We are looking for an enthusiastic and proactive press officer to help raise the profile of World Horse Welfare and promote our charity to external audiences. This role would suit a person with experience as a reporter on a news desk or in media relations who is looking for a PR role within the charity sector.
You will support the Head of Communications in managing the charity’s news flow and media relations, achieving accurate and favourable mentions across specialist, regional, national and international media.
You will be required to proactively seek opportunities to raise the Charity’s profile and publicise the work and messages of World Horse Welfare.

Wigan & Leigh Hospice is looking for a Marketing and Communications Manager to join our Business Development team.
The hospice is a charity which is firmly embedded in its community and relies on the support of that community to keeps its services running. Often people are surprised that hospices rely so heavily on donations to deliver such essential services, but every day we need to raise £12,000 just to keep the hospice running.
As Marketing & Communications Manager you will play a key role in raising the profile of the hospice, helping our community to better understand the services we offer. You will manage all of the hospice’s internal and external communications channels, finding creative ways to engage patients and their families, supporters, staff and volunteers.
You will work closely with a wide range of colleagues from across the hospice to provide advice and support with marketing and communications activities. This is an opportunity to make a real and meaningful difference to a charity that is very much rooted in this community.

The role:
Marketing strategy and planning
- Developing and leading marketing strategies that help the FSRH meet its strategic objectives.
- Input into the annual operational planning process to ensure that marketing activity is planned and budgeted.
- Cascading the marketing strategy into the production of cross-organisational marketing plans and budget which align to FSRH’s strategic objectives, plan, and budget.
- Being the visible face of FSRH’s marketing activity through regular attendance at meetings with key stakeholders, including relevant committees/Board of Council/Trustee meetings.
- Shape the positioning and presentation of FSRH across all its activities, in ways that are consistent and coherent, to increase the understanding and engagement with our work and brand by all stakeholders.
Marketing intelligence
- Working closely with FSRH teams (including our committees of volunteers) to understand the market and customer need for FSRH products and services.
- Analyse data to optimise to the achievement of key metrics and inform future targets for marketing activities.
Marketing management
- Lead the marketing team to provide an excellent service to the main external facing departments, including Education and Training and External Affairs.
- Develop and oversee the marketing management process, which involves regularly meeting key staff to discuss future plans, to review activity against KPIs, and ensure activities stay within budget and timelines.
- Being responsive to changes in the market or opportunities that arise to maximise the potential.

Marketing and communications activities

- Lead the implementation of a range of marketing and communications activities across different channels including web content, emails, print assets, and social media (organic and paid).
- Monitor and manage the production of branded items.
Insight and reporting
- Using data to understand our audience (e.g. Google analytics, iMIS CRM, RiSE CMS, FSRH Training Hub) to develop marketing activity and to measure against agreed metrics.
- Working with the Digital Manager and Data Manager to plan and implement updates and enhancements to the iMIS CRM processes and CMS webpages.
- Working with the Education and Training team to use the reporting from the Training Hub to help make decisions about future marketing for candidates/members.
- Ensure our activities are General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and other relevant data protection regulation complaint.
Staff management
- Line manage the Marketing and Communications Manager.
- Recruit and manage any temporary/contract staff.
Representing the FSRH
- Attending FSRH events to help staff stands, talking to members and prospective members.
- Speaking at events about the FSRH to audiences of members and prospective members.
- Support the Membership Engagement Team during busy periods as required.
- To feed into and support the improvement of processes and systems to support the continuous modernisation of day-to-day operations.
- To assist the CEO on specific campaigns providing and analysing data to grasp issues, draw conclusions and solve problems.
You will have:
- A relevant Degree or equivalent by experience
- Marketing/Communications qualification (e.g. CIM, CAM) (Desirable)
- Experience as a strategic thinker combined with an ability to demonstrate a practical hands-on approach
- An excellent approach to written and verbal communication skills

About the Organisation

Scope of role
As Communications, Marketing, and PR Manager, you will play a key role in raising Toynbee Hall’s profile, ensuring that our charitable work and commercial venue hire operations receive the recognition they deserve. Role Summary
The Communications and Fundraising Manager is a critical role within the organisation, working collaboratively with colleagues across Together Women to increase awareness of our work, grow our external communications presence, increase digital engagement and increase public fundraising.
This is an exciting and dynamic role which will balance operational delivery of communications and fundraising activity, with a strategic approach to growing the impact of our communications and funds raised via public donations.
We’re looking for a talented and creative communicator, with previous success in the growth of communications engagement and/or fundraising, and experience implementing strategies and working to targets.
You will have experience creating compelling written, visual and verbal content for a range of audiences, and be confident managing digital channels and platforms.
You will be a positive and effective collaborator, who can build relationships internal and externally, with the skill to spot opportunities and make the most of them.
You will also have experience implementing and adhering to key compliance frameworks, such as UK GDPR, PECR and/or Fundraising Code of Practice, and experience of working with databases or CRM systems.
Key Accountabilities
External communications strategy and planning
- Develop and implement Together Women’s communications strategy to increase awareness of our work and advocate for systemic change for women within the criminal justice system.
- In line with our strategy, ensure the voices, stories and experiences of women we support are at the core of our communications strategy.
- Identify ways we can co-create communications with the women we support
- Set ambitious, achievable targets to drive growth in communications engagement and reach.
- Create and deliver our content and communications annual plan.

Digital communications
- Manage our website and social media channels, ensuring content is updated regularly.
- Lead the redesign of our website, with support from an external agency.
- Increase digital resources available for service users and professionals.
- Generate engaging content across our social channels, and develop channel-specific plans to increase our reach and impact.
- Utilise analytics to report on digital campaigns, track monthly performance across channels, and apply learnings to future activity.
- Supervise content across all channels and escalate concerns to senior management.
- Manage external email campaigns
Content creation
- Maintain our collection of brand assets and resources to promote Together Women's work.
- Create engaging content and resources for use across digital channels.
- Regularly attend events and activities in our centres to showcase our work.
- Support staff to self-serve resources and maintain consistent tone of voice and brand across our communications.
- Work with Services teams, Data and Impact team and Service Users to platform the voices and experiences of the women we work with, and the work our teams deliver.
Public Fundraising
- Develop and implement a new public fundraising strategy, in collaboration with Centre Managers, Directors and our CEO, with an initial target of £200,000 in the first 2 years, and ambition to significantly increase over the long term.
- Build a pipeline of opportunities, develop pitches and secure new supporters and funds, with a particular focus on Corporate, Grant Funders, Philanthropy and Community supporters.
- Increase Gift in Kind donations to support Centre and Central operations

The role:

Role Overview:
Reporting to the Deputy Head of Marketing, the PR and Comms Manager will be the storyteller for all things Enable!
They will execute a yearly PR plan for Enable’s charitable missions, as well as provide PR support for Enable’s varied service areas, including Events, Leisure, Putney School of Art and Design, Bereavement and many more.
