ELSC is an initiative of the Palestinian NGO Network, comprising 200 Palestinian civil society organisations, developed in response to the widespread repression in Europe of advocacy for Palestinian rights. Founded in January 2019, we provide free legal advice and assistance to individuals who face unjust smears, disciplinary investigations, criminal sanctions and other repressive measures aimed at shrinking the space for Palestinian rights advocacy in mainland Europe and Britain. ABOUT THE ROLE
The Associate Solicitor will lead our legal team in Britain and oversee our cases in England and Wales.
The role requires a qualified solicitor with experience of running litigious cases. Our main practice areas in Britain are: (i) public law and human rights; (ii) employment and discrimination and (iii) defamation law. The post-holder will have particular expertise in one of these areas. Our cases also involve data rights, freedom of information, criminal law, actions against the police, charity law, education law, international humanitarian law, and immigration issues.
The post holder will manage a growing team that consists of a Legal Officer and a Junior Legal Officer. In addition, our British work team has an advocacy and communication officer and two researchers who monitor anti-Palestinian racism.

JOB DESCRIPTION
Duties and Responsibilities

Oversee all litigious and advisory casework in Britain alongside our junior legal staff and legal network. Provide expert legal advice and representation, to individual clients and movement partners.

Manage our legal officers, providing training and feedback to them as appropriate. Collaborate closely with our legal network of solicitors and counsel with the goal of strengthening the wider movement.

Develop and advance new legal strategies for challenging state and non-state repression of advocacy for Palestine in consultation with our legal network, national partners and experts.

Support the development of effective advocacy campaigns to increase the impact of litigation outside the courtroom.

Support ELSC’s outreach and public engagement initiatives.
PERSON SPECIFICATION
Required experience, knowledge and skills
-
3 years + post-qualified experience (PQE) and admitted to practise as a solicitor in England and Wales.

Experience leading on a variety of contentious and non-contentious matters, particularly in public, employment and/or defamation law.

Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to provide clear and concise legal advice on complex issues in a comprehensible and appropriate format.

An ability to engage with the law critically and develop strategies that serve broader political objectives. Track record of collaborating well with other lawyers, academics and civil society organisations.

Excellent client care skills, particularly in relation to vulnerable or marginalised clients.

Experience in a role which requires coordination of multiple projects and/or workstreams concurrently, and the ability to manage relationships with partner organisations, coalitions and counsel.

High level of English-language proficiency.

Commitment to the Palestinian liberation and solidarity movement.

About the role
We have a new and exciting opportunity to work with us in our Collaborative Design team as our Project Engagement Coordinator. You will have an opportunity to deliver a portfolio of projects which exemplify best practice in engagement and design.
As the Project Engagement Coordinator, you will be the project lead on engagement elements, conducting research to identify areas of development and sourcing opportunities to partner with local organisations.
You will be engaging with communities, stakeholder groups and the local authority to inform project development and the delivery of a range of activities, through the collaborative design process by ensuring all voices are heard, and communities feel part of the process.

About this key role
As our specialist worker you will provide peer supervisory support to the team within the wider hospital based services, which includes deputising for the Senior Caseworker, and supporting the Data Coordinator and Senior Caseworker with the collation of information and data for project monitoring purposes. About this key role
Our successful candidate will assess referred clients, with reference to St Giles Trust assessment practices, offering support to up to 20 young people per year, who are identified by local partners as most at need of support. It is essential that you hold a recognised City & Guilds qualification in carpentry and joinery or cabinet making or equivalent. In this role, you will be responsible for delivering an exciting new local health improvement influencing programme. You will help ensure that improvements in pancreatic cancer treatment and care are implemented by local health systems, so that people with pancreatic cancer can live long and well.
In this role, you will:
- Build and manage relationships with local health systems and healthcare professionals working in pancreatic cancer across England.
- Represent Pancreatic Cancer UK at external meetings and events with local health systems to communicate how they can improve local pancreatic cancer care.
- Support the scoping and development of resources for local health systems, such as guides and briefings, to promote service improvements in pancreatic cancer care.

About this key role
Our successful candidate will monitor and manage the receipt of referrals from Probation through the Customer Approved System (CAS) ensuring they are successfully assigned to Personal Wellbeing Coaches using the appropriate guidance and process, ensure all inputting is accurate and within agreed timescales, plus provide regular activity reports to the Personal Wellbeing Manager. You will be the primary point of contact for all enquiries, external and internal to ensure communication channels are clear and effective, while also liaising with external stakeholders (e.g. Prisons), delivery partners, spot purchase providers and other agencies to arrange appointments, referrals, and generally ensure information exchanged is done in a clear, timely and effective manner.
Developing and maintaining an Estates log and diary to ensure the team always have an approved site to meet service users in mandated locations when needed and providing administration for meetings, including bookings, invitations and minute-taking, are also vital duties.

The International Co-ordinator supports the effective delivery of Wales Arts International’s activities, its projects and services. This includes the development of international information services, co-ordination of communication, correspondence and appointments. It also involves the planning, organisation and administration of internal and external meetings, events and conferences and participation in delivering frontline contact work with sectors in Wales and in international contexts.

In 2017 Child Bereavement UK was commissioned by NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde with funding from Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity to provide bereavement support for families bereaved of a baby or child, and training and support for hospital staff.
Child Bereavement UK is looking to recruit Bereavement Support Practitioners to join the Glasgow Hospital Service Team. The team supports the Bereavement Support Team Lead in the provision and evaluation of a service that ensures families and professionals can access high quality bereavement support in situations where a baby or child has died or is dying, with specific responsibility for providing bereavement support in individual, couple and group settings, and assessing the needs of siblings. To contribute to the training and support of professionals whose roles bring them into contact with bereaved families.
Applicants should have a recognised, health, social care, or counselling qualification, experience in working with parents, children and families, excellent communication skills and be passionate about supporting bereaved families and those whose roles bring them into contact with these families.
The successful applicants will be required to complete a PVG check.

We require a Social Worker to provide high quality social work in our schools across the Diocese of Salford according to each school’s formal agreement.
You will work directly with children and young people, their parents, carers and schools in order to further the child’s welfare and provide the interventions necessary to enable them to use their learning opportunities to the full. You must be able to provide a non-judgemental, caring and confidential environment throughout this work to ensure the issues are addressed in an appropriate manner for all those involved.
To apply you will have experience of working with children and families and experience of direct work with children which includes supporting school staff with safeguarding. You must have competent IT skills which includes providing regular reports to the individual schools and Caritas and feedback to school staff as required. Job Description
Post Title: Young Women’s Worker
Location: The post will be based primarily at Kings College Hospital. However, all
Redthread team members must have a flexible approach to supporting other
