From funding state-of-the-art equipment and ground-breaking research, to creating the very best patient environments, we will never stop looking for ways to improve the lives of people affected by cancer.
We are a very ambitious organisation which has gone through transformational growth over the past five years. Alongside funding an existing programme of world-leading research, treatment and care, the Charity completed its largest capital appeal to date, successfully raising £70 million to build the Oak Cancer Centre at the hospital’s Sutton site, which opened in summer 2023.
We have exceeded our fundraising targets, over the past three years, raising over £90m against a target of £83m and making over £82m in funding available to The Royal Marsden. However, with one in two of us expected to develop some form of cancer, it is essential that we go even further in our fundraising efforts to support the essential work of The Royal Marsden. Therefore, we have recently launched our most ambitious strategy yet, that will see us raising at least £215m over the 5-year period.
The Charity is committed to raising £150 million, through a major fundraising appeal, for a new major development project in Chelsea, which will launch in 2025/26. There is also an extensive portfolio of engaging projects outside of the capital appeals, that help to support all aspects of the hospital’s work to improve the lives of cancer patients.

Peaches Womb Cancer Trust was founded in 2020 by a team of enthusiastic and dedicated researchers, doctors and nurses working alongside Professor Emma Crosbie. Since then, the original founders have been joined by invaluable volunteers and 2 staff members to ensure we can raise awareness, support patients, fund and promote womb cancer research.
Womb cancer, also known as endometrial and uterine cancer, is the most common gynaecological cancer in the UK. Affecting approximately 9,700 people annually, most are diagnosed over 50 years of age and have gone through the menopause, but womb cancer can affect younger women too. When diagnosed at an early stage, womb cancer is often treatable: when diagnosed at early stages, 1 and 2, the survival rate is 92%. However, when the disease is diagnosed at later stages, 3 and 4, the survival rate reduces to 15%. Currently 1 in 5 women, or people with a womb, are diagnosed at advanced stages. Latest figures show that the equivalent of 27 people every day are receiving a new womb cancer diagnosis and 7 people are dying from this disease every day in the UK. Peaches want to change that and save lives. We can't think of a better way to spend your time and deploy your skills.
We are looking for a knowledgeable, diligent and skilled CNS to help develop and provide support services.
Role overview
Over the next 12 months, we have exciting plans to enhance the support services offered by Peaches to ensure we can meet the diverse needs of those affected by womb cancer. We envisage support services delivered will build upon our current monthly virtual peer support coffee mornings to include more bespoke and frequent meetings as well as an online peer support group, online peer events and some in-person events. Remote working contract for 12 hours per week on a 12 month contract. We may request that you attend in person strategy meetings in Manchester on a quarterly basis and some in person support events
Key responsibilities
Development of support services including an online peer support group, online peer support events, webinar series and in person events.
Manage support queries, set up of online events and peer support group including set up and moderation with assistance from charity staff...
Assisting in the development of content related to support services to include in monthly newsletter and social media.
Support the development of medical information pages on website and in print literature.
Help to facilitate the expansion of our network of CNS and healthcare professionals with an interest in womb cancer. Develop relationships to ensure appropriate signposting to charity and national awareness of support services offered through attendance at relevant conferences and events.
Ensure safeguarding of those requesting support and participating in peer support services.
We are looking for someone with the following:
Band 7 qualified Cancer Nurse Specialist with experience of caring for those affected by womb cancer
NMC registered
Previous experience of caring for others in a sensitive manner
Up to date knowledge of womb cancer
Previous experience of facilitating one to one support
Previous experience of facilitating group sessions is desirable but not required

What you’ll be doing
- Building relationships with mid-level Trusts and Foundations, with a focus on securing four and five figure donations
- Writing compelling, clear and high-quality funding applications and cases for support for Trust and Foundation audiences
- Managing and developing a range of annual mailings to Trusts and Foundations
- Working with colleagues in the Charity and clinical team members across The Royal Marsden to gather the information necessary to produce proposals and updates for Trust and Foundation supporters

