Catching Lives will support you to join the Level Three Fundraiser Apprenticeship at the University of Kent and provide day study release during the programme, which is mostly taught online. The role requires strong communication and organisational skills. Here at Brain Tumour Research, we are looking for a Volunteer and Member Charity Coordinator who can manage all elements of volunteering and our member charities including recruitment, awareness raising and stewarding for Brain Tumour Research. A Volunteer and Member Charity Coordinator is key to monitoring evaluating and encouraging volunteers whilst working with the Community Fundraising team to ensure events run smoothly by making sure we have enough volunteers to meet our resource needs.

This role is part of the Wiltshire Adult Domestic Abuse Team, which provides support to people and their families who have been impacted by domestic abuse.

Working within the team, you will work directly with victims of domestic abuse, providing them with support and educational sessions to increase their safety and the safety of any of their children.

Offering support to standard to medium risk victims of domestic abuse, key tasks will include:

• To provide high quality, person centred, trauma informed support to people impacted by domestic abuse.
• Being part of a team providing a whole family approach.
• Support people to increase their personal safety.
• Support people’s personal empowerment to take control of their lives.
• Undertaking risk assessments and collaboratively developing safety plans.
• Give practical and emotional support to families who are experiencing domestic abuse in the community.
• Deliver and facilitate groups for people impacted by domestic abuse, including the Inspiring Families Course (including evening delivery where required).

You will work closely with Children’s Social Care, offering professional consultation regarding domestic abuse cases and attending team meetings where required. You will work closely with local Social Workers to increase the safety and stabilisation of people, by offering specialist domestic abuse educational sessions to the non-abusing parent, either in a one-to-one or group setting.

Key responsibilities:

• Provide a high-quality, person centred, trauma informed service and empowerment to those who need it.
• Manage a caseload of standard to medium risk cases, providing virtual and face to face support.
• Complete an initial assessment of individuals’ and families' needs with corresponding support plans to meet these needs so, preventing escalation of difficulties.
• Triage new referrals, ensuring comprehensive safety and safeguarding advice and guidance on initial contact.
• Undertake regular caseload review meetings with individuals and families during home and community visits to ensure they are fully supported to meet their personal goals.
• Be responsible for running groups, adhering to a clear manual and supporting second facilitators.
• Complete pre and post group assessments.
• Attend regular meetings with Children’s Social Care and offer professional consultation to Social Workers regarding cases involving domestic abuse.

• Ensure personal safety and that of service users and other staff at all times.

• Enable service users to participate in the design, delivery and evaluation of services.
• Utilise evaluation and monitoring systems to ensure high standards of service are consistently achieved e.g. Insights and Orchards Database.
• Assist clients in attending legal and other appointments where necessary.
• Ensure support provided is accessible to clients in terms of location and times.
• Facilitate and deliver group work to people impacted by domestic abuse, including evening groups on a rota basis.

General Responsibilities:

• Remain up to date and concordant with organisational procedures, policies and professional code of conduct, upholding standards of best practice.

INTRODUCTION

St George’s Hospital Charity oversees over 220 Special Purpose Funds (SPFs) with a total value of over £4.5m. These funds hold donor-gifted and community-fundraised income, each with a specific purpose to support a particular ward, department, area of research or group of staff or patients. Every SPF has designated Fund Advisers, who are St George’s University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (the Trust) and/or St George’s University staff members with delegated authority to review and authorise expenditure approvals and applications for funding. There are over 500 Fund Advisers who need effective stewardship as significant stakeholders. 

ROLE PURPOSE

To manage the finance function of the charity and provide excellent finance support for the Senior Executive which will include:

• Maintaining a robust financial control framework and providing high quality timely financial management information to ensure effective decision making.
• Preparing annual financial statements and supporting an efficient external audit process.
• Supporting the annual budget setting and quarterly forecasting processes
• Leading on continuous finance process improvement and finance training for SGHC staff. MAIN

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Staff management

1.1. Carry out all line management duties in line with organisational policy and procedure, including:

• Diversity and inclusion - encouraging an inclusive environment.
• Recruiting and inducting good quality staff
• Proactively addressing performance, conduct or other employee relations issues.
• Support and coach your direct report to ensure objectives and development goals are achieved.

