Working arrangements 

This is a home-based role with some travel (approximately 2-3 trips per month) to meet with partners, prospects, and Community Fundraising teams across the West Midlands and North West of England. You’ll be reimbursed for all reasonable travel expenses.

As this is a regional role and given the current pipeline of opportunities, we are looking for candidates who live in the West Midlands or North West of England regions.
 
On occasion, you may also be required to work flexibly to support evening and weekend activity. Where this is the case, you will be compensated for this with time off in lieu.

You can work under your own initiative from a home base while still contributing positively to the regional teams.

JOB PURPOSE

The post holder will support all aspects of business development to achieve the Association’s objectives, including securing funding from a range of sources; keeping abreast of income sources and funding opportunities; assisting and supporting the development of bids, tenders, and making applications to grant makers, trusts and others with funds to invest.

Some Key Tasks & Responsibilities:-

· Preparing quality funding bids and tender submissions (including to Trusts; Foundations’ Lottery; Local Authorities, Health Service, etc.) to meet the Association’s objectives.

· Keep abreast of funding and tendering opportunities from public, government, trusts and private sectors ensuring WLCA managers and consortium partners are kept informed, where appropriate.

· Maximising opportunities by preparing and submitting expressions of interest /pre-qualification through to the tender stage, objectively reviewing bid submissions and making appropriate changes/improvements.

· Ensuring bids and tender submissions are developed with community engagement and input, ideally coproduced with community members and potential beneficiaries.

· Supporting the development of project concepts by researching and developing relationships with prospective funders.

· Liaising with and supporting consortium funding opportunities, applications, and project development in line with the tendering and funding bid requirements.

· Developing and maintaining a database of funders and creating good practice fundraising guides and model applications.

· Developing links with the private sector to provide sponsorships and funding through Social Value and Corporate Social Responsibility.

Title: Consultancy for mid-term review of INSPIRE refractive error project

Location: Pakistan / Global

Contract: Approximately 30-45 workdays over six months

In Pakistan, eye health services are an integral part of the government health system, led by the National Committee for Eye Health (NCEH). The NCEH, which includes government and civil society stakeholders such as Sightsavers, has developed the ambitious IPEC plan 2020-2030. This plan highlights the need for strategies targeting disadvantaged communities, including women, the elderly, and people with disabilities. It also recognises the necessity for a comprehensive national refractive error (RE) strategy and a national training programme for opticians.

• Conduct a Mid-Term Review to assess the project's progress, successes, and challenges.
• Conduct primary data collection in the project areas (initial sampling suggests that around 116 individuals should be consulted across the stakeholder groups, although final details can be agreed between Sightsavers and the consultant during inception).
• Evaluate the effectiveness of implementation approaches, including equity strategies, social and behaviour change (SBC) activities, and public-private partnership models.
• Validate initial findings through a workshop with implementing partners.
• Provide recommendations for adjustments to the project and future similar projects.
• Contribute evidence towards answering Sightsavers' thematic learning questions for refractive error.
• Coordinate with various stakeholders to ensure timely delivery of activities and high-quality outputs.

• Extensive experience in monitoring and evaluation for international development projects/programmes, with strong skills in both qualitative and quantitative approaches.
• Thematic expertise in eye health evaluations, preferably with experience in refractive error, inclusive health, and primary eye care.

About this role  

The Senior Business Development & Fundraising Coordinator will work as part of the Fundraising and business development Team at RedR. Their role is to work across all income streams within business development and fundraising, with a focus on running the business development and fundraising team’s day to day work, supporting the Associate Director of Programmes and Business Development in meeting BD and fundraising targets, draft high quality bids – particularly to institutional funders-, and nurturing relationships individual and corporate donors, as well as trusts and foundations.  

    

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

Team, Project and Line Management  

• Manage the day-to-day operations of the business development and fundraising team, including line management of the BD/Fundraising Officer. 

• Ensure timely delivery of BD and fundraising projects and deadlines in coordination with teams across organisation 

• Oversee the management and maintenance of Salesforce and other software and applications. 