This role sits within the account management team, which raises over £1.5 million annually through a range of long-term partnerships across multiple sectors – our partners include ghd, M&S, Primark and more. The senior partnership manager is a key role within our account management team, responsible for delivering our most high value and strategic partnerships and generating over £1 million annually for Breast Cancer Now from this portfolio.
Reporting to the head of corporate partnerships (account management), you’ll manage this exciting and varied portfolio of sector leading partnerships, focusing particularly on income growth and delivering shared-purpose opportunities that strengthen and celebrate the relationships we have with these organisations.
As the main contact for these major partners, you’ll guide them through every stage of their relationship with Breast Cancer Now, always striving to achieve and exceed mutual goals.
You’ll also oversee the senior corporate partnerships officer, providing direction and senior level support as they manage their own portfolio of smaller partnerships.
Collaboration is essential in this role, working closely with the broader partnerships and engagement team, including new business and dedicated project teams (Asda partnership team and the senior stakeholder & stewardship lead).

We are looking for a creative, hardworking and results driven Special Events Manager, who has experience of planning, developing and implementing a varied portfolio of high-quality donor-focused events and who is passionate about the impact our events can have in supporting the leukaemia community. In this exciting role, you will lead on the development and delivery of our flagship fundraising event, Who’s Cooking Dinner? working with the UK’s top chefs and restaurants. You will also play a key role in new and returning events such as a celebrity golf tournament ‘The Mini Masters,’ and our annual cultivation event.
This is a great role for someone looking to lead an area of significant growth for the charity, delivering exciting and unique events which raise funds and support our wider ambitions across philanthropy and the wider charity. You will also have line management responsibility for our newly created Special Events Officer role.

In this busy role, you’ll assist in the delivery of legacy marketing campaigns across a range of channels, including digital, telemarketing, legacy events and direct mail, and help to promote gifts in wills to internal audiences too. You’ll be allocated your own campaigns to project manage and you’ll monitor income, expenditure and KPI’s for all activity. An important part of the role will be to provide support for the administration of gifts in wills, including managing both legacy enquiries and legacy notifications, ensuring these are handled efficiently and to agreed timescales. This is a great role within a growing legacy program that will build your legacy and direct marketing skills and give you plenty of opportunity for development.
With combined individual giving income growing strongly at over £21 million per annum, this is the perfect time to join an experienced and effective individual giving team.
About you
You’ll have some experience of working in a similar environment such as fundraising, marketing, sales or customer services, or have experience of managing your own projects.
You enjoy the variety of working on campaigns across a range of channels and seeing the results of your work. As a well-organised person with great communication skills, you’ll be at ease liaising with external suppliers and in-house stakeholders across the charity to support the delivery of legacy marketing campaigns. Your close attention to detail will ensure accuracy with campaign reports, record keeping and invoice processing. And you’ll be able to use your excellent writing skills to craft copy that inspires both internal and external audiences about gifts in wills.

Face to face fundraising is driving huge growth at Breast Cancer Now. This is a pivotal role that will really bind our activities and teams together, and support our ambitious targets. This role will support activity growth by implementing a consistent and standardised way of working across both our lottery and direct debit campaigns. This role will play a key part in monitoring performance, creating and implementing a face to face fundraising guide, and ensuring our teams are working to the highest standards.
About you
You’ll have experience of working with, and actively managing, face to face fundraising agencies. You’ll enjoy working as part of a busy and high performing team which works to demanding targets. As well as being a well-organised person with excellent communication skills, you’ll be at ease liaising with key external suppliers and internal teams to support the delivery of campaigns. You’ll also be confident in monitoring activity and progress to help ensure teams are able to deliver against agreements and targets.

