Strategy
• Work with the Board to successfully deliver the CiC future ambitions and 5-Year Roadmap. Specifically, lead the 5-Year Financial Plan; the Organisational Development Plan – including the 12-month Operational Plan; and the 5-Year People Plan
• Ensure organisational readiness to ensure TMS can respond positively and at pace to new opportunities
• Lead the development and implementation of the TMS 5-Year Financial Plan to support delivery of the 5-Year Roadmap
• Support the Business Development Officer (BDO) to deploy effective horizon scanning and networking to keep abreast of relevant international, national and local opportunities that provides opportunities for business development and community impact.
Governance
- Lead oversight of project delivery and responsibility for flagging matters for escalation as appropriate to the Board
- Lead operational management and administration of TMS within the frameworks established by the Board
- Ensure the Board are kept fully updated and advised in line with the 5-Year Roadmap. Specifically, lead the 5-Year Financial Plan; the Organisational Development Plan – including the 12-month Operational Plan; and the 5-Year People Plan
- Lead development, implementation and adherence of TMS policies and procedures and ensure they are regularly reviewed against current best practice
- Ensure that TMS meets all of its obligations as a CiC with all regulatory and compliance bodies
- Implement, manage and develop the TMS Operational and Delivery Governance framework on behalf of the Board
- Co-ordinate monthly reporting and provision of performance data to support delivery of the TMS Operational and Delivery Governance framework
- Work closely with the TMS Finance partners and management team to formulate budgets and forecasts
- Keep the Board appraised of the financial performance and position of TMS, monitor against budgets/forecasts and take any necessary corrective action
- Ensure that all major risks to which TMS is exposed are regularly reviewed and systems have been established to mitigate these
- Management of the day to day running of contracting.
People, Leadership and Management
- Lead the recruitment, education, training and development plan supporting the TMS CiC Team
- Provide leadership that promotes and establishes the CiC values: Collaborative Partnership Working; Continuous Learning & Improvement; Recognising Difference & Equality; Maximising Contribution of Outputs for the Community
- Directly manage, support and motivate staff through the provision of regular supervision and appraisal
- Take active responsibility for your personal learning and development, and promote and support a learning culture across the organization
- Lead the development and implementation of the 5-Year People Plan, including the training and development plan, to support delivery of the 5-Year Plan
- Lead the development and delivery of the internal communication, education and engagement plan and related audit activities
- Lead the development and implementation of the TMS performance management and appraisal processes.
Business Development
• Support the BDO by providing operational components and delivery requirements for inclusion within new business contracts
• Support the BDO to plan and deliver the new business proposals.
Partnerships & Community Impact
· Develop a clear understanding of the TMS community and the role of TMS in developing activities which deliver its social purpose
· Support the BDO to maintain and develop strong relationships with members of the TMS community in order to identify opportunities for delivering community impact.
Quality
• Ensure that all TMS services are delivered to a high standard, and to identify, recommend and implement measures to improve the quality of services
• Ensure the organisation continues to demonstrate good quality by compliance with the quality requirements of service agreements, and with existing quality marks and accreditations
• Ensure management of projects to meet stakeholder expectations with a focus on quality and continuous improvement.
Marketing, External Communication & PR
• Support the BDO to be an ambassador and spokesperson for TMS at events, meetings and other networking activities with key stakeholders in order to promote TMS.
• Support the BDO to maintain and develop effective networks with principal stakeholders and TMS collaborators within respective area of responsibilities outlined in the 5-Year Roadmap.

You will be contributing to the transformation of community mental health services across Camden.

This is an exciting opportunity to join our new service supporting Carers across City of London to improve their health and wellbeing, and access support that meets their needs. We are working with Carers from a range of cultures, and it would be an advantage to speak Bengali.
The team work holistically with Carers to understand their individual circumstances and level of need. You’ll carry out home visits and community-based meetings, co-produce support plans, and develop effective relationships with Carers, families, and professionals. You will also support Carers to complete written forms and applications, draft letters, and advocate with third parties.
You’ll build on your local knowledge to signpost and facilitate access for Carers to support services, including financial and benefit advice, housing, health and safety home systems, and leisure and social activities. You will also support the development of escalation plans so that Carers are prepared for unforeseen circumstances that would impact negatively on ability to care.
Together with colleagues, you will plan and deliver the service’s activity package, including coffee mornings, drop-in sessions, activities, online and face to face groups, and peer support forums. There will also be opportunities to promote the service by attending meetings and forums, and to deliver training sessions to professionals and community organisations so that they have the skills to identify Carers.
Applicants should have relevant personal or professional experience of working with Carers and/or vulnerable adults or children in a social care, health, education or voluntary and community sector.
This is a full-time position and you should be an excellent communicator and able to motivate and empower others. You’ll need a practical understanding of barriers faced by Carers, and an awareness of cultural differences and access to services.

