The Welcome Centre is an independent charity providing crisis support in Huddersfield, West Yorkshire. We run a large food bank operation providing practical support. We also have an in-house Advice, Guidance & Support team who work with the people accessing our food bank to help improve their longer term circumstances. Each year we support thousands of people in crisis in our community.  As Fundraising Manager, you will play a vital role in ensuring we can provide the resources required.

We have a small friendly and committed staff team working across two sites in Huddersfield, supported by more than 100 volunteers. We rely on the generosity of our community and partners to support our work.

Chichester District Foodbank is a vibrant and ever-evolving community project which provides emergency food to over 9000 local people every year. We are looking to employ an Office Manager for 37.5 hours per week at £28,000 to £30,000 per annum. 

As the Office Manager you will manage the overall running of the Foodbank office/building, including overseeing HR, implementing policy and procedures, including Health and Safety, maintaining administrative processes, managing stakeholders, serving the trustee board, and working closely with staff in the implementation of events and projects.

Responsibilities

As the Office Manager you will be responsible for managing the overall running of the Foodbank Office/building and administrative processes.

The postholder will do this by:

• The first point of contact for clients and stakeholders on the Chichester District Foodbank main telephone or central email, dealing with initial enquiries and referring them to relevant member of staff when appropriate. 

• HR – manage the HR dashboard, Breathe HR, prompting managers to complete appraisals and regular one-to-ones, managing policies and supporting managers in the recruitment of staff using platforms such as ‘Indeed’.

• CRM – main point of contact for Salesforce, creating templates and providing reports, prompting staff to keep contacts up-to-date, data cleaning etc. 

• Stewardship of regular and one-off donors, acknowledging receipt of donations, encouraging Gift Aid signup, and sending letters of thanks on behalf of the CEO. 

• Supporting the Operations Manager with volunteer recruitment admin where necessary.

• Responsible for building management including liaising with utility suppliers and taking responsibility for health and safety in the Chichester District Foodbank offices and centre. 

• Responsible for equipment management, keeping an up-to-date asset list, liaising with suppliers and contractors, making sure all staff have equipment needed to complete their work i.e. phones systems, laptops, and mobile phones. 

• Responsible for procuring office supplies, including stamps. 

• Responsible for IT systems including Office 365 and Google drive, ensuring intellectual property is secure, staff have relevant access and corporate assets can be accessed by all. 

• Managing Chichester District Foodbank events, managing correspondence with event attendees, procuring event equipment and volunteers. Ensuring event information is communicated accurately and timely across all channels in collaboration with the Communications Officer. 

• Oversee community collections and collection boxes/buckets – making sure that we adhere to fundraising regulations and licences, counting, and banking money and thanking relevant organisations. 

• Manage organisational policy reviews and development.

• Manage the Chichester District Foodbank office volunteers including the tech volunteer who provides IT support. 

• Responsible for creation and development of a Chichester District Foodbank archive.

• Lead on data protection /GDPR. 

• Support CEO and Trustees by setting up meetings, providing agendas, board papers and minutes, booking venues and refreshments, whilst maintaining confidentiality. 

• Support internal communications as directed by the CEO. 

• Provide occasional management support for foodbank sessions when the Operations Manager is unavailable.

Katherine Low Settlement has worked with older people since its conception in 1924.They are a core part of the community that we continue to work with. We provide, often in partnership, a range of projects and activities for older people including health and wellbeing; creative arts; intergenerational work; connecting people and trips/outings. Our services include an Older People's Lunch Club, Contact Club, T’ai Chi for Elders, exercise and social sessions, and support online.

Role Purpose
We are seeking to recruit a manager to lead a frontline team. This role will suit an experienced people manager who is friendly, kind and able to manage a busy workload. Someone who can motivate staff and volunteers, engage with elders and be solution focused.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the day to day running of the Elders Core Service as part of the wider Elders Programme. This includes the three day a week lunch club, transport offer and social sessions and one-off activities and trips.
• Lead a team of dedicated part-time paid staff and volunteers. The team members include a cook, support worker, minibus driver and sessional workers such as exercise tutors.
• Work collaboratively with the wider team to provide this “hands on” programme which builds on older people’s strengths and potential.
• Manage the monitoring and evaluation of the project.
• Ensure the programme runs to budget.
• Support the planning of the core programme with Elders members themselves and with the wider team.
• Recruit, assess and support new and existing members (service users)
• Manage waiting lists for the programme
 

Main Duties & Responsibilities
Planning and oversight
• Working with the Head of Programme, ensure that all service output meets KLS’ vision, mission, values and charitable objects and with the Head of Programme, ensure the service meets the programme strategy and KLS’s 5-year strategy.
• Ensure the smooth delivery of core older people's activities throughout the week and organise, plan and promote agreed one-off activities throughout the year in a timely and planned manner.
• Manage the transport offer, including route planning and pick-up schedules of older people to and from KLS’ activities with the Minibus Driver. Ensuring the Minibus Driver maintains records.
• Ensure activity records and registers are kept accurately and up to date as well as case work notes for the core team, completing regular checks on this. We use a Salesforce Database for which training will be given.
• Actively support the social and support needs of our older people as appropriate, including safeguarding issues and being a first contact for compliments and complaints for the service.
• To be part of, and work closely with, the wider elder's team, sharing information regarding elders on a regular basis where appropriate.
• Conduct outreach and support work with older people in the community and on home visits and oversee the case work of the Core Team as well as having a small caseload. This does not involve advice work but is mainly signposting, referral and light advocacy.

