Join Operation Smile UK as our Senior Acquisition Manager and make a difference in the lives of children. We're searching for a fundraising professional with experience in acquiring new donors through a variety of fundraising channels including Door to Door (F2F), digital fundraising, DRTV, cold mailing and door drops. You'll be responsible for managing a £2.4 million budget and developing innovative strategies to increase individual cash and regular giving support. This role is not responsible for the supervision or direction of staff.
Operation Smile is a global nonprofit specialising in cleft surgery and care. We provide medical training, education and mentorship to surgical teams around the world, along with expertise, research and care through our staff and volunteers, working alongside local governments, nonprofits and health systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and drive recruitment of regular givers and cash givers to grow income and supporter volumes, in a multi-channel programme including Door to Door (F2F), digital fundraising channels, DRTV, cold mailing and door drops.
- Manage relationships with agency partners executing acquisition campaigns on behalf of Operation Smile UK for the betterment of the acquisition programme.
- Lead and execute our door-to-door (F2F) programme with the goal of expanding this form of acquisition fundraising over the coming years.
- Conduct a comprehensive evaluation of OSUK's digital acquisition fundraising program, including the performance of current agencies and consultants. Develop strategic recommendations and a future-focused plan that leverages the expertise of existing or new external partners.
- Full campaign management and execution in line with prescribed deadlines. This includes briefing agencies, sourcing content, managing data, copy development, proofing, briefing stakeholders, training agents, developing campaign analysis and reporting, managing costs and invoice processing.
- Monitor and report on budgets and assist in building future expenditure and income targets. Work as part of the Individual Giving team to reach strategic targets.
- Work closely with the Communications & Digital team, and Individual Giving team to ensure campaigns are in line with brand standards and integrated seamlessly with supporter retention.
- Work closely with the Individual Giving team to constantly refine the newly introduced ‘welcome programme’ aimed at transitioning new donors to retained donors and improving retention rate.

- Collaborate with the Senior Database Manager to develop and implement essential Power BI dashboards. Proactively request ad-hoc data analysis to track key acquisition metrics and inform strategic decision-making.
- Introduce new acquisition channels and develop existing ones within KPIs to manage risk and keep fundraising up-to-date within evolving channels.
- To ensure that campaigns are where possible integrated or co-ordinated thematically, creatively and/or by target audience to maximise impact.

Role purpose
As Digital and Social Media Manager, you will be using digital communication channels to support the engagement of our community of supporters, partners, patients, families and staff in the work of the charity and helping realise our shared ambition with the Trust to be national leaders in the delivery of patient care and health innovation.
The Digital and Social Media Manager is part of a collaborative and creative team responsible for the development and delivery of the CW+ Communications and Marketing strategy, including on- and offline communications, PR and media, donor stewardship and marketing collateral, and events support.

Key responsibilities and duties
- Working with the Head of Communications and Marketing to ensure effective, data-driven use of CW+ digital channels (website and social media) in support of marketing, communications and fundraising plans.

Job Summary:
The Digital Marketing and Engagement Executive will be responsible for developing, executing and optimising strategies to enhance digital presence, drive and engagement, and foster loyal long-term support. This role combines digital marketing expertise with a passion for building and managing strong relationships with the Construction Media, Industry membership bodies and worshipful companies. The role requires a creative, organised and proactive individual who can manage multiple projects and work collaboratively in a small team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Digital Marketing Strategy
- Develop and implement a comprehensive digital marketing strategy to drive engagement and conversions across platforms including social media, email, website, and paid channels.
- Coordinate with the CRASH teams to deliver and manage consistent, on-brand messaging across all digital touchpoints.
- Engagement
- Develop and nurture relationships with the Construction media, Industry membership bodies and worshipful companies ensuring meaningful interactions and positive experiences.
- Identify and build long lasting relationships with media outlets, drafting press releases and securing media coverage.
- Aim to be the Construction charity of choice at media and association events.
- Mange CRASH’s attendance at such events and look to drive increased revenue from attendance at industry events.
- Content Creation & Management:
- Create and distribute engaging content for charity projects and promotional materials across various channels, including social media, email, newsletters, website, press releases and marketing materials ensuring alignment with brand values and organisational goals.
- Attend project visits with the projects team to help create story content.
- Lead on content scheduling and publishing, ensuring messages are timely and relevant.
- Create and maintain a content calendar that supports key campaigns, events, and organisational priorities.
- Data Analysis, Reporting & Trend Monitoring
- Monitor and analyse digital engagement metrics (social media, website traffic, email open rates, etc.) to assess campaign effectiveness and refine strategies.
- Prepare regular reports for CE and board of trustees highlighting successes, insights, and areas for improvement.
- Stay updated on digital marketing trends, supporter engagement best practices, and emerging technologies.
- Propose and implement innovative approaches to engage audiences and build brand loyalty.
- General
- Represent the organisation at virtual and in-person events, strengthening relationships with key supporters.
- Support fundraising team at events.
- Ensure all brand promotional materials are up to date and current
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Formal qualification in Marketing, Public Relations, Event Management, or qualified by experience.
- Previous experience in communications, event management, or a related role, preferably within a nonprofit setting.
- Excellent communication skills with experience in writing compelling narrative and the ability to tailor messaging to different audiences.
- Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Experience in social media management, content creation, and digital marketing.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and design tools (e.g., WordPress Canva, Adobe Creative Suite).
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across teams and build relationships with diverse stakeholders.
- A passion for the mission and work of the charity and a desire to make a positive impact
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in fundraising event planning and donor relations.
- Experience with digital tools such as HubSpot, Act, or similar CRM platforms.
