RSTMH is a global society of over 2,000 members and Fellows based in more than 100 countries, run by a small and efficient team based in London. This is a permanent role which could be part-time (at least 3 days per week) or full-time and will help improve efficiencies and planning across the society.
In this new role you would have oversight of the charity governance administration and help develop and deliver planning systems to increase efficiencies across all activities.This role would also provide administrative and project-based support to the CEO and Senior Manager and support the day-to-day effectiveness of the operations of the society.
The role is wide ranging and is an opportunity for someone to shape the society’s processes and systems to improve efficiencies. The key skills needed for the role include excellent time management, communication, and the ability to influence others. You will be able to take on board and understand large amounts of information, and translate this into effective systems. You will have experience of developing evidence-based systems and processes and
This role will report to the CEO and is full time and office based, with a current trial for Mondays working at home.
Key responsibilities
- Oversee the governance administration of the society including for the Board, Committees and strategy meetings and communications
- Develop and deliver effective planning systems for the society across all activities
- Develop and deliver systems to improve efficiencies in managing relations with the society’s networks of volunteers and other stakeholder groups
- Support the CEO and Senior Manager, Team and Operations to develop and deliver processes to improve the operations of the society
- Develop a good understanding of the society’s use of Civi CRM and other platforms to help develop processes and systems to improve integrations and efficiencies
- Provide training to members of the RSTMH team on new systems and processes

About the Team
Our Legal team is based around England and is made up of over 100 people, delivering housing advice and litigation services for our clients. Working closely with other teams in Shelter Services, we take referrals from them including certified litigation work, controlled work and Housing Possession Court Duty Schemes.
Shelter Merseyside has been providing housing advice and support services to local people for over 20 years, helping those facing bad housing and homelessness. The Hub work in partnership with a range of organisations to improve the underlying systems that prevent people from living securely in suitable, safe, affordable accommodation. You will be working alongside the Housing Rights Workers, Management and Administration teams, Community Organising and Lived Experience Teams to bring about systemic change locally.
About the Role
This is a great chance to help us ensure we provide our clients with a full service. You will assist our solicitors to maintain an active caseload to enable homeless people, as well as those with housing and related problems, to enforce their rights. Your role will be varied and will include taking instructions and witness statements, drafting letters, making applications, providing court representation. You will also ensure time recording and income targets are met.

About you
You will need a sound understanding of litigation work and be able to carry out legal research, with the ability to provide a good standard of professional service and client care. What's more, you will have excellent communication skills - having taken the facts into account, you are able to communicate your thoughts clearly both in writing and face-to-face. Housing law experience and Legal Aid/ CCMS would be an advantage. Proficiency using case management systems, and time recording will be needed, as well as the ability to manage your time and workload.

Homemaker Southwest provides independent advice and support to people who require help in finding, setting up or maintaining accommodation throughout Devon.
As a Money Advice Caseworker, you will be responsible for delivering high quality support services to clients across Devon, by telephone and face-to face, to sustain tenancies and prevent eviction wherever possible, with due regard to Homemaker’s policies and procedures.
You will have experience providing money advice to individuals at risk of homelessness and contemporary knowledge of debt solutions and welfare benefits.
Important qualities include strong communication skills, the ability to work independently and empower others, and the capacity to simplify complex information for clients. While most appointments will be conducted over the phone, some clients will require in-home visits, so the job demands flexibility to travel and work from different locations, necessitating the use of a personal vehicle
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Work with clients
- Ensure that clients receive a prompt and professional service.
- Provide advice and assistance through a range of channels: face-to-face, by phone, or by email. Seeing clients in office and at outreach locations and visiting clients in their own homes as required.
- Receive and respond to referrals from identified agencies in accordance with prevailing guidelines/funding.
- Provide support to clients including preparing accurate financial statements, budgeting advice, progression of debt options, advising on court proceedings for debt recovery and repossessions, and income maximisation to ensure take up of benefits and options such as backdating, overpayment and sanction challenges, appeals and representation if required.
- Keep the client at the centre of every case; check the client’s understanding and communication needs, agree on an action plan with clarity on who is doing what, encourage the client to be involved with actions as appropriate, keep the client informed of progress of case, and ensure cases are concluded in a positive way.
- Communicate and negotiate on clients’ behalf with third parties as appropriate.
- Give support in the sustainment of any tenancy, as appropriate.
- Ensure clients understand the terms of any tenancy or other legal obligation entered, or about to be entered into.
- Take a holistic approach to issues presented and signpost/refer to other services to help ensure that the advice and other support needs of the client are addressed appropriately.
- ·Ensure clients are encouraged to give feedback on the service they receive and take on any comments on ways we could improve the service.
Networking/Partnership
- Work closely with partner agencies

Administration

Join Public Law Project (PLP) and you’ll be playing a key role in the team that’s currently running the main challenge to the Rwanda policy. PLP’s casework team has successfully challenged the prorogation of Parliament, helped survivors whose assets are controlled by their abuser to access legal aid, and put a stop to the no-notice removal policy affecting people claiming asylum.
You will be supervised by one of our Lead Lawyers, and have the opportunity to collaborate closely with the whole team. The PLP team is friendly, diverse, and inclusive, and you’ll be supported and encouraged to develop your skills as a public law caseworker. This is a fee-earning role, and so is suitable for candidates looking to develop their career.
You’ll play a crucial supporting role in our casework, taking instructions from clients, drafting correspondence, statements, and instructions, and managing legal aid applications. You’ll perform administrative tasks and be a first point of contact at PLP for prospective clients via phone and email. You’ll be part of a variety of public law cases in PLP’s priority areas – this includes working on immigration, welfare, constitutional, and AI cases.

