This is a part-time position offering flexible hours (21 hours per week) to attract the best candidate. Reporting directly to the Board of Trustees, you will provide strategic and operational leadership to our dedicated team. Your key responsibilities will include:

• Deliver our Strategic plan: Collaborate with the Board and staff  to  implement  our compelling strategic vision for the project, ensuring alignment with our vision, mission and operational objectives.

• Proven Leadership: Minimum 2 years of experience in a senior leadership role, ideally within the charity sector, demonstrating successful organisational management, strategic planning, board  and team leadership.
• Financial Acumen: Extensive experience in financial planning, budgeting, bid writing  and securing funding for charitable organisations, with a proven track record in results and diversifying income streams.
• Collaborative Approach: Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to build strong relationships, inspire teams, and work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
• Passion for Impact: A deep understanding of the challenges facing vulnerable young people and families, coupled with a genuine desire to make a tangible difference in their lives.

This role drives significant growth in awareness and engagement on our digital platforms through storytelling and campaign management.

You will use your digital marketing knowledge to increase the reach of the two charities’ brands, building donor awareness through optimised digital advertising (paid social, Google ad grants etc).

As a primary stakeholder in our social media strategy, you will understand what makes a good story; bringing our fundraising, brand and services to life.

You will optimise campaigns by leveraging analytics and be able to communicate insights and recommendations to stakeholders across the charity using reporting platforms such as PowerBI. The Furniture Makers’ Company, the City of London livery company and charity for the furnishing industry, is seeking an experienced welfare officer to manage the charity’s occupational welfare support provision.

Formerly the Furniture Trades Benevolent Association, the charity has been supporting the welfare of furnishing industry people since 1903. The welfare officer provides vital help and support to people working in all areas of the trade, as well as retirees and their eligible dependants who need assistance.

We are seeking a compassionate individual who is highly organised, diligent and an articulate communicator. You will need to be an experienced administrator as you will be a department of one.

The Political Studies Association (PSA) exists to develop and promote the study and teaching of politics and related disciplines. Founded in 1950, we are the leading association in our field in the United Kingdom, with an international membership including academics in political science, theorists and practitioners, policymakers, researchers, and students in higher education as well as members from the school community.

Location: All roles are based at our offices in Camden London but the PSA staff work hybrid  and supports its staff to work remotely. Post-holders will be required, however, to come into our offices regularly and The whole team is endeavouring to collaborate in our offices regularly, especially on Wednesdays each week.

Job purpose: The postholder will support our aim to be the leading advocate for and supporter of Political Studies in the UK. Working with the CEO, the rest of the PSA Team and trustees you will lead the association’s membership services, communications, outreach programmes, and events including:  

· Teaching and Learning Network

· Postgraduate students and Early Career Network

· Schools & Student programmes

· Specialist Groups 

· Recognising professional contributions including our prizes and awards

The PSA is the home of Political Studies and in doing so the PSA’s staff and trustees work to bring our community together and advocate its importance to achieve our mission. This role plays a vital role in achieving this.

You will build and sustain a team of motivated and skilled staff and contractors and support them to continuously develop, innovate and enjoy their work. You will reflect the values of sustainability, diversity, advocacy and excellence in everything that you and your team do.

The post-holder will also contribute to the association’s income and membership targets, work within assigned budgets and creatively with partners as well as monitoring and reporting performance to trustees.

Operational priorities in the first year in being in post will include:

· Embedding a new website and CRM

· Implementing a new PSA 2025+ Strategic Plan including reviews of our membership offer and specialist groups

Team Structure & Context: The post will line manage a team of membership, communications and events personnel including the services of several external expert suppliers. You will also, on occasion, deputise for the CEO.  This role works closely with the Operations & Finance team on governance, budgeting, grants and awards, digital systems and delivery.

