The role
As a Senior Development Officer, you’ll be an integral part of the team and will secure funding from a range of external funding sources including Charitable Trusts/Foundations and major donors. Partnering with significant donors and funders, you will work with ambitious colleagues to create compelling proposals to develop funding bids and proposals and to cultivate long-term donor relationships. Reporting to the Head of Development you will work alongside an established team.
The candidate
If you’re interested in joining us as a Senior Development Officer, you’ll need:
• Degree or relevant fundraising qualifications and considerable experience of working in a fundraising/development office.
• Track record in raising five and six figure levels of philanthropic funding from Trusts and Foundations, major donors, statutory sources, and other external funders.
• Experience of securing funding for capital appeals and projects.
• Experience of preparing successful and compelling fundraising applications, proposals, and donor reports.
• Experience of managing relationships with funders and of developing effective stewardship and cultivation programmes.

ABOUT THE ROLE:
As our Individual Giving Manager you will organise and oversee all our individual giving activities. You will develop income and engagement from individuals working across a range of income streams including but not limited to Regular Giving, Philanthropy, Legacy, Appeals and Lottery.
You will also oversee strategy with a view to gaining ongoing growth, through developing engaging fundraising campaigns and delivering high quality, timely and personalised stewardship to recruit new and retain existing supporters.
You’ll be an experienced fundraiser with a proven track record of using a variety of direct marketing techniques to grow Individual Giving. You will work closely with our MarComms team to create content across various channels ensuring relevant and engaging communications are sent to supporters across email, BHWT newsletters, social media, BHWT magazine and video.
KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:
- To develop and deliver strategy across Individual Giving in an effort to maximise income.
- To steward and recruit donors whilst developing and retaining regular and cash givers.
- To manage a calendar of compelling fundraising projects and campaigns including direct marketing appeals across electronic, postal and social media channels.
- To utilise insight and data to set, monitor and evaluate campaigns and revenue performance.
- Management of our BHWT lottery.
- To build and nurture effective relationships with a number of segments including major donors, regular givers and pledged legators, increasing value and loyalty from new and existing donors.
- To examine supporter data to identify patterns and trends, helping to build and develop insights into BHWT supporters.
- To segment various data audiences for postal appeals using Salesforce.
- To explore and test new methods for donor recruitment and retention.
- To analyse and report on fundraising activities to maximise return on investment and feed key findings to the CEO.
- Collaborate closely with MarComms to build understanding and support across the organisation whilst delivering rewarding, interconnected projects and appeals.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- A strong empathy for animal welfare and the work of the BHWT
- Demonstrable successes in growing income across multiple IG revenues with a wide range of activities, campaigns, and appeals
- Proven experience of researching, evaluating, testing and implementing successful fundraising products or activities
- Experience of utilising performance metrics and KPIs for donor acquisition, cost-benefit, and return-on-investment analyses
- Proven experience of campaign management and delivery
- Track record of developing and optimising supporter-focused content and products that increase reach and engagement across a wide range of channels
- Experience of using a fundraising database and segmenting relevant fundraising data
- Ability to drive success and inspire others to ensure relevant targets and standards are met

What will I be doing?
Supporting the planning and implementation of national media and PR strategies that advance the charity's mission, ensuring all communications activity is aligned with organisational goals and priorities
Planning and delivering national corporate and consumer PR campaigns to support fundraising campaigns, partnerships and events, and key corporate communications activities
Taking ownership of designated media, PR and communications projects, working with senior leaders to deliver impactful campaigns
Cultivating and maintaining relationships with national media to secure coverage that enhances the charity's reputation and impact
Crafting compelling, innovative and bold content, including press releases and pitches, that resonates across traditional and digital media platforms
Leveraging data and audience insights to shape communications activity, ensuring that all campaigns are evidence-based and targeted for maximum impact
Serving as a key point of contact for media enquiries and proactively identifying media opportunities, crafting engaging storylines, and managing media placements to ensure positive coverage
Working collaboratively with other departments to source case studies and leverage celebrity supporters, enhancing the human stories behind the charity's work
Providing support and guidance to the Officer role in the team and contributing to the development of the team by offering strategic input in team meetings and working closely with senior managers to ensure consistency in campaign rollouts.

Purpose of the job/About the role
The Supporter Care team is responsible for providing the highest level of customer care to everyone who interacts with and supports Dementia UK. As the Supporter Care Officer, you will help maintain and drive fundraising growth across various income streams. You will achieve this by ensuring the best possible supporter experience for all our donors and by proactively improving processes and ways of working to support this overarching responsibility.
Reporting to the Supporter Care Manager, the Supporter Care Officer will deliver excellent customer care to supporters and potential supporters of Dementia UK. You will respond to enquiries via post, email, and telephone, and will be responsible for thanking our supporters by adapting and personalising templates to deliver high-quality thank you letters.
You will also work closely with our database to maintain the quality of information available and assist with gift processing. This includes handling sensitive data, such as credit card information, confidently and securely. Additionally, you will support all teams across fundraising and assist the Supporter Care Manager in identifying processes that could be improved, ensuring our database accurately captures our income.
To be successful in this role, you will have proven experience delivering high standards of customer service over the telephone, with the ability to handle enquiries diplomatically and sensitively. You will have strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a small team, building relationships with both colleagues and supporters.

About the role
Christian Aid's Campaign and UK Advocacy division exists to support Christian Aid's mission by making change happen through influencing people in power; engaging, inspiring and equipping people to make their voice heard; and working with allies and champions in the church, Parliament and beyond.
This role exists to influence members of the UK Parliament and other political targets to help advance our policy, advocacy and campaigning on climate and economic justice, and crisis contexts - currently with a particular focus on Gaza and the wider Occupied Palestinian Territory. About you

About the role
We’re looking for a motivated, communicative, and knowledgeable Public Affairs Officer to join our Policy and Influencing Team, to help us achieve the positive change children and young people with cancer across the UK, and their families, need in the health system. This means amplifying the voices of young cancer patients and delivering evidence-based campaigns that make change happen.
The Public Affairs Officer is responsible for supporting the Policy and Influencing Team with public affairs expertise to deliver the key components of our influencing work in England and UK-Wide (Westminster). You will help us influence the system for children and young people with cancer and their families, so we can change experiences of having cancer and ensure children and young people’s voices are heard.

This role is a hybrid role, with frequent in-person presence in London required. As a London-based role requiring frequent travel within London, the advertised salary is reflective of our London pay scale.
