About the Role

Located in Sidmouth, this is a busy shop in a brilliant location, with a vibrant community!  As Shop Manager, you'll be leading the volunteer team, as well as focusing on further recruitment to grow our volunteer team and building strong connections within the local community to ensure the shop's continued success.

About You

You will be someone with exceptional people skills, a leader who understands the importance of community and enjoys supporting people to exercise similar passions through volunteering.

You'll bring:

• Proven experience leading and motivating teams, ideally having managed volunteers, or a retail team previously 

• A strong understanding of what good looks like in a busy and successful community-led shop, ideally with some experience within Retail or a clear passion for sustainable fashion and knowledge of products and trends

• A can-do attitude and ability to approach challenges in a positive way, knowing when to reach out for support and guidance where you need it.

Previous charity retail experience is ideal, but not essential. If you have transferable leadership skills or experience managing volunteers in other settings and are looking for a new challenge, we'd love to hear from you!

Ways of Working: On-site – this role will be based in the Sidmouth shop in Devon. The shop is currently open 6 days per week (Monday to Saturday), and we're looking for someone able to work 5 days (35 hours) per week to include some weekend working.

In the Community Manager role, you will focus on building offerings and opportunities that support our UK Fellows to accelerate and sustain their impact. Your day-to-day work will range from listening and talking with Fellows to delivery of events and initiatives. The role is full of autonomy and creativity, and we are looking for a self-starter who has experience building communities and delivering impactful communications. 

You will report to the UK Programme Director and work closely with the UK Programme Manager and Acumen Academy's global community & marketing teams.

Your key responsibilities will be:

• Build & manage relationships with UK Fellows to understand their needs and inform our support strategy

• Design & deliver engagement and communications initiatives e.g. Fellows newsletters, regular and tailored touch-points

• Understand & facilitate value-add connections and opportunities e.g. connections to mentors, experts, funders 

• Design & deliver community initiatives that extend connection, knowledge and skills e.g. running in-person events, online workshops

• Design & deliver engaging communication campaigns that amplify and elevate the impact of Fellows e.g. writing case studies, blog posts, social media, public newsletters

• Track & evaluate the engagement and effectiveness of support initiatives e.g. feedback loops, data collection, impact reporting

• Build & manage partnerships with external partners e.g. event partners, media outlets

• Work in partnership with Acumen Academy’s global community and marketing teams to extend global opportunities, share learning and create consistent messaging

Qualifications and skills:

• You have a strong track record of delivering community initiatives that engage and bring value to an audience e.g. in-person events, online workshops, mentorship programmes

• You are a strong written communicator who takes pride in creating content that tells an impactful story - and can point to a portfolio of newsletters, blog posts, and case studies

• You are always using data to learn and refine, and people often tell you that you have a strong eye for detail

• You are a highly organised self-starter who turns ideas into action with an ability to manage competing priorities across a range of different tasks

• You have a strong track record of building relationships with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders - such as charity and social enterprise CEOs, global colleagues, corporate partners

• You have experience designing and executing public events online and in-person

Working within our Kent Domestic Abuse services, Tenancy Support Workers will provide resettlement support to customers who are moving on from refuge and domestic abuse tenancy support to community clients who have accessed the Sanctuary Scheme in West Kent.

* Building supportive, trusting relationships with customers who are currently in refuge to make the transition to permanent accommodation smoother.

About the role

Alongside the Service Manager, you are responsible and accountable for monitoring, maintaining and providing the highest standards of clinical and personal support and service delivery, while promoting independence and choice to the people supported in the service. You will support the Service Manager to manage and ensure the delivery of the service’s key quality and safety priorities by holding delegated responsibility in key areas of the day-to-day running of the supported living activity/service. You will also have delegated responsibility for the direct supervision and line management of a team of Support Workers. As a senior member of the team, you will promote and lead good practice at all times, doing all you can to make sure that the people we support and their colleagues come to no harm and that the people we support are satisfied with the level of support they receive by acting as an
exemplary role model.

As a Deputy Service Manager, flexibility is important for both you and for the service. You will be required to do on-call shifts during out of office hours. You will be expected to work 20% of your total weekly hours on shift across your assigned services and will be able to role model all aspects of a support worker role duties and responsibilities. Following your time on shift, and in general practice at all other times, you will have responsibility for reporting back to the Service Manager and for maintaining a continual dialogue loop of feedback that focuses on quality, and continuous improvement and learning and ensuring the smooth operation of the allocated group of services.

A full UK driving licence, with access to your own vehicle, is essential for the role.

The role of an IDVA is to address the safety of victims and survivors at high risk of harm. IDVAs work with their customers from the point of crisis by safety planning and risk assessing using the DASH to ascertain the level of risk to the victim. About the role

You will:

-Provide direct advocacy support to children and young people children and young people experiencing, or at risk, of homelessness. You will hold a caseload, and be committed to championing the rights of these young people, working with a broad range of other stakeholders and agencies to do so.

-Support with developing the quality of services and projects delivered by Coram Voice to children and young people. This includes under Coram Voice’s Homelessness Outreach Project.

-You will support in the promotion of good practice across both Coram Voice and external organisations, building equitable and inclusive practice across the sector for homeless children and young people.

Our advocates will have relevant experience with children and young people, and may hold a suitable Advocacy Qualification. For the right candidate, we may also be able to offer this post as a Trainee position, and offer support to gain qualifications. The salary offered will reflect the candidate’s experience and skills.

What will you be doing?

About You

What We Offer

In Wales, we know that too many people at the end of life don't have their needs met. Whether it's being supported to manage their symptoms in the community through timely access to palliative care, affording to warm their homes, accessing benefits advice, or responsive bereavement support for their loved ones. With finely tuned political skills, you'll know the challenges of shifting the health policy landscape in Wales and you'll be ready to find new ways to shape change.

As part of the role, you'll be the lead for policy development in Wales, bringing together evidence, ideas and lived experience to give policymakers a clear understanding of the issues facing people with a terminal illness. You will be encouraged to spot opportunities to talk about end of life care in Wales with policymakers, the media and general public.

If you want to make a difference, then you'll be part of a supportive team who will encourage you to take the initiative, make the case for change and feel ownership over your important work.
