Due to project expansion, Aquarius Young People’s Substance misuse team are recruiting for several Young People’s Practitioners across the county.

Aquarius has been providing structured and targeted interventions to young people engaging in, at risk of substance misuse or affected by parental substance misuse for many years.

The post holder will work on an outreach basis, including visiting schools, colleges & universities, places of worship, youth service provisions & local community venues. Raising the profile of substance misuse services available to young people and also providing young people with that first point of contact providing advice and further direction into accessing the right support, particularly targeting outreach to engage 'difficult -to-reach' young people.

Holding relevant experience with skills or qualifications in either substance misuse/youth work/psychology/counselling/ mental health/social care you will also:

• Have experience of working with at risk/vulnerable people in a community setting
• Be able to deliver group work
• Be knowledgeable about: safeguarding children, confidentiality, consent and mental capacity and Hidden Harm

Manchester Mind is looking to recruit a full-time (35 hours) Community Engagement Worker. The role will involve working in a collaborative and person-centred way across Primary Care in Manchester, Bolton, Salford, Wigan and Trafford, with people who have lived experience of mental health problems in order to promote take up of annual health checks and to improve physical health.

We would like to work with people who are experienced, dynamic and passionate about being able to develop and deliver accessible mental health support services.

The Director of People and Operations will be at the forefront of implementing our commitment to excellence as we grow. Hidden Harm and Family Support Practitioner sitting in our Community Hidden Harm Awareness Team (CHHAT) (Essex)

We are looking for an experienced young people's practitioner. You will be confident in your work with young people and join our dynamic, ambitious team.

CHHAT provides a programme of targeted support services to identified, young people/young carers. The CHHAT practitioner will provide support to, and improve the physical, mental and emotional wellbeing of young carers and their family network. You will address a number of target areas for children/young people who are caring for/affected by parental/familial substance misuse and mental health.

Our engagement with young carers covers early to high intervention needs. We also support cases of historical parental substance use, where the young carer may, or may not still be residing with their parent, but continues to be affected by the experience.

In order to be successful with this role, you will need to be able to demonstrate that you have extensive experience of: -

Delivering direct interventions with vulnerable young people (8-25) on both a one to one and group work capacity. As well as working to support the family network.

Co-producing care and safety plans with young people that are young people led, focusing on both a relational & strength-based approach.

Extensive partnership working in a multi-agency environment to ensure that the needs and wishes of the young person are heard and acted upon.

You will work as part of a team and need to be able to work in a flexible way which includes flexing their day and work location as need indicates, including being based in the locality office in Chelmsford and working in the home environment to increase convenience and accessibility

You will need to demonstrate that you have:

-A relevant professional qualification working with vulnerable children and families is desired e.g., Diploma/degree in social work, counselling qualification, professional youth worker or related NVQ or degree. Or Substantial relevant experience of working with vulnerable young people facing significant challenges within this sector.

-Substantial experience of working with vulnerable young people and families that are hard to reach and from diverse backgrounds on both a one-to-one basis and through group work interventions.

-Experience of supporting adolescents who are dealing with complex and sensitive issues through offering advice and advocacy.

-Experience of partnership and multi-agency working.

-Experience of working on one's own and within a team.

-Experience of using IT based case management systems.

Apart of Me stands with young people all over the world who experience loss, and have limited access to support services; we do that through our unique design-led approach to innovation.

Our journey began 10 years ago when our founder, Louis Weinstock, recognised an urgent need for accessible, early intervention support for grieving young people. Since then, Apart of Me has grown into a multi-award-winning charity, making a tangible difference in the lives of vulnerable young people.

Our first service, the therapeutic mobile game 'Apart of Me,' guides young people through grief, with over 125,000 users since its launch. It has won numerous awards, including NHS App of the Month, and has been proven to help users understand their feelings, and feel calmer and less alone.

THE ROLE

As our first Fundraising Manager, you’ll have the opportunity to shape our fundraising strategy, with a particular emphasis on creativity and innovation. You’ll help us nurture our current donors and find creative ways to generate income from diverse revenue streams, so we can can continue to innovate as we develop our vital support to young people and grow our impact.

HOW CAN YOU HELP APART OF ME?

• Develop and regularly refresh our fundraising strategy and roadmap.
• Identify and nuture potential new partnerships and funding opportunities, building and implementing our corporate partnership strategy.

Wellbeing Support in the Community

• Assessing the needs and strengths of the referred young person and help them identify individual goals to achieve desired change.

Wellbeing Support in Schools

Our work in schools is varied and you may be expected to:

• Conduct one-to-one sessions to listen to, analyse and respond to the physical, intellectual, emotional, social and spiritual needs of young people.
• Manage, monitor and evaluate caseloads within your allocated school as part of the one-to-one support sessions.
• Develop and run a variety of contact points and projects for young people across the school, including group sessions and drop-ins and after school projects.
• Build good working relationships with school staff and other relevant local services.

Community Youth Work Community

Youth Work takes many forms and while the actual work is subject to change according to the current needs of young people or Matrix, it may include:

• Detached youth work.
• Running/assisting with after-school and/or holiday clubs.
• Mentoring young people.
• Supporting young people in a social enterprise environment.
• Research of young people’s needs in the local community.