• Ensure accurate income consolidation and donation capturing. 

• Support the Associate Director of Programmes and Business Development in developing/updating and operationalising team strategies, budgets, systems, and processes. 

• Regularly provide feedback and information to achieve improved results and integrate planning and delegation when making decisions. 

Achieving Results: 

Business Development 

• Set ambitious targets together with Associate Director and achieve progress toward organisational objectives and Operational Plan.  

• Conduct internal reporting and prospect research into opportunities and funder priorities 

• Lead the development of successful small-medium and occasionally larger and complex bids to institutional and corporate donors, trusts and foundations in collaboration with teams across the organisation  

• Assist the Associate Director of Programmes and Business Development in developing large bids, primarily for institutional funders, ensuring drafts are prepared to a high standard.  

Fundraising: (With support from Communications Team) 

• Lead the delivery of smaller fundraising activities and events. 

• Collaborate with teams across the organisation to secure funding from trusts and foundations. 

• Identify and implement opportunities for engaging individual donors. 

Engaging with Stakeholders: 

• Develop and implement strategies for engagement and partnerships with a wide range of funding stakeholders. 

• Nurture strategic partnerships with key clients, understanding their underlying needs and exploring opportunities for cross-collaboration. 

• Share relationship management of institutional and corporate donors, trusts and foundations. 

• Communicate RedR UK’s unique value proposition to clients and expand the scope of engagement with them. 

• Successfully negotiate terms that benefit both the client and RedR UK. 

Demonstrating Leadership: 

• Line-manage BD coordinator effectively, setting clear objectives and monitoring performance.

FUNCTIONAL EXPECTATIONS

About the Role

The organisation delivers a range of targeted youth programmes for children and young people who benefit from more intensive support, to reach their goals including mental-health and emotional wellbeing support, careers and enterprise initiatives, youth voice and social action opportunities; and programmes addressing serious youth violence and exploitation.

We are looking for a Trusts and Grants Manager to oversee the fundraising of all restricted income.  Restricted income makes up 70% of the overall income stream, and enables the charity to deliver core youth work activities as well as targeted programmes such as employability, health improvement and social prescribing, detached youth work and more, with over 50 funded contracts per year. 

Key duties include:

• Manage a pipeline of restricted income
• Propose, cost and write trusts and grants applications that typically span from £5,000 to £100,000
• Support the Director of Fundraising to complete applications for unrestricted funding
• Keep up to date with local and national funding opportunities
• Chair the bi-weekly trusts and grants meetings
• Work closely with the Director of Youth Services to mobilise successful bids
• Support during the preparation of financial audits

This role will include both line management and hands on grant application and stewarding of commissioners.

Job Summary:  
The position of Event Manager is a central role within the Foundation, not only driving the Foundation forward in both fundraising and keeping the cogs turning in all aspects from administrative detail to event organisation. 

This role is unique, from the breadth of responsibilities to the ownership it allows for an individual. 

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Leading development, delivery and execution of the LGF events programme, consisting of already established major donor events and a focus on improving the range of events for a wide general audience that maximises fundraising and drives supporter engagement.

• Develop and maintain strong relationships with event co-founders, committee members, stakeholders and high net worth individuals to maximise income and secure continued committed support.

• To closely work with the relevant events production agency to ensure the smooth running of events e.g. ensuring dietaries are collected, managing event budget inline with sponsorship.

• Responsible for all major donor relationship management.

• Responsible for day-to-day internal fundraising tasks, ensuring gift aid claims are up to date etc…

• Aiding co-founders and committee members with event sponsorship bids and presentations.

• Main LGF contact for event sponsors, includes ensuring contractual agreements are met, generally keeping them informed and happy with the partnership.

• PR- oversee the activities of our pro bono PR team from an events perspective.

• Lead, coach and work closely with the Events and Fundraising Executive to enable them to take on responsibilities for smaller events and manage tasks within the events. 

• General Event Management - Overseeing the organisation of the event, managing invites and RSVP’s, ticket payments where necessary, event sponsors
