About the Role: 

This role will lead the delivery of a new STEM project for Girl Guides and Girl Scouts in Nepal and Sri Lanka. Our 18-month project aims to inspire and engage girls and young women from Asia Pacific with STEM and strengthen the STEM capacity and confidence of adult volunteer Girl Guide and Girl Scout leaders in the region. Through our unique non-formal education methodology, we will give girls and adult volunteer leaders the opportunity to: 

• Gain an understanding and knowledge of STEM. 

• Develop the mindsets and confidence to pursue STEM education and employment opportunities. 

• Explore the barriers that impede girls' and women’s STEM engagement. 

• Develop skills and confidence to pass on their learning to others and advocate for change.

Key Responsibilities: 

You will manage this 18-month project. This will involve setting up the project, working with Nepal Scouts and Sri Lanka Girl Guides Association to deliver a new non-formal education STEM programme resources to Girl Guides and Girl Scouts.

Your main responsibilities:

• Seek and develop Social Enterprise projects in keeping with our values which are financially viable and meet the need of the communities involved.
• Work with Local Councils, Government bodies and other organisations in the regeneration of the high street, finding new shop opportunities, and developing profitable recycling and reuse projects.
• Build links and partnerships with Universities and similar organisations and deliver rummage sales, kilo sales, pop up shops and donation drives.
• Explore opportunities and develop projects that collaborate with like-minded organisations and corporate businesses.
• To contribute, develop, manage, and report on financial budgets, income and costs regularly with a focus on net surplus generation, working closely with the Finance department.

• Excellent and natural networking, influencing and negotiating skills, including the ability to collaborate and build partnerships through the development of contacts with senior external stakeholders
• IT literate with good competence in the use of Microsoft Office

The Fundraising & Communications Officer will play a crucial role in enhancing Restore’s income and engagement. You will communicate with a broad audience and raise funds through corporate and community relationships, and fundraising events. This role will enable Restore to raise funds to run recovery, coaching, and training services, to support better mental health, tell stories of hope and recovery, and increase awareness in the community to equip individuals and organisations with the knowledge and skills to reduce the associated stigma.

Working closely with colleagues across the Income and Engagement team (I&E) Volunteering team, wider teams, and Restore’s partners, this role requires the ability to work independently and as a member of a team. You'll also build strong ongoing relationships with Marie Curie Nurses and Healthcare Assistants, supporting them to demonstrate the impact of our care by appearing in comms campaigns.

We are seeking to appoint a Researcher (Qualitative analysis) to contribute to the design and delivery of research, with a particular focus on gathering and analysing qualitative data. The Researcher will normally be involved with research projects focusing on higher education and/or employment in relation to people from lower socio-economic backgrounds: their access, experiences and progression.

This role is available as at 0.5 Full Time Equivalent (2.5 days per week).

The location is flexible: Bridge Group staff normally work remotely and are currently dispersed across the UK. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Contribute to the design and delivery of research

The Researcher (Qualitative analysis) will contribute to the design and delivery of research relating primarily to qualitative data, working with the Senior Researcher (Qualitative). The Researcher will contribute to a range of processes. While these will vary from project to project, they are likely to include helping to identify and design the most appropriate approach, undertaking preparatory tasks, gathering data through fieldwork and delivering analysis that is equal to the rigour expected of peer-reviewed academic materials.

Research fieldwork will typically include undertaking interviews (usually by video call or telephone, but sometimes in person). The Researcher will code data, conduct thematic analysis and intersect qualitative findings with quantitative findings. They may also contribute to analysing survey responses, in particular to open-ended questions and using NVivo or similar software. The Researcher will undertake this work in strict compliance with the Charity’s policies on data security and confidentiality and research ethics.

The Researcher will be expected to work on several projects concurrently. The Researcher will take a pro-active approach to anticipating risks and intervening early where challenges arise.

2. Collaborate with colleagues

The Researcher will normally work alongside the Senior Researcher (Qualitative), who will typically lead on the qualitative aspect of research projects and will allocate responsibilities to the Researcher. The Researcher will be expected to undertake these with relatively little guidance.

Occasionally, the Researcher might manage small teams of qualitative researchers: allocating interviews; monitoring progress; arranging support and supervision as necessary; and ensuring that team members deliver their respective research tasks to schedule and to a high standard.

The Researcher will work alongside the Senior Researcher (Qualitative) and quantitative researcher colleagues to synthesise qualitative and quantitative findings. They will contribute to discussions of findings with the research team to generate practicable and impactful recommendations to clients and/or stakeholders.

3. Communicate research findings

The Researcher will share their specific outputs with the Senior Researcher and/or other colleagues through concise informal reports. They will contribute verbally to internal meetings to discuss and understand how findings from various strands of research address key research questions; and to develop recommendations. The Researcher may contribute to drafting external reports (or sections of reports), presenting findings in a style accessible to a range of audiences.

4. Operational contributions

There will also be other more operational tasks associated with the role, working in collaboration with colleagues in the Charity. These are likely to include administrative tasks for meetings and events; communications with research participants and stakeholders, including by phone and email; copywriting; and website contributions.

SKILLS, UNDERSTANDING AND EXPERIENCE

We seek candidates with experience of qualitative research (such as designing, undertaking and delivering interviews, and intersecting qualitative findings with quantitative data findings) and a good knowledge of qualitative research methods.