Main responsibilities:

Governance, Strategy and Leadership:

• Work with the PSA’s trustees and PSA team to shape and deliver the PSA’s strategy and annual business plans and support our aim to be the leading advocate and scholarly community for Political Studies in the UK
• Ensure key performance indicators relating to your work area are monitored, reported and used to continuously improve our operations.
• Work with trustees and lead by example to embed the values of sustainability, diversity, advocacy and excellence throughout the organisation
• Lead, support, and motivate staff so they are engaged and committed to delivering the organisation’s culture, values and objectives while meeting their individual potential and enjoying their work
• You will be able to approve expenditure in accordance with the PSA’s Scheme of Delegation and finance policies and procedures
• On occasion, co-ordinate the PSA’s response to government and other consultations and represent the association while engaging stakeholders.

Membership Services and Communications: 

Lead and support your Membership, Events, Communications & Programmes line-reports to develop and deliver the following:

• Devising the PSA’s membership, marketing and communications strategies with the wider PSA Team and trustees so that the association maintains and enhances its profile, size, and impact
• Manage team members and contractors to ensure the development and delivery of these strategies including the organisation’s membership services, codes of conduct, professional standards and package of member benefits
• Work with your team and trustees in shaping our membership offer which supports our members as they progress through their studies and careers. This includes the development and delivery of new membership categories including the PSA Fellowship
• Work with your team members to continuously improve the PSA’s member communications and content ensuring that all web and other digital and printed content and data is timely and good quality. You will ensure an ongoing programme of content and calls for action including promotion of Political Insight magazine and journals, the PSA Blog, e-newsletters, and social media as well as the efficient and effective deployment of the CRM so we can give our members, donors and stakeholders the best experience possible
•  Work with your team to ensure the membership recruitment, renewal and services run smoothly and achieve the continued growth in the association and that expectations are met
• Run the annual academic prizes programme as a part of our PSA member benefits package and in partnership with others including the American Political Science Association and the Academy of Social Sciences
• Support the CEO and Head of Operations and Finance with implementing the PSA’s grant and other support programmes as part of our member benefits package
• Support the PSA’s Chair and CEO on wider engagement with the higher education and learned society sectors including supporting heads of department gatherings and communications. 

Programme Management:

Deliver the PSA’s Schools programme: 

• Support PSA trustees in creating a programme in line with the PSA’s strategy
• Lead team members, suppliers, and partners to deliver this programme to as wide a range of teachers and pupils as possible
• Promote the teaching and study of Politics particularly post-16 and at undergraduate level
• Develop and deliver an offering for teachers and students (particularly post-16 resources and events) involving input from academics in line with PSA Strategy
• Support the PSA’s trustees on engagement and advocacy concerning post-16 curriculum and assessment.

Supporting Students, early career academics and those focussed on higher education teaching and learning: 

• Support your team members in managing member networks including the PSA’s Teaching and Learning Network (TLN) and Early Career Network (ECN), its volunteer convenors (committee members) and programme of communications, resources and events and imbed these as a clear part of our membership offering
• Support your team members in undertaking the election and training of incoming committee members and ensure the development of appropriate procedures and annual actions plans so that they adhere to the byelaws of the association and agreed budgets
• Support the PSA’s trustees with engagement and advocacy concerning Higher Education teaching and learning and the content of Politics courses
• Work with team members to organise and develop the annual PSA undergraduate Conference, and develop a wider programme of work with opportunities to undergraduate students to engage with the PSA
• With support from the team, ensure the effective operation of the PSA’s family of specialist groups in particular the management and growth of their own membership and communications as well as supporting their events and, in liaison with the Finance Manager, their own income and expenditure
• Work with team members, trustees and association members on the provision of developmental activities including mentoring and training programmes.

