Job description

The role

Are you looking for a role where you can make an impact so that people with pancreatic cancer can live long and well?

We’re seeking a Stakeholder Engagement Officer to join our fantastic Campaigns, Policy and Health Improvement team. This is a brand new, 18-month fixed term role with the charity, starting in August 2024.

Last year, we launched our blueprint for what better and fairer standards of care should look like for people with pancreatic cancer. Now, we need to ensure that these standards of care become a reality, so that people with pancreatic cancer can have the best chance of living long and well.

In this role, you will be responsible for delivering an exciting new local health improvement influencing programme. You will help ensure that improvements in pancreatic cancer treatment and care are implemented by local health systems, so that people with pancreatic cancer can live long and well.

In this role, you will:

  • Build and manage relationships with local health systems and healthcare professionals working in pancreatic cancer across England.
  • Represent Pancreatic Cancer UK at external meetings and events with local health systems to communicate how they can improve local pancreatic cancer care.
  • Support the scoping and development of resources for local health systems, such as guides and briefings, to promote service improvements in pancreatic cancer care.

About you

  • You will have experience of working in a healthcare setting.
  • You are a confident communicator who will have experience of delivering talks and presentations to a wide range of audiences.
  • You will have the ability to understand complex information and communicate it in a way that is straightforward, both in writing or verbally, and tailored to different audiences.

If this sounds like you – we’d love to hear from you!

About working for us

This is a fast-paced and growing organisation that is really committed to making a difference. Being a part of our team is being part of a positive, dynamic, successful, and welcoming community that is making an impact. We will support your development, and you’ll have the opportunity to be involved in activities outside the scope of your immediate role. We care about your health and wellbeing and your work-life balance, and you will feel that your contribution is valued and matters.

About us

Pancreatic cancer is a tough one but we're taking it on. It is tough to diagnose, tough to treat, and tough to research. For too long this disease has been side-lined. We want to make sure that everyone affected by it gets all the help they need. Together we are taking on pancreatic cancer. Underpinning this vision are our four values:

  • Pioneering
  • Compassion
  • Determined

We cannot achieve our vision without employing people who are committed to our vision, strategy, and values.

At PCUK our ambition is to create an inclusive working environment that reflects the communities and audiences that we engage with and where everyone can be their true selves, where they feel respected, championed, heard, and supported.  We want our workforce to achieve their potential, understand their contribution and feel proud of their impact by creating a culture and organisation that is genuinely inclusive by advancing equality, diversity, inclusion, and belonging through our policies and practices.

We believe diversity drives great outcomes by encouraging the different points of view that come from a diverse workforce. We want to hear from and engage with people whose experience of dealing with this disease may be very different depending on their individual circumstances and background can think of no better way to do this than by ensuring that this role fully represents our intent therefore we are especially keen to consider applications from suitable applicants who consider themselves to be in areas that appear underrepresented within the charity sector.
