We are looking for an experienced relationship fundraiser to join our small team and help us engage with, and fundraise from, corporates, membership organisations, special interest groups and community groups across the north of England and Wales, and Scotland.

Main Purpose of the Job

The Digital Enabler will work with the District Leadership Team and the Communications Officer to build the digital communications capacity of the District at every level, to facilitate effective participation by all members in the life of the church in the North West District, and to make use of new opportunities for mission and community-building in the digital sphere.

Key Responsibilities

1.Ensure that the District leadership is able to fulfil its responsibilities by ensuring there are reliable digital platforms for online, live-streamed and recorded meetings and events, for electronic dissemination of information (via web, social media and mailings), and audio and video recording and sharing..

2.Enable all members of churches in the District to have the opportunity for participation in District forums and events, and to receive information from their District and Circuits.

3.Co-operate with District and Circuit leaders, ministers and pioneers in the development of new forms of mission and church communities using a range of digital resources.

Key Tasks

Training and Support

1.Create a digital strategy for the District, identifying the essential resources and support needed to enable full participation at every level, and the opportunities for missional work in the online world.

2.Support the administration and governance of the District by facilitating online synods, committees and consultations.

3.Build a network of “digital champions” within Circuits and provide advice and support for local training and capacity building.

4.Devise and deliver online training courses for Circuits and churches.

5.Develop a “Digital Community of Practice” across the District, and linking where appropriate across the Connexion, which will envisage and create new ways of being and growing church in the digital age.

6.Work with safeguarding officers to raise awareness of digital safeguarding issues, and create usable information and guidelines for Circuits and churches.

Facilities and Resources

1.Work with the Communications Officer in building and maintaining the District’s online presence, including the website and social media.

2.Develop a range of digital tools and resources for the use of the District and its Circuits, and assist in their implementation. (These could include servicing local website and social media initiatives, plan-making and emailing applications.)

3.Collect and disseminate information on digital specialists in the District who can serve Circuits and churches. (This could include graphic designers, web and database programmers, audio-visual and streaming experts and others.)

Events and Online Communities

1.Provide technical support for online and live-streamed District events, including advertising, registration and ticketing, online and streaming facilities.

2.Work with the Mission Area Leads, Circuits and pioneers in implementing digital services, online communities and missional initiatives.

Personal Training and Growth

1.Maintain an awareness of changes in digital applications and resources, and consider how they can be used in the District.

2.Identify opportunities to expand knowledge and understanding, including by appropriate courses.

3.Reflect theologically on issues around faith in the digital world, and the opportunities for sharing the gospel by these means.

Job Vacancy – Regional Adviser

The right candidate will enjoy and excel at managing their own diary and workload and would have significant experience of working in an educational, health or social care environment. About the Masonic Charitable Foundation

The Masonic Charitable Foundation (MCF) is one of the UK’s leading charities, providing a range of benevolent support to individuals and awarding grants to local and national charities.

Our work helps to encourage opportunity, promote independence and improve wellbeing for thousands of people each year.  Last year, the MCF awarded support totalling around £20 million.  Our support is funded from the donations of freemasons, their families and friends.

Our Regional Advisers are home-based workers who are compassionate and dedicated to responding to the needs of Freemasons and their dependents in their area, providing essential support. Their main purpose is to visit and contact members of the Masonic community to determine their needs and to help them to access support from the MCF and other relevant agencies. Support is provided through a combination of home visits, telephone calls, or video calling. 

The role also provides guidance, support and recommendations to office based staff processing applications for our extensive range of grants to support those in need. They form close and effective working relationships with local volunteers, providing support and guidance to extend our reach.

Main responsibilities

• Responding to/visiting freemasons and their dependents to:
  • provide support and advice; and
  • determine relevant support from the MCF or other agencies to meet their needs
• Face-to-face visits, video conferencing and in-depth telephone calls are required to provide extensive and detailed support.
• Production of accurate and comprehensive reports detailing agreed plans and all relevant supporting documents
• Liaising with colleagues within the department to provide guidance and support in processing applications for our extensive range of grants to assist those in need
• Ambassadorial role for MCF, liaising with other stakeholders, delivering occasional presentations and workshops to raise awareness of the role of the Advice, Support and Enquiries Team and support available from the MCF

Location

We all work from home, however travel and overnight stays are required as part of the role.  You'll attend around three symposia a year, which usually run from Mondays to Thursdays and are currently held in the Lake District.  You'll also attend up to three half-day meetings in London a year, which may require overnight stays depending on how far away from London you live.  The biennial prizegiving ceremony is also held in London. It would be helpful if you had a full UK driving licence and access to your own car.