Delivering the PSA’s Annual Conference, annual lecture, and other events: 

• Devise in consultation with colleagues and trustees, a conference and events strategy for the organisation aimed to bring our community together, further our strategy and maximise revenues. This should include events supporting all membership types, specialist groups and our networks.
• Manage the team responsible for delivery and ensure productive relationships between staff and suppliers as well as academic and commercial partners
• Develop and manage project budgets including the Annual Conference from inception to completion in consultation with team members and the Operations and Finance Team, reporting to the Chief Executive and Trustees.
• Oversee existing systems to monitor progress and expenditure through the regular scrutiny and review of budgets and project plans, from proposal though implementation and delivery
• Support team members in the delivery of PSA’s annual conference and the wider events programme, ensuring that all of these are of the highest quality and linked to the PSA’s wider strategic priorities ensuring all these events are risk-assessed, insured, delivered cost-effectively, on time and to a high professional standard
• Exploit opportunities to increase membership, profile, reach, and income including sponsorship and advertising as well as opportunities to increase inclusion through technology. This will include you and your team building relationships with potential sponsors, advertisers and exhibitors to maximise the opportunities available at PSA events and in our publications including selling sponsorship/stand/exhibition space to potential exhibitors/partners
• Conduct post-event evaluation to ensure continuous improvement and assess impact
• Ensure a pipeline of future annual conferences and other events through effective engagement with trustees and university Politics departments and other stakeholders.

The successful applicant will work alongside our Trustees, our CEO and our existing Head of Fundraising and Communications in a jobshare to meet challenging fundraising targets. Assist the Legacy Administration Team Leader by playing a pivotal role within the Legacy Administration Team, managing a diverse and active caseload of specific, residuary, and reversionary bequests.
Ensure the protection and maximisation of legacy income for Marie Curie by adhering to best practices and maintaining effective and sensitive communication with solicitors and personal executors, enhancing the charity's reputation.

The Legacy Administration Team plays a crucial role in generating income for the charity, working closely with marketing and local legacy fundraising partners. We promote personal development through ongoing training and collaboration across the Directorate and organisation.

Responsibilities

- Manage a caseload of specific, residuary, and reversionary legacies across the UK.
- Ensure Marie Curie receives its full entitlement in accordance with legal requirements, Wills, and settlements.
- Handle correspondence promptly, meeting internal service level agreements, and update case files accordingly.
- Liaise with other charities and act as lead charity when needed.
- Record and update legacy information in the FirstClass 4 database.
- Regularly review open cases, ensuring timely action to conclude them.
- Scrutinise estate accounts, ensuring correct administration and tax exemptions are applied.
- Obtain tax deduction certificates where cost-effective.
- Allocate legacies to restricted or unrestricted funds as per the Will.
- Comply with Law Society guidelines on Non-Contentious costs.
- Protect Marie Curie's interests in shared estates and lead charity discussions when appropriate.
- Represent Marie Curie in all correspondence with legal professionals and the public.
- Identify opportunities to increase the value of bequests and proactively manage asset sales.
- Recognise risks or disputes affecting entitlement and escalate as necessary.

A fantastic opportunity has arisen to join our bank of casual workers as a Welfare Officer, providing cover as required for the SSAFA RAF Service across the UK.

Our Bank Welfare Officers will provide direct and impactful welfare support to RAF personnel and their immediate family on an ad hoc basis when a full-time member of the team is unavailable to do so.

As a trusted and confidential source of support, you will assist our service users with challenges they are facing, from mental ill-health, difficult relationships, domestic abuse, financial and cost-of-living concerns, resettlement, housing, childcare, equality issues, bereavement, military discharge or deployment and many more - no day will be the same, as such this is a great opportunity to develop your knowledge and skills within the Welfare sector.

Our intervention is provided with consent on a non-statutory basis, and you will work with and engage our service users to develop appropriate interventions for individual outcomes.

Our service is transitioning to become more accessible and inclusive, digital technology plays a key role in this, as such you may be asked to use digital technologies to complement and enhance processes and service user experience.

