Responsibilities of our Senior Management Accountant:
- Leading the Management Accountant team of five Management Accountants, supporting ongoing individual and team development
- Responsible for the provision and development of management reporting
- Provide financial insight and expertise to support well-informed financial decision-making and delivery for the charity’s plans
- Facilitate and manage the budget and forecast processes, advising the team and reviewing the outputs
- Review the monthly management accounts and reports, providing insight and analysis on key variances and risks affecting the charity
- Develop strong working relationships across the charity, building business partnering capability in the team and ensuring high quality support and expertise is provided to all directorates
- Work constructively with the Senior Financial Accountant to ensure processes and priorities are aligned across the whole for the Finance team
About the Finance team:
- Responsible for managing the financial operations of the Charity
- Plays a vital role in the organisation’s success by ensuring sound financial management, better informed decision making and supporting delivery of the overall strategy
- Responsibility for key tasks such as budgeting, financial reporting, forecasting and analysis
- The Management Accountant team are a team of five, reporting into the Senior Management Accountant, all of whom support the Head of Budgeting & Reporting
- The wider Finance team includes the Operational Finance team, including AP, financial accounting and payroll
What we’re looking for in our Senior Management Accountant::
- CCAB qualified accountant
- Experience leading a team of qualified Management Accountants
- Experience working in a senior Management Accountant role in a large organisation (250+ employees)
- Experience using appropriate accounting software and systems/ERP systems
- Experience working with budget holders as well as providing support and advice around financial management issues
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office – particularly in Excel
- Excellent people management, communication and organisational skills
- Ability to build and maintain strong working relationships

- Planning and developing successful fundraising strategies and action plans.
- Undertaking voluntary sector project evaluations / developing M&E frameworks.
- Planning and developing successful contract tender submissions.
The role is varied and interesting - managing a portfolio of clients and supporting them directly or strategically with their fundraising, impact evaluation and organisational development. Our consultants are all employees and we work closely together as a supportive team, sharing and developing skills and knowledge. We anticipate the appointee may not hold experience across all core areas of our services. We will enable the appointee to focus on projects that play to their strengths and experience and provide further support and training as necessary.
Based from home (must be UK resident), with ad hoc client and team meetings/socials (all travel paid), mostly within England. All IT equipment provided. Full-time or part-time (minimum 0.8 FTE - 28 hrs).

NLCBF’s main activities include running 9 hybrid events each year for leaving care professionals and care experienced young people; facilitating online events and workshops throughout the year and working to influence policy and decision makers in government and other public bodies.

Job Description
The purpose of the Practice Lead role is to ensure that the National Leaving Care Benchmarking Forum remains up to date with the latest legislative, policy and guidance developments in leaving care, and stays at the forefront of best practice. The post holder will utilise this knowledge to share information, develop products and tools for members, and to deliver training, consultancy work and events to members, in order to achieve our aim of improving outcomes for young people leaving care..
The post holder will:
- Remain at the forefront of best practice and key trends in the leaving care sector.
- Work with the other Practice Lead and the NLCBF Manager to develop the policy and practice focus to support NLCBF members, leading on a number of topic areas.
- Support the running of engaging events for NLCBF member local authorities for sharing best practice, national updates and for networking.
- Work closely with the Co-production and Engagement Lead to ensure the voices of care experienced young people are shared throughout the work of NLCBF
- Actively research and develop a network of experts in the leaving care sector, fostering and maintaining these relationships so they can contribute towards achieving outcomes for the Forum.
- Actively engage with local authority members and non-members to understand their key successes and challenges, and develop strong relationships.
- Support the management of the day to day business of the NLCBF and work closely with the NLCBF Manager to ensure this provides value for money for members and makes the best use of resources.

You’ll work with colleagues across the wider Parkinson’s UK Scotland team to support the delivery of local priorities to reach and support more people affected by Parkinson’s.

- Ensure quality service standards are met, including assessing needs, advocacy, information and support given and referrals

About the Role

As Relationship Manager, as part of a friendly and collaborative team, you will drive the community fundraising strategy with focus on the growth of unrestricted income by galvanizing fundraising support from a growing sports portfolio, local corporates, volunteer fundraising groups and the public. This post will focus on achieving agreed financial income targets and relevant KPI's in either Wales or London and surrounding areas.
How you'll help to create brighter futures by
- Managing and deliver fundraising campaigns and activities across a specific geographic area (London or Wales) to achieve significant income growth in line with the fundraising strategy and to also support other fundraising initiatives progressed by Action for Children.
- Researching and developing volunteer group prospects to create a pipeline of opportunities.
- Securing support for the sports portfolio, encouraging the public to run, walk, cycle for Action for Children.
- Securing support and introductions to potential funders and fundraisers i.e. local businesses, supporters, sports clubs, schools etc and build and sustain relationships.
- Securing and setting up 'Action Squads', for volunteer led fundraising groups to successfully fundraise and raise awareness in a specific geographic area (Wales or London) and to obtain support for the sports portfolio, encouraging the public to run, walk, cycle for Action for Children.
- Always demonstrating accountability to supporters and volunteers and operating with openness, honesty, transparency and consistent with all current Fundraising regulatory standards, data protection, VAT and Gift Aid legislation.
- Managing and delivering on set financial targets and outcomes set across the specific geographic area (London or Wales).
- Monitoring and analyse financial income and expenditure, ensuring forecasted income has been received and banked.

- Professional Institute of Fundraising qualification (desirable.)
- Membership of IoF (desirable).
- Demonstrable track record of continual achievement leading and delivering fundraising in a specific geographic area.
- Proven understanding supplier agreements, contracts, funding agreements and where these are affected by VAT and other Fundraising legislation.
- Knowledge and understanding of tax efficient giving in the UK.
- Ability to manage challenging situations and to ensure the delivery of events and fundraising activity in a safe and professional manner.
- Proven experience of networking and influencing to achieved desired outcomes.
- Ability to demonstrate a high level of discretion when dealing with HNWIs and organisations.
- Proven ability to project manage a team of fundraisers to achieve against specific financial goals where appropriate.