2. Management of Income and Payments Processing Operations

2.1. Responsible for ensuring that all fundraising and investment income is accurately recorded in the finance system.

2.2. Ensure the reconciliation of all income data from the bank against Raiser’s Edge (CRM system) to ensure data is accurate and complete and then recorded in the finance system once reconciled.

2.3. Manage an efficient and effective Accounts Payable function, ensuring that the work performed by the Senior Finance Assistant is at the required standard.

2.4. Lead on all communications with internal stakeholders, including Trust finance and Special Purpose Fund Advisers, to resolve any issues arising and produce monitoring reports on a regular basis.

3. Transactional accounting and fund management

3.1. Ensure systems are in place to identify and correctly record restricted donations, so that these are properly monitored and utilised.

4. Financial Control Framework

4.1. In consultation with the Director of Finance & Operations, ensure that appropriate controls, processes and procedures are in place, regularly reviewed and assessed for operational effectiveness.

4.2. Review and update Finance Procedures and effectively communicate these to staff, arranging training where necessary, within the Finance Department and across the Charity.

4.3. Ensure effective maintenance of the balance sheet, including regular key control account reconciliations (bank and other).

4.4. Monitoring of balances with the Trust, ensuring these are promptly settled, with discrepancies investigated and resolved.

5. Management Reporting

5.1. Delivery of timely and accurate monthly management accounts for the Charity, including enhancing the production process and communication of timetables.

5.2. Co-ordinate the production of narrative reports to support review by the Director of Finance & Operations.

6. Financial reporting and audit

6.1. Lead the Finance team in the production of financial statements which are fully compliant with the Charity SORP to meet required audit and Board approval deadlines.

6.2. Lead the relationship with external auditors and all arrangements surrounding the annual audit fieldwork.

7. Budgeting and Forecasting

7.1. Assist the Director of Finance & Operations in the production of annual budgets, working closely with budget holders within the Charity to ensure completed in accordance with agreed timescales.

7.2. Lead on the quarterly re-forecast process, producing relevant analyses to understand and monitor key changes.

8. Banking and Investments

8.1. Work alongside the Director of Finance & Operations to maintain a strong relationship with the Charity’s banking and investment managers and take the lead on the day to day administration of the banking arrangements.

8.2. Ensure that bank mandates are up to date.

9. Systems and Data

9.1. Finance system

• Liaise with Application’s Supplier and Trust Systems support team in the maintenance and development of the finance system, ensuring essential maintenance are carried out as necessary to prevent cyber fraud and maintain data integrity.
• Provide support to the Finance team for the accounting functionality within the finance accounting application and its integrated systems.

9.2. System maintenance and training

• Support the Director of Finance and Operations with managing user access, permissions and privileges on the finance system, ensuring that any changes to staff are reflected immediately.
• Ensure all new staff are trained on the Finance System and that current staff receive updates as necessary. Any other duties commensurate with the post as requested by the Director of Finance & Operations

FearFree delivers services across the South West for victims and perpetrators of domestic abuse and victims of sexual violence. We provide responsive, victim focused, and trauma informed support and this post will be fundamental to ensuring service users, stakeholders and partners experience this in our daily delivery.

Following a successful trial in several surgeries, the Interpersonal Trauma Response Service (ITRS) is now being rolled out across Devon, Plymouth and Torbay.  This makes it a very exciting opportunity to take ownership and be part of an innovative new service, delivering real improvements to the local community.

The aim of the ITRS is to improve the health, wellbeing and safety of people who have been exposed to trauma arising from sexual violence and abuse and/or domestic abuse. We provide adults whose health is being negatively impacted by interpersonal trauma with appropriate support. We also provide support to children affected by domestic abuse, and provide people who are using abusive behaviours with appropriate support and interventions.

Your team will provide appropriate training to GP surgeries to improve identification, enquiry and response for patients. The Specialist Children and Young People’s Advisor will work within a multi-agency system to provide trauma informed, proactive, person-centered service for children and young people and their families who have experienced domestic abuse, empowering choice through informed decision making.

