In 2024, Tower Hamlets received Trailblazer funding to develop and implement new models of community-based mental health care that integrate clinical and voluntary sector provision, in line with The Community Mental Health Framework.
The Tower Hamlets Mental Health Alliance (THMHA) was formed two years ago to create a bold new community-based mental health support service for Tower Hamlets residents. Alongside THMHA members, Look Ahead, and East London Foundation Trust, we are implementing a new community-based, 24/7 mental health care system that prioritises the tailored needs of individuals facing mental health challenges. The goal is to provide support in a non-hospital setting, preventing the need for more intensive interventions in the future.
Coproduction and Community Engagement (CCE) Coordinator will play a vital role in ensuring the services at the Barnsley Street Project are designed and delivered in true partnership with the local community. As Recruitment Coordinator, you’ll coordinate our volunteer recruitment programme and steward applicants through our processes to become fully onboarded volunteers, ready to support adult learners.
Position: Recruitment Coordinator
Location: Remote/home-working with regular in-person work across London as required (varies according to time of year but an average of once per week, reasonable travel expenses covered)

Your primary responsibilities as Recruitment Coordinator

Key Tasks

- Develop and secure income sources, including grants and commissions and commercial income generation.
- Identify and develop partnership opportunities and manage relationships with funders and other key stakeholders.
- Support the leadership team to prepare budgets and plan and manage the allocation of resource to ensure the efficient and effective delivery of the work programme.

Slough Foodbank believes that no one in the community should have to face going hungry. That’s why we provide three days’ worth of nutritionally balanced, emergency food and support to local people who are referred to us in food poverty crisis. Support those who Care
This is an exciting opportunity to join our new service supporting Carers across City of London to improve their health and wellbeing, and access support that meets their needs. We are working with Carers from a range of cultures, and it would be an advantage to speak Bengali.
The team work holistically with Carers to understand their individual circumstances and level of need. You’ll carry out home visits and community-based meetings, co-produce support plans, and develop effective relationships with Carers, families, and professionals. You will also support Carers to complete written forms and applications, draft letters, and advocate with third parties.
You’ll build on your local knowledge to signpost and facilitate access for Carers to support services, including financial and benefit advice, housing, health and safety home systems, and leisure and social activities. You will also support the development of escalation plans so that Carers are prepared for unforeseen circumstances that would impact negatively on ability to care.
Together with colleagues, you will plan and deliver the service’s activity package, including coffee mornings, drop-in sessions, activities, online and face to face groups, and peer support forums. There will also be opportunities to promote the service by attending meetings and forums, and to deliver training sessions to professionals and community organisations so that they have the skills to identify Carers.
Applicants should have relevant personal or professional experience of working with Carers and/or vulnerable adults or children in a social care, health, education or voluntary and community sector.

This is an exciting time to join The Children's Society as we partner with the Violence Exploitation Reduction Unit on a new 'Community Navigators' project. This is a pilot project for 1 year, which will be independent evaluated.
The community navigators will provide 1:1 support to young people and young adults (up to 25), affected by exploitation across Bedfordshire [Luton, Bedford and Central Bedfordshire]. The successful candidate will have an excellent track record of engaging with young people, ensuring they meet young people 'where they are at' and help them to navigate a complex system guiding them through day-to-day challenges that they may be experiencing.
They will work closely with a range of multi-agency teams in Bedfordshire to ensure young people's wishes and feelings are heard with the ultimate aim of reducing harm and disrupting exploitation.
In order to be successful in this role, you must have:
-Extensive and relevant experience of working with young people affected by exploitation from diverse backgrounds
-The ability to work flexibly, act creatively, think systemically and respond to new and challenging situations.
-Experience of building and maintaining relationships both with young people, communities and partners
-The ability to work in a culturally sensitive and holistic way, recognising and responding to children's individual needs in 1:1 setting