Location - Homebased with travel required across West Midlands, Walsall, Birmingham, West Bromwich, Dudley, Cannock and Rugley.

 The role

As Events Fundraising Officer you will manage and develop Myaware’s events portfolio and support in aid of fundraisers. You will also be responsible for recruiting and managing fundraising volunteers. The purpose of the role is to build long-lasting partnerships with supporters and volunteers to achieve maximum events fundraising income for myaware, driving towards agreed targets. There will be a requirement to manage records and relationships through the CRM system in line with GDPR.

The Events Fundraising Officer will work all Myaware colleagues to deliver agreed fundraising and awareness campaigns. Own transport is essential for this role as occasional travel throughout the UK will be required. There may be the need to occasionally work during weekends and evenings and therefore there is a need to work flexibly when required.

 About you

You will be an experienced Events Fundraiser, with demonstrable experience of income growth. You will be genuinely motivated by making a difference and enjoy working towards agreed ambitious but attainable income targets via the delivery of successful fundraising events. Experience of working with and managing volunteers is essential for this role. We are a looking for an innovative self-starter to join our small national team of 17 staff. You must be well organised and efficient, with IT skills and experience of using a work-related database or CRM system.  Who are we?

Myaware is the only charity in the UK dedicated solely to ensuring all people with myasthenia related conditions can live well, now and in the future.

We are working hard to raise awareness of myasthenia, as it is a little-known condition. We provide support for people with myasthenia and their families, whilst offering advice and tips for living with the condition. 

We also fund the research that brings us closer to finding a cure as well as funding specialists nurses and advisors.

Myaware supports people with myasthenia and their families.  We campaign for better medical services for people with myasthenia and work to inform medical professionals. 

The myasthenias are a group of neuromuscular conditions. They are rare but also manageable and can affect anyone, regardless of age, gender or nationality. Myasthenia gravis, ocular myasthenia and Lambert-Eaton myasthenic syndrome are autoimmune conditions whereas congenital myasthenic syndrome is caused by an inherited genetic fault. It is thought that there are approximately 20,000 people currently living with myasthenia in the UK.

Your role

We are looking for a self-starter who is able to work independently with high level of resilience to lead on CMS’s safeguarding function. You will have experience regarding disclosure and case management of safeguarding and leading a core group. You will work directly with the Director of People and Learning as well as the part-time Strategic Partner Safeguarding Manager on developing safeguarding policies and procedures that will be implemented across the organisation. The post holder’s key responsibilities will be to embed the safeguarding policies and procedures, manage disclosures and casework and deliver training both (UK and internationally).

This role requires experience working in a national and/or international safeguarding role, and experience in an international mission, humanitarian or a transferrable international sector involving different stakeholders, authorities and international strategic partners.

The Fundraising Officer will make a key contribution to the generation of sustainable funding through corporate partnerships, trusts and foundations. The role will support initiatives to increase the organisation’s income by expanding our pool of donors, improving retention of current donors and maximizing fundraising opportunities.

Can you bring your fundraising skills to help us to do more?

Purpose of Role

To support the Head of Fundraising and Head of Trusts to develop and deliver effective income generation and partner relationship management. Collaborating also with the wider WasteAid team to develop quality funding proposals and fundraising assets. To research, explore and initiate new fundraising approaches with potential new funders.

Income Generation

• Support the senior fundraising team to research and develop potential opportunities for maximising income generation
• Support the senior team to identify and secure new supporters/partners and ensure effective engagement with established supporters. This includes:

- Diverse Outreach

- Proposal Development

- Participation in pitch sessions / donor meetings

• Rolling stewardship and relationship management for a number of potential and current donors. Including coordinating staff fundraising /other donor activity and admin to support the partnership

Raising WasteAid’s Profile

• Promote the aims and objectives of WasteAid, increasing public awareness and support
• Ensure project donor partnership plans are in place and implemented in liaison with the project teams and WasteAid’s PR function

Marketing and Communication

• Develop and maintain appropriate fundraising materials to attract donors and support compelling applications for funding
• Work with WasteAid’s PR company to maintain effective communications and good relations with our donors. Ensuring that they are updated on the organisation’s work and achievements with a view to extending and increasing their support where possible
• Utilise and maximise the use of all communication platforms to promote fundraising and the work of WasteAid including social media, local media support and the promotion of third-party led fundraising
• Ensure all communication channels are monitored, including social media comments and inboxes, and any incoming communications and queries dealt with in an appropriate and timely manner

Other

• Analyse, monitor and report on fundraising activity and performance to inform ongoing fundraising planning and improvement

Experience

Abortion Support Network is a largely volunteer-run charity that helps people living in European countries with bad abortion laws and provision access safe abortions in clinics abroad. ASN provides practical information, support, funding, travel and accommodation.

We are looking to recruit a new Managing Director to lead the team. ASN began as a group of activists and a mobile phone, and spent its early years running on passion. While remaining true to it’s radical roots, ASN are navigating the realities of building a sustainable organisation which offers the best possible experience for our clients, staff, volunteers and supporters. To do this, we need a strategic thinker who has experience leading a team and works pragmatically to get things done. 

Reporting to the Board of Trustees, you will have complete oversight of ASN, from service delivery to IT system procurement. We don’t expect anyone to be an expert on every part of ASN’s work, but we’re looking for someone with robust relevant experience who is willing to learn from our incredible team.
