About the role
Part of the senior management team, as Fundraising Manager, you will be responsible for generating vital income from a variety of sources, including community fundraising, individual giving, corporate partnerships, legacy donors, and trusts and foundations.

As Fundraising Manager, you will have the following skills and experience:

Related field or equivalent experience in, Business, Marketing, Non-Profit Management, a related field or equivalent experience.

This role will support the delivery of Alzheimer’s Society’s online Dementia Support Forum service and wider Online Communities initiatives. The role involves working with Online Community Assistants and Coordinators to ensure effective day-to-day operation of the service which could include offering support directly to a service user, handling queries that come through via our mailbox, or working on projects to help develop the support that we offer.
This is a remote role with occasional travel to one of our Alzheimer’s Society offices. This role is full-time, 35 hours per week, and the successful candidate will need to be able to work every Saturday and Sunday as well as three days during the week. We can be flexible in terms of which three days during the week you work.
You will:
- Support the delivery of the Dementia Support Forum service (including on weekends), working closely with colleagues to review community activity, handle live issues, and provide clear handover communication to the rest of the team
- Support our volunteer moderators and hosts, who are geographically dispersed and work from home, acknowledging their contributions, offering support and handling their queries in an empathetic manner
- Support Online Community Coordinators in responding to requests and enquiries about the service, building effective working relationships with colleagues from other departments and directorates
- Maintain a watching brief on community discussions and take necessary action to respond to inappropriate content, and moderate in line with our terms and conditions
- Assist with the management of conflict among community members
- Support the effective collection of service data from multiple sources including community discussions, emails, the community software platform and Google Analytics
About you
We are looking for a highly motivated individual, with experience or training in community management, online content moderation, or digital communications. It would be desirable if you had an understanding of dementia and the needs of people affected by dementia.
You will:

About the Team
The Peer Support and Community team at Kinship is dedicated to enhancing the lives of kinship carers across England and Wales by delivering the first national peer support service. With a focus on building and sustaining networks of peer support groups, the team aims to empower kinship carers through access to resources, training, and development opportunities.
By fostering connections within local, regional, and national ecosystems, the team plays a vital role in ensuring that every kinship carer has access to a supportive community.

About the role
This role is community-based and focuses on engaging kinship carers, bringing them together to form Peer Support Groups, and supporting them to achieve independence at which point they will receive ongoing support from our national Hub.
You will do this by working with local authorities, schools, other charities and community groups. Arranging information events such as coffee mornings to engage kinship carers. You’ll create a welcoming, inclusive, and supportive community for kinship carers, building belonging, resilience, and empowerment.
Funded by the Department of Education, the National Peer Support Service is a game-changing service that creates a sustainable and life-changing legacy. It builds on Kinship’s 10 years of experience in developing peer support groups and two years of delivering a national service that has set up 145 new groups.
Who we are looking for
We are seeking an individual located in South East of England, who possesses the drive, passion, and skills to:
- Develop new Peer Support Groups across a diverse range of communities
- Demonstrate the energy and enthusiasm required to achieve key targets and objectives
- Work collaboratively within the Peer Support and Community Team, as well as throughout the broader organisation, to ensure the development of safe and effective support services for the kinship community.
- Maintain current Peer Support Group levels, taking the lead from the national Hub.
- Maintain accurate records that are used to populate reports, identify learning and share key insights across Kinship that allow the organisation to continuously improve our services and products.
You should have experience in developing and maintaining meaningful relationships with various community-based stakeholders such as local authorities, health services, schools, charities, and kinship carers. You will need to understand the key success factors involved in establishing and developing new in-person groups in areas of high need, as well as how to support existing groups in their journey towards sustainability.
As a practical thinker, you will work creatively to identify stakeholders and assets in areas of high need. You will build local connections and bring together kinship carers across the region, empowering them to build resilient and robust peer support communities.
You will be confident in building relationships that generate referrals from external stakeholders and in contacting kinship carers directly to secure engagement with local coffee mornings, community, and training events that will help kick-start a thriving peer support group.
As you establish new groups, you will provide support and training to help them lead their groups effectively, and develop their group culture, resilience, and skills to function independently while offering reassurance and support to empower them.
We are ideally looking for candidates based close or within easy reach of our priority development areas in the South East of England which include; Reading, Oxfordshire, West Berkshire, Slough and Hampshire but also able to travel to locations along the M4 corridor.
An essential requirement of the role is to be a driver with access to a vehicle for work purposes.
Key responsibilities:
Service delivery:
- In-person (face-to-face) strategic outreach into local communities including setting up and attending local engagement events.
- Set up and develop sustainable in person peer support groups, initially attending and leading sessions in person before transition to self-sufficiency.
- Working with existing groups that are at risk, closed or need support that need replacing or rejuvenating to maintain DfE service level agreement, in addition to new groups. Targets are subject to change and are not fixed.
- Recruit and retain support group leaders to develop their peer support groups.
- Assist with the delivery of training to support group leaders and groups to become self-sufficient.
- Develop strong boundaries and positive relationships with support group leaders – building resilience, empowerment and community.
- Support established groups (including independent) in your area to access support group leader networks and training (this includes visiting groups in person) to build a peer community.
- Follow (and where appropriate support further development off) the service blueprint to develop sustainable peer support groups.
- Collaborate with the Peer Support Hub team to provide a joined-up and positive user experience for kinship carers.

