The Assistant will ensure that local groups have the right materials and support to campaign in their area for better streets. They will also help monitor the impact of our local campaigns work.

Our aim is to reach every family that needs our help and to offer them the very best choice of care. Did you know that every year we need to raise £6.5m to keep our doors open and only around 16% of our income comes from government sources, the rest has to be raised through fundraising activity.
Our services include short overnight stays and community breaks at home or in the hospice. We also support the whole family from diagnosis with our multi-disciplinary Family Support team who provide counselling, sibling support groups, music therapy and much more. Our care team support these families in our modern, purpose-built building. All our rooms bedrooms have a homely feel. We have a sensory room, spa pool, cinema room and six acres of gardens.
We support families from a large geographical area, including South Yorkshire, North Nottinghamshire, North Derbyshire and parts of North Lincolnshire. The role:
As our Fundraising Business Partner, you will be at the forefront of our regional fundraising team. You’ll work hand-in-hand with the Income Generation and Communications Director, crafting and implementing innovative, long-term strategies to expand and diversify our income streams. You’ll identify new opportunities, guide a talented team of six fundraising professionals, and build lasting partnerships that strive to reach our income aims.

Key Responsibilities
- The purpose of this role is to lead the charities Lotteries and Raffles team which has the goal of generating and inspiring support from both new and existing supporters. This person will advance existing products and campaigns towards their full potential as well as develop new campaigns and activity that drive growth, retention and engagement. In doing so, they will act as a key support to the Executive Director of Individual Giving and Lotteries in ensuring that the department achieves its income generation goals.
- Develop a clear vision and strategy to deliver sustainable income growth within the prize led fundraising channel.
- Drive and oversee all day-to-day activity around lotteries and raffles, ensuring campaigns are effectively coordinated and that broader teams are enabled to support delivery.
- Proactively find ways to increase the impact of the Lottery and Raffle income streams by developing and testing new approaches to player recruitment, retention and engagement.
- Supported by the Executive Director of Individual Giving and Lotteries ensure compliance of the KSS lottery activities against the charities Gambling Commission license conditions
- Ensure that the operations of the entire income stream, including those delivered by external parties, adhere to guidance and legislation set out by associated regulatory bodies. This includes but is not limited to the Gambling Commission, Charity Commission, Fundraising Regulator and Chartered Institute of Fundraising best practice guidelines.
Head of Lotteries and Raffles
The role of Head of Lotteries and Raffles is part of the management team within the Individual Giving and Lotteries directorate. This directorate plays a crucial role in fostering strong relationships with our supporters and generating sustainable income for KSS. Our Lotteries have a combined income of £9 million per year, and the Head of Lotteries and Raffles will be responsible for ensuring the consistent growth of these lotteries, and to ensure that we provide engaging and safe fundraising avenue for our supporters.

Acting as the main contact with our external payroll manager for the organisation this role plays an integral part in the finance team, ensuring the Sue Ryder payroll is processed accurately and on time within legislative, statutory and company policies and procedures. • Be the main contact for the charity to the external payroll manager

Summary and key purpose
This new role will be primarily responsible for developing, marketing and managing our individual giving together with working across other fundraising disciplines. You will be a key member of our fundraising team, producing compelling fundraising communications, stewarding individual donors, including regular donors and gifts in memory. You will ensure that our donors receive excellent care.
Our Individual Giving programme will incorporate one-off donations, regular giving, digital fundraising, appeals and in-memory giving. You will do this, with the support of our recently appointed fundraising agency, who you will manage our relationship with week by week.
A critical element of the role will be how we market ourselves to potential new donors, taking them on an emotional engagement journey in order to solicit regular gifts.
Your expertise and skills:
To excel in this role, you will need prior experience of working in a fundraising setting, with an understanding of good stewardship practices. You should be a self-starter who thrives in a dynamic environment, working across teams and meeting multiple deadlines. Your excellent relationship management skills will enable you to effectively communicate with a diverse range of stakeholders and gather information on new projects. You must have a thorough understanding of individual giving, developing donor journeys and experience of work with agencies.
Key responsibilities:
- Day-to-day management of the regular giving programme, project managing appeals and overseeing the thanking process for individual donors.
- Create, plan, deliver and evaluate multi-channel, compliant, insight-led, supporter-centric campaigns to engage and drive action from new and existing supporters.

- Develop and execute an effective and sustainable digital fundraising plan and budget in line with the overall BMMUK fundraising strategy, to grow income from new and existing donors and achieve annual targets
- Provide high-quality, tailored stewarding for new and existing supporters, ensuring they feel valued and understand the impact their contribution makes
- Manage Challenge Events stewardship with engaging comms
- Lead on donor insight and research, prospecting, cultivation and conversion activities to develop a pipeline of individual giving at all levels
- Create and lead on 2 x targeted campaigns and bespoke donor journeys (Christmas Appeal and £30 in 30)
- Create compelling written content for digital and print media
- Monitor campaign effectiveness using analytics and produce regular reporting on performance against targets
- Ensure donations are processed quickly and donors are thanked for their contribution
- Keep abreast of the latest fundraising practices, legislation and technology opportunities

The role
As a Senior Development Officer, you’ll be an integral part of the team and will secure funding from a range of external funding sources including Charitable Trusts/Foundations and major donors.
