About the role:
The Head of Family Service will lead and manage our Family Service across all locations, providing holistic support to families with children and young adults with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).
This role involves the delivery of grant and commissioned outcomes, supporting the Assistant Director for Children, Families and Communities and working with the Head of Community Engagement to secure new funding, ensuring services meet the current and future needs of children and young adults and of their families.
The Head of Family Service will build a high-performing team, work with stakeholders, and operate within legislation, policies, budgets, and other parameters to deliver outstanding support.
This role involves ambitious family-centred practice, tailored support plans, and ensuring positive outcomes for families. The Head of Family Service will encourage parent and carer engagement in consultation and participation activities, work effectively with a multidisciplinary team of external professionals, and establish and maintain close operational relationships with schools, family hubs, social care and health services.
We are looking for someone who has a good understanding of Special Education Needs and Disabilities and the challenges to navigate education, health and welfare systems. They need to understand needs of families and be able to work collaboratively to achieve our goals. The ideal candidate will be able to self-motivate and work independently whilst keeping in line with LDN London.

We are looking for support workers to join our Learning Disabilities team. Support workers are part of a flexible team working with adults who have learning disabilities, who use the Bede Centre in Bermondsey SE16.
We work in a person-centred way to enable people with learning disabilities to become as independent as possible, to make their own choices and to be fully part of the community. We do this by supporting them to develop and maintain skills, try new opportunities, make and maintain friendships and spend their time in ways valued by them and the community. We work in partnership with other local charities, to provide as many social, volunteering and work opportunities as we can to the people that come to Bede.
Our core service runs Monday-Friday, 9:30am-3:30pm, and we also support other projects and social clubs in the late afternoons. We currently have the following shifts available, from 9:30am to 3:30pm on each day:

Children & Young People’s Residential Practitioners
Salary: £27,400 to £29,000 pa + benefits (based on a 36-hr working week)
Location: Working exclusively at our all-female Children’s Home, Yvonne House, SW8 (Zone 2)

The setting is an all-female Children’s Home for 13-to-17-year-olds.
Ideal candidates will join a strong team of Practitioners who put love and kindness into everything they do.
We are passionate about learning and development and committed to providing an outstanding experience for all staff. After completing your probation, we’ll enrol you on a Diploma programme and give you the time, support and incentives to succeed.
Practitioners typically work at least two 12-hr shifts pw, one 8hr shift, and attend team meetings, training, and group thinking space on Fridays from 9.30am to 12.30pm. The total number of working hours is 36 hrs pw. 4hrs per week are allocated to self-study to support the successful completion of your probation and, once enrolled, the Children and Young People’s Practitioner Diploma (Level 4).

We are seeking a dynamic Family Finding Social Worker or Senior Practitioner wishing to play an active role in the delivery and development of a high-quality family finding service for the London Borough of Hillingdon, for children with a plan for adoption.
The post holder will be one of two professionals responsible for family finding for children with a care plan of adoption within the local area.
The post holder will be part of a small and very supportive team to develop practise and skills in this area. The post holder will also be able to have access resources and services within Hillingdon to support this role and be part of a bigger network of support from colleagues from across the RAA. This role will function as 6 month fixed contract with the possibility of an extension to offer continuity to the children we are family finding for.

The AFRUCA Child Protection Family Support Service sits within AFRUCA as one of our most impactful programmes targeting families from a range of ethnic backgrounds across England and Wales. The service works closely with local authorities children’s services in cases involving families on child protection plans or in court proceedings. We provide direct one to one training and support for parents to aid their ability to provide appropriate parenting and ensure a safer, happier home environment for their children.
The AFRUCA Child Protection Service currently has a team of five qualified social workers and supports over 50 families each year. We also provide a therapeutic service where children are being reunified with their parents. We are establishing a child protection legal drop in service for families in contact with children’s services and an advocacy service for parents in the child protection system.
Most of our families are referred by local authorities children’s services as a result of cultural and religious practices which are deemed harmful to children’s well-being. Contact has a long history of supporting families of children with disabilities aged 0-25 in the London Borough of Lambeth. The project has an office in the Weare 336 building in Brixton.
The project currently has a full time Project Manager, and we are looking to recruit a part time Family Worker. The project is directly line managed by the national Contact’s London Family Support Projects Manager.

