Main Purpose of the Role:

This is an exciting opportunity to join our dynamic team at Camden Carers and make a difference to the lives of carers and families in Camden. We are looking for a hardworking, innovative, enthusiastic and flexible team member who is able to adapt to the ever changing and challenging times we find ourselves currently in.​

As a part of the Support & Wellbeing Team, you will be required to identify Young Adult Carers aged 18-30 years from all communities in the London Borough of Camden, who care for a family member, partner or friend with a disability or long-term illness. You will provide relevant and appropriate support, information and advocacy to Young Adult Carers. You will lead on developing and maintaining effective partnerships with other statutory and voluntary services as well as developing a service to support Young Adult Carers who are also NEET (not in education, employment or training).

Carers Trust estimate that there are at least 600,000 Young Adult Carers in the UK.​

A consultation carried out in 2023 showed that over 75% of Young Adult Carers in Camden have poor emotional/mental health and poor physical health. The study also highlighted that high numbers of Young Adult Carers require support with finances, employment, education and managing personal relationships.​

South East London Mind is working in partnership with South London and Maudsley NHS Trust to deliver the Southwark Primary Care Mental Health Team.

Working alongside and complementing the mental health care provided by the Multi-Disciplinary Teams, our Lived Experience Support Workers offer a strength-based holistic approach to recovery, using empathy and understanding to help service users access the right interventions and support, based on their individual need.

They also support clients to develop and maintain independence in their local community, promoting resilience, building life skills, and a strengthened ability to cope with challenges and play a more active role in the management and sustainability of their wellbeing.

We are seeking another Lived Experience Support Worker to join our team. You will have lived experience of mental health challenges, as well as experience supporting vulnerable people within a clinical environment and/or managing a vulnerable client cohort caseload.

The role will involve:

• Working alongside a Multi-Disciplinary Team, managing and providing recovery-orientated support to a diverse caseload of clients with mental health diagnoses
• Offering clients tailored, holistic support with empathy and understanding to empower them to develop resilience, a strengthened ability to cope with ongoing challenges, and a more active role in the management of their wellbeing
• Engaging clients in peer support sessions and offering appropriate and holistic advice, information, and signposting and helping them to navigate the support that may be available to them in their local communities.

The Role

You’ll support the Programme Manager in coordinating the logistics and delivery of our mentoring services, which include our flagship Mentoring for Mothers programme and its adaptation, Mentoring for Mothers Welcome, tailored to support asylum-seeking women and their children.

From the initial application stage to conducting assessments and making the all-important mentor-mentee matches, you’ll ensure that everyone feels supported and valued throughout their journey with us. About You

You should be confident working independently but also thrive as part of a small, close-knit team.

An understanding of the challenges faced by asylum seekers and refugees is crucial, as is a solid grasp of safeguarding principles and experience implementing them. • You will develop, monitor and manage a trusts fundraising portfolio capable of generating in excess per annum. You’ll establish a trusts fundraising pipeline, including a range of KPI’s that can be tracked and that will enable you to make informed projections regarding future income.
• You’ll forge strong relationships with colleagues across the wider Trussell Trust network, sharing best practice and learning from other charities across the network. You’ll proactively take advantage of any fundraising training and skills development opportunities and engage with any joint fundraising opportunities.
• Oversee and assist as needed the Foodbank Project Manager and Volunteer Manager to:

1.  Maintain relationships with key local stakeholders and identify fundraising opportunities and helping with other community relationships as needed.
2. Further develop and maintain relationships with referral agencies.

• Generate content to promote the work of the food bank, encourage donations through social media, regular foodbank newsletters and contact with corporate Volunteers.  

Skills

• You’ll have strong, established experience of trusts and foundations fundraising. Experience of corporate partnerships fundraising would also be beneficial.
•  With excellent written and verbal communication and relationship management skills. You’ll be able to inspire and motivate new and existing funders.
• You’ll have experience of setting, managing and reporting against fundraising KPI’s.

In this new, impactful role, you will be responsible for mobilising and subsequently continuously improving a new network engagement and support function. The aim of the function is to significantly enhance the understanding the of needs, views and priorities of local Age UKs and the way in which the national organisation connects with, engages, and supports them. 