Furthering Talent helps musicians from the earliest stage in their musical journey. You will be the first point of contact and support for the team of Connectors in your Hubs, attending Teachers’ Forums and Get Togethers where possible and helping with the coordination of data gathering and management. You will help drive the promotion of the Connector role and handle any incoming Connector enquiries via the Young Sounds website, allocating them to the appropriate Connector. You will oversee the mentoring and youth voice offer in each Hub. You will be a champion for Young Sounds’ musically inclusive approach throughout the sector and will support the promotion of Young Sounds’ CPD and learning resources, especially the Charanga hosted Individual Learning Plan.

The Position

The Director, People Team works closely with Executive Director and the European Senior Leadership Team (ESLT) to lead the European People Team. They are also a member of the People Senior Leadership Team (SLT) and will have a dual reporting line to the VP, People Team.  The Director will define, drive, develop, and implement People team strategies and culture change  that align with MCE strategy and global People Team priorities in support of Mercy Corps’ transformative Pathways to Possibility (P2P) strategy. The post-holder's responsibilities extend to all Mercy Corps’ offices in Europe and include ensuring full legal and regulatory compliance across all jurisdictions and working effectively with other stakeholders to ensure a positive employee experience and an organizational culture where talented people want to come to work and can thrive.

Essential Responsibilities

•Advocates for and represents all areas of Mercy Corps’ People strategy. Actively participate as a strategic leader and member of the Mercy Corps Europe (MCE) senior leadership team and People Team SLT.

•Works with the Executive Director to guide the overall vision and approach of the People Team in MCE, delivering clear actionable plans aligned with needs and the context for MCE, and gain support/ownership for that agenda with key stakeholders.

•Build a strong, people-focused team in Europe characterized by high-level of trust, engagement, innovation and creativity who are aligned to the vision and have the skills and motivation to deliver it.

•Strategically develops and manages cross-departmental and cross-functional relationships and activities to ensure that the people function is well integrated into wider agency objectives.

•Design, develop and lead the People function for Mercy Corps in Europe, supporting the Executive Director in Europe to deliver on the European Strategic Plan.

•Oversee the expansion of MCE into new countries in Europe and ensure full HR compliance in all European legal jurisdictions in which Mercy Corps operates. 

•Set and track annual KPIs as part of the three-year strategic plan for Mercy Corps in Europe, providing this data monthly and quarterly to the Executive Director in Europe and supporting with reporting to the Board as required. 

•Lead the compensation benchmarking across all European markets and benchmark individual roles within the pay bands, ensuring there are clear guidelines for all staff on how to position staff within bands, support career development and ensure staff are trained to manage staff according to the Mercy Corps progression approach.

•Ensure our benefits align with vision to ensure we remain an employer of choice able to attract, develop, and retain talent.

•Support Senior Leadership Team in Europe to promote team member wellbeing and build the culture which will support us to deliver on the Mercy Corps strategy.

•Serve as a trusted and credible advisor to managers and team members on a wide range of HR-related topics, including performance management, team member development, All Voices survey and leadership development

•Leverage and supports ongoing communication campaigns to strengthen the People team brand throughout appropriate digital, social media and in-person avenues within the agency. Apply lessons learned and best practices to achieve this objective at the country and regional level.

•Partner with the Employee Relations Team to ensure strategic decision-making and compliance in all performance and conduct related issues.

•Leads and assists in the development and planning of organizational change/transformation, leading identification/framing of problems, creation of trusting relationships, and action plan fulfillment.

•Works with the People team leadership team to develop and implement organization-wide HR policies and programs and ensure that they are consistently applied across the region.

•Adopts a data and evidence-based approach to identify trends and areas for improvement and providing recommendations to senior leadership on how to address any issues or concerns.

•Actively promoting the organization's diversity and inclusion initiatives and working with the European Senior Leadership Team (ESLT) and the People team functions to develop programs and initiatives that support a diverse and inclusive workplace.

