The Head of Region provides strategic and operational leadership in the region, ensuring the effective and efficient operation of the regional team and the successful development and delivery of the regional business plan and projects. Key relationships
Internally, the Head of Region works closely with the Director of Operations and other Heads of Region to support consistent operational delivery, and management and development of regional staff. The role also interacts closely with all other CCT teams including Conservation, Fundraising & Communication, Initiatives & Partnerships, and Finance.
Externally, the Head of Region is CCT’s regional representative, brokering joint working and engagement with statutory and Church of England stakeholders, funders, politicians at all levels, volunteers, communities and donors.

THE ROLE
We are looking for a motivated and passionate Director of Finance and Operationsto join our team, to provide strategic and financial leadership and support to Climate Spring as it continues to grow
Key responsibilities:
- Strategic leadership on all finance and operational matters affecting Climate Spring’s activities
- Manage and oversee the organisation’s budget in line with the organisation’s strategy
- Support the Executive Director and Director of Impact with fundraising strategy and funder management.
- Oversee the financial management of the organisation
- Provide financial and operational leadership for the organisation’s establishment of a new production fund
- Prepare and present financial reports for board and funders.
- Manage relevant internal and departmental operational developments

This is the opportunity to play an influential and impactful role in one of the most important causes of our generation – the climate emergency. Trees will enable 25% of the UK's 2050 net zero ambition and this role sits at the heart of this, supporting one of the UK’s largest woodland creation partnerships, England’s Community Forests.
The Community Forest Trust (CFT) is a charity that supports, enables and champions England’s Community Forests (ECFs). Across England there are 15 Community Forests that deliver social, economic, and environmental impact through woodland creation and restoration. In 2024/2025 they will plant over 2.5 million trees, most of which are funded through Defra’s national tree planting programme, the Nature for Climate Fund Programme.
The Managing Director will have the drive, rigour, and organisational and stakeholder management skills to develop and deliver a new CFT Business Plan. The current Business Plan was developed in 2022 and runs to March 2025. It has now been delivered.
The Managing Director will be responsible for providing the overall leadership and management of CFT and ensure effective governance and compliance with all legal requirements. To fulfil this aim, the Managing Director must ensure that robust structures and systems are in place to deliver CFT’s strategic priorities and CFT’s charitable aims and objectives.
A few key responsibilities of the role include:
- Take ownership of delivering the future direction and shape of CFT and deliver the CFT vision
- Provide organisational leadership for CFT, establishing and implementing business objectives through a business plan
- Work closely with the Chair of the Board, Trustees and staff, building positive working relationships in a constructive and consultative environment
- Manage the agreements (service delivery) with the ECFs with who CFT has a specific and formal arrangement
- Deliver the services and outcomes to the ECF Network, the Forests that CFT supports and those Forests that CFT runs
- Support project development work taking place at local level to support the Northern Forest programme
- Develop and lead funding strategies and write or assist with writing funding bids when required

What will you be doing?
- Leading the Challenging Lives programme strategy - Identifying and managing partnership opportunities to drive charitable impact and trading revenue as well as championing and broadening the impact of YHAs Breaks programme, and developing partnerships and programmes with synergistic organisation.
- You'll build effective relationships, identifying and managing relationships with key charity partners as well as conducting periodical reviews of processes and best practise, setting mutually agreed targets.
- Delivering YHA’s Breaks programme, building relationships with beneficiary organisations, co-designing programmes with them to meet the needs of young people. You will also attend and present the Breaks programme at supporter engagement events as and when required.
- Ensuring all programmes and activities are suitable and impactful for beneficiaries and that due diligence is applied.
- You will build and identify relationships with organisations and businesses to further YHA’s charitable trading interests for example home education network groups, uniformed groups and non-education youth groups.
- Coordinating and facilitating summer camps programmes with the Army, Navy, RAF, and agree activities and ensure special requirements are adhered to and communicated with internal teams providing a full debrief post-delivery.
- Ensuring engagement and buying from key internal stakeholders through robust internal communication processes.
- You'll lead the programme process, coordinating the capture of impact and providing evidence of the Breaks programme to the fundraising team to enable them to report funders. You'll also manage the Breaks programme application process and coordinate the decision panel, keep the Breaks P&L up to date with spend allocation in accordance with the funders wish and or restrictions, managing the customer journey for all Breaks customers and provide accurate content to ensure that the website and all publications are kept up to date and engaging.
What Skills and Experience do you need?
We are looking for candidates with the following qualities:
- Experience of developing partnerships and commercial relationships, ideally at a national level
- Excellent communication skills with ability to build strong internal relationships with key internal stakeholders and experience of influencing at Senior and Executive management level
- Broad knowledge and understanding of YHA’s customer base, education & youth programmes / and wider charity sector

