SWEDA is growing fast. Since the pandemic, the number of children, young people and adults who need our support has grown exponentially. An estimated 1.25m people in the UK have an eating disorder, and an NHS mental health questionnaire in 2023 found that 59.4% of 17-19 year olds ‘screened positive’ for having eating problems.

We have responded by expanding geographically (into Bristol and South Gloucestershire and Oxfordshire), developing our children and young people’s services and investing in the development of a fundraising team. Our Head of Fundraising has been in post for just over a year and our Fundraising & Communications Officer joined in January 2024. Now we need a Fundraising Manager to help us develop and grow our community fundraising to diversify our income and secure SWEDA’s future. We are a small and friendly team and will make you feel very welcome.

Your role will be to help us devise and deliver community and individual fundraising campaigns, secure and cultivate corporate partnerships and forge relationships with schools and other community partners. You will also recruit and manage a team of volunteers to fundraise and raise awareness. You will be someone who loves meeting people and is ambitious and driven to achieve results. You will have lots of enthusiasm, energy and ideas. You will be comfortable trying new things and in being adaptable; we want to scale our public fundraising activity and are applying a ‘test and learn’ approach. The primary objective will be to raise funds to support our life transforming work, but also to raise awareness and understanding of eating disorders, and help establish SWEDA as the eating disorder specialist across the South & West. 

We are looking for a candidate who has the necessary skills and experience to fulfil the following role:

MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Plan, lead and deliver on income generation plans for individuals (including regular giving and appeals), community and corporate fundraising to grow SWEDA’s income year on year.
• Forge and cultivate relationships with supporters – individuals and businesses – in person, on the phone and through SWEDA’s communications channels.
• Maintain a clear focus on acquisition across community, corporate and individuals, with dedicated time for proactive prospect research.
• Monitor, evaluate and report against agreed performance indicators
• Work collaboratively with the Head of Fundraising and other team members to maximise income generation opportunities
• Develop a network of volunteers to support cost effective and successful public fundraising activity.
• Drive innovation to improve fundraising practice, increase ROI and test new approaches to raise money.
• Use data insight to drive decision making and improve performance.
• Plan and implement an effective stewardship plan which prioritises personalised long term relationships.
• Effectively use the CRM to record and manage your work, capture donor information/consents and support strategic planning.

The Impact and Evaluation team sits within Coram’s Institute for Children. Our team consists of 14 Researchers and a Research Coordinator, along with a network of around 15 research associates, pro bono analysts and peer researchers. We carry out qualitative, quantitative and mixed methods research with children and young people, which often involves parents and carers and the professionals who support them.

As a team, are values are to be child-centred, rigorous, grounded in experience, collaborative and impactful. We are dedicated to delivering child-centred research to ensure their voice is at the forefront of our work. We use co-design and participatory research methods to challenge power imbalances within research and work with marginalised groups.

Our work includes a diverse range of evaluation designs from feasibility studies and process evaluations through to large-scale, multi-site experimental and quasi-experimental impact evaluations. We work with a range of partners including Foundations, the Youth Endowment Fund, Department for Education, local authorities, the NHS, and universities as well as other third sector organisations. We also work in-house to support the Coram group of children’s charities to help evaluate their effectiveness and assess the impact of their work.

This role will be based in Coram’s Impact and Evaluation team which sits at the heart of Coram’s Institute for Children dedicated to improving the life chances of children. This role will play an important part in building the Institute and the strategic direction of the team. The role offers exciting opportunities to work within the Coram’s Impact and Evaluation team to lead a portfolio of mixed methods research projects and evaluation studies. As well as build links across Coram as well as externally with research partners and universities to pursue research dedicated to improving the lives of children and young people.

About the role

The Research Manager will play an important role in working with the Head of Impact and Evaluation and across Coram to develop and expand work of the team within Coram’s Institute for Children.

Working within Coram’s growing Impact and Evaluation team (which currently includes eight permanent researchers) the Research Manager will lead the delivery of high quality, innovative qualitative and quantitative studies including externally commissioned research and evaluation to support the improvement of policy and practice for vulnerable children, young people and their families. This will include implementation and process evaluations with children/young people, parents/carers and professionals as well as quasi-experimental and experimental impact evaluations.

We have an exciting opportunity for a passionate Store Manager to join Barnardo's on a Full Time, Permanent basis.

As a Store Manager you will manage the day to day running of our Ipswich Store, leading a team of colleagues to maximise store sales and profits. By doing so you will play a crucial role in raising the funds for the amazing services and support Barnardo's provides for children, young people, parents, and carers across the UK.