Our Interpersonal Trauma Response Service brings together dynamic, passionate and committed individuals who share a common focus on delivering high quality, person-centered and trauma informed support to patient’s referred by partner GP Surgeries across Devon. The team have a responsibility to work with multi-agency partners, building awareness and understanding of domestic abuse.

This is a fixed term role for 12 months.

Key elements of the role include:

· Providing high-quality practical and emotional support and outreach to children and young people who have experienced domestic abuse

· Risk assessing and helping to keep children and young people safe through safety planning

· Ensuring the voice children and young people informs every stage of our support provision

· Delivering educational, time-bound, sessions

· Enabling children and young people to access statutory and other services where appropriate

· Engaging with and supporting the MARAC and MASH process, to ensure that the voice of victims is heard

· Supporting in-house training & refresher training for general practice teams on understanding, recognising and responding to domestic violence and abuse (DVA) and sexual violence (SV).

· To provide ongoing specialist advice and support around DVA and SV to practice teams.

· To encourage general practice health professionals to ask patients about their experience of abuse and respond, record, safety check and refer.

· Manage a caseload and working proactively to support young people and their families

· Facilitating early intervention

· Raising awareness of children and young people’s needs who have been impacted by domestic abuse

· Working with multi-agency partners and the wider FearFree service provision

Key responsibilities:

· Provide a high-quality, person centred, trauma informed service and empowerment to children and young people (CYP), ages 5-18, who have experienced domestic abuse.

· Effectively manage a caseload of CYP clients.

· Completing initial assessments of CYP’s needs.

· Collaboratively develop support plans with CYP to meet their needs.

· Assess and managing risks to services users, colleagues, and self.

· Work with multi-agency partners to meet service users’ needs.

· Have an understanding of multi-agency partners services.

· Work with schools and education establishments to ensure support offered is appropriate, planned and coordinated.

· Uphold, promote and work within safeguarding principles and practice.

· Support CYP to develop an increased understanding of the impact of their experiences. relating to domestic abuse and their awareness of what constitutes a ‘healthy relationship’.

· Respond to crises with a focus on CYP’s wellbeing and safeguarding.

· Support the development of self-awareness, confidence and participation of CYP.

· Support CYP’s participation in the design, delivery, and evaluation of services.

· Ensure resources and services meet CYP’s specific needs.

· Support the development of services and resources.

· To understand and work effectively within a multi-agency framework, consisting of the MARAC and local partnership responses to domestic abuse, in order to reduce the risk for service users and their families.

· Empower service users to make decisions about their life through advocacy and providing information.

· To recognise, respect and address the needs of service users who face barriers when seeking help to access the service, including those from different ethnic and cultural backgrounds, LGBT communities, disabled people, those with complex needs and other groups which services have found difficult to reach.

· Accompany service users, when needed, to other relevant agencies and support them in their interactions with these agencies.

· To work alongside colleagues to deliver a whole family approach, including colleagues in other teams and locations.

· Be proactive with your line manager to carry out periodic case reviews.

· Help maintain accurate and confidential case management records and contribute to monitoring information for the service.

·Attend children’s social care meetings as required, including Child Protection Conferences, Core Groups, Team Around the Family and Strategy Discussions. 

Practice-based work:

· Support  the delivery of DA/SV training to clinicians and non-clinical staff in participating general practices.

