The Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition (GAIN) is seeking a visionary and strategic financial leader to join our team as Chief Finance Officer (CFO). This executive-level role offers a unique opportunity to shape the financial future of an organization committed to tackling the global challenge of malnutrition. . The Role

As CFO, you will play a pivotal role in our Strategic Management Team (SMT), providing financial leadership that aligns with our bold strategy. You will ensure that GAIN’s financial plans are robust, transparent, and meet the highest standards of probity, while also ensuring compliance with donor requirements for budgeting and reporting. You will lead GAIN’s finance team, providing the strategic direction necessary to support our ambitious goals.

This role can be based in London (UK), Nairobi (Kenya), or New Delhi (India), offering flexibility for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities include:

• Strategic Financial Leadership: Provide expert financial analysis, strategic guidance, and sound financial management across GAIN. Lead the finance team to support the organization’s strategic goals.
• Corporate Finance: Develop and manage GAIN’s corporate finance activities, ensuring robust financial systems and processes that are user-centric and future-proofed for a growing organization.
• Budgeting and Reporting: Oversee effective budgeting and financial planning, supporting the development and use of KPIs, and ensuring transparency and value for money.
• Risk, Compliance, and Controls: Manage relationships with external auditors and ensure compliance with all relevant accounting standards. Oversee risk management, financial controls, and regulatory compliance.

Your Profile

The ideal candidate will have a distinguished career in finance, ideally within the non-profit or related sectors, and a proven track record at the Finance Director or CFO level in a multi-country context. Key attributes include:

• A recognised professional finance qualification (e.g., ACA, FCA, CPA).
• Extensive experience in strategic financial planning, budgeting, and managing financial operations in a complex, global environment.
• Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to lead a geographically dispersed team.
• Deep understanding of diverse regulatory environments, particularly those relevant to Swiss Foundations.
• Expertise in donor and project funding, FOREX, and cash optimisation in a non-profit context.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage with a wide range of stakeholders, including Board members, donors, and non-financial staff.

The Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition (GAIN) is a Swiss-based foundation launched at the United Nations in 2002 to tackle the human suffering caused by malnutrition. Due to COVID19, conflict in Ukraine and climate change, malnutrition and hunger have worsened significantly since 2019, reversing a decade of progress. There is growing recognition that our food systems need to change if we are to reverse these trends.

GAIN’s Strategy aims to transform food systems to make healthier diets from sustainable food systems accessible to all people and especially those whose are most vulnerable to shocks. The Retail team at Shelter plays a vital role in supporting our mission and are based throughout England and Scotland.

With a network of charity shops and online retail channel, we generate income to fund our essential services and campaigns.

We are seeking a dynamic and strategic leader to join us as Assistant Director of Retail. In this senior-level position, you will be at the forefront of driving positive change through our retail operations. Crisis is the national charity for people experiencing homelessness. In 2024 we embarked on our new 10-year strategy for ending homelessness. We know it is not inevitable. We know together we can end it.

We are recruiting for an Assistant Shop Manager to join our Ealing shop in West London, opening soon. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a difference and deliver positive social impact in the local community while also raising money to fund Crisis’ work ending homelessness.

About the role

We are recruiting for an Assistant Shop Manager to join a busy and creative team in Ealing. You will join an exciting new team of 3 and collaborate to build a group of volunteers from all walks of life, raising money to fund Crisis’ work ending homelessness. We are bold with a culture of continuous review and improvement, where we try new things, take risks, and sometimes fail. There will be numerous opportunities to improve our team’s effectiveness. Your voice will count!

Ealing is one of our newest shops to open and will have an amazing range of high street and streetwear donations; processing, pricing and displaying a large volume of stock will be a big part of this role. The team will also develop a vibrant events programme, of craft workshops, art exhibitions, fashion collabs and more!

We also work closely with local artists and universities. We’d love you to bring your own ideas, along with your experience of fashion, retail and current trends, to this role. You will have opportunities to build your own skills and career progression through training and development – many of our shop managers were promoted internally. Ensuring our recruitment practices are as equitable as possible is our number one priority so we are looking for someone who advocates for others and challenges injustice.

This is a permanent role. You will be primarily based in the Ealing shop, but you may be required to travel to other shops within London 1 & 2 on a short-term basis.

About you

To be successful in this role you will have retail experience at a supervisory level alongside a genuine interest in charity retail. You will be keen to build your people management skills including working with Crisis members. We are particularly interested in meeting candidates with an interest or background in visual merchandising, although this is not essential. You will be committed to Crisis’s values and mission to end homelessness.

