Essential

I am urgently seeking an experienced Reward Practitioner for a Charity to undertake an almost fully remote position as Interim Reward Business Partner for an initial 3 month contract. As Grants & Development Officer you will work closely with the Management Team and be responsible for the successful grants and fundraising activity for core and project-based work, as well as developing new income generation opportunities.
Grants, Fundraising and Other Income Generation:
· Undertake regular prospect research to identify potential funding streams and prioritise opportunities based around local, community, and organisational need.
· Work with the Management Team, to identify, apply for and secure funding through appropriate and successful grant and tender applications.

• Work with Children’s Services Assistant Director to develop new services in
Barnardo's priority growth areas and support implementation and roll out
of successful bids
Key Activities:
• Lead/Project Manage the implementation and delivery of bid strategies
leading to successful bids
• Manage tenders using agreed Business Development tools and processes,
including Business Case Evaluation, pipeline reporting, project planning, and
risk assessment following sign off procedures
• Maintain internal relationships with key internal stakeholders, including
Regional/National Director, Head Office Children’s Services and Business
Development Unit, Business Development colleagues based in other Regions
and Nations, Assistant Director Children’s Services, Assistant Director Finance
and Resources, Assistant Director People, Assistant Director Property and
Facilities Management, Regional Office teams, working with these colleagues
in operations and support services to create the ‘bid team’ that ensures bid
success and appropriate risk management

• Provide direct project management of tenders and bid writing support,
managing own projects and providing line management and supervision to
more junior staff members
• Lead on high value, high risk, high priority tenders for both new and existing
services/projects; manage the quality control on tender submissions,
proposals, bids, presentations, ensuring bid deadlines are met and feedback
sought on successful/unsuccessful proposals, implementing feedback to
improve future strategy
• Responsible for the safe custody of personal information that may be received
through tender documents (i.e. TUPE) and supervision of how this information
is used within Barnardo's. Also responsible for custody of information that is
sensitive to the commercial interests of Barnardo's
• Represent Barnardo's at internal and external meetings/events, including bid
presentations, negotiations and competitive dialogue.
• Use and embed updated project management methodologies and assist with
the roll out of new processes and project management tools
• Identify risks to project plans and implement actions in partnership with
internal stakeholders to mitigate risks and overcome challenges
• Maintain good relationships with existing clients/commissioners and develop
relationships with new clients and key stakeholders up to senior management
level in order to generate business opportunities and market Barnardo's
products and services
• Support negotiations with external clients and partners at middle and senior
management level and ensure that appropriate legal agreements are in place
• Capture and maintain knowledge and understanding of current markets
developments, policy changes and competitor activity in Children’s Services;
look for ways to use this knowledge to innovate in service delivery and
provide challenge to existing ways of working
• Assist in the process of promoting Barnardo's as the top provide and market
leader in Children’s Services

Reporting to the Head of Growth & Branding, the Business Development Manager will play an integral role in expanding our reach, focussing on local authorities.

Main Duties/Responsibilities:
- Developing, executing, and overseeing business development strategies through various local authorities, and seeking out new ways to expand Enable’s reach

- Network with local businesses and stakeholders to build relationships, identify and generate new opportunities and potential growth areas for Enable

Skills and Experience:
- Proven experience in Business Development and implementing successful growth strategies (preferably within a Not-for-profit environment)
- Varied experience working with local authorities, bringing contacts and connections to this role
- Confident writing bids and tenders
- A hunger for identifying new opportunities, and the tenacity to see that through to conversion
- Autonomy to self-motivate, drive change and work collaboratively in line with the Growth & Development Team
- Ability to engage and liaise effectively with diverse stakeholders, internal and external
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail and efficient time and workload management

We are currently looking for a Communications and Engagement Business Manager to join the Foundation on a 12 month fixed term contract.
The Communications and Engagement Business Manager is there to provide project and business management support to enable the Communications and Engagement leadership team to focus on progressing the work of the business area and leading the wider team. The Business Manager is embedded in the team in order to fully understand priorities, goals and ambitions and help enable the leadership team to achieve them.
Key Resposibilities
- Build an in-depth knowledge of the Communication and Engagement’s leadership priorities in order to help support the business area’s work.
- Build an in-depth knowledge of partnerships and stakeholders.
- Project management and administration activities for Communication and Engagement’s projects, monitoring critical paths, milestones, taking on discrete areas of project work as appropriate and making decisions autonomously.
- Communicate and negotiate projects and liaise with the wider Foundation team and other stakeholders on behalf of the Executive Directors to enable projects and tasks to progress.
- Proactive diary management for the leadership of the Communication and Engagement Team in conjunction with other Business and Diary Managers where necessary.
- Keep track of the Foundation’s planning points and rhythms in order to manage leadership time and stakeholders.
- Agenda planning and setting for leadership and full team meetings, in partnership with the Executive Directors.
