Job Title:Community Fundraising Manager

The Role
We are recruiting for a Community Fundraising Manager to join our Fundraising team. The role will be instrumental in the Foundation’s engagement with different communities and building fundraising partnerships across a range of community audiences, including youth and education, sports clubs, community groups and individuals doing their own activities. You will be responsible for growing our existing community products such as Turn Cricket Red as well as introducing new products and initiatives to generate growth in Community Fundraising. Part of a small team, you will develop key relationships within the RSF network of supporters, suppliers and delivery partners and manage a portfolio of events and activities for a range of supporter groups.

Role Profile:
Reporting to the Head of Partnerships, your role will focus on:
- Managing and growing the Ruth Strauss Foundation Turn Cricket Red Campaign, working with schools, sports clubs and Universities
- Creation of new RSF owned community fundraising events/activities/products
- Managing RSF third party events-London Marathon, Westminster Mile, professional athlete testimonials, galas and dinners
- Work closely with the Ruth Strauss Foundation School Programme Lead to maximise schools community fundraising
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver the Foundations community fundraising strategy and community fundraising activities and campaigns
- Develop and implement a varied portfolio of events and community fundraising activities to meet agreed objectives, all of which reflect the spirit of the Ruth Strauss Foundation
- Ensure, with the wider Fundraising team, we meaningfully engage different communities with RSF
- Ensure relevant processes and policies are in place to deliver a successful, profitable community fundraising programme
- Oversee the management of fundraising systems, processes, and platforms in order to create the best possible experience for donors and participants
- Develop a robust supporter journey for community fundraisers which leaves them with an excellent supporter experience and generates a lifelong relationship with RSF
To achieve these objectives the post holder will be expected to:
- Plan, budget, attend and coordinate an annual community fundraising and events calendar with set objectives, budgets and KPIs for each activity
- Regularly review the performance of fundraising activities/events and products, make recommendations for improvement, and support decision-making regarding fit of new opportunities for the foundation
- Project Manage the delivery of the community fundraising programme at RSF, leading on activity working group meetings, coordinating with key stakeholders to ensure campaigns, activities and events are managed efficiently
- Work closely with the schools lead and school manager to grow our schools fundraising programme – working collaboratively so the training programme objectives are also met
- Develop a long-term growth strategy for Turn Cricket Red – focused on maximising current opportunities as well as diversifying to increase our reach
- Deliver high value supporter stewardship to increase lifetime value and impact of their fundraising
- Build and maintain a variety of community relationships across varying stakeholders and seniority, ensuring opportunities for growth are maximised
- Alongside the team, co-ordinate event/activity logistics including but not limited to sales, bookings and liaison with supporters and suppliers, material production, promotion, set up, and delivery
- Oversee relationship with key providers of event fundraising mechanisms such as online donation platforms, auction platforms and text to donate services
- Work with colleagues to ensure all events are adequately supported with staff, volunteers and hosts, and that all stakeholders receive appropriate training/ briefing and post event debriefs
- Work with the Head of MarComms and Digital to produce engaging fundraising collateral and information for event and community supporters including pre and post event communications/marketing collateral, working with external production companies where required
- Ensure all events and activities are compliant with fundraising code of conduct, GDPR and other event processes/policies
- Oversee the use of the CRM system to ensure data is recorded in compliance to Data Protection and GDPR and maximises output for supporter journeys
- Use sector trends and audience analysis to direct strategy and ensure that RSF remains innovative and at the forefront of Community fundraising
This Job Description reflects the duties of the post as they exist at this time and may be subject to changes based on the needs of the Fundraising Department. What we are looking for:
- Experience of designing and delivering successful Community fundraising events and activities
- Excellent organisational and administrative skills including budget and project management
- Ability to build excellent relationships especially with supporters, partners, ambassadors and suppliers
- Strong team player and project leadership, ensuring clear and regular communication with the RSF team and stakeholders as appropriate
- Ability to keep calm under pressure and maintain a clear head, anticipating risks and problems
- A willingness to adapt and be flexible. There are often new projects, changing priorities, and new processes that you will need to embrace
- Ability to undertake travel, including overnight stays where necessary
- Competent user of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and experience of CRM systems

About the Ruth Strauss Foundation
In early 2018, Ruth Strauss, the wife of Sir Andrew Strauss the former England cricket captain, was diagnosed with an incurable lung cancer that affects non-smokers. Ruth died on December 29th 2018; she was 46 years old and mother to two children, then aged 10 and 13.