Main Responsibilities:
- Manage a case load working in partnership with agencies to provide integrated and planned interventions, giving advice, information, and practical and emotional support to families.
- Undertake direct work with children and their families who are assessed as requiring help and support, both at the Centre, community and in the home environment for emerging need and targeted services, offering timely support and interventions to address identified needs.
- Provide support for the family, using a variety of interventions including motivational interviewing, solution focused approaches and accredited parenting strategies.
- Deliver 1:1 evidence-based parenting programmes of support to achieve best outcomes for families and priority groups and record observations on electronic systems to the agreed standard and within agreed timescales.
- Plan, deliver and evaluate targeted services within the Family Centre and community venues.
- Deal effectively with challenging situations and the ability to be proactive to motivate and create change with complex family situations.
- Convene, chair, and minute-take for multi-agency meetings as appropriate.
- Maintain accurate records including use of the Early Help Management System (EHM) of all interventions and communications, including Early Help assessments, plans, chronologies, reviews, and outcomes electronically; share information with other professionals as appropriate (with consent).
- Coordinate and facilitate TAF/TAC meetings and provide precise information.
- Develop community knowledge and links for the benefit of children, young people and their families and the wider family support service.
- Use the various IT systems and programmes to log families progress which includes the Early Help Management system and Outcome Star records.
- Work at various locations throughout Reigate and Banstead or Mole Valley.
- Work alongside other YMCA East Surrey Children and Young People managers and staff to share good practice.
- Ensure YMCA East Surrey’s policies and procedures are followed at all times, including safeguarding, health and safety.
- Any other duties are required to be performed within the grade and renumeration of the role.
- Ensure that all activities demonstrate the values and culture of YMCA East Surrey.

What you'll do:

Managing customer referrals, completing assessments and obtaining and maintaining all relevant paperwork.
Maximising referrals to ensure service capacity.
Developing productive relationships with partner organisations to improve service outcomes.
Adhering to lone working protocols and maintaining high levels of awareness in relation to the health and safety of yourself and colleagues.
Involving customers in the design, development and delivery of the service.
Empowering customers to ensure they receive the service and benefits they are entitled to.
Encouraging and enabling tenants to pay their rent and avoid personal debt.
Ensuring Look Ahead Health and Safety policies and local protocols are adhered to at all times e.g. fire risk assessments, fire alarm checks etc.
Taking on shift leading responsibilities by coordinating and leading shifts in the absence of a manager.

Future Roots Supported accommodation is located in Welwyn Garden City. We are looking fo a Supported Accommodation Worker who will support the 5 Housemates to learn the skills they require to live independently, whilst ensuring the accommodation is a safe and homely environment to live in. The role will require a reasonable degree of flexibility, to respond to the needs of the house. What will you be doing?

Manage a varied caseload with differing timescales and deadlines.

We are looking for experienced practitioners who are qualified to level 3 in childcare or a related field and have a passion for working with families to help them achieve their best outcomes.
Job Purpose: To provide focused 1-1 and group family support for families with children and young people aged 0-19 years old (up to 25 years for young adults with additional needs). You will also identify and promote opportunities for employment, education and training and support residents to remove barriers to accessing these opportunities.

About the Role
Chance UK has been delivering early-intervention services across London since 1995. Our longest running programme is our mentoring service where Mentors pick the child up from home and run a 1:1 session in the community, once a week for 2 hours. They use the solution-focused approach to work on building the child’s self-esteem and confidence, set goals and explore new places.
In addition, we are growing a range of community based groups running after school as well as some workshops delivered in schools which will support children with developing social and emotional skills and resilience through activities or skills development.
The balance between 1:1 work and group delivery will change according to services commissioned so the post holder will need to be flexible accordingly.
We are ideally looking for someone for this role who is in easy proximity to South London as we have a number of children South of the river that need support.
