About The Role 

The Help for Heroes Community Development team are looking to recruit a team of Community Builders to assist in their reshaped participation and connection strategy. Using Asset Based Community Development, we seek to support the charity’s objective to enhance reach and positive impact for members of the Armed Forces Community facing challenges within their local communities.

We are looking for a motivated, dynamic and confident people who are passionate about collaborating with communities in the design and delivery of interventions that bring and connect people together to strengthen networks within the local community. Working closely with Community Development Managers across regions within the UK, the Community Builders will play a vital role in helping to improve lives for Armed Forces Community members by creating a supportive environment that allows them to re-engage and connect with the services at Help for Heroes and with the wider community. 

The main purpose of this role is to connect local people through their skills, passions and assets and support the creation of new connections, bringing people together to improve wellbeing and make the community a better place to live. This will include listening to different points of views, building relationships and motivating people to work together and create their own action influenced by their interests and skillsets to positively impact local communities and help them to flourish.

About You

You will have experience leading and facilitating the mobilisation of local communities, asset mapping, bringing together people for engagement that matters to them. You will have knowledge and experience of Asset Based Community Development work, outreach methods and you will have good organisational skills, energy and the ability to animate local communities. 

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver outreach to drive local connection, engagement and participation opportunities for the AFC 

• Develop and embed an ABCD informed way of work 

• Asset map 

• Organise and facilitate community meetings to share ideas, encourage collective decision making and build a sense of belonging 

• Encourage and pilot community lead action in response to local AFC needs/interests through peer led/co-designed initiatives 

• Increase awareness of the challenges faced by military personnel, veterans and their families

PLEASE NOTE: The successful candidates will need to be based within an hour’s commute of their allocated locality and there is a requirement to travel within a 75-mile radius of this location (travel expenses covered). Flexibility in working hours is necessary to ensure a total of 70 hours is covered over a 2-week period so please take this into consideration before applying.

• A Community Development qualification and/or at least 3 years' experience working within a community development or similar role, with responsibility for bringing about social change and improving quality of life 

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to develop relationships which lead to actions  

• Demonstrable experience within an integrated multi-disciplinary service  

• Experience of engaging and working collaboratively with partners/stakeholders 

About the Team 

You will work as part of the Community Development team; this newly formed team will approach working in defined localities using an asset based community development approach. Together the Community Development Managers and the Community Builders will strengthen local communities using resources and networks that are readily available. You will do this to proliferate opportunities for sustainable participation and engagement alongside a multi-disciplinary team in order to support the Armed Forces Community to live well after service.

Administration and compliance

This role takes a data-led approach to maximising the impact of our communications to raise the profile of the organisation and achieving business outcomes through strategic communication and marketing efforts.

The role holder will work alongside the wider Communications & Campaigns team to deliver agreed GB-wide communications and manage nation-specific communications as part of an integrated and coordinated programme of communications.

The role holder has an innate connection and understanding of the Welsh context and can adapt and deliver national issues to local audiences, as well as bringing our work in Wales to a national audience across multiple channels.

Key responsibilities

Communications planning

• Work closely with the Ramblers Cymru team to stay abreast of projects and local issues.
• Work with the Strategic Communications Manager to lead a structured communications planning process that ensures key audiences are receiving timely communications in line with their needs, via appropriate channels (GB-wide or nation-specific). A key part of this process will be sequencing to ensure that audiences are not overwhelmed by multiple/fragmented messages.
• Work closely with the broader communications team to develop strategically aligned messaging and campaign assets for both GB-wide and nation-specific communications activities and advocacy campaigns.

Communications Delivery

• Project manage and deliver GB-wide and nation-specific communications activities across owned, earned and (where relevant) paid channels, including managing timeframes and budgets, mobilising other teams, seeking collaboration opportunities with external partners, setting and measuring KPIs

Channel management

• Work in partnership with the Member & Supporter Experience team and the broader communications team to plan and deliver GB-wide and nation-specific member and volunteer communications.
   
