We are looking for someone who would enjoy the challenge of leading a team of staff who have lived experience of many of the issues facing children and young people on the estates of Eltham.

Superkidz Community Trust was founded in 2001 and over the years, has provided children and young people with a safe space to play and to interact with adults who have the time to listen to them. We have developed a model of engagement, Transform Group and Individual Mentoring (TGIM), that puts interaction at the heart – not simply providing activities but ensuring that there are sufficient adults around to engage the young person in conversation and the chance to express worries, self-doubt and concerns.

All our workers are drawn from the local community and many have been beneficiaries of Superkidz themselves. Most have lived experience of the issues facing our young people.

Following the retirement of our founder and Manager, Nick Russell, the Trustees are looking for a leader who will take the charity forward, support staff and help them to feel secure and confident in their abilities, while setting high standards in the workplace.

Job Description

Key accountabilities:

The Manager will:

· Be an integral member of the team delivering Superkidz day to day activities and groups.

· Following consultation with staff service users and the Board prepare a strategy, financial and operational plan that best delivers impact in line with the TGIM theory of change. This should include locations, staffing, activities, income generation and should be fully costed.

· Lead the organisation in the implementation and further development of this strategy in consultation with the Board.

· Proactively use quality and impact information and strategic analysis to inform the development of new programmes of work that improve the lives of beneficiaries.

· Ensure that systems and processes are in place to manage, monitor and report on all compliance issues including; safeguarding, health and safety, and risk.

· Take accountability for financial decisions that protect the charity’s funds, ensuring the charity is sustainable and fulfils the requirements of the relevant regulatory bodies.

· Ensure that there is an appropriate funding strategy in place to secure the greatest possible diversity of income, through commissions, grants, donations, fundraising and social enterprise trading, and lead on the delivery of subsequent plans.

· Lead on the effective management of all aspects of Superkidz services and staff team, ensuring that staffing systems and procedures are up to date, regularly reviewed, and fulfil legal requirements.

· Oversee and lead on the development of staff to ensure that all teams and individuals have the opportunity for development and can work at the highest level of performance. Mentor and cultivate the existing skills of staff, providing them with a platform to grow.

· Ensure that all Superkidz services are delivered in line with all external and internal quality standards and in line with commissioners/funders requirements.

· Develop and lead on a marketing and PR strategy that promotes Superkidz, raises awareness, and increases client and funder engagement.

· Develop and lead on an effective communications strategy, both internal and external.

· Lead on the strategy to assess and develop opportunities for collaborations, alliances, and partnerships that deliver increased impact and lead to financial sustainability.

· With the Fundraising Liaison Manager, demonstrate leadership in key strategic relationships with public bodies, funders, corporate sponsors and other external stakeholders, through a range of communications, networks and events.

· Ensure full, timely, accurate and effective communication with the Board of Trustees and any sub-committees of the Board.

· Ensure that all decisions made in the course of the role are made according to current legislation and in line with all instruments of governance.

Following their sons’ diagnosis of Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD), Emily Reuben and Alex Johnson founded Duchenne UK in 2012. We are an ambitious, dynamic and impactful charity. 

DMD is a devastating progressive condition diagnosed in early childhood which causes all the muscles in the body to gradually weaken. There are currently only very limited treatment options for DMD, so Emily and Alex set up Duchenne UK to change this. 

Since 2012, we have raised more than £27 million to end the devastating impact of DMD.  We fund ground-breaking scientific research to find effective treatments. We’ve developed the infrastructure of DMD clinical trial delivery in the UK. We engage industry and regulators to accelerate access to treatments. And we’re here to support every family affected and ensure that they receive the best possible care. We aim not only to improve quality of live but stop the disease in its tracks. Job Description

This role plays a key part in advancing the fundraising of Duchenne UK to enable more investment into research, advancing treatments and supporting the DMD community.  A core part of this will be building relationships with key supporters, including our incredible Family and Friends Funds, corporate supporters and community of fundraisers.

You will be central to the development and delivery of key events and campaigns throughout the year to achieve ambitious fundraising targets. You will have budget management responsibilities and provide insight into activities to drive improvements and further success in future years.

The role will contribute to overall fundraising growth; ensuring the guiding engagement and fundraising principles are delivered, and that all fundraising delivers an exceptional and remarkable donor experience to which Duchenne UK prides itself.

Fundraising and business development

• Community
  • Key relationship manager for Duchenne UK Family and Friends Funds, engaging them through fundraising, supporting third party events and providing regular project and charity updates
  • Develop and implement the Family Fund and Community Fundraising stewardship strategy

  • Develop and deepen existing donor relationships, ensuring that the organisation maintains effective communications and good relations with our donors at every level and that they are updated on our work and impact
  • Oversee management of regular giving, including working with the Communications team to promote this type of giving. Provide stewardship to Regular Givers, with support from the Fundraising Assistant.
  • Lead the identification and development of new income sources with the support of the Fundraising team to increase donations, improve the profile of Duchenne UK and enhance our reputation within the donor community; including corporate partnerships, fundraising campaigns, third party activity, challenge events, regular giving and legacy

Respect is seeking a Fundraising Manager to develop and deliver a fundraising strategy in-line with Respect’s five-year strategy, Stopping the Harm. This is a new role, which will be positioned within the Influence team, with some administrative support from the Operations team.

