The Role
Research and identify new business opportunities using all the tools available including networking and existing contacts

About the role

Right now, the Partnerships and National Engagement Team is in an incredibly exciting period of growth, as Partnerships Development Manager you will play a pivotal role in building new transformational partnerships which support Crisis new ten-year strategy.

Working as part of a friendly and enthusiastic team you will be you will be responsible for identifying, nurturing and developing a robust pipeline of new partnerships, with value-aligned businesses, developing opportunities for us to work together to help us end homelessness in the UK. 

As a key member of the Partnerships Development Team, you will be expected to deliver significant growth in Crisis corporate income and personally secure six and seven figure partnerships and sponsorships.

About you

To be successful in this role, you will be a highly motivated, target-driven fundraiser who relishes the opportunity to develop innovative, creative, and strategic corporate partnerships. You will have a track record of pitching, securing, managing, and growing six and seven figure partnerships in the third (or equivalent) sector, coupled with excellent relationship management skills with internal and external stakeholders. You are self-motivated and able to work on your own initiative, but you also enjoy collaborating with colleagues.

We are looking for a personable and intuitive candidate with excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to tailor communication style to achieve maximum impact upon relevant situations and audience.

Key Responsibilities

• To deliver your fundraising target through the oversight and significant growth of your caseload of supporters. Using research, networking and your existing contacts to onboard new partners and create a 3 year pipeline of prospects enabling our income and support to underpin the organisation’s vision and mission.
• Deliver exceptional proposals, reports, engagement opportunities and updates in a timely manner using your knowledge and experience to champion our donor needs, develop effective comms to your accounts and work collaboratively with the wider team to ensure the impact data, engagement opportunities, policies and stories are presented to win and renew funding, measured against financial targets, renewal % and average gift levels.
• Develop the customer experience for your caseload to world class standard. Review and enhance existing processes, engagement tools and materials to ensure they are contributing towards strong and sustained relationships with supporters. Ensure gifts and donor relationship information is accurately recorded, processed, thanked and reported on in a timely and confidential fashion using Raisers Edge and developing a strong relationship with the Giving Team and other internal stakeholders.
• Communicate effectively and accurately with other entity Fundraising Teams. Support and collaborate with wider fundraising opportunities and to attend all relevant fundraising team meetings to have a rounded understanding of what we are trying to achieve in our fundraising across the group.
• Responsible for keeping updated on relevant fundraising and volunteering best practice, regulations and opportunities. Ensuring you undertake the training offered to you, proactively seek out learning opportunities within the third sector and Christian or Corporate philanthropy networks.
• Other ad hoc projects as they arise. Including but not limited to working with our network to facilitate partnership opportunities with Churches and LYN Hubs, being willing to support with advice for developing their local fundraising. Attending and supporting donor events, ongoing research and improving team and wider working practices.  

The Right Candidate

• A 3 year track record of demonstrable growth in income against targets.
• Experience of identifying and developing funding partnerships using research, networking and delivering timely proposals for funding and engagement with a high conversion rate.
• Able to accept responsibility for personal targets and demonstrate ability to contribute to wider team KPIs.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to create effective communication for both Christian and secular audiences.
• A good working knowledge of MS Office and CRM Databases.

Governance Manager

CAFOD is seeking a Governance Manager to temporarily support our Leadership & Governance team. Reporting directly to CAFOD’s Director and managing the Leadership & Governance Officer, you will play a critical role in ensuring effective governance, strategic leadership, and strong Trustee relations during this interim period. This is a part-time position requiring two days of commitment per week for approximately six months.

Key Responsibilities

During the period of cover, some of the key responsibilities include:  

Governance & Strategic Leadership 

• Providing oversight of CAFOD’s Governance work & assisting in the further development and funding of CAFOD’s governance. 

• Identify emerging trends in governance and ensure that learning is reflected in CAFOD’s work and proposals. 

• Working with the relative department heads to advise the Leadership Team on the likely impact of new initiatives on CAFOD’s current strategy.

Regional Manager.

A bit about the role
In this exciting role the successful candidate will drive the regional fundraising strategy with focus on the growth of unrestricted income by galvanising fundraising support from a growing sports portfolio, regional corporates, volunteer fundraising groups and the public.
This post will focus within the Community team, to achieve agreed financial income targets and relevant KPI's.

How you'll help to create brighter futures

- Manage and deliver fundraising campaigns and activities that fall within Community Fundraising.
- Manage the research and development of regional corporate partners and volunteer group prospects.
- Secure support and introductions to potential new regional corporate supporters and organisations/clubs.
- Secure and set up 'Action Squads', for volunteer led fundraising groups.
- Secure support for the sports portfolio, maximising own place sign ups and income raised through a series of participation events.
- Always demonstrate accountability to supporters and volunteers and operating with openness, honesty, transparency.
- Manage and deliver on set financial targets and outcomes.
- Monitor and analyse financial income and expenditure.
- Identify, develop and maintain relationships, both internal, external including key stakeholders.
- Regular travel throughout the region will be expected.