About you

We’re looking for a community rail support officer to support our network of community rail partnerships (CRPs) and station adoption groups in the Midlands and East of England.

About us

Community Rail Network is a not-for-profit organisation, working across Britain, supporting a growing ‘community rail’ movement, which helps communities get the most from their railways, promotes sustainable and inclusive travel, coordinates volunteering and place-making, and brings people together.

Community rail is made up of 75 community-based partnership organisations, and around 1,200 station friends volunteer groups and other community-led initiatives around Britain. Their activities range from creative projects for young people, to advising train operators on service improvements, to building travel confidence with families and disabled people, to biodiversity projects at stations, to promoting greener travel and tourism by rail.

Our enthusiastic staff team of 22 people works mainly from home in different locations, but we come together regularly in person and online. We work collaboratively to advise our members, provide training, events and resources, run campaigns, and champion community rail and its insights via decision-makers and the media. About this role

The purpose of this role is to provide support and advice to community rail partnerships and groups on delivering maximum benefit within and with their communities, working collaboratively with the railways and wider partners. The role will support our members across an area covering the West Midlands, Central England and East Anglia, so it is desirable for you to be based in this area.

You’ll be comfortable engaging and advising local groups and communities to extend existing and set up new initiatives, and to reach wider audiences with an evidence-led, place-based approach. As well as supporting local groups, you’ll work closely with the rail industry, and wider third and public sector partners to ensure collaboration and shared success.
 

Main responsibilities

1. Provide direct support and advice to CRPs and their officers, and other community rail groups in the region. This includes responding to queries and requests, passing on specialist queries to other members of the team, and providing proactive support through an annual planning and accreditation process and as set out in our plans.

2. Support the development of skills, confidence and effectiveness across the network of CRPs and station groups, helping them to increase their positive social, environmental and economic impact, including through referral to our training, events and resources.

3. Support the development of emerging community rail partnerships, station friend groups and community-led stations and railway-related projects in the region.

4. Helping our members to work effectively with rail, transport, local government and community partners, supporting effective relationship building and showing positive leadership and insights on community rail within the region.

5. Work with our regions support manager on delivery and monitoring of our grant schemes, and support CRPs and groups in the region to apply, deliver successfully and report back on funded work.

6. Gather and share examples, feedback and insights from our members across the region, to facilitate best practice sharing and confidence across community rail and to feed into our communications, resources, events and public affairs work.

Other information

The community rail support officer reports to our regions support manager within the Support and Development team. This is a new position, expanding our small team.

The role is 3.5-4 days per week (25.9 to 29.6 hours) with a degree of flexibility and out-of-hours working (evenings and weekends). It is home-based, but with regular travel (including occasional overnight stays) across your region and occasionally beyond for member meetings and events and to take part in our wider national activity. Applicants will need local access to a train station to enable rail-based travel for work as needed, including good links across the Midlands and East of England.

The Peer Support and Community team at Kinship is dedicated to enhancing the lives of kinship carers across England and Wales by delivering the first national peer support service. By fostering connections within local, regional, and national ecosystems, the team plays a vital role in ensuring that every kinship carer has access to a supportive community.

This role is community-based and focuses on engaging kinship carers, bringing them together to form Peer Support Groups, and supporting them to achieve independence at which point they will receive ongoing support from our national Hub.

You’ll create a welcoming, inclusive, and supportive community for kinship carers, building belonging, resilience, and empowerment.

Funded by the Department of Education, the National Peer Support Service is a game-changing service that creates a sustainable and life-changing legacy. It builds on Kinship’s 10 years of experience in developing peer support groups and two years of delivering a national service that has set up 145 new groups.