Job description
Focusing on building new relationships and developing high-level, multi-year partnerships, the role holder will be responsible for fundraising, managing income streams focusing on Trusts and Foundations, regular donations, bucket collections, one off donations and funds generated from third party engagement. Role overview
- As a member of The Nightingale’s Leadership Team reporting into the CEO, the Fundraising Manager will play a pivotal role in shaping and delivering the strategic direction of the charity.
- This includes working closely with the CEO and the other members of the leadership team to oversee the effective management of the Fundraising function.
- Ensuring that all Fundraising activities reflect the Nightingale’s strategic objectives and uphold its values and reputation.
- Developing and leading on the Fundraising strategy and action plans, with a particular focus on major donor fundraising, ensuring integration, and fostering collaboration across departments.
- Ensure the CEO, the Leadership Team and Board of Trustees are kept informed of the team's strategy, progress and major achievements.
- Manage team of 2 fundraiser roles plus 1 volunteer (actively recruiting).
- Management of budget. Prepare and manage budgets for all areas of responsibility, with a focus on ensuring cost-effectiveness and delivering income growth in High Value Fundraising.
Responsibilities
- With an emphasis on High Value Fundraising, develop and implement a multi-channel fundraising strategy to grow and develop The Nightingale’s income stream including major donors, trusts and foundations, individual giving, events and corporate fundraising.
- Provide leadership and supervision to the fundraising team, setting income targets and delivering strategic support.
- Build sustainable, long-term relationships that align with The Nightingale’s fundraising priorities and the creation of clearly defined, measurable targets and KPIs.
- Develop fundraising tools and materials, creating bespoke, high-quality materials that resonate with major donors and support broader fundraising activities such as printed materials, e-marketing, and web-based materials.
- Ensure compliance with fundraising best practices, including data protection legislation and the Charity Commission’s guidelines.
- Lead the development of strategies and tactics to increase the lifetime value of existing donors, ambassadors and patrons, creating and engaging mid/high value philanthropy programme including supporting the delivery of a strategy for working with high profile individuals and influencers.
- Manage high-level relationships with major donors, ensuring their contributions are recognised and cultivated for future support.
- Identify new donors, influencers and ambassadors, working with the Board of Trustees and existing Major Donors to map and engage new networks to generate revenue.
- Research, develop and produce a range of bids to charitable trusts and foundations, and other appropriate organisations.
- Taking the lead to develop relationships with existing and new prospects with a view to growing the charity’s income.
- Understanding the motivations that encourage companies to give and to be confident in researching and identifying companies
- Managing all income streams, regular donations, bucket collections, one off donations and funds generated from third party engagement.
- Working alongside the Head of Marketing and Comms to create fundraising products and tools to help support our partners.
- Assisting with all levels of corporate administration, thank you letters, certificates, project reports, updating information via the database, website and social media etc.
Essential requirements include:
- Proven track record of delivering income targets of £100k and upwards.
- Proven track record of identifying, compiling and managing relationships with Trusts and Foundations as well as corporate partners.
- Ability to communicate both verbally and written with a range of audiences.
- Ability to develop high quality, coherent and thorough fundraising proposals and pitches.
- Good attention to detail.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Competence in the use of IT tools including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Able to work independently, applying own initiative.
- Able to be flexible and adaptable (attending networking events and meetings as necessary).
- A full clean driving licence and use of vehicle.

At Breast Cancer Now, we’re seeking a Senior Press & PR Officer to join our ambitious press, PR & celebrity team for 12 months. The role is focused primarily on the charity’s Fundraising portfolio, including our corporate partnerships and high-value fundraising events, all of which raise vital funds that help the charity to deliver world-class research and provide life-changing support for anyone affected by breast cancer.
About you
As an excellent communicator, you’ll be great at building trusted and influential relationships across a range of stakeholders including colleagues, journalists, external partners and advocates and ambassadors of Breast Cancer Now. This will help you bring our work to life, working collaboratively and effectively and at pace.
With significant experience in developing and delivering impactful PR campaigns, either in-house or in an agency, you’ll tell powerful stories around our fundraising activity to achieve cut-through in the media and drive further engagement and support (including financial) from our key audiences.
Always putting the patient voice at the heart of our work, you’ll be innovative and creative in your approach to secure maximum profile for annual events and campaigns, building on previous years’ successes and bringing fresh angles to this work to maximise engagement with the media and key audiences.
With strong written skills and an instinct for what makes a good news story, you’ll thrive in a fast-paced press office, and always consider how content can be integrated and delivered across communications channels for greatest impact.