Working collaboratively with local Age UKs and national teams, the Director of Network Engagement & Support will be responsible for developing and implementing a network engagement and support strategy. This includes driving forward changes that may include the type of support provided, the way in which it is delivered and how it is monitored and measured to ensure our approach is responsive, sustainable and supports the strategic objectives and operational needs of the network.

This will require collaborative working across a range of teams to ensure a coherent and coordinated approach. This role and team will engage directly with local Age UK leadership, be the owner of the organisational overview of the network and network interactions, ensuring risks and issues are appropriately managed and that there is an effective and transparent flow of information across the organisation and network including into formal governance mechanisms.  

The Director of Network Engagement & Support will ensure the effective delivery and operation of several formal and informal network engagement activities, for example Chief Officer induction. As the Senior Communications Officer (content) in the Public Engagement Team, you will be passionate about the rights of young people in the UK. About CoppaFeel!

CoppaFeel! are the UK’s only youth focused breast cancer awareness charity, and we’re on a mission to get every 18-24 year old checking their chest. We educate people on the signs of breast cancer and encourage them to check their chests monthly, so that if they notice something unusual they are empowered to contact their GP and advocate for themselves.

We do this because when diagnosed early, breast cancer treatments are more effective and survival rates are higher. Early detection can save lives.

Breast cancer does not need to be detected late, and as long as we are here and continue to be supported by people like you, we will do all we can to make sure this doesn’t continue to happen.

About the role

This is a new role at CoppaFeel! as we grow and develop our finance team. As the Senior Finance Manager, you will have responsibility for overseeing CoppaFeel!’s finances . The Senior Finance Manager will be a key role in providing support and analysis to help decision-making for Leadership team.

This role will suit someone who is looking to join a small, dynamic and growing organisation to integrate finance within the organisation through building relationships with the wider team. You will be able to understand the story behind the numbers and work with the wider team to ensure financial cost effectiveness..

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategic

• Support on the annual Budgeting and quarterly Forecasting process
• Support with long term financial plans

Reports

• Preparation of budget holder monthly reports and other internal financial reports
• Supporting with cashflow monitoring

Stakeholder

• Support Auditors with audit information
• Line manage finance assistant/intern
• Create and maintain positive relationships with members of the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) and team managers in order to aid in their understanding of budgets and financial statements, and to support them with their day-to-day budget management and finance needs.

Finance processing

• Manage day to day running of the finance function (Banking, team queries)
• Trial balance reconciliation and month end journals
• Manage and maintain appropriate financial policies and financial controls mitigating financial risk and implementing best practice.

Skills and experience

Essential

• Part qualified Accountant or qualified by experience
• Evidence of building successful working relationships externally and internally and at all levels of an organisation
• Able collaborate and use good interpersonal skills to navigate complex and or difficult conversations
• Ability to analyse complex information, problem solve and communicate findings effectively.
• Have good working knowledge of reporting requirements and UK charity regulations experience including SORP
• Have experience driving change and improving processes.
• Experience of line management
• Intermediate to advanced excel skills (pivot tables, sumifs, vlookups etc)

A hybrid of office and flexible, working Daily Flexi Time: starting anytime between 8am and 10am. Working from home up to 3 days per week (pro rata).

Head of Children and Young People’s Service

Sensory Services by Sight for Surrey has been established for over 100 years.  We enable and empower people who are Deaf, hard of hearing, blind, partially sighted, and deafblind to overcome barriers and to be as independent as possible. 

 An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our Senior Management Team, and lead our Children and Young People’s Service.  The service helps children, young people and families to thrive, by providing a variety of vibrant and impactful services including the Habilitation Service on behalf of the Local Authority.   

Principal accountabilities:

1. Provide overarching leadership, and management, to the Children and Young People’s Service (CYPS).  

2. Lead, in collaboration with the CYPS Operational Manager, the Surrey County Council contract for Habilitation services ensuring that the Key Performance Indicators are met and reported on, in line with the contractual obligations, and that the contract is secured for the future.

3. Lead, in collaboration with the CYPS Operational Manager, the CYPS Service Facilitator and others, the delivery of outputs and outcomes of a number of grant funded services.

