Whizz Kidz is transforming. It is an exciting time to join us as a Partnerships Development Executive as we embark on an ambitious strategy for the next three years. Sitting within our Corporate Partnerships team this role will support the Head of Partnerships and Partnership Development Manager to develop and delivery of long-term relationships with companies – both large and small – so we increase the number, scale and value of corporate partnerships with the goal of providing more sustainable support for Whizz-Kidz.
To achieve this you will proactively identify, research and quantify opportunities across priority sectors, manage your own prospect pipeline and work with internal teams to create a clear case for support that will help deliver shared purpose and shared value partnerships. You will play your part in helping build the Whizz Kidz brand, grow influence and drive income.
Whizz Kidz: the facts
Over 75,000 young people aren’t getting the wheelchair or support that fully meets their needs. Without the ability to be independent young wheelchair users are restricted in their ability to socialise and participate in society.

As the UK’s leading charity for young wheelchair users (up to 25 years old), we empower young people by providing the wheelchairs, equipment, support and confidence-building experiences they need, and campaigning for a more inclusive society.
And we won’t stop until they are mobile, enabled and included.
The Fundraising and communications team at Whizz Kidz raises around 95% of the income to fund the work of the charity and supports the generation of funds through on and offline publications, develops our social media and website presence and leads on PR activities.
The person
As the Whizz Kidz Partnership Development Executive you will be encouraged to get into the heart of the organisation, understand our ambitions and use your passion, knowledge and skills to help identify and deliver new corporate partnerships. You will understand how to identify the right opportunities for Whizz Kidz and know what it takes to win and manage different types of partnerships. You will have solid written and verbal communication skills, be comfortable presenting and willing to develop and learn new skills. You will be keen to play your part in helping the fundraising and marcomms team maintain a positive culture, increase brand awareness and unlock vital income to create positive change for young wheelchair users and their families.
Key accountabilities
• Support the Partnerships team in generating long term sustainable income (unrestricted/restricted) from the corporate sector by developing income first multi-year partnerships
• Create and deliver engaging and targeted new business proposals, pitches and presentations as well as creating compelling and persuasive cases for support to help secure and establish successful new partnerships
• Support team to achieve its financial targets through new and existing partnerships
• Researching and quantifying opportunities alongside identifying and cultivating relationships with new prospects with a view to securing face to face meetings and long-term support
• Ensure frameworks and legal contracts describing and defining funding relationships comply with charity, HMRC law and fundraising best practice.

Experience
• Previous experience and success in a Corporate Partnerships role
• Demonstrable experience of partnership development, securing new business and relationship management skills

• Confident managing a prospect pipeline including employee engagement, strategic and commercial opportunities across different sectors
• Comfortable networking and working with colleagues and stakeholders at all levels
• Previous knowledge of fundraising databases
• Good knowledge of fundraising and changing trends especially in the corporate partnerships’ environment
• A ‘can-do’ attitude, solid decision-making skills and ability to work independently

About the role
From local and national support services to green spaces, sports clubs, museums and the arts, voluntary organisations and volunteers are a vital part of communities across the country. As the membership community for charities and voluntary organisations, NCVO has championed volunteers and the voluntary sector for over a hundred years.
The Senior Practical Support Officer role is key to the delivery of NCVO’s support for small charities. You will be a key part of a small team, with a focus on managing and responding to enquiries that come in via phone and email to our Small Charity Helpdesk. We receive 400 – 500 enquiries a month about setting up and running a charity, with a particular focus on volunteering and governance.
Alongside the helpdesk you will also work with colleagues across NCVO on the production, and curation of content for our website and with internal and external stakeholders to produce sector leading practical webinars.
You will have a particular focus on volunteering, working with multiple stakeholders on a range of cross-organisational initiatives to ensure we develop and share best practice on involving volunteers.
Your good working knowledge of the voluntary sector, understanding of the specific needs of small charities and sharp focus on delivering excellent customer service will help us to effectively respond to the needs of the sector.
This is fast paced role and with good time management and attention to detail this role has a lasting/meaningful impact on the hundreds of charities we support.

The important stuff

Key Responsibilities
Spear Programme
- Lead group sessions of up to 10 young people, using coaching skills to transform their mindsets, and to maximise their potential in stepping into the world of work
- Prepare and deliver coaching sessions on a weekly basis and find creative ways of developing ongoing relationships with Spear Trainees. This includes running application workshops with past Trainees as well as maintaining records and reporting on statistics.
Relationship management
- Build and manage relationships with a variety of stakeholders, including referrers, local businesses, and other organisations
- You will support with job fairs, mock interview days and welcoming external visitors to the centre
Church Community
- The Spear Coach is directly employed by Citizen Church, meaning you are part of a vibrant church staff team and submerged in an exciting faith community

About the role
We’re looking for a motivated, communicative, and knowledgeable Public Affairs Officer to join our Policy and Influencing Team, to help us achieve the positive change children and young people with cancer across the UK, and their families, need in the health system. This means amplifying the voices of young cancer patients and delivering evidence-based campaigns that make change happen.
The Public Affairs Officer is responsible for supporting the Policy and Influencing Team with public affairs expertise to deliver the key components of our influencing work in England and UK-Wide (Westminster). You will help us influence the system for children and young people with cancer and their families, so we can change experiences of having cancer and ensure children and young people’s voices are heard.

Job Purpose
The Partnership Lead will play a key role in operationalising and overseeing the support for approximately 34 school hubs across England, contributing to local school improvement. They will also take the lead in operationalising the renewal of all schools across the Challenge Partners network.
Schools within Challenge Partners subscribe annually and join forces in local hubs, spanning England from Cornwall to County Durham. The hub works together over the course of the academic year pulling together a Hub Action Plan, which aims to tackle collectively agreed priorities using funding from Challenge Partners. Challenge Partners hubs provide the local element of our collaborative partnership.
The Partnership Lead will build and manage relationships with a wide range of stakeholders and hold responsibility for ensuring all hubs have everything they need to provide an excellent experience to schools. They will also support the renewal of all schools, through leading excellent Customer Care practices and operationalising the annual retention campaign, working with the Partnership Development Manager. They will work closely with the Partnership Experience Manager and the team of Partnership Coordinators to ensure excellent delivery.
Established in 2011, Challenge Partners is a well-respected nationwide network of practitioners who engage in hard-edged collaboration and mutual accountability to ensure every school community can benefit from the combined wisdom of the education system.
Key Responsibilities
Reporting to the Partnership Experience Manager, the Partnership Lead will have the following key areas of responsibility and will be expected to undertake other responsibilities commensurate with the role as requested:
Partnership Delivery and Development
Individual Partnership Delivery and Development responsibilities:

Implement the annual cycle of hub work, including planning and implementing key partnership correspondence, activities and events.

About the role
Leading a team of key investigators and working on shared goals with the Fossil Fuels Campaigning Lead, you will deliver impactful and credible investigations which help dismantle the power of the fossil fuel industry.
You will be responsible for building strategic, innovative and focused investigations, followed by strategic storytelling and collaborative advocacy to ensure they create the change we need at this critical time.
About you
You’ll bring your significant experience and expertise in all aspects of designing and overseeing successful investigations . You embrace collaboration, bringing compelling and authentic communication skills where you listen, engage and influence at all levels, with a broad range of individuals and organisations.

We are currently operating within a 4-day working week as part of a Shorter Working Week Trial. All our full-time employees work a 30-hour week with a Friday off as standard until May 2025.