The Role
Reporting to the Research Grants Manager, as Research Administration Assistant, you will provide administration support for the Research, Services and Policy Team to ensure that Yorkshire Cancer Research supports high quality research and services that directly impacts the people of Yorkshire. This includes supporting the Award funding rounds, managing ongoing Awards, co-ordinating workshops to support wider initiatives and maintaining accurate records.
Specifically, you will:
· Work with the wider Research Funding Team to provide administration support for all phases of the research funding process to ensure we fund high quality and impactful research.
· Provide support during the application, review, outcome and award processes.
· Support preparations for funding meetings, including booking rooms, sending invites, preparing papers and maintaining documents and logs.
· Foster good relationships with applicants, keeping them informed of further requests for information and changes as they occur.
· Act as the first point of contact for potential and current Research Advisory Panel (RAP) members.
· Provide administrative support on recruitment, selection, induction, support and training, involvement in the funding rounds, and renewal and retirement from the panel.
· Provide administrative support for a portfolio of research Awards, and where required, service Awards.
· Work across the Research and Services team to deliver successful meetings and workshops with external partners to support research funding initiatives and Patient and Public involvement (PPI).
About You
To be considered for this role, you will need:
· To be educated to A-level or equivalent, or have experience of working in a similar position at a similar level.
· To have a high level of attention to detail, particularly in respect to maintenance of records.
· To have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
· To be able to engage with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Manager to join us in the insights function of our Health Systems Engagement (HSE) team to lead work on health systems topics including a focus on primary care. We need your expertise in using a variety of techniques to generate and communicate insight about how health systems operate to deliver cancer prevention, diagnosis and treatment. This will include maintaining up-to-date knowledge of issues relevant to primary care across the four UK nations such as workforce, finance, and policy changes drawing on direct engagement with health systems as well as familiarity with the published evidence base on key health systems topics. Whilst your focus will primarily be on health systems in England, you will also maintain a working knowledge of specified topics in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland, as well as helping CRUK keep abreast of the evidence about 'what works' in health systems more generally.
Further to this, you'll be the relationship manager for a number of key health systems stakeholders within a designated region where you will be an external representative of CRUK.

This role might particularly suit those with a background in health policy analysis or development, health systems research, or those who have knowledge of relevant topics drawn from experience working with or in health systems. Experience of primary care policy or working in primary care is desirable but not essential for the role.
What will I be doing?
Using a variety of techniques to maintain accurate and up-to-date insight into health systems topics, including reviewing published evidence and grey literature
Engaging with stakeholders at all levels of the health system in order to disseminate insight effectively, such as supporting communities of practice, speaking at events, or producing written outputs
Building and maintaining productive internal relationships to optimise approaches and to employ a proportionate level of methodological rigour
Working in close collaboration with other CRUK colleagues in the relevant nation(s) to ensure appropriate sharing of insight and co-ordinated engagement with external and internal stakeholders
Ensuring that insights generated are shared within CRUK in such a way as to inform CRUK's priority setting, engagement activities and policy development through chairing our Primary Care Knowledge Group
Working with the Head of Health Systems Engagement to ensure a well-developed contribution to the departmental-wide strategy and operating model
Contributing to scoping activities to support the identification of priorities within the HSE strategy and development of new health systems products and programmes
Maintaining an excellent level of knowledge about health systems policy and its application in practice, building on active relationships and engagement with clinicians and system leaders at all levels of the health system.
What skills are you looking for?
Substantial experience working with published evidence and grey literature and using primary knowledge generation methodologies to develop insight
Deep knowledge of one or more of the health systems in the UK, including an understanding of key stakeholder groups and of how cancer services/pathways are planned, funded and delivered in practice
Specific knowledge of primary care policy and practice would be desirable
Ability to rapidly appraise, assimilate and distil key messages from information from a range of sources
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex information clearly and appropriately for the audience
Demonstrates excellent interpersonal and relationship management skills, with the ability to quickly build strong networks and partnerships with internal and external stakeholders
Project development and delivery skills
Strong planning and organisational skills and ability to work well under pressure and manage multiple priorities, many with fixed deadlines.