4. Ensure policies and procedures are followed at all times, and to ensure appropriate risk assessments are conducted and maintained.

5. To be the designated Safeguarding Lead for Children and Young People for the charity, working closely with Surrey Safeguarding Children Partnership and other organisations such as Surrey Youth Focus, and internally with the Designated Safeguarding Lead for Adults.

6. To plan and manage the departmental budget for the Children and Young People’s Service, making best use of resources at all times to achieve maximum impact for the people we support across the organisation.

7. Regular reporting to Surrey County Council, Services Committee, Trustee Board, and funders as required.

8. Line management of the CYPS Operational Manager, the Children and Young People’s Service Facilitator, and a number of other direct reports.

9. Support and supervise the team of staff and volunteers to ensure that they perform and work to the agreed standards and in line with our organisational values.

10. Conduct annual appraisals and identify training needs within the team to meet all national standards. 

11. Work with the CYPS Operational Manager to succession plan, and manage the training and development of Trainee Habilitation Specialists to ensure the charity is well resourced.

12. Provide information, support and advice for children with vision impairment/ Multi-Sensory Impairment and their families /carers.

13. To develop the service to include children and young people who are Hard of Hearing or Deaf, and their families, working in partnership with other organisations to ensure we add value. 

14. To share responsibility for the Charity’s operational decision making with other senior managers.

15. To oversee the management and maintenance of the contract for Children’s statutory register of vision impairment.

16. To work in partnership with internal teams, such as fundraising and communications, to ensure the Children and Young People’s Service is well resourced, and always in line with the charity brand.

17. To develop and manage external partnerships as required

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS

 Desirable

• Graduate Diploma in Habilitation and Disabilities of Sight (Children and Young People) or equivalent qualification which specifically meets all the learning outcomes arising from the ‘Quality Standards – Delivery of Habilitation Training (Mobility and Independent Living Skills) for Children and Young People with Visual Impairment (2011)’: Qualification Participant Learning Outcomes.
• Registration with relevant professional body.
• First Aid Certificate (if the successful applicant does not already hold this, they will be required to complete it before starting in post)
• Level 3 Safeguarding qualification (if the applicant does not have an in-date certificate they will be required to complete this before starting in post)
• Communication skills for working with people who are Deaf, or those with Dual Sensory Loss e.g. clear speech, block alphabet, deafblind manual, BSL

• Extensive experience of working with children, young people and families

Senior Programmes Officer: Local First

Salary: £35,800

Contract: Full-time, permanent

Location: You can be based at Peace Direct’s office in London or in The Hague. We also offer hybrid working.

Peace Direct is an international charity that works with local peacebuilders and their allies to shift power and resources for sustainable peace. Local people are the experts in the conflicts that affect their communities, and only they understand what it takes to build peace that lasts. We make sure these local peacebuilders have the resources they need to make peace a reality, and that their work is resourced, acknowledged and supported by the international community.

The role

As Senior Programmes Officer you will closely with our peacebuilding partners to help deliver an ambitious new programme of work. 'Local First: Transforming the Peacebuilding System' will support local peacebuilders in Mali, Afghanistan, Sudan and eastern DRC to increase prospects for sustainable peace.

Through Local First, Peace Direct will work with policymakers and power holders, supporting them to understand the dysfunctions of the peacebuilding system, and find ways to better support locally-led peacebuilding.

This role is responsible for developing and managing partnerships within the four countries, with initial emphasis on Mali. You will work closely with our other SPOs who manage partnerships in the four countries, and create and manage opportunities to bring partners together to learn from one another. You will also support the development, coordination and delivery of Local First, working closely with the International Programmes Manager and Peace Direct’s Netherlands Office Representative.

We are looking for an experienced, passionate person who can:

• Coordinate and support partnerships with local peacebuilding actors based on mutual accountability and trust. This will require working proficiency in French as well as English.  
• Support the management, coordination and delivery of a complex, multi-country programme across four conflict-affected countries
• Coordinate the development of new work in support of transforming the peacebuilding system in four focus countries
• Contribute to organisational learning and the roll-out of our learning loop