Who we are looking for

We are seeking an individual located in South East of England, who possesses the drive, passion, and skills to:

• Develop new Peer Support Groups across a diverse range of communities
• Demonstrate the energy and enthusiasm required to achieve key targets and objectives
• Work collaboratively within the Peer Support and Community Team, as well as throughout the broader organisation, to ensure the development of safe and effective support services for the kinship community.
• Maintain current Peer Support Group levels, taking the lead from the national Hub.
• Maintain accurate records that are used to populate reports, identify learning and share key insights across Kinship that allow the organisation to continuously improve our services and products.

You should have experience in developing and maintaining meaningful relationships with various community-based stakeholders such as local authorities, health services, schools, charities, and kinship carers. You will need to understand the key success factors involved in establishing and developing new in-person groups in areas of high need, as well as how to support existing groups in their journey towards sustainability.

As a practical thinker, you will work creatively to identify stakeholders and assets in areas of high need. You will build local connections and bring together kinship carers across the region, empowering them to build resilient and robust peer support communities.

You will be confident in building relationships that generate referrals from external stakeholders and in contacting kinship carers directly to secure engagement with local coffee mornings, community, and training events that will help kick-start a thriving peer support group.

As you establish new groups, you will provide support and training to help them lead their groups effectively, and develop their group culture, resilience, and skills to function independently while offering reassurance and support to empower them.

We are ideally looking for candidates based close or within easy reach of our priority development areas in the South East of England which include; Reading, Oxfordshire, West Berkshire, Slough and Hampshire but also able to travel to locations along the M4 corridor.

Founded in 2017, The Anti-Slavery Collective (TASC) is a connector and convener of people, groups, and ideas. Our mission is to create linkages between decision-makers, corporates, and civil society allies to disrupt modern slavery and human trafficking.

We have built partnerships with business pioneers, civil society allies, and leaders, hosted high-level events, brought the issue of modern slavery back to the World Economic Forum, and amplified survivor leaders' voices.

About the Role

The Director of Partnerships will lead TASC’s partnership efforts, responsible for cultivating and securing new partnerships, and delivering on partnership strategies. You will manage relationships with key strategic partners, donors, civil society allies, and academic stakeholders. The Director of Partnerships will work closely with the CEO, contributing to the charity’s broader external relations activities, while operating with independence and professionalism.

Key Responsibilities

• Partnership Strategy and Relationship Management:

  • Contribute to developing new partnership strategies.
  • Manage deliverables and track impact milestones as outlined in partnership strategies.
  • Oversee day-to-day correspondence with donors and strategic partners.
  • Facilitate meetings and visits with key stakeholders.
  • Support the CEO and team members in engaging with strategic partners.
  • Lead or contribute to relevant research projects.

• Internal Coordination:

  • Build strong relationships with colleagues to ensure effective information sharing.
  • Coordinate joint inputs for briefs, communication materials, and applications.
  • Collaborate with the team in producing and disseminating deliverables, updates, and communication materials.
  • Regularly contribute to TASC's internal Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system.

• Operational Support:

  • Support the organisation’s broader projects or events as required.
  • Maintain relationships with NGOs, research institutions, and stakeholders to stay informed about trends, collaborations, and funding opportunities.

• Grant Management:

  • Manage all aspects of grant servicing, ensuring deadlines are met and donor requirements are fulfilled.
  • Draft and collate reports and grant applications, ensuring alignment with donor requirements.
  • Maintain systems for tracking grant data and provide information for internal use and Board papers.

• Management:

  • Line-manage a direct report (Partnerships Manager).

Qualifications and Experience

Essential:

• Right to work in London.
• Excellent written English.
• Proven experience in building cross-sector partnerships, especially with corporate partners.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to engage with a range of stakeholders.
• Ability to meet tight deadlines and manage multiple assignments simultaneously.
• High level of initiative and ability to work independently.

Desirable:

• Experience in a corporate partnership or similar role.
• Knowledge or experience in the field of modern slavery, human rights, or development.
• Understanding of contracting and grant-making processes.
• Willingness and ability to travel locally and internationally.

Compensation

• 25 days holiday (pro rata), plus public holidays.