You will also provide excellent customer service, ensuring volunteers, donors and customers know how their contribution is helping the people of Yorkshire.
Specifically, you will:
- Play an active part in running our shop in Ilkley, supporting the Shop Manager in implementing processes and ways of working.
- Provide cover for days off, holidays and sickness as required, with possible occasional travel to other shops to provide support if needed by the charity.
- Support the Shop Manager to maximise the income and profit of the shop through active stock management, replenishment, and rotation.
- Manage a team of well-trained volunteers in the absence of the Shop Manager and take every effort to create a positive retail environment.
- Support the Shop Manager to ensure accurate accounting and handling of assets (items donated and money received).
- Support the Shop Manager to ensure accurate record keeping of items donated and the amount paid for each item for Gift Aid tax reclaim purposes.

Addenbrooke’s Charitable Trust (ACT) is the dedicated NHS hospital charity for Cambridge University Hospitals, also fondly known locally as Addenbrooke’s. The Charity works to fund projects and facilities that are beyond the boundaries of the NHS to achieve the highest possible standards and outcomes in patient experience, clinical care, research and education - helping to find potential cures and save lives locally, nationally and worldwide.
Addenbrooke’s has embarked on a bold journey of transformation. As part of this, two brand-new hospitals will be built: the Cambridge Cancer Research Hospital and the Cambridge Children’s Hospital. These two specialist hospitals are being designed with patients at their heart and will combine first-class clinical expertise with world-class biomedical research to transform care for cancer patients and children regionally, nationally and internationally.
To make this vision a reality, ACT has embarked upon two ambitious multi-year, multi-million pound philanthropic campaigns to support the development of these two new hospitals. It is rare to have one project with an ambition of this kind, and so for two to be built at the same time, no stone must be left unturned and the Charity are looking for two ambitious new fundraisers who shares a passion for their cause, one with a focus on individual philanthropists and the other with a focus on strategic partnerships.
The role of Senior Philanthropy Lead is a critical one for the Charity, driving income from individuals with the capacity to give at the six and seven figure level. Reporting to the Co-Director of Philanthropy and managing two Philanthropy Leads, the postholder will take over a multi-million pound pipeline, whilst also driving new business. This role is fixed-term for two years.
The role of Senior Trusts & Strategic Partnerships Lead is a brand-new, permanent position and an essential one in helping to seek and grow significant philanthropic partnerships for the Charity. Reporting to the Co-Director of Philanthropy and managing a Trusts Lead, the postholder will refine and implement the fundraising strategy and develop a priority prospect list of trusts and grants.

About the role
The purpose of the post is to work with the Fundraising Development Lead to ensure that the Philanthropy and Partnerships team have all the resources they need to generate new funding opportunities and deliver exceptional relationship management with charitable trusts and foundations, major donors, companies and grant-making institutions.
The post-holder will be responsible for developing fundraising communications and resources for existing and prospective supporters across the Philanthropy and Partnerships portfolio. They will also be responsible for ensuring the team's stewardship programme is maintained and implemented, which includes creating inspiring engagement opportunities for existing and prospective funders.

Bowel Research UK is looking for an interim Research and Grants Manager to coordinate and evaluate the management of the charity’s research activities. This role covers all aspects of pre- and post-award research management, impact reporting, grant finance management and governance, co-ordination of the Charity’s scientific committees and shaping external scientific communications to supporters and other stakeholders. Additionally, you will foster and maintain strong relationships with researchers, serving as the primary point of contact for engaging with the research community.
The charity has approximately 50 active research grants to the value of in the region of £1.5 million. The Interim Research & Grants Manager will be responsible for managing these.

This is an opportunity to work with the UK’s leading specialist bowel cancer and bowel disease research charity. Bowel Research UK believe that a cure for bowel cancer and effective treatments to mitigate, or entirely eradicate, other bowel diseases is possible – but only if vital research is funded and investment made into the scientific and medical communities today, to see the benefits tomorrow.
Bowel Research UK are a flexible employer, for this post they are looking for someone to be comfortable with joining the team in the London office once a month. If the post holder would prefer to work more regularly from an office base the charity has office space at Royal College of Surgeons in central London. Most team members work from here on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
The 21-hour week can be worked in the way that best suits the post holder, e.g. 3 full days or spread over 5 days.
