Our main area of focus is the elimination of schistosomiasis and soil-transmitted helminthiases (intestinal worms). Endemic infections of these parasitic worms are found in some of the world’s most marginalised communities, and they can have a hugely detrimental effect on individuals, including:
- Reduced productivity
- Internal organ damage
- Impaired child development
- Reduced school attendance
- Increased risk of HIV in women
- Infertility
The role
The Associate Technical Advisor will support project management and provision of technical assistance to endemic country governments across a portfolio of NTD projects, with a focus on schistosomiasis (SCH) and soil-transmitted helminthiases (STH). Working with Deputy Directors and Technical Advisors within the Technical Team, the Associate Technical Advisor will contribute to planning and delivery of NTD programming, monitoring of progress and project outcomes, and reporting.
Having excellent communication, the Associate Technical Advisor will have technical knowledge of global health issues and ideally also the control and elimination of neglected tropical diseases and will support the wider team in working respectfully and in partnership with our colleagues globally. The Associate Technical Advisor will ideally also have experience working in sub-Saharan Africa and effectively managing daily priorities in a flexible and adaptable manner.
Essential requirements of this role are a professional working proficiency in French to enable working in a francophone environment and the ability to regularly travel to (primarily) French-speaking sub-Saharan African countries.

We have an exciting opening for someone to join our team as Head of Core Campaigns. Playing a senior role in our Impactful Campaigns department, you’ll help run and win campaigns that make the UK a better place but you’ll also be a key player in shaping the overall direction of 38 Degrees – including the culture, the team, and organisational strategy.
Day-to-day, you’ll be developing campaign and public affairs and media strategies and guiding teams to put those plans into action.
No one day will be the same: sometimes you’ll be responding quickly to a news moment and other times working on longer term projects and campaigns, often needing to change direction or reprioritise quickly and decisively.
You’ll be a champion of our supporters and come up with ideas and tactics – from digital tools like petitions, to media and working with external partners and allies – that will engage huge numbers of people, and allow us to make real change in the world. We need a campaigns expert who understands politics, the media, digital campaigning, partnership working and what it takes to win campaigns.
The Head of Core Campaigns leads the Campaigns team, overseeing and supporting the development of plans and supporting the team to run impactful, highly engaging campaigns, which aim to shape the country to be fair, respectful and sustainable; and the Public Affairs and Media team, to ensure that we’re taking every opportunity to show decision-makers our muscle and boost our brand and reputation.
Your background and experience
To succeed in this role, you’ll need excellent communication skills, sound political judgement, the ability to thrive when working at pace and to role model a collaborative approach. This is not a hands off role, and you’ll be expected to lead the team, and our ‘one team’ way of working culture, by example.

As you’ll oversee our small Public Affairs and Media team, you’ll know what makes Westminster tick, and how to influence politicians and journalists in every part of the country.
You’ll have experience of working in productive and positive environments, and you’ll have insight into how teams can be set up for success in a campaigning space.
You’ll be adept and experienced at project management, understand the pressures the team face working in a fast paced reactive environment, and be able to get the best of people in this context to help deliver on longer term, strategic goals alongside making the most of quick reactive opportunities.

EduSpots is an innovative, dynamic, and community-driven UK and Ghanaian registered charity which connects, trains, and equips voluntary community educators (named ‘Catalysts’) to drive community-led change through education spaces named ‘Spots’. About this role
We are looking for an engaging and dynamic fundraising specialist and team player with a proven track record of income generation, to take on this exciting new role at this exciting point of our organisational growth.
Across the last two years, EduSpots has significantly grown its income, and significantly advanced the quality, scope and reach of its operations in Ghana, with further plans for expansion in the years ahead. We are looking for an individual that understands the value of community-led change, with all our work centred on, and resulting from the actions of 400 locally-based educational Catalysts.
Reporting directly to the CEO, you will take on the responsibility for growing our income generation from trusts and foundations, as well as building a strong network of partnerships with schools, corporates and individuals who will contribute effectively to our overall annual income targets. We are looking for an experienced individual, who is able to work with the CEO to develop larger fundraising partnerships at this point in our development.
You will oversee a small part-time fundraising team, comprising a Fundraising Manager, Trusts and Foundations Manager, and Communications Manager, alongside interns and other income-generation roles that may emerge.

Main Duties and Responsibilities
The key responsibilities of this role are to:
Team management

Manage the Trusts and Foundations Manager (part-time, 1 day a week), the Fundraising Manager (2 days/week), and the Communications Manager (full-time), alongside other income-generation roles that emerge, ensuring strategic input into their work, and support of their professional development and well-being.

Trusts and Foundations

Support the Trusts and Foundations Manager to continue to build relationships with small and medium trusts and foundations.

Oversee our grants database to track and monitor applications, outcomes, reporting requirements etc.

Develop relationships with new larger grant-makers and prepare information including requirements for application and deadlines.

Work with the UK and Ghana team to identify projects, programmes and areas of work suitable for grant funding.

Community fundraising, events and individual giving

Work with the Fundraising Manager to build further relationships in support of our work through strategic input into campaigns, events, school partnerships, the Elmina-based EduSpots Experience and the redevelopment of our online courses.

Identify, develop and promote sponsorship opportunities that are attractive to corporate partners and that achieve income generation for specific projects and programmes.

Skills, Experience and Attributes

Proven track record of income generation - ideally in a similar education / international development organisation.

The Worker Support Centre (WSC) is a Scotland based charity that promotes decent work and prevents exploitation. We support marginalised and isolated workers in labour sectors where there is a high risk of abuse and exploitation. We work in partnership with workers to build power to secure and advance workplace rights. We prevent human trafficking for forced labour by acting to reduce the risks of worker exploitation. WSC values include: respect for human rights, representation, transparency, equality and innovation.
WSC support includes advice, mediation, advocacy and assisted reporting to enforcement agencies. Our worker engagement informs policy change activity to address harms faced by those in high-risk work. In 2023 and 2024 WSC activities were targeted at workers in seasonal agriculture on the UK Seasonal Worker visa (SWV). During this time, we provided advice, support, and information to 1031 people in relation to the SWV. WSC is now embarking on a new project to engage workers in health and social care to advance social care workers’ rights through worker education and power sessions.
About the role
This role is focused on advancing seasonal agricultural and social care workers’ rights by supporting WSC’s policy and advocacy work. In this role you will support WSC meet two of its four core objectives to work together with workers to claim spaces for power and representation in decision making; and to build the field of knowledge about workers and their experiences to influence policy. As well as work delivered directly by WSC, our policy work includes coordinating with coalitions such as the Ethical Trading Initiative, the Seasonal Worker Interest Group and the Scottish Food Coalition.
WSC strives to achieve representation of individuals with lived experience of the issues on which we work at all levels of our organisation and actively promote applications from individuals with experience of the issues on which we work.
Main tasks and responsibilities
Policy and advocacy
· Lead in the development of components of policy, ensuring engagement of workers and cross-organisational engagement.

1) KNOWLEDGE AND TECHNICAL SKILLS
- WSC Organisational knowledge, and/or knowledge of the issues on which we work: labour rights, migrant rights, organising, anti-trafficking and human rights.