• Work in partnership with the Social & Community Officer to present aligned messaging to our audiences, to drive engagement with our posts and to grow the reach of our GB-wide and nation-specific social media channels.

Content Development

• Monitor and analyse communications performance using key metrics and data insights.

2makeit helps rehabilitate prisoners and ex-prisoners by offering them creative expression through programmes using music and the arts, mentoring, advice and guidance.

This part-time, maternity cover role co-ordinating the growth of 2makeit’s work supporting the rehabilitation of offenders in the community is home-based with travel around London and the South East and involves:

The purpose of the post is to work with a wide range of partners and volunteers to build active, more connected and resilient communities within the city of Salford. This includes recruiting, training and supporting volunteers and VCSE organisations to engage in civil contingencies and humanitarian responses within the city, and more broadly supporting the development of our volunteering work across multiple services.

Salford CVS delivers a range of projects and services that build resilient communities and encourage local people to be active citizens.

The postholder will primarily work on our Volunteering and Emergency Response activity, including the development and delivery of Salford CVS’s own volunteering programmes. We’re seeking a dynamic Philanthropy Manager to join our new Business and Partnership Development function. This is a brand-new role for UKCEH, key to identifying and nurturing long-term relationships with charitable trusts and foundations as well as donors. From managing a portfolio of six-figure research projects to leading the development of public donation campaigns, your role is vital for the development and delivery of our strategy for engagement with philanthropic organisations and individuals.

Your main responsibilities will include:

• Lead the development and delivery of UKCEH’s strategy for engagement with philanthropic organisations and individuals 
• Working closely with our science staff to develop pitches suitable to attract funding from philanthropic sources 
• Collaborate with other departments within UKCEH to address potential challenges associated with philanthropic funding (including financial constraints and contractual requirements etc.) 
• With colleagues in the Business and Partnership Development Function, produce the assets and deliver the engagements required to raise our profile to these funders 
• Oversee the ongoing management of our relationships with philanthropic funders 

We are looking for someone with a track record in fundraising, a passion for environmental issues, and the ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders to overcome issues and drive funding success.

For the role of Philanthropy Manager, we’re looking for somebody who: 

• Has a track record of securing six-figure funding from trusts and foundations for research projects 
• Is experienced in developing and nurturing relationships with different profiles of philanthropic funders, such as charitable trusts, high-net-worth individuals or major donors 
• Has proven business and financial acumen to assess strategic opportunities
• Has strong English writing skills for developing high quality funding proposals for philanthropic audiences and reports 
• Has persuasive presentation skills, able to influence decision-making 
• Has strong communication and networking skills
• Has a keen interest in the environment and environmental issues 
• Is keen to travel and engage with philanthropic funders both in the UK and internationally 
• Shows initiative and can work in a team as well as independently
• Is proficient in using software packages including Microsoft Office and CRM systems (like HubSpot, Salesforce or equivalent)

Lead a small team raising the resources and engaging with audiences to support the delivery of wide ranging services helping refugees, asylum seekers and vulnerable migrants to settle and thrive locally. Job Purpose:

Service Management & Development • To develop, oversee and expand existing service provision to meet the requirements of the EWMH services contract with Surrey Wellbeing Partnership. • To promote and publicise the Community Wellbeing Team and EWMH services among relevant agencies, referrers, service users and potential service users.

• To manage referrals into the Community Wellbeing Team and ensure that appropriate data is recorded accurately and kept up to date.

As Senior Special Events Executive, you will significantly contribute to and drive growth in Crisis’ Events Fundraising portfolio. You will have joint responsibility for ensuring that the team income target (£2.3m in 24/25) is achieved, as well as a personal income target.

As part of this role, you will be helping to roll out and embed Crisis’ special events strategy, developing our relationships and ways of working with key individuals and partners.
