The role is in our Digital team, which reports to the Chief Operating Officer, but since the website encompasses all aspects of our work from service delivery and information provision to PR and fundraising, this role works collaboratively with all teams.
Initially the role will help the team to plan the content workstream, agreeing roles, responsibilities, timescales and success measures. This role would work then as part of a cross-team editorial effort with key stakeholders to create the new webpages, keeping colleagues informed and engaged throughout the project. Once the site goes live, you would help with aftercare and making sure the site gets off to a good start, making any additional edits or new content as needed based on performance and feedback. Towards the end of the contract, post-launch, this role would help to upskill and support selected colleagues in other teams to take more hands-on responsibilities with website content creation and governance as part of a new, decentralised approach.
The ideal candidate will have strong planning, organisational and workflow management skills. They will also have proven experience of creating and adapting user-centred, engaging and successful content for websites – primarily including text, images and graphics, but also video – ensuring output answers its brief, supports brand and strategic objectives, and is fit for purpose, channel and audience.

The Fundraising & Marketing Manager will take the lead in developing and implementing our fundraising and marketing strategies, splitting your time about 60/40 between the two functions. About the Role
Sense is recruiting for a Copywriter & Content Producer to join our fantastic Brand and Content Team in Kings Cross, London on a hybrid basis.
As we head into our 70th anniversary year, our ambitions are bolder than ever. We want to reach and support more disabled people across the country to create a world where all disabled people are included and connected, no matter what. This role is responsible for producing multi-channel content in numerous formats and writing compelling copy that increases engagement, to help make our bold plans a reality.
The Brand and Content Team manages content production for departments across the organisation, whilst also creating content to meet our own strategic goals. You’ll play a key role in this by shaping the creative and strategic direction of content to meet the needs of organisation wide activity, identifying content development opportunities, producing engaging copy and ensuring our brand is consistently represented.
You’ll work closely with colleagues in the team and be a point of support for colleagues around the organisation, to ensure effective production of relevant and engaging copy and content that works.
The main duties and responsibilities include:
- Plan, write and edit copy to deadline for use across a broad range of digital and offline media. Copy that is audience-centred, accessible and always reflects our tone of voice.
- Editorial and end to end production responsibility for our twice-yearly magazine, Talking Sense, and Sense impact reports.
- Quality check and consult on all external content and communications (graphic, video and editorial), ensuring it is accurate, accessible, inclusive, engaging, diverse, on brand and aligned with our strategic organisational objectives.

To succeed in this role, you will have:
- Experience working in a content, creative or digital team, in-house or at an agency.
- Excellent written English: ability to write and edit compelling, accessible, and concise copy for different audiences, including people living with complex disabilities, supporters, professionals, partners and colleagues.
- Experience writing targeted copy for specific audiences and communication channels.
- Ability to think creatively about content solutions to meet audience needs as well as organisational goals.
- An understanding and awareness of content trends, digitally literate and social media savvy with strong knowledge of content tailoring for different digital channels.
- Working across the creative and content development process including scoping, brief writing, concepting, scheduling, creative reviews and production.
- Proven knowledge of producing accessible and on-brand content in a wide range of formats for a variety of digital and offline channels.

What the job involves
This is an exciting new role within our Integrated Marketing and Media department, managing a talented Media and PR team, creating impactful moments that inspire action and drive change for men.
You’ll be responsible for developing our media and PR approach, ensuring prioritisation to deliver our Communications strategy and campaign objectives. You’ll contribute to future planning, crisis planning, and measuring impact by tracking and evaluating our PR results.
You’ll work with our paid media agency to maximise our media partnerships, ensuring all our work delivers for men. You’ll work alongside our creative content team to help men affected by prostate cancer share their stories and build strong relationships with our spokespeople and key stakeholders.

About the role
The principal responsibility will be to support our ambition to become a best practice national body and an employer of choice, responsible for the day-to-day management of the HR function within Emmaus UK, as well as the development of our approach to in-house learning and delivery of our new People & EDI Strategy.
The role will be responsible for all aspects of Human Resources at Emmaus UK, overseeing the whole employee lifecycle, from recruitment and induction processes to offboarding and exit interviews.
The postholder will oversee HR processes, reviewing their effectiveness and identifying and embedding improvements to improve the employee experience.
Working with the Director of Resources, the role will be central to the delivery of the strategic objectives with an HR focus, while taking responsibility for the operational HR function to ensure a positive and supportive working environment for the staff team.

The newly created role of HR Manager will sit within the Resources directorate, to support the delivery of key charity and federation-wide objectives, as part of our mission to empower people affected by homelessness and poverty to change their lives for the better while using our voice to achieve social change.