This will attract and support our community by making our services local, appropriate, and accessible to those who mainly do not access mainstream services. This will include advocacy and representative services in order for people to secure welfare benefits, enabling people to access the financial benefits they are entitled to.
This will support people experiencing mental and physical health issues, substance misuse, facing legal issues, those who require debt management, threatened with eviction, domestic abuse, and bereavement. This will be done mainly on an outreach basis across Manchester, supporting people in their own homes, in care homes, hospital and where they are resettled to their home environment.
The overall aim of the service is to improve quality of life, access to appropriate support services and improved health and wellbeing outcomes by acting as an advocate and to negotiate with other agencies, where necessary, on our client’s behalf.
Key Responsibilities:
- To make contact with members of the Irish and Traveller communities across Manchester.
- To provide Advocacy and Support via outreach, accompanying to appointments, advocacy to other agencies to address presenting needs who are vulnerable and ‘at risk’ through age, poor physical or mental health, homelessness, risk of homelessness, drug and alcohol use, offending, abuse, and social and cultural isolation.

EXCITING BRAND NEW ROLE!
We are seeking a confident individual, ideally with lived experience of the Armed Forces life to manage all elements of volunteering for our Armed Forces Community project in the Northwest of England, as part of the "Thrive Together" Veterans' Places, Pathways & People Programme (VPPP) in the same region.
This is a part time home-based role with extensive travel, where required, across Merseyside, Greater Manchester, Lancashire and Cumbria. Hours are flexible to suit, but will be between Monday to Friday.
A mobile phone, laptop and training is provided. You will need to be a car driver and have access to a car which is essential (business mileage is paid).

Due to expanding projects and workloads, an opportunity has arisen for a finance worker within our Transforming Churches and Communities team.
You will be responsible for supporting the bookkeeping functions for our clients, additionally liaising on invoicing, recharges, expenses, assessment calculations and billings, payments, and reporting. You will also need to maintain good financial control and governance, in line with relevant policies. Attention to detail, and responsiveness to client queries are essential. You will be the primary point of contact for the client. Our clients are frequently volunteers, and so demystifying financial processes and explaining them clearly is a vital skill.
As an organisation, we work predominantly with the Methodist Church of Great Britain, although not exclusively. Personal adherence to the Christian faith is not required, although you will be required to be respectful of the faith of others.

We are a small and friendly team, with big ambitions to enable and support those communities who need us. Our goal as an organisation is to support charities and churches as they seek to serve their communities and develop, giving them a solid foundation of evidence-based development, and strong governance and management practices.
You will work 3 days per week (21 hours). The annual salary will be £27,613 FTE, which will equate to approximately £16,567 pro rata. Working arrangements are one day a week in our office in Hulme (although more may be needed during training) and two days flexible home working.

About BDCA: BDCA is a dynamic community-led charity that has been serving the residents of the London Borough of Newham since 1998. Our motto is, “working together to change lives and transform our community” and over the past two decades we renovated four previously dead, disused spaces into lively local hubs. From these venues, our diverse team of locally-based staff and volunteers deliver targeted activities for people of every generation from children and their parents, young people and elders too. We also run programmes providing accessible sports, healthy food, poverty support and volunteering. Across all these projects, our mission is to break down barriers, bring people together and build people up.
Job Aim:To lead a fun, engaging and exciting programme of activities for young people across the economically disadvantaged but beautifully diverse E6 area within the London Borough of Newham. You will lead the delivery of BDCA’s Youth project, in line with our commissioning contract with Newham Council’s Youth Empowerment Service. Our project provides the following youth activities in East Ham over 49 weeks of the year for young people aged 9-19:
- Three outdoor Multi Use Games Area sports sessions per week in BDCA’s sports field.
- Three indoor youth hub sessions per week in BDCA’s sports pavilion, which includes workshops such as Junior Gym, screen acting, Muay Thai, healthy cookery sessions, calming crafts and sports.
- Weekly EKO Pathways after school youth club session specifically supporting children who have been excluded from mainstream education due to social, emotional, behavioural and mental health needs.
- Two outdoor parks MUGA session.
- Weekly Youth Theatre Club, led by a local acting workshop facilitator.
- Three-week summer holiday scheme for up to 120 children per day.
- Annual ‘Stepping Up’ youth leadership programme offering training/ mentoring/ paid work experience / accredited Sports Leaders Awards for up to 30 young people each summer.
- Several offsite trips and residentials throughout the year - as often as match funding allows.
