Hours: Full time
Salary: £45,833 (Band 6.1) per annum - Spot Grade

Our client recognisea that they still have much to learn, in a world where many still struggle for racial justice. They are committed to advancing this cause, grounded in their Christian calling to promote equality, unity, and inclusion and tackle racism. 

They have recently been awarded funding from the Racial Justice Unit to enable them to:

  • roll out their Shades diversity and anti-racism programme for young people in their schools and parishes across the diocese.
  • provide direct support for their Global Majority Heritage congregations.
  • focus on development and training for their clergy and lay leaders, enabling their parishes to welcome people from all backgrounds.
  • award grants for innovative local parish projects.


As well as having oversight of this exciting programme, the Racial Justice Programme Lead  will engage with lay and ordained leaders across their organisation to ensure that they prioritise their work on racial justice and anti-racism. They will work with others to enable them to become a diocese which fully welcomes, support and embraces people from global majority heritage backgrounds and ensure that creative and inspiring approaches to achieving racial justice from across the diocese and the wider Church are promoted and built on.

There is an Occupational Requirement for the post-holder to be a practising Christian, in accordance with Schedule 9 of the Equality Act 2010.