1. JOB PURPOSE
AKF(UK) Partnerships Managers are part of the Global Aga Khan Foundation (AKF) Partnerships team tasked with identifying and cultivating new funding partnerships and strengthening existing ones to support our strategic goals. They engage with European and Asian government, foundation, and corporate donors to mobilise resources for ten multisector profit and not-for-profit agencies of the Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN) operating across Asia and Africa. In addition, Partnership Managers are responsible for a portfolio of select grants implementing across AKDN themes and geographies in close collaboration with field units, global teams, and our partners.

4. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND CORE TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES
4.1 Securing resources
- Coordinate, facilitate, and lead the development, review, and quality assurance of expressions of interest, concept notes and full proposals for funding opportunities;
- Liaise and coordinate with internal stakeholders as well as with donors, partners, and consortia to facilitate project design, align proposal and donor requirements, gather required legal and administrative documentation, and draft sections of proposals as needed;
- Coordinate processes of contracting and negotiation, engaging relevant stakeholders, and ensuring contracts ‘get over the line’ in a timely and efficient way;
- When needed, provide direct hands-on support at field level in design of concept notes, proposals, and budgets and conduct donor or field visits to support discussions with new and existing donors/partners;
- Contribute to management systems, such as the Award Information Management System (AIMS).
4.2 Grant management
- Manage and monitor a portfolio of grants through regular interface and coordination with AKF(UK)’s partnerships team, AKF(UK)’s finance team and relevant AKF/AKDN agencies/field units, acting as a central resource for field units in donor best practice;
- Interface with donors and communicate on a regular basis about the implementation of on-going grants to ensure strong, enduring relationships;
- Ensure strong relationship cultivation throughout the grants cycle, anticipate, and plan for future funding and project extensions;
- Oversight, coordination, review, and quality assurance of donor deliverables (e.g. work plans, monitoring and evaluation plans, staffing plans, budgets, close-out plans, donor troubleshooting);
- Ensure adherence with donor requirements, rules, and regulations, and that grant deliverables are produced on time and to a high standard;
- Coordinate contractual amendments, changes, and project adaptations, engage with donors in a pro-active and diplomatic way, and flag potential changes (e.g. budget revisions, extensions, risks) in advance to ‘trouble shoot’ and ensure smooth project implementation;
- Facilitate grant monitoring efforts including routine coordination meetings, donor steering committees, donor project visits, and donor monitoring missions;
- Undertake coordination and administrative tasks related to grants and support the maintenance and update of grant management tools and tracking systems such as AIMS.
4.3 Donor engagement and positioning
- Support the partnership unit in researching, sourcing relevant information, and performing analysis of market trends on new donors, peer organisations, and funding opportunities to identify potential funding and partnering matches for AKF and AKDN priorities;
- Work with country teams, AKDN agencies, and the Global Programmes Team (GPT) to identify, build, and support strategic partnerships on aligned global and regional initiatives, innovations and themes with likeminded donors and partners;
- Develop positioning materials (e.g. presentations, capability statements, briefs, talking points), collaborating with communications teams, to enable effective donor engagement;
- Engage with new and existing donors and partners to identify solicited and unsolicited funding opportunities;
- Guide teams to make informed, effective decisions on which opportunities to pursue (including ‘Go No-Go’ requests);
- Identify, cultivate, and pre-position with partner organisations to form or join consortia focused funding bids;
- Conduct due diligence on new partners in coordination with finance and partnerships teams.
4.4 Influencing development and communicating practical lessons and results
- Support the influencing of the development sector by convening and participating at events (e.g. conferences, roundtables, policy forums) to share lessons, innovations and knowledge about our programmes that position us as ‘thought leaders’;
- Engage communications teams to identify opportunities and support the development of content (e.g. social media campaigns, videos) that promote AKF and AKDN’s work and position us as ‘partners of choice’ in the sector. Carry out any other duties as assigned by the Deputy Regional Director of Partnerships or Regional Director of Partnerships.
5. QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE, BEHAVIOURS, ATTRIBUTES
5.1 Qualifications
- Undergraduate degree essential;
- Postgraduate degree in a relevant field preferrable.

- A minimum of 2 years of experience working in international organisations or donor agencies, including field-level implementation or management, and at least 5 total years of professional experience;
- Experience in resource mobilisation and developing relationships, including direct experience with European (EU, Germany, Norway, Sweden, UK) and Asian donors;
- Experience in developing and writing donor proposals and arguments, business cases, concept papers, briefs, executive summaries, as well as coordinating multiple inputs from a variety of sources, and simultaneously managing a variety of relationships;
- Experience developing budgets and business plans;
- Proven success in managing grants in complex organisations with numerous stakeholders.