We are looking for an intern to join the Global Selection Programme (GSP) team on a fixed term three month contract. As the Global Selection Programme Intern, you will be line managed by the GSP Coordinator to help you integrate and collaborate with the Programmes Team and with other key stakeholders. The post holder will play an important role in driving improvements to one of UWC’s key application programmes as it prepares for the 2025/26 academic year.

About UWC International
The UWC International Office serves as the operational arm of UWC International, a UK-registered and Germany-registered charity, and stands as a pivotal entity within the UWC movement. Positioned in central London and Berlin, it collaborates extensively with stakeholders across the UWC spectrum, actively engages a robust alumni community comprising more than 60,000 members, and fulfils essential functions for UWC International's governance bodies. Our primary duties encompass global fundraising initiatives, comprehensive communications strategies, promotional endeavours, support for the network of over 150 UWC national committees, global strategy development and implementation, and support services to the UWC schools.
The UWCIO Programmes team works with UWC schools and colleges and with national committees to enable as many deserving young people as possible to experience a UWC education, collaborating closely with them to build their capacity where necessary and implement new processes, policies and programmes where possible.
The Global Selection Programme is available to young people aged 15 to 18 from around the world, so long as they do not require any financial support to attend UWC. It is an annual programme that usually accepts applications from September to May for admission in the following academic year. IDPE is a membership organisation, supporting fundraising and engagement professionals in schools. We pride ourselves on having a thriving and engaged community and, as membership manager, you will play a pivotal role in supporting and expanding our community. This is a relationship management role which requires an engaging, enthusiastic and passionate communicator able to build relationships at all levels, listen to the needs of members and work across the business to ensure these needs are being met.
Key Responsibilities:
Member engagement
- Together with the membership administrator, you will be a primary point of contact for members across the UK and internationally
- Member satisfaction is our highest priority, and you will be speaking to members daily, monitoring forum discussions, identifying key discussion themes at meetings and working with internal staff to ensure IDPE continues to meet the needs of its members
- You’ll get to know members personally and will be able to understand their challenges and areas of interest, signposting them to relevant services and resources. You will also identify potential gaps in our services and will work across the business to ensure we meet the needs of all members
- An analytical approach to member engagement is required as you will be responsible for the analysis and interpretation of engagement data, using this to develop an engagement strategy and encourage member participation
Member acquisition
- You will work with the CEO on developing and managing the member acquisition strategy and pipeline, researching prospective members, and managing the relationship through to membership
- You may be asked to represent IDPE at external events or conferences, identifying and connecting with prospective members
- You will work with marketing to communicate member benefits to prospective schools
- Together with the membership administrator you will manage the new member onboarding process, conducting welcome calls and initiating regular follow-ups to ensure new members are engaged and knowledgeable about our services
IDPE’s member acquisition strategy is based on relationships. We do not cold call or hard sell but build on introductions and approaches from schools interested in joining.
Volunteer stewardship
- You will be responsible for building and managing a nationwide network of volunteers, encouraging their involvement in the member engagement and acquisition process
- IDPE hosts 12 regional meetings and specialist forums, across the UK each term. You will be responsible for ensuring these happen, working with volunteers to create relevant and engaging agendas and chairing meetings when required
- You will manage the volunteer recruitment, onboarding and engagement process
Membership strategy
- Membership strategy is led by the CEO but, as membership engagement manager, you will be instrumental in influencing this and will lead its delivery. You will also support the CEO in a wide range of membership activities and projects
- You will be an ambassador for IDPE, representing the charity at internal and external events, chairing webinars and over time will become a subject matter expert on IDPE’s membership
- Your analytical approach will enable you to report on trends, behaviours and challenges, providing data to support your narrative. You will also work closely with the Finance Director to set and monitor membership targets
- You will be responsible for writing membership communications and for ensuring the membership content on the website remains current
- You will be responsible for leading key membership projects

We are looking for an experienced professional to take a key role in our grant-making team as our second grants officer. You will be comfortable analysing applications for funding and making informed recommendations, as well as a highly competent database user, comfortable with “super user” responsibilities. In addition, you will take a lead on data – reporting on, representing and interrogating our grant-making data. - Participation in meetings with visiting staff and ensuring they get maximum value from the Jamie’s Farm experience - Monmouth ‘Cultivating Change’ Lead and Monmouth ‘Legacy’ Lead (coordinating the follow-up process effectively)
- Being responsible for coordinating regular and weekly volunteers at the Monmouth site
- Providing information and media to HQ to support Jamie’s Farm’s marketing and communications

About the role
The role will support the Communications and Content team to deliver a wide range of projects, working closely with colleagues across the organisation. You will be responsible for managing and organising our libraries of videos and images, and creating improvements in our systems, to be easily accessible to colleagues. You will provide administrative support for content collection, to support the team to research, gather and shape the content needed for organisational communications needs, such as key moment appeals, emergencies and strategic communications.