We are looking for a highly organised events planner with a talent for managing every detail from start to finish and who can continue the success of our annual online conference, dedicated to helping people understand more about macular disease.

This is a key role within the Engagement Directorate at Blind Veterans UK as we are working through a new strategy which ensures we become data and insight led and put our audiences at the centre of all our communication. This presents an excellent opportunity for you to help revolutionise how Blind Veterans UK conducts data selections and to play a key role in producing actionable insights as we seek to increase the sophistication of our marketing activity and deliver an excellent supporter experience.
You will be responsible for the accurate and timely delivery of complex database extracts from Raiser’s Edge using FastStats, ensuring all data selections are delivered to a high standard for communications to Blind Veteran UK supporters. This includes ensuring data selections are scheduled, developed, tested and checked, and delivered in accordance with the agreed brief and deadlines. The critical element to this role is developing a campaign planning process that embeds a test and learn culture and drives innovation and improvement in our communications.
You will work with the Insight Manager and wider Engagement (fundraising and Comms & Marketing) Team to implement journeys and automations to improve second gift rates and drive sustainable income.
As well as leading on data selections, you will manage the insight planning and request project boards, working with the Insight Manager to respond to both ad-hoc insight requests and longer term insight projects.
Main duties and responsibilities of the role - what you'll be doing:
- Lead on data selections. Responsible for ensuring all data selections are produced in an accurate, consistent and timely fashion, in accordance with agreed data selection briefs and deadlines.
- Manage the scheduling of delivering data selections to ensure there is clarity on what data selections are upcoming, to manage any potential clashes and to plan and prioritise the workload.
- Develop an excellent process and structure for delivering data selections that guarantees their consistency and accuracy.
- Work with stakeholders to ensure data selection briefs are completed correctly, definitions are clarified, and the final selection meets the criteria outlined in the brief.
- Work with the Insight Manager to identify insight-driven recommendations for campaign planning, and to ensure testing within data selections is valid and robust.
- Attend end of campaign meetings, and lead on the presentation of results and test outcomes and feedback on process improvements.
- Work with the Insight Manager to drive forward innovations in data selections, such as using propensity models to identify the right supporters to communicate with.
- Continually seek to improve the data selection process with the aim of automating and streamlining to improve the accuracy of selections.
- Lead on the implementation of a campaign planning process focussed on driving improvement in selection results through data-informed decision-making.
- Play a leading role in the planning of the calendar to manage communication activities.
- Work with the Insight Manager and Data Management functions to ensure the necessary data is being captured and is accurate, to enable campaign analysis to be conducted.
- Work with 3rd parties to ensure the timely and secure transfer of data selection files.
- Build and monitor supporter journeys for all data cohorts, improving the process based on findings.

Key responsibilities

•Horizon scan to spot social and news trends as well as potential influencer targets
•Manage our social platforms, keeping abreast of media and public zeitgeist about our cause and related issues. You will design and deliver paid advertising campaigns and monitor, respond, share, engage, comment on posts, according to our guidelines and with responsibility for reputation management
•Share audience insights with colleagues to ensure effective stewardship of all our defined audiences
•Support development of media relationships. You will curate press and media lists and respond to media queries, with shared out of hours responsibility.
