Join our retail team as an Assistant Shop Manager at our Dorking shop and support the Shop Manager to maximise shop profit by achieving budgeted income, controlling shop expenditure in line with the shop's budget, and by recruiting and retaining a motivated team of volunteers. You will support the promotion of sustainable shopping and the shop’s social media to increase audience reach, attract customers, donors and volunteer supporters to deliver the Retail Strategy.
Income generation
- To support the Shop Manager to manage the Retail budget to achieve agreed targets:
- Help maximise shop sales by achieving agreed targets both through donated stock and bought in/new goods. This involves proactive stock generation, optimum pricing, processing stock to agreed amounts and stock planning.
- Achieve Gift Aid sales conversion target through maximising new donor sign up and encouraging repeat donations.
- Achieve the shops additional fundraising activities i.e., Christmas appeal sales targets through involving the shops team.
- Maintain high levels of shop presentation by merchandising and housekeeping to agreed standards as set out in the Shops Operations manual.
- Managing the stock levels of bought in/new goods, to include ordering of more stock as and when necessary.

Administration and compliance
- To ensure adherence to The Children’s Trust policies and procedures, in particular ensuring full compliance of the shops in line with all Health & Safety legislation, Trading Standards, Risk Assessments, Gift Aid, Lottery and all other legal or statutory requirements:
- Assist in controlling shop expenditure through effective cost control of weekly expenses.
- Ensure minimum losses of both stock and cash by following bank and till procedures and safeguarding the property of The Children’s Trust at all times.
- Adhere to all Policies and Procedures including those relating to the compliance with Health and Safety responsibilities, Gift Aid and Lottery.
- Complete all administration to meet the requirements, standard and deadlines for whom this work is produced.
- Embrace the change and development of new technology in the shop, for example The Loop (internal intranet) and Chariot (EPOS till system).
- Timely efficient responses to requests for information including voice and email messages.
- To fulfil any other agreed duties that may at times be reasonably required.
Personnel and Training
- To support the Shop Manager to ensure the Shop’s team are recruited, retained and developed:
- Led by the Shop Manager - provides positive, visible and proactive leadership to the Shops team.
- Assist in managing all employees and volunteers within the Shop in accordance with the aims and values of The Children’s Trust.
- Deputise and be accountable for all Shop Manager duties as and when necessary, in their absence due to sickness, holiday or recruitment.
- Assist the Shop Manager to recruit, induct, support, train and retain team of shop volunteers.
- Attend where appropriate, training courses relevant to the development of the role and Retail Sales meetings if required and cascade information to team as appropriate.

Customer Service
- To ensure customer care and quality of service.

As the organisation’s technical subject matter expert, this role will develop and oversee the delivery of Girlguiding’s strategic and operational priorities in relation to Activity Health and Safety. This is all activities where young members (girls) and adult members (volunteers) are involved.
The role manages the risk and holds responsibility for activity health and safety in all Girlguiding’s activities for girls, this includes adventure, events, local and international travel, venues and local Girlguiding properties.
The role leads work to develop, implement and embed improvements to Activity Health and Safety and will take responsibility for remaining informed about and advising on the implications of current and emerging health, safety and welfare legislation, including horizon scanning, evaluating options, making recommendations and generating action plans to ensure regulatory compliance.
Working in partnership and collaboration with staff and volunteers across the none UK country and region teams, this roles will support and develop stratAgies to ensure Activity Health and Safety is understood and implemented. The role will oversee investigations into activity health and safety incidents or near miss events.
The successful candidate must hold a relevant professional qualification and have experience of implementing health and safety management systems, strategy, policy and best practice. The Email & Messaging Channel Manager will play a crucial role in driving supporter engagement, fundraising, and brand awareness through effective email and SMS communication strategies. Main duties and responsibilities of the role:
Strategic Leadership:
· Email Strategy Development: Collaborate with the Senior Digital Channel Manager to develop and implement a comprehensive email strategy aligned with ARUK's fundraising, brand, communication, and advocacy goals.
· Platform Management: Own and manage the Dotdigital account (email and SMS), ensuring optimal performance, deliverability, and compliance.
· Cross-Platform Collaboration: Lead decision-making on email components for all platforms used at ARUK (Dotdigital, Funraisin, Outlook, etc.), ensuring a consistent and user-centric experience.

