Job Summary
The purpose of the Area Giving and Finance Adviser role is to provide comprehensive finance support to churches within the Stepney Area, aiding them in the development of their ministries, manage Common Fund giving and to support the Area Bishop’s staff team in the management of resources including monitoring clergy post numbers, curate funding, and other financial matters. As part of a small team of Area Giving and Finance Advisers, the role involves offering training, resources, and advice on parish financial management and administration, and advice on various giving methods, including online and contactless options. Additionally, the role entails promoting generous giving through training initiatives, facilitating the award of grants and loans to churches from Area funds, and fostering effective communication and relationship-building between the Area team, Finance team, and parish officers.
Job responsibilities
Financial support

Enable churches to develop their respective ministries, manage their finances effectively, and meet their statutory responsibilities.

Provide finance and other appropriate training, support, resources and advice to the clergy, PCCs and parish officers.

Assist the Bishop, Archdeacons and Area Deans in managing Common Fund giving by the churches in the Area.

Facilitate and monitor the award of grants and loans to churches from Area funds.

Support the Area Bishop’s staff team and Area Council in monitoring the use of Area resources, including post numbers, curate funding and other matters.
Giving

We are looking for an experienced grants fundraiser to join us and make a significant impact on our work with young people in central Doncaster.

Main Responsibilities
- To work delegated idea notes into fundable project profiles, each with a clear and compelling case for support.
- To create a clear and compelling case for support for unrestricted grants income.

- To be responsible for an assigned portfolio of trusts, foundations and similar, developing knowledge of, and relationships with, those funders.

We Are Looking for the Following Skills / Experiences
- A recent track record of success in securing funding through written bids (five figures plus) in a role focused on grants or similar fundraising.
- Experience covering the full cycle of grants fundraising including creating cases for support, submitting applications, responding to requests for information, monitoring and evaluation.
- An understanding of the current UK grants / trusts climate and the types of funders likely to support YMCA Doncaster’s work.
- Exceptionally strong written communication skills, a strong command of grammar and meticulous attention to detail.
- Self-motivated and self-supporting, with the ability to work independently and deal with unexpected or challenging situations including short-notice opportunities.

Reporting to the Community Fundraising Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for leading on all Community Fundraising within their geographical area.

About the role
As the Baby Bank Alliance Partnership Manager, you will collaborate with both Baby Bank Alliance team and our incubating partners—Save the Children UK and Purposeful Ventures—along with our network of baby banks nationwide. Your mission will be to secure vital strategic partnerships, funding and in-kind donations to benefit both the UK baby banks and the Baby Bank Alliance.

You will play a key role in nurturing new and managing existing partnerships, working closely with the corporate and trust fundraising teams within our incubating organisations. In this role, you will:
- Manage and develop existing relationships

- Track and report on partnership performance, using data and feedback to update key stakeholders
- Connect between baby banks and corporate partners with effective coordination and communication. Building relationships and representing the Baby Bank Alliance is key.

We are looking for a Youth Services Manager to manage our youth team and project, empowering young people to feel connected to their community and live to their full potential. Our youth project has been established in the community since 2007, with summer provision, evening drop-ins, after school activities, mentoring and a youth leadership programme.