· Proven experience of ensuring outcomes and impacts of services are evidenced through high-quality data collection.

About the Role:
As our Senior Marketing Officer (Supporter Activation) you will project lead our highly successful water bill insert campaign (managed in close collaboration with the Water Industry Partnership Team). Overseeing the delivery of these campaigns from briefing through to post-campaign analysis, as well as the development of new ideas to maximise the opportunities offered by this relationship.
You’ll support the Marketing Manager and wider team in the day-to-day development, management and delivery of a number of fundraising campaigns. In particular our successful DRTV programme, managing the relationship with our telemarketing agency and support in planning and delivery of new creative.
You’ll also:
- Managing our response handling agency to ensure effective conversion of response for our DRTV campaigns through regular monitoring and testing; providing training and development and analysing results regularly.
- Manage agency relationships; overseeing the management and development of any campaigns from briefing through to post-campaign analysis, collaborating with external partners, taking responsibility for resolving queries, trafficking all stages of the project and escalation of potential problems.
- Help develop and manage expenditure and income budgets. Help create the budget, to monitor monthly management accounts and key performance indicators and to undertake reforecasts as required.
- Regularly monitor, evaluate and analyse campaigns, providing regular results and recommendations for strategy development based on reviews and analysis.
- Liaise with team leaders and project managers in other departments to identify and implement new cross-working opportunities utilising specialist knowledge and experience in direct marketing.
- Remain up-to-date about developments in the external market-place and assess the suitability of new, innovative approaches for recruiting supporters to remain competitive.

Volunteer management
Community involvement is an essential part of what we do at The Exchange. Currently this involves a growing Volunteer Programme, where people come and learn skills from talented craftspeople, becoming part of “Making Communities”, in exchange for giving time in creating things For Community Use and/or Benefit.
In relation to the garden, volunteers are supported through skills development and learning opportunities and give their time towards the garden’s ongoing maintenance and/or enabling wider public interaction. Participation in this programme also creates other benefits including social and wellbeing. We believe that time spent with volunteers/local community sharing skills and experience is an important investment and it will be your responsibility to ensure the volunteer team is supported and valued.Key responsibilities include:
- Developing and maintaining a group of volunteers to assist in the garden.
- Providing supervision and guidance to the volunteer team on practical horticultural tasks.
- Ensuring health and safety procedures are followed.
- Support with developing volunteers’ skills and confidence within the garden.
- Managing garden volunteer rotas and work tasks.
- Maintaining volunteer records including logging and evaluating volunteer hours.
- Keeping in touch with volunteers and potential volunteers through regular communications.
- Organising volunteer recognition events/activities, e.g. visits to other gardens.
Other
- Supporting development and delivery of new ideas to reach target groups and meet our aims, as laid out in our Engagement/Participation Strategy.
- Working with the wider team to ensure effective communications about the garden as visitor site, and place for learning.
- Exploring the potential for garden community learning programme development in line with the organisation’s aims and objectives.
- Working with the senior leadership team on relevant funding applications.
Personal specification
Essential:
- Knowledge of, or willingness to learn about, Sarah Price’s approach to gardens, plants, and garden maintenance.
- Ecologically minded with a commitment to working organically.
- Practical experience and/or Entry Level Qualification in gardens and/or landscape management. NVQ level 2, RHS level 2 or equivalent experience.
- Excellent plant knowledge and a keen interest in gardens and landscapes.
- Familiarity with most horticultural tasks together with the use of basic tools.
- A willingness to work alongside and to support and develop other staff and volunteers.
- Motivated with an eye for detail and a desire to achieve high standards, ability to work on own initiative.
- Good verbal communication skills good organisational skills, a good understanding of Health and Safety issues.
- Experience of working with communities / different groups of people.
Desirable:
- A valid driving licence.
- Experience in propagation.
- Volunteer Management experience.

About you
You will be responsible for supporting the strategic development of our publications, including journals and an open research platform. They will be responsible for generating high-quality content in our titles and support the ongoing movement toward open science. The post holder will ensure we support the microbiology community in our publishing activities, working closely with colleagues, external stakeholders with microbiologists in academia, industry, and infection science environments.
The Publishing Editor will also support and manage editors and editorial boards, monitoring performance and running recruitment as and where required.
The successful candidate will have experience in academic publishing, the ability to communicate with internal and external stakeholders at different levels and, have working knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications.