As Local Volunteering Attraction Coordinator, you'll play a key role in promoting volunteering and driving new volunteer applications to support and grow our services. Working flexibly and independently, you'll engage with local communities, build relationships with organisations, and use a range of marketing and outreach activities to encourage people to get involved. You'll need to be adaptable, self-motivated, and comfortable working both independently and as part of a wider team, using technology to stay connected.
You'll develop and implement strategic recruitment plans, using a mix of social media, local media, community events, and partnerships to identify potential volunteers. Representing Guide Dogs at events and fairs, you'll raise awareness of our work and inspire people to take the next step in their volunteering journey. Planning and hosting events will be a key part of the role, ensuring that engagement is maximised, and recruitment targets are met.
Collaboration will be essential as you’ll be working closely with Communications colleagues to ensure best value from advertising partnerships and presence on Guide Dogs’ digital channels. You'll also work with internal teams to align recruitment efforts with local and national volunteer targets, supporting regional campaigns and monitoring performance to continuously improve recruitment effectiveness.
To be successful in this role, you'll need experience in volunteer recruitment, community outreach, marketing, or related fields, with a strong ability to engage and inspire others. You'll be confident in delivering marketing campaigns, creating engaging advertising materials, and using data to track and improve recruitment strategies. A degree or formal qualifications in marketing or volunteering would be beneficial, but not essential.
This is a part-time home-based role, working 32 hours per week, with regular travel across Wales. You’ll need to demonstrate a proactive, flexible approach and willingness to work occasional evenings and weekends to attend key events. The closest office is Cardiff. In this role, you can make a tangible impact in growing an engaged and passionate volunteer community.

Wellbeing Activities and Volunteer Coordinator
This charity has an exciting opportunity as Wellbeing Activities and Volunteer Coordinator to make a real difference to asylum seekers and refugees in the Reading area.
Position: Wellbeing Activities and Volunteer Coordinator
Location: Reading
Hours: Full-time, Office based with an immediate start
Contract: 1-year contract – renewed subject to funding
Salary: £25,584 pro rata + 6% pension
Closing date: Tuesday 15th April 2025, the client will be interviewing on a rolling basis and may close the role early.

About the role:
As the Wellbeing Activities and Volunteer Coordinator, you will manage the recruitment and support of volunteers and run projects and events aimed at supporting asylum and refugees in engaging in social and wellbeing activities, building networks, and getting to know the local area. Through a programme of holistic activities including, wellbeing activities, language support, employment support and cultural / community activities.
The Wellbeing Activities Coordinator and Volunteer Coordinator will introduce and support clients to different activities that will improve the mental health and wellbeing of asylum seekers and refugees through reducing isolation.
Key areas of responsibility include:
Wellbeing Activities
• To run the weekly drop in centre.
• To plan and run different client activities & events promoting wellbeing and integration.
• Organising group activities to bring people together, provide opportunities to make social connections and reduce isolation. By running creative activities such as music, arts and crafts, social events, trips and other programmes as agreed with the line manager.
• Run at least three information sessions about mental health and access to treatment for refugees and asylum seekers in Reading.
• Liaise and communicate with other projects and organisations in Reading as appropriate, signpost and refer clients to group activities, and advertise programmes to promote maximum participation.
• To promote activities and events amongst the client group through appropriate means (emailing, texting posters, fliers, word of mouth)
Volunteer Coordinator
• To recruit and select suitable volunteers in line with the policies and procedures.
• To liaise with other staff members on recruitment needs for volunteers.
• To support staff members who themselves manage volunteers regarding any volunteering issues.
• Be the contact point for volunteers
• To deliver basic induction training for volunteers and appropriate ongoing and ad hoc training in coordination with staff members.
• Ensure appropriate and regular supervision meetings are held
• Maintaining and developing projects managed by volunteers and supporting volunteers in this process.
About you:
The role would suit someone who is confident in communication, has some cultural awareness and can uphold the values of the charity. All candidates should have strong ethical standards, and team spirit and be passionate about working with asylum seekers and refugees. You will have practical IT skills, be able to work to strict deadlines and have good organisational and methodical skills.
Key skills required for this role:
• Ability to work from the office – Reading
• Knowledge and understanding of the voluntary/community sector
• IT experience in using Word, Excel, email, database management
• The charity encourages applications from people with lived experience of being a refugee but this not essential