Additional Information:

- Lead on national health stakeholders to ensure buy-in and support for the project and its sustainability post project (medical regulatory authority, ministry of health, pharmacy associations, public sector medical procurement departments).
- Work with national peer health stakeholders to ensure their understanding, and engagement / support for the project (iNGOs, Health Clusters, aid management partners, UN stakeholders.
- Reach out to other iNGOs active in the project countries to harmonize product portfolios, and develop support for quality standards
- Champion the RI database for medical products including the RI Medical Supply List (MSL), manufacturers, distributors to include relevant quality data about products and suppliers
- Help the Supply Chain and Procurement Coordinator on sourcing and verifying medical assurance quality certificates with local suppliers to enable RI to conduct and improve local medical supply procurement

- A master's or bachelor's degree in pharmacy or a related field, OR equivalent working experience.
- Proven experience in dealing with multiple stakeholders in challenging environments, and working with large medical supply components in complex contexts
- Track record in project progress monitoring, tracking and reporting, qualitative and quantitative
- Knowledge of donor and other international medical quality assurance standards, and skills with host country institutions, and international organizations.
- Comprehensive understanding of medical product quality assurance certification

About CoppaFeel!
CoppaFeel! are the UK’s only youth focused breast cancer awareness charity, and we’re on a mission to get every 18-24 year old checking their chest. We educate people on the signs of breast cancer and encourage them to check their chests monthly, so that if they notice something unusual they are empowered to contact their GP and advocate for themselves.
We do this because when diagnosed early, breast cancer treatments are more effective and survival rates are higher. Early detection can save lives.
Breast cancer does not need to be detected late, and as long as we are here and continue to be supported by people like you, we will do all we can to make sure this doesn’t continue to happen.
The Role
In 2024 we commissioned ‘The CoppaFeel! Mobile’ - a fun and interactive awareness van, custom built to help us on our mission to reach more 18-24 year olds with our chest checking message.
In 2025, the CoppaFeel! mobile will attend a diverse range of events across the UK, creating in person awareness opportunities. We’re looking for an experienced events/operations person to make this role their own. You will be responsible for all event planning and logistics, staffing plans and van maintenance.
This is a hybrid role, with the expectation that you will attend the London office 2 days per week. Due to the nature of the role you will also be expected to attend events and there will be occasional weekend working; you will be awarded TOIL for any out of hours events and weekend work.
You will report to the Head of Marketing and sit within the Marketing team. You will potentially line manage support staff during the summer months. This role will work closely with the Marketing, Education and Fundraising teams.
This is a fixed term role for 1 year.
Duties & Responsibilities
- End to end planning of the yearly events schedule including scoping out which events fit with our event strategy, and managing the logistics, schedules, staffing, accreditation, and parking permits of ones we attend.
- Manage staffing and volunteer rotas for the events including briefing, management.
- Manage travel and accommodation plans as some events will involve overnight stays.
- Represent CoppaFeel! at events, communicating our chest checking message to the general public.
- Work closely with the Marketing Manager to ensure activations and promotion staff stay close to brand messaging.
- Manage awareness materials stored in the CoppaFeel! mobile and ensure the van is packed/unloaded pre and post events.
- Create and maintain equipment logs.
- Manage the safe parking and light maintenance of the vehicle.
- This role will need to attend some but not every event in the calendar which may require working across weekends (TOIL will be given). You will be responsible for overseeing the activations, and be the main point of contact for all event planning activity.

Essential criteria
Extensive experience of managing online and offline direct marketing campaigns across acquisition, retention and stewardship, maximising lifetime value.
Proven experience of managing at least two of the following products: regular giving, cash, legacy.
Proven use of data to inform decisions and deliver growth and evolution of individual giving fundraising campaigns.
Excellent project management experience including proven use of project management methodology and tools.
Strategic expertise:
o Experience in annual planning and year-round budget management, including ability to set detailed budgets and KPIs, provided detailed reforecast and proactively manage campaign budgets.
o Experience and capable of briefing and analysing complex data and insight information; to produce clear briefs and effective marketing plans.
o Experience of marketing planning and tracking, including media planning KPIs and metrics across online and offline channels.
o Experience of creating campaign alignment and channel alignment to optimise campaigns with a focus on income generation.
Effective relationship builder with strong stakeholder management and communication skills, and the ability to adapt to different styles and ways of working, including:
o Experience of working collaboratively with a range of team members.
o Experience of managing external parties such as creative and media agencies.
Communication:
o Excellent oral, written communication, attention to detail, and presentation skills with the ability to inspire and influence stakeholders.
o Strong interpersonal skills.
Knowledge and experience in developing and rolling out activity specific activations as part of a wider integrated campaign, actively opportunity spotting and fostering collaboration and adapting in response to wider factors.
A self-starter with proven ability to work independently, managing own work plan to deliver against set goals and objectives.
Experience of New Product Development (NPD), taking new products to minimum viable product (MVP).
Ability to understand risks, issues and dependencies within a project / campaign and to use this information to inform decision making in a timely and accurate way.
Understanding of and experience of using a CRM system and related analysis or marketing tools.
Able to demonstrate willingness to learn and develop in a fluid, high impact environment.
