An exciting opportunity to join the Rank Foundation team in London or Penrith as Alumni Development Officer through the Time to Shine leadership programme. This new post has been created to support the development and implementation of a range of activities to engage and connect with the Rank Fellows to foster long lasting relationships. The postholder will play a pivotal role in strengthening relationships between the Foundation and its alumni community.
The position is offered on a 12-month, full time basis, and the postholder must be able to join early January. The post-holder will be part of the Rank Foundation’s Time to Shine (T2S) leadership programme. As part of the Time to Shine 2025 Cohort, you will be supported through learning conferences, leadership days, action learning and will have access to career relevant training and qualifications.

Key accountabilities:
Alumni Programme Research & Development:
- To assist with the identification of and engagement with the wider alumni community
- To implement a range of activities to engage with Rank’s alumni community;
- To design, plan and deliver Fellowship events, webinars, and other programmes that promote networking and professional development opportunities among Fellows/alumni;
- To create and develop relationships with the Fellows/alumni to increase involvement in the Foundation’s activities;
- To administer the mentoring programme connecting older Fellows with younger ones at the beginning of their professional careers;
- To liaise with the Comms team to raise the social media profile of the Rank Fellowship Alumni Network;
- To serve as the primary point of contact for alumni inquiries, communications, and requests;
- To be the secretariat for the Fellows Leadership Team, drafting agendas, minute taking, and following up on actions
- To design, plan and deliver School Leadership events with support from the Finance & Operations Officer
Data & Reporting:
- Manage the Fellowship database, ensuring it is kept up to date
- Send out digital surveys, monitor and track key deliverables;
- Collect achievements and contributions from Fellows to showcase impact;
- Collate and prepare reports based on survey outcomes to assess the effectiveness of the programme.

Who we are looking for:

The Head of Development and Impact will be our lead fundraiser, drawing in support and expertise from across the team. They will take ownership of identifying funding sources, creating a strategy, forecasting our fundraising income, and building strong relationships with donors, bringing the experiences of our group members to life in fundraising communications. They will line management a full-time fundraiser who specialises in individual giving while the Head of Developent, Operations and Impact will lead on grant writing.

We are a highly impactful organisation that is often looked to for our insight in the sector. The role:
The Head of Development, Operations and Impact is required to lead a wide range of activities. You will be expected to manage your own time, prioritising tasks and leading a small team of people who contribute to CARAS’ fundraising. You will inherit excellent systems and skilled, supportive and enthusiastic team players. You will work closely with the CEO, and the senior leadership team which draws together Heads of Service from each of our programme areas. Leading CARAS’ annual outcomes evaluation, managing work across departments to collect, disaggregate and analyse outcomes data from our Learning, Casework and Social Programmes.

Monitoring the wealth of data CARAS collects through our frontline service to ensure we stay agile and adaptable within a changing policy context, supporting Heads of Service and other relevant stakeholders to deliver excellence.

The Role

Your first job will be to draft our Social Media and Creative Communications Plan, setting out the key opportunities, milestones and targets for the next few years.

The Holocaust Educational Trust (HET) is a registered charity working with schools, colleges and communities across the country to raise awareness about the Holocaust and its relevance today.
We have an exciting opportunity for an Education and Production Officer to join our team based in Central London. After several years of research and development, we have recently launched Testimony 360, a brand-new digital programme for UK secondary schools that uses interactive survivor testimony and virtual reality to innovatively teach about the Holocaust. Through the programme, students can have a personal and conversational experience with a recording of a Holocaust survivor before seeing some of the sites they experienced for themselves using virtual reality headsets, all without leaving their classroom.
The successful candidate will serve as a member of the Trust’s Testimony 360 Team, responsible for the digital post-production and testing of interactive recorded testimony to ensure its fluency and usability in the classroom. We are looking for an individual with confident IT skills and the ability to quickly learn how to use new technologies and programmes. As an expert in Holocaust education, you will also contribute to the successful delivery of our Testimony 360 programme through weekly in-person school visits during term time or as required.
Responsibilities
Post-Production, interactive survivor testimony
· Lead on the development (post-production) of interactive testimony, including clipping, annotation, data/metadata input, and Alpha/Beta testing. Throughout testing, leading the training process which ensures the system’s accuracy.
· Maintain regular contact with our partner organisation, the USC Shoah Foundation, including progress updates, shared learning, required training.
· Support colleagues undertaking training and/or working on supportive post-production.
· Logging activity and decisions regarding the post-production editing process, as discussed with members of the Testimony 360 team and/or USC Shoah Foundation.
· Organise and deliver Alpha and Beta testing stages, working directly with students both online and in-person to deliver test sessions and action necessary follow up (to ensure learning from test sessions is fed back).
Delivery
· Contribute to delivery of Testimony 360 through regular, in-person school delivery as part of the wider team, ensuring that the programme is delivered through a robust pedagogical approach. Expected to deliver Testimony 360 one every two weeks throughout term time.
· Plan and deliver Beta testing sessions as part of the development of the interactive testimonies, sharing knowledge and expertise with other Education Officers supporting in this delivery.
· The successful applicant may also be expected to deliver educational sessions to students, teachers and our young Ambassadors outside the Testimony 360 programme and throughout the year. In-person sessions will take place in the UK and sometimes abroad.
General
· We expect all members of the Education team to share their learnings and expertise both internally and externally. The independent Child Safeguarding Practice Review Panel is looking for a part-time chair.