We are looking for a well-organised, highly motivated and passionate individual to join our team as a full-time Youth Worker (Youth Voice), supporting our mission to enable young people who are homeless, facing homelessness or unsafe to achieve independence and positive futures.
The successful candidate will work within the Youth Work Team to deliver our frontline drop-in service and support our weekly and monthly activities to all young people experiencing homelessness.
You’ll specialise in ensuring a diverse range of young people’s voices are heard, facilitating inclusive activities which increase youth participation across all our services and leading on the delivery of our youth forums. We have an ambitious plan to improve and accelerate our youth voice strategy and this role will be at the heart of this delivery.
You should be experienced in designing, planning and facilitating a range of activities and group work with and for young people and be able to work dynamically in a fast-paced day centre environment. We are looking for a high-calibre candidate to take on the fixed-term role of Head of Programme Delivery and Operations (North of England and East Midlands) for our centres in North West England, Nottingham and Peterborough, West Yorkshire and East Yorkshire and the Humber. You will line manage the Regional Operations Managers in your regions to ensure that centres are working effectively, that the high quality of programme delivery to young people is maintained across the cluster, and that targets are monitored and met. And of course, you will need to have a genuine passion and enthusiasm for working with young people and helping them achieve their ambitions.

Arts Emergency has been supporting young people through its mentoring programme since 2011. During this time, we’ve seen a huge community of mentors from across the UK’s creative industries come together to support nearly 2,000 underrepresented young people to pursue higher education, creativity and careers.

As the Merseyside Mentoring Officer, you will work to recruit, match and support mentoring pairs across Merseyside. This is a busy, fun, and super rewarding role where you’ll get to work independently while being supported by the Mentoring Manager, your Mentoring team colleagues, and the wider Arts Emergency team around the country.

Key Tasks

• Recruit and maintain a network of volunteer mentors, in collaboration with the wider Mentoring and Arts Emergency team
• Organise mentor training events and carry out necessary safeguarding measures, including enhanced checks with the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) for volunteers  
• Promote the mentoring programme with schools, colleges, and other referral partners  
• Manage existing relationships and develop new ones with schools, colleges, and other referral partners
• Manage application and onboarding processes effectively
• Ensure the best possible mentor matches for young people and provide high-quality support throughout their mentoring relationship
• Monitor the programme and share updates proactively with the Mentoring Manager, including reviewing and responding to mentor reports
• Curate monthly newsletters, sharing opportunities with Merseyside-based mentees  

The role can be home or office based, or hybrid. Arts Emergency’s head office is in London and Manchester. We also have access to Spaces offices around the country which can be used by all staff if an office space is needed outside these areas - including a co-working space off Wood Street in Liverpool city centre. Regular travel across Merseyside is essential as part of programme delivery.

Women and Girls Network (WGN) was established in 1987 and has spent over 30 years supporting women and girls across London affected by gendered violence. This includes childhood sexual abuse, domestic violence, rape, prostitution (including trafficking and sexual exploitation), female genital mutilation (FGM), and so-called 'honour' based crimes such as forced marriage.

This role is home-based but requires extensive travel within the area. It can be either full or part time.

As a Community-based Energy Adviser, you will focus on supporting and educating individuals and families who face barriers to accessing energy services and may be in fuel poverty. You will be working with people in their homes or advising them at events in their local community. You will support them through the process of managing and reducing debt, accessing funding and engaging with smart technology.

You will give at-risk consumers the knowledge and confidence to be more engaged in their energy use and able to make sound decisions to manage it — ultimately putting money back in their pockets and improving their resilience and wellbeing. Overview

The Green Team was founded in 1995 to support young people to succeed in achieving the Duke of Edinburgh award. Since then, the team has grown significantly and now offers nine programmes along with corporate volunteering days and holiday activities. From one member of staff and a few volunteers, we now have 10 staff and over 50 volunteers.

The growth of the team since 1995 has been primarily driven by our current CEO, Penny Radway. The size of the organisation and number of programmes run mean that we believe the time is right to introduce a dual CEO approach. Penny will focus on CEO responsibilities for delivering our programmes.

The role

To co-lead the charity promoting the mission, aims, values and objectives, be directly responsible for specific agreed areas of the charity’s corporate operations while overseeing and ensuring the success of these operations. To increase income generation, specifically unrestricted funds, enhance existing financial controls, and impact reporting. To also ensure there are clear and impactful communications, partnerships and marketing approaches for the development of the Green Team.

Work in partnership with the Co-CEO Programmes to advise the Trustees on the strategic direction of the organisation and to implement Board decisions. To ensure the sustainability of the Green Team, with a focus on increasing unrestricted funds to achieve longevity of the organisation.