•In addition to these specific responsibilities, the Director, People Team must possess strong leadership skills, excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, and a deep understanding of HR best practices and regulations. They must also be able to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment and be able to adapt to changing business needs and priorities.

Minimum Qualifications & Transferable Skills

•10 years of Human Resources experience in global roles with a bachelor’s degree in HR or related field.

•CIPD (or equivalent) qualified to Level 7 is highly desirable.

•Understanding of the HR legal requirements in UK and mainland European countries, especially Belgium, Netherlands, Switzerland, and France. Knowledge of Germany an advantage.

•Exposure to INGO or similar international organisation is highly preferable.

•Experience leading a diverse team across geographies for at least five years.

•Demonstrated capacity to utilize analytics and technology to improve efficiency.

•Demonstrated capacity to incorporate best in class assessment approaches in global organization.

Living / Environmental Conditions

This position is based in London or Edinburgh or remote home-working location in the UK and will be required to travel to Mercy Corps in Europe’s offices across the UK and the European continent to oversee team members and represent the organization’s European Senior Leadership Team. It requires up to 20% travel in support of Mercy Corps programs. This position may be asked to travel on occasion with little notice.

Are you our new Event Support Consultant?

Right now, we are searching for an Event Support Consultant on a fixed term, part-time contract. As the Event Support Consultant, you will play a vital role in coordinating and organising the Africa National Committee Regional Meeting in October 2024; an international event bringing together staff and volunteers from up to 50 countries, to represent UWC national committees, schools and colleges.
The meeting is an important opportunity to build the UWC community, share learnings and best practices, celebrate our achievements and enable collaboration and understanding amongst stakeholder groups.

Working closely with a team of staff and volunteers on the Regional Meeting Planning Committee, the Event Support Officer will liaise directly with flight providers, caterers and hotels to support meeting delegates with their itineraries and preparation for the event. You will keep a database of attendees and providers from the outset tracking information, reporting as necessary and using your negotiation and communication skills as needed.

The My Name’5 Doddie Foundation has a single, clear vision: a world free of Motor Neuron Disease (MND). The Director of Research is a key position in the organisation that leads our research activities, managing a small team as we invest in a prioritised and focused research portfolio. What you will be doing as a Senior Trust Fundraiser:

• You will proactively and strategically develop national and regional funding bids, leading Kids relationships with a varied portfolio of funders.
• You will create and coordinate cross organisational project development groups and manage diverse priorities and input to craft national fundable projects that support the organisational strategies.

• You will have an understanding of budgets and feel comfortable fielding questions about charity finances

To date we have been awarded more than 20 contracts to deliver Personal Wellbeing, Finance, Benefit & Debt and Women’s Services across England and Wales.

About this key role

Our successful candidate will monitor and manage the receipt of referrals from Probation through the Customer Approved System (CAS) ensuring they are successfully assigned to Personal Wellbeing Coaches using the appropriate guidance and process, ensure all inputting is accurate and within agreed timescales, plus provide regular activity reports to the Personal Wellbeing Manager.  You will be the primary point of contact for all enquiries, external and internal to ensure communication channels are clear and effective, while also liaising with external stakeholders (e.g. Prisons), delivery partners, spot purchase providers and other agencies to arrange appointments, referrals, and generally ensure information exchanged is done in a clear, timely and effective manner.

Developing and maintaining an Estates log and diary to ensure the team always have an approved site to meet service users in mandated locations when needed and providing administration for meetings, including bookings, invitations and minute-taking, are also vital duties.

What we are looking for

• Experience of managing Customer Relationship Management systems, including inputting data and creating reports
• An understanding of the barriers faced by people with complex and multiple needs
• Knowledge of Trauma Informed practice and how to apply it in supporting service users
• Ability to develop and maintain means by which compliance with policy and procedure can be effectively monitored and reported on, including financial expenditure
• Impressive prioritisation relationship-building and interpersonal abilities
• First-class communication skills, both verbal and written
• A flexible, collaborative and professional approach to your work.

Please note this role requires that successful candidates must undergo an Enhanced Adult Only DBS check, on the basis that the post involves contact with vulnerable participants and colleagues.