Purpose of the role
Are you passionate about providing grants to ground-breaking environmental charities around the world? This role offers the chance to develop and manage a portfolio of grants dedicated to this subject area. The broad themes of the programme are: the regulation and reduction of harmful chemicals and pollution; Protecting human health and biodiversity in environmental planning (including though promoting good environmental governance) and regulating harmful impacts of business and development projects. The Environment programme has a budget of approximately £7m in 2024.
Relationships and reporting lines
The Programme Officer will report to the Environment Programme Manager and will work closely with members of the Environment programme team, as well as the Executive and Deputy Executive Directors on matters of strategy. Additional key relationships include interaction with the Trustees, as well as collaboration with the Trust’s other programme officers and operations staff.

Main duties and responsibilities
The post holder will be expected to manage all stages of the grant making process, from invitation to application, award and reporting.
Programme Officer Duties:
- Making a contribution to the vision for and strategic direction of the Trust’s environmental grant-making portfolio;
- Identifying potential grant applicants by researching organisations in fields of interest to the Trust, networking and attending relevant events;
- Reviewing submitted applications, interviewing potential grantees, undertaking due diligence and preparing analytical reports and recommendations for Trustees;
- Reviewing reports submitted by grantees, evaluating and reporting on the impact of grants and signing off on grant payments;
- Managing the grant making pipeline to ensure efficiency of processes and an appropriate balance of recommendations across the Trust’s grant making meetings;
- Maintaining relationships and regular communication with grantees, including site visits and attendance at grantee events;
- Keeping informed of relevant developments including civil society activity, the regulatory environment and academic literature;
- Developing relationships with other donors and stakeholders in the field; and
- Representing the Trust externally at national and international conferences.
Other Duties:
- Carrying out similar duties for other programme areas as needed;
- Conducting research into particular thematic or funding related issues relevant for the Trust as needed;
- Such other duties as the Trust may reasonably require.

Senior Media Officer
Contract:12 Months Fixed Term Contract, Full-time, 35 hours per week
Salary: £39,358 - £41,325 per annum with excellent benefits

About the Team:
To support an exciting and busy time in the WaterAid UK communications team, we are seeking an experienced Senior Press Officer to join our team on a 12 month contract. This role will involve close collaboration with our UK teams, country and regional offices, as well as managing relationships with external partners and stakeholders.
This is a full-time, Monday to Friday role. You will be expected to take part in our out of hours press office rota approx. every 8 weeks, and international may be required from time to time.
About the Role:
You will ideally have newsroom or busy press office or agency experience, work well under pressure, and be full of creative media ideas. As a news driven, creative and ambitious Senior Media Officer, you will lead on a wide range of media activities including timely statements, ground-breaking research reports, fundraising appeals and events, and key policy and advocacy moments.
You will also work on projects with celebrity ambassadors, corporate partners and staff from across WaterAid's global federation - all in support of WaterAid's mission to change normal for millions of people living without water, decent toilets and good hygiene so they can unlock their potential, break free from poverty and change their lives for good.
You will drive, develop and implement proactive and reactive media strategies, use your warm media contacts and build new contacts to achieve organisational communications objectives, including increasing awareness of the global water and sanitation crisis as well as our work around the world and our policy, fundraising and campaigning activities.
Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Write audience centric media strategies for advocacy research and reports and campaigns, with political and public stakeholders in mind.
- Build and ensure effective media relations by establishing and nurturing relationships with key journalists and media outlets, maintaining media lists using relevant media databases.
- Ensure a responsive, agile news desk and respond to enquiries on the key issues we work on.
- Draft and distribute first class media materials, including press releases, media messages, statements, op-eds and thought leadership pieces, and lines against enquiry.
- Integrate media activity across communications and the wider communications and fundraising directorate to ensure media work is impactful and supports wider strategic objectives.
- Advise WaterAid staff up to the Chief Executive using your media expertise.
- Build on and maintain excellent relationships with teams across the organisation and in countries where we work.
- Help drive WaterAid's online media work and engage with bloggers, online journalists and social media influencers.
- Evaluate and report back on key campaigns to the team and rest of the organisation
- Brief journalists on and off the record, arrange radio and TV interviews where necessary and brief staff in preparation.
- Join the 24/7 on-call rota
About You:
- Proven experience in media relations, working in a busy press office, agency or as a journalist.
- Experience of working in a large, matrix organisation
- Experience of liaising with journalists of all levels
- Strong understanding of the UK and global media landscape, with an excellent nose for a story and established relationships with key journalists and media outlets for major UK and global titles.
- Proven experience in launching policy and research reports and data-driven stories to the media
- Proven experience on working on public engagement and supporter focused media
- Excellent command of written English and editing skills, with the ability to craft compelling media materials and media messages at the highest quality
- Experience in developing and executing media strategies and securing impactful coverage.
- To have initiative, deadline driven, strong project management skills, able to work autonomously while contributing to a high performing team
- Willing to travel within and outside of the UK infrequently on travel to further media objectives.
- Creativity and tenacity.
- Ability to handle multiple projects and a variety of work simultaneously
Although not essential, we also prefer you to have:
- Experience running events with media audiences or attendance, including organising press events/press conferences.
- Experience of working on international issues including development, rights or humanitarian.
- Good understanding of social media
- Experience of working with corporate partners