About the role:

The fundraising team raise approximately £400K annually and aspiring to grow by over half a million by 2025. You will be responsible for leading and growing income via the charities Corporate Partnerships and Sporting Challenges. The ideal candidate will have high-level experience in corporate fundraising.

Key responsibilities include:

• Provide excellent account management to some of the charities existing and new corporate relationships.
• Carry out effective prospect research.
• Engage companies in our sporting challenges.

About you:

To be successful in this role you will have:

• A proven track record of successfully managing a charity’s corporate partnerships and sporting challenges.
• Good knowledge of the principals of customer service/supporter care and donor development.
• Sound knowledge of GDPR and the impact on fundraising in terms of on-going consent and deletions of donors.
• Significant experience of working within a charity in a similar fundraising role.
• Experience of developing new fundraising products and building a programme of engagement to grow fundraising income.
• Experience of managing events, preferably sporting challenge events.
• Excellent digital skills with experience of using a variety of online platforms, including website editing, image re-sizing, social media, and e-news content creation.

About the Role

The role of Fundraising Manager is an important role for the highly ambitious fundraising team. As Fundraising Manager you will;

• Develop, implement and lead on fundraising strategies focussed on the main income areas of Community, Events and Corporate fundraising
• Lead, develop and effectively manage a multi-functional, high performing fundraising team, monitoring the operational activities of the team to ensure delivery, evaluation and learning
• Lead the annual fundraising planning process to produce effective budgets and strategies to achieve income targets across the range of revenue streams. Analyse income performance through a range of metrics, focussing on ROI to support the development and expansion of fundraising activity and new Initiative
• Carry out wider research to identify and develop new fundraising campaigns and initiatives, keeping up to date with trends in fundraising

About You

You must have proven experience in fundraising with a focus on Community, Corporate and Events. You must have experience of leading a team as well as excellent project management skills. You must also have managed relationships with Volunteers as well as have used a CRM System to generate fundraising leads and build a pipeline.

Role Overview:

Reporting to the Head of Growth & Branding, the Fundraising Manager will be responsible for overseeing and managing the fundraising function across Enable’s diverse services. 

This role will play a pivotal part in developing and implementing the Fundraising strategic objectives moving forward, as well as act in a coordination capacity to ensure all Enable services are aligned in relation to Fundraising. 

The Growth Team is a newly created team at Enable. They will be responsible for accelerating growth and development throughout our services and bringing Enable’s Strategic Plan to life! Main Duties/Responsibilities: 

• Lead the Fundraising workstream, under the strategic direction of the Leadership Team, with the aim of diversifying funding streams and maximising outcomes 
• Provide comprehensive market analysis and research regarding future prospects from trusts and foundations, corporates and statutory sources
• Work closely with Enable’s various services to support fundraising efforts and providing central communication and coordination between internal services in relation to tracking funding/bids/grants etc 
• Development of pipeline of funding opportunities

Skills and Experience: 

• Proven Fundraising experience within a not for profit environment 
• Networking skills, ideally with a pre-existing network of funder relationships
• Passion for fundraising, project work and a drive to positively impact the community
• Excellent research skills, which can be used to identify new funders, assess the external market, and understand our users’ needs 
• Experience with writing and managing bids and grants 
• Ability to work independently using your own initiative and prioritise effectively
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to engage and liaise effectively with diverse stakeholders, both internal and external
• Proficient in MS applications such as Word, Excel, Outlook and SharePoint

Main Responsibilities:

• Project manage, deliver, and develop fundraising campaigns across various channels including direct mail, email, digital, social media, radio, press inserts, and advertising.

Apart of Me stands with young people all over the world who experience loss, and have limited access to support services; we do that through our unique design-led approach to innovation.

Our journey began 10 years ago when our founder, Louis Weinstock, recognised an urgent need for accessible, early intervention support for grieving young people. Since then, Apart of Me has grown into a multi-award-winning charity, making a tangible difference in the lives of vulnerable young people.

Our first service, the therapeutic mobile game 'Apart of Me,' guides young people through grief, with over 125,000 users since its launch. It has won numerous awards, including NHS App of the Month, and has been proven to help users understand their feelings, and feel calmer and less alone.

THE ROLE

As our first Fundraising Manager, you’ll have the opportunity to shape our fundraising strategy, with a particular emphasis on creativity and innovation. You’ll help us nurture our current donors and find creative ways to generate income from diverse revenue streams, so we can can continue to innovate as we develop our vital support to young people and grow our impact.

HOW CAN YOU HELP APART OF ME?

• Develop and regularly refresh our fundraising strategy and roadmap.
• Identify and nuture potential new partnerships and funding opportunities, building and implementing our corporate partnership strategy.
• Encourage private and corporate donations by collaborating with Marketing to create engaging and compelling content and collateral promoting Apart of Me.