Let's talk about you 

- Professional Institute of Fundraising qualification (desirable).
- Membership of IoF (desirable).
- Demonstrable track record of continual achievement leading and delivering fundraising in excess of £250k.
- Substantial experience of devising and implementing successful fundraising for at least two of the following areas: New Business Development, Charity of the Year, Key Account Management, and Volunteer Committee led Events to deliver income growth.
- Experience of delivering high value events and managing corporate boards.
- Knowledge and understanding of tax efficient giving in the UK.
- Ability to crisis manage as appropriate to ensure a safe and professional delivery of all events and fundraising activities.
- Full understanding of all current Health and Safety legislation for running events and experience in carrying out risk assessments as appropriate.
- Proven experience of networking and of developing and stewarding excellent personal relationships.

About the role

We are looking for an experienced business development professional with an excellent track record of securing corporate partnerships. You’ll be an enthusiastic, proactive and relationship-focussed individual confident to work towards driving growth within the charity. You’ll work alongside the CEO and Head of Marketing to increase the number of partners we work with specifically focusing on our mentor development programme Break the Wall. 

Responsibilities

• Generate leads and foster new partnerships with companies across the creative industries. You’ll attend pitches, write proposals and negotiate comfortably and with confidence.

• Create outbound leads. You’ll be setting up email campaigns and tracking the progress of new partnerships.

• Maintain and develop strong relationships with existing partners to ensure high renewal rates

Arthritis Action is the UK charity giving hands-on, practical help to improve the quality of life of people affected by arthritis. They offer an integrated self-management approach, which looks at both the physical and mental health impact of living with arthritis. They support people living with musculoskeletal conditions through healthy eating advice, mental health resources, pain management techniques, Online Groups, employment support, and exercise advice and resources.

This is a part-time role, 4 days a week (30 hours per week). This role is hybrid, with travel to the London based office two days a week (Monday and Wednesday). The salary range for this role is £45,000-£50,000 pro rata. 

The Finance Manager & Company Secretary role is a dual role where you will ensure efficient and effective planning and management of the charity’s finances and take charge of secretarial duties. Within this role, you will develop and maintain accounting systems, control and records, while ensuring the charity is compliant with statutory and regulatory requirements. The postholder will ensure appropriate financial policy and procedures are in place, to deliver effective financial management and decision making. You will produce management accounts, oversee financial reporting and assist with legacy administration. You will manage relationships with a variety of external financial advisors and insurers.

You will play a key role managing the charity’s secretarial duties. These responsibilities include submitting information to Companies House and the Charity Commission. You will work closely with the Executive Management team, maintaining legal and financial documents, while ensuring they are filed securely, providing regular information/documentation. You will attend Board and committee meetings, ensure processes and regulations are followed and take minutes in these meetings.

To be considered for this role, you will have a professional accountancy qualification – ACCA, ACA or equivalent. You will have demonstrable experience overseeing preparation of statutory, management accounts and audit processes. You will have experience of charity accounting, reporting and legacy administration. You will have experience using accounting software and Microsoft Office. You will also have the ability to explain financial processes to non-finance staff.

You will have experience working in corporate governance and the ability to handle confidential information. You will have excellent communication skills and be able to maintain relationships with Board members and internal and external stakeholders. You will have strong negotiation skills. Overall purpose

The Senior Communications Manager is responsible for developing, leading and implementing key aspects of our communications and engagement strategy. Your focus will be to maintain our high reputation and build engagement with key audiences – principally target public audiences, corporate partners, funders and supporters, volunteers, clients, and staff. 

Bridging the gap between senior leadership and delivery, you will be a confident and strategic thinker, but remain excited by the challenge of getting stuck in. You will be comfortable supporting colleagues to deliver activity as well as working independently on your own projects. You will have the knowledge and experience to ensure that the right policies, frameworks and plans are in place for our small team to achieve ambitious plans.

The Senior Communications Manager is responsible for campaigns, PR, content and storytelling, brand and creative, and plays an integral role in internal communications. They also support other external engagement activities, such as digital marketing campaigns, corporate partner acquisition and retention, and public fundraising.

Strong copywriting is essential for this role. You will be able to write, edit, and tailor content for different audiences, and publish it across various channels, including the website, social media, emails, and marketing materials. 

You will enjoy variety. Your day could involve operational planning, developing a new campaign, briefing freelancers and agencies, finding compelling stories, creating our Impact Report, speaking with journalists, working on internal communications, or drafting social media posts.

The successful candidate will have strong emotional intelligence, relationship building and negotiation skills. They will be collaborative and creative, drive projects forward, work effectively alongside the Senior Digital Marketing Manager, and bring people together across the organisation. They will provide supportive, effective management to the Communications and Campaigns Officer, and be an internal advocate for the impact our Communications and Engagement can have.