The Merton Social Prescribing service is one of the most established and mature services in the UK and is celebrating its 7th anniversary this year. We are seeking an individual to join our successful service in Southwest London. This role will help to strengthen the links between Primary Care, voluntary and public services to improve patients’ health and wellbeing. 

You will provide a person centred service to patients within Primary Care GP practices in Merton, and you will also support each patient to access appropriate services provided by voluntary and community organisations and other agencies. 

Social prescribing expands the options available in Primary Care by creating a ‘managed’ way for referrals of patients with social, emotional and/or practical needs. Patients ca n be linked to a variety of local non-clinical services in the community. These include leisure, social activities, education, welfare, housing and employment advice and support.

In addition to overseeing policy and research output, you would be responsible for leading a democratic and governance structure that is so innovative it is currently the source of an international academic study. We Are Survivors are currently looking for an individual that has the passion, drive and determination to help us deliver our OUT Spoken Talking Therapy Services in our Greater Manchester and Merseyside estates (on a part-time basis) – As we continue to provide services in prisons across the Northwest.

For nearly 16 years, We Are Survivors has provided survivor-focused therapeutic and advocacy support to male (including Trans and Non-binary) victims/survivors of sexual abuse, rape, and sexual exploitation. We have developed a three-tiered approach to services and underpin everything we do with a ‘trauma and recovery’ framework pioneered by Dr Judith Herman.

We are currently commissioned to deliver trauma-informed therapy services in 15 prisons across the Northwest of England and are looking for motivated and skilled practitioners to work in a fascinating, vital, and sometimes challenging environment.

Believe you are right for this role?

You will be a qualified counsellor / psychotherapist who holds at least a Diploma in Counselling / Psychotherapy or equivalent and be registered with BACP or equivalent (preferably an accredited member). You will understand issues relating to trauma, be able to work as part of a team and feel confident working in a prison setting.

In return for your time, experience, and commitment to the organisation, you will receive an annual salary of £27,810; 25 days annual leave (increasing annually by 1 day to max of 30 days) plus bank holidays; birthday leave; company sick pay; monthly clinical supervision; pension contribution; a range of training opportunities; and access to different benefit schemes.

Head of Communications

Purpose

Key responsibilities and duties

This is an exciting and vital role to shape and deliver a multi-channel communications strategy for a leading mental health charity, focused on supporting the systems around children and young people including parents/carers, schools, colleges and universities. The main responsibilities will include creating and overseeing the activation of the marketing strategy and using data insights and analytics to grow and develop the Trust’s reach and support. The role will also act as the guardian to the organisation’s website as the main resource and marketing hub.

The role will enable the charity to proactively grow awareness, drive engagement and shape understanding of the Charlie Waller Trust by taking an audience-first approach to communicating our impact and purpose in an engaging and strategic way.

As a member of the senior leadership team, the role requires working closely with the CEO and other heads of teams to develop and grow the marketing and communications strategy, to raise awareness of the charity’s resources and to support the generation of income through the marketing of fundraising and workplace activities. The role will also work closely with and report into the Board of Trustees.

We are looking for a strategic thinker, with experience of both traditional and digital marketing. Someone who enjoys working with data and is always on the lookout for interesting angles or new channels or tactics to test. A passion for using marketing to understand and reach new audiences is vital. An analytical eye is needed alongside an ability to be creative and a desire to share success stories to further raise awareness of the organisation and to extend its reach.

Empathy for our audience and the ability to communicate in a way that allows them to feel seen and understood is important; you will need to have strong interpersonal skills, a desire to develop and build a team and to maintain communication and relationships with others across the organisation.

Inquisitive and creative, you’ll enjoy proposing fresh ideas and approaches for marketing with a keen eye for detail and a solid understanding of how marketing sits within the organisation as a whole.

Richmond Fellowship works as part of the Bridge the Gap Alliance within a well-established, multidisciplinary team set up to meet the needs of homeless people based in East Surrey. We provide support to clients with interventions through specialist workers including Mental Health, Substance Misuse, Community Inclusion, Homelessness, Crisis Prevention, Social Work, and financial support.

We are currently seeking an Outreach Worker who will be responsible for engaging with individuals with multiple and complex needs and working alongside internal & external agencies. You will support people through their journeys into statutory and voluntary services. The post holder will be expected to navigate local service provision, building strong relationships with a range of different professionals whilst advocating on the client’s behalf.

We will work with local partners to co-ordinate the care of clients to influence change in the way that organisations provide services to individuals facing multiple needs and exclusions.