Working Pattern: As the store is open 7 days a week, the successful post holder will be required to on a rota basis which will include weekend, evening, and bank holiday working.

Some but not all key responsibilities are:

• Ensuring stock is generated over the door by members of the public and donors sign up to the Gift Aid scheme.
• Ensure that the high standard of service to customers that is expected by Barnardo's is maintained at all times.
• Implement promotions in the Store as directed by Head Office or your Area Business Manager.
• Maintain a high standard of presentation, both in the windows and the interior of the Store.
• Ensure there is adequate stock available on the shop floor, at all times, on all key lines
• Provide training, development, work reviews and appraisals for paid staff to enable them to perform their jobs efficiently and effectively.
• Create an organised and pleasant working environment for staff and volunteers.
• Actively recruit the correct/specified number volunteers to deliver the stores objectives and KPI's.

• Hold the shop keys, ensuring that the shop is secure whenever it is left unattended.

Main duties and responsibilities:

• To prepare, cook and serve nutritional balanced food with the young people and staff
• To control portions and food cost management.
• Organise and supervise the food service.
• Allocate duties and responsibilities to the rest of the team and provide general supervision/oversight with the young people helping in the kitchen.
• Ordering weekly food stock on line; establishing and maintaining an appropriate stock control methodology.
• Ensure all supplies of food, equipment and cleaning materials are of the right standard.

• Oversee administration of Cooking Open College Network Level 1 and 2 with support

Off The Record (OTR) is an independent charity based in the Havant Borough. We have been supporting young people and their families in South East Hampshire since 1977.

Young people are at the heart of what we do, and we aim to support the emotional health and wellbeing of our community's young people through one-to-one counselling, information and support, and group support for 11-25 year olds and their families.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

Leadership and Management

Provide inspirational and approachable leadership and management support to all staff, volunteers and sessional workers within the team including:

•  Providing 1-2-1’s, coaching, observations and safeguarding / management supervision.
•  Leading staff and volunteer team meetings.
• Overseeing absence management and welfare.
•  Leading on team recruitment.
• Supporting and attending team social and wellbeing activities.

Services Development and Delivery

• Ensuring our group work and Young Carers services are coordinated, delivered, monitored and evaluated against internal targets and service level agreements / contracts.
• Being part of the designated safe guarding officer team.
• Developing and communicating quarterly plans in advance for all services.
• Developing new and existing programmes and activities in line with demand and funding opportunities.
• Building and maintaining working relationships with other providers and organisations, including representing OTR at networks and forums within the local statutory and voluntary sector.
• Overseeing quality of service delivery, including identifying and implementing opportunities for improvement.
• Covering service delivery for OTR programmes and activities as needed.

Compliance, Reporting, Policy and Procedure

• Overseeing induction and training of staff and volunteers within the team, including ongoing training needs analysis.
• Handling and recording feedback and complaints in accordance with OTR policy.
• Producing internal and external funder and board reports
• Monitoring the accuracy and timeliness of data entry and outcomes evaluations of all services in the team.

•  A Designated Safeguarding Officer as part of a DSO team reporting to the DSL.

Person Specification

Essential Criteria

• Successful track record of leading and managing teams in a children and young people and/or family services delivery setting.
• Recent experience delivering programmes and activities within children and young people and/or family services.
• Experience managing safeguarding’s
•  Awareness of contemporary issues affecting children, young people, and families.
• Training qualification and/or equivalent experience delivering training and services for young people / family services.
• Experience managing a team in line with statutory and compliance obligations including Safeguarding, Health and Safety, Date Protection and GDPR, Confidentiality, and Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion.
• Monitoring, evaluating, and producing service reports to a high standard for internal and external audiences.
• Managing feedback and complaints at a senior level including responding to and resolving matters raised by both external stakeholders and service users in a professional manner and in keeping with policy and procedure.

•  Able to use Excel, including to create reports.

At TreeHouse School, we're looking for a SEND Officer to join our team.

You'll lead the scheduling and coordination of the statutory annual review process and be responsible for planning, organising, minuting and drafting all annual review paperwork. You'll support the effective provision of the school office administration by having regulatory knowledge to meet the needs of TreeHouse School and work closely with the reception team where required to support a variety of stakeholders.

You'll liaise closely with the school based Transdisciplinary Team staff, including class teachers, OT, SaLT, PBS specialists as well as outside agencies. You'll manage and organise pupil appointments, including informing parents/carers. You'll manage diaries/Outlook calendars, make appointments, book meetings and training rooms, whilst also being responsible for meeting minutes and note taking.