Youth Café

The Youth Café is our flagship project and is a fun open access drop-in run by our team after school at our social enterprise café - The Hideaway. As a Community Wellbeing Practitioner some of your time may be spent assisting the Community Youth Work Team in delivering this project and it may include:

• Helping to create a safe, fun and inspiring environment for the young people that attend.
• Planning, preparing and delivering quality youth sessions/workshops.
• Building healthy relationships with young people that attend the sessions, identifying and responding to the needs that may arise.
• Promoting the activities of the Youth Café in the community.

General

• Contribute to, and be involved in fundraising and other activities that benefit Matrix, including whole staff retreat days, fundraising activities and outreach/networking events.
• During school holidays and after school, be involved in projects organised and run by Matrix, including holiday and after-school clubs within your allocated hours and as agreed by your line manager.

AllChild (formally West London Zone)  is a non-profit organisation that proactively works with children and their families to flourish socially, emotionally and academically through our tailored Impact Programme.

Working with schools, we identify and support children and young people before the need for crisis intervention, connecting them to the help they need through our trusted adult, the Link Worker.

Our Associate Link Worker/Link Worker is based in the school with the children and young people they are working with on our programme. They work directly with the children, their families, their teachers and our partners to design and facilitate a two-year Impact Programme of support and champion the children and young people along the way.

Since our launch in 2016, our Impact Programme has helped thousands of children and young people at the tipping point of need. 75% are no longer at risk in their emotional and mental wellbeing, two thirds improved their grades, and 90% of schools renew after the first programme, noting ‘transformational or significant positive impact’ for the children and the wider school environment.

Centrepoint, the UK’s leading youth homelessness charity, is looking for a Senior Supporter Engagement Officer – Mid-value to join our vibrant and successful Individual Giving team based in Aldgate, London.

We help vulnerable young people by giving them the practical and emotional support they need to find a job and live independently. Centrepoint provides homeless young people with accommodation, health support and life skills in order to get them back into education, training and employment. We want to end youth homelessness by 2037.

In this key role, you will play an integral part in the Individual Giving team, helping to meet their target of raising over £24million from supporters in FY 2024/25.

What you’ll be doing

• Report to the Senior Supporter Engagement Manager, and lead on the Mid-value programme.
• Manage relationships with Mid-value donors typically giving £1,000 - £5,000 a year. Cultivate, steward and solicit donations, and grow year-on-year income from this valued group of supporters.
• Develop and implement a communications plan for Mid-value donors, including programme proposals, targeted appeals, inspiring updates and impact reports, as well as collaborating on supporter events and online webinars. 
• Drive forward stewardship journeys to deepen supporter engagement, understand motivations for giving, build long-term relationships and increase lifetime value.

Centre 33 is looking to recruit an experienced Receptionist with strong administrative skills, significant experience of handling a busy reception and effective communication and organisational skills. An empathetic, non-judgemental and welcoming disposition is essential to this post.

Your role will be to respond to all incoming communications and enquiries from young people seeking support as well as their families and carers, and professionals from external agencies. You will be working within one of our Drop in settings and helping to manage a busy waiting room as well as handling confidential communications coming via the phone, email, SMS and social media.

You will be part of a wider team providing an open access 'one stop shop' offering information and on-going support to young people (aged 13-25), about how to make informed choices about their emotional wellbeing, work, education & finances. So young people need you to be welcoming, supportive and able to work in a confidential way.

You will have wide-ranging and demonstrable experience of working within a busy office and handling sensitive information. You will be integral to connecting our Support Workers to the young people seeking help. You will keep them up to date of all communication and help them to respond to young people trying to access services, often reaching out for the first time. You will also help to make sure our amazing Drop in volunteers are supported and tasked with jobs for the day. Administrative duties will include updating databases, running data reports for the service managers and ensuring the team have all the necessary documents to provide an efficient service. You will help the team to send confidential documents to young people and those supporting them. You will be liaising with medical professionals and representatives from partner agencies so you will also have excellent business communication skills.

Your main base will be Cambridge but you will work alongside colleagues working from all our hubs across Cambridgeshire and Peterborough.

Our charity, the Jon Egging Trust, is looking for a highly motivated individual with experience of working with young people to manage our Youth Programmes in North Wales. Previous management experience would be beneficial, but not essential if you can demonstrate that you have the key skills required for the position. The role will be responsible for maintaining and creating new relationships with school staff, local partners (including the RAF and corporates) and volunteers to ensure programmes meet the needs of our young people. There will be a requirement for some session delivery in schools or at our partner sites. Working closely with the Area Director West, the post holder will be forward thinking and help to grow JET’s presence locally whilst identifying new opportunities.   

The post holder will be based from home with a requirement to travel to schools, businesses and RAF bases within North Wales (predominantly A55 corridor - current schools are on Anglesey but potentially looking to expand to Rhyl and Llandudno / Bangor). Fuel expenses are paid and travel time is included as part of working hours. Core delivery time is usually within the school working day and during school terms only. All other working hours can be managed with flexibility by the post holder to ensure that meetings with partners and colleagues, plus administrative tasks, are completed as required. You will be expected to work at least four days a week.
