3. Lead, in collaboration with the CYPS Operational Manager, the CYPS Service Facilitator and others, the delivery of outputs and outcomes of a number of grant funded services.
4. Ensure policies and procedures are followed at all times, and to ensure appropriate risk assessments are conducted and maintained.
5. To be the designated Safeguarding Lead for Children and Young People for the charity, working closely with Surrey Safeguarding Children Partnership and other organisations such as Surrey Youth Focus, and internally with the Designated Safeguarding Lead for Adults.
6. To plan and manage the departmental budget for the Children and Young People’s Service, making best use of resources at all times to achieve maximum impact for the people we support across the organisation.
7. Regular reporting to Surrey County Council, Services Committee, Trustee Board, and funders as required.
8. Line management of the CYPS Operational Manager, the Children and Young People’s Service Facilitator, and a number of other direct reports.
9. Support and supervise the team of staff and volunteers to ensure that they perform and work to the agreed standards and in line with our organisational values.
10. Conduct annual appraisals and identify training needs within the team to meet all national standards.
11. Work with the CYPS Operational Manager to succession plan, and manage the training and development of Trainee Habilitation Specialists to ensure the charity is well resourced.
12. Provide information, support and advice for children with vision impairment/ Multi-Sensory Impairment and their families /carers.
13. To develop the service to include children and young people who are Hard of Hearing or Deaf, and their families, working in partnership with other organisations to ensure we add value.
14. To share responsibility for the Charity’s operational decision making with other senior managers.
15. To oversee the management and maintenance of the contract for Children’s statutory register of vision impairment.
16. To work in partnership with internal teams, such as fundraising and communications, to ensure the Children and Young People’s Service is well resourced, and always in line with the charity brand.
17. To develop and manage external partnerships as required
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS
Desirable
- Graduate Diploma in Habilitation and Disabilities of Sight (Children and Young People) or equivalent qualification which specifically meets all the learning outcomes arising from the ‘Quality Standards – Delivery of Habilitation Training (Mobility and Independent Living Skills) for Children and Young People with Visual Impairment (2011)’: Qualification Participant Learning Outcomes.
- Registration with relevant professional body.
- First Aid Certificate (if the successful applicant does not already hold this, they will be required to complete it before starting in post)
- Level 3 Safeguarding qualification (if the applicant does not have an in-date certificate they will be required to complete this before starting in post)
- Communication skills for working with people who are Deaf, or those with Dual Sensory Loss e.g. clear speech, block alphabet, deafblind manual, BSL

YMCA DownsLink Group Dialogue Therapeutic & Family Services offers counselling services for children and young people with physical disabilities, behavioural, social, and emotional difficulties, autism and learning difficulties. The team delivers a multi-modality therapeutic service working with children and young people experiencing mild to moderate mental health difficulties. We work closely with CAMHs, the local authority and a range of voluntary and community sector organisations to deliver effective short-term therapeutic interventions.
We are looking for a Wellbeing Play Therapist to provide 1-1 and group play therapy sessions, triage and assessments, counselling treatment and group work support for children and young people aged 4 - 12. The role is integrated within the Children and Young People Wellbeing Service and the post holder will be required to work with the Counselling Leads, Team Manager, and triage team to support children/young people accessing provision within the emotional well-being and mental health pathways.
Some key responsibilities of the role include assessing Children and Young People (CYP) for suitability for treatment (training will be provided), making decisions on the suitability of new referrals to the service with support from triage teams and the ability to formulate, deliver and evaluate therapy programmes for CYP clients.