Staff and volunteer management

• Take responsibility for the Core Programme. This includes line management of the Outreach and Support Workers, Lunch Club Cook and key relevant social activities workers and volunteers related to the core programme (we do also have a KLS Volunteer Manager who recruits volunteers).
• Ensure performance management and quality systems are used to monitor and evaluate the project’s work, processes and safeguarding.
• Managing individual volunteers as part of the Core Programme Team.
Relationships, comms and networks
• Continue to build and sustain strong relationships with our members.
• Contribute to comms for the service with the Head of Service. Oversee the comms for the Core Programme including the shared service newsletter, activities calendar, annual report and social media platforms.
• Attend meetings as requested on behalf of the Core Programme.
 

Finance
• Manage the project areas to budget, maintain basic financial records as agreed with the Head of Programme – in this instance this is usually a petty cash sheet.
Safeguarding
• Responsible for ensuring adherence to policies and procedures across the core team, ensuring that safeguarding is at the forefront of KLS’ delivery.
Undertake other duties
• Participate in regular management supervision and annual appraisal; help to identify your own job-related development and training needs
• Undertake your role in a professional manner and maintain a high-quality standard of work in accordance with the aims, values and ethos of KLS
Skills and Experience
• Experience of working with older people in a community setting
• Experience of line managing a small team in a community setting
• Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, including communicating with people from a wide range of backgrounds and when working individually or in groups
• Strong multi-tasking skills and time management 
• Ability to work as part of a small team, whilst also working independently
• Experience of monitoring and evaluating projects effectively and ensuring that they are consistently meeting needs

The Felix Project is London's biggest food redistribution charity and the largest end-to-end food redistribution charity in Europe.

Our vision is a London where no one goes hungry and good food is never wasted.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are looking for a Forensic Psychologist to support our service based in Croydon. Based at a 27-bed residential property which specialises in forensic mental health, complex needs and dual diagnosis. As a Forensic Psychologist, you will support individuals with specific needs, and offer a level of contact, support, and supervision to support our residents to reintegrate within society. You will be providing psychological assessments and support residents who have multiple and complex needs that need support from our staff teams to meet their personal goals. 

Penrose Croydon: A 27-bed residential property specialising in forensic mental health, complex needs and dual diagnosis. We offer psychologically-informed housing and resettlement support that comes with additional help for individuals’ specific needs. Our forensic mental health step-down services consist of four individual sites which cater for high and medium support for both, men and women.

Shift Pattern: 22.5 hours per week, shift pattern to be agreed. 

This role is the equivalent of NHS band 8B

WHAT'S SOME OF THE RESPONSIBILITIES YOU WILL HOLD?

• Formulate and implement plans for various therapy routes and management of assessing mental health conditions based upon appropriate conceptual frameworks and evidence-based practice.
• Discuss and negotiate care plans with all relevant internal and external parties.
• Undertake highly skilled evaluations and make decisions about treatment options and provide guidance and consultation to other parties contributing to the resident/participant’s diagnosis, formulation, and intervention plan.
• Facilitate one to one and group workshops and interventions, workshops, PIE training, and support with implementation plans across the organisation.
• Ensure all work carried out is compliant with Health and Safety, CPD activities and HCPC requirements.

Other responsibilities than those described above may be required to be undertaken from time to time and will be expected to be performed to as long as it is within the capability and level of the position. 

KEY CRITERIA

What we are looking for:

• Post-graduate doctoral level training in Applied Psychology (or equivalent) as accredited by the BPD (or equivalent awarding body)
• HCPC registration as an applied Psychologist with chartered status
• Previous experience working as a qualified forensic psychologist, including working with people with complex backgrounds/needs and a good understanding of the sector
• Ability to use, learn and adapt to IT at an intermediate level, including Microsoft and other software programs
• Ability to teach, train, consult, and deliver clinical supervision
• Understanding of criminology, psychology, and behavioural patterns, and how they link to different behaviours and engagement
• Ability to understand and apply safeguarding protocols as they arise
• Ability and willingness to show flexibility of working patterns, responding to the needs of the service and residents

  • Identify opportunities to create, innovate and improve projects within the Refugee Family Programme - such as community outreach workshops, advocacy support, Educational Classes, and Groups, Mentoring and Clubs - to meet the needs of the people we support and those who may need our support in the future.
  • Undertake regular horizon scanning and environmental analysis to ensure KLS has a full understanding of the potential for growth and programme development associated with the current, future and changing demand and need.

Main Duties and Responsibilities 

• Provide strategic and operational leadership to your direct reports and overall team to achieve both the organisation’s overall vision and ensure excellence in delivery.
• Devise and design programme concepts and specifications and provide strategic recommendations for programme developments using effective research, planning, monitoring, and evaluation, ensuring projects meet needs of individuals, families, and the community.

Administration

• Recruit, train, manage and support the team, holding regular supervision sessions, annual appraisals and appropriate training and development.
• Ensure performance management and quality systems are in place to monitor and evaluate the project’s work, processes.
• Follow KLS’ safer recruiting process and ensure safeguarding members is a priority across the team.
• Ensure all member and project records are kept up to date on Salesforce.
• Work with the Senior Leadership and Finance Director to manage the programme budget, maintain financial records, monitor income and expenditure against budgets and targets, and report regularly and accurately to KLS’ Senior Leadership Team and Board of Trustees.
• Oversee the team’s use of our database, Salesforce, for managing the programme, ensuring data accuracy and completeness, and working with external consultants to customise and integrate the database with KLS’ website, referral, and evaluation forms.

Safeguarding

• Responsible for embedding safeguarding best practice and ensuring adherence to policies and procedures across the programme team, ensuring that safeguarding is at the forefront of KLS’ delivery.
• Act as the Designated Safeguarding Lead for the Refugee Family Programme Team, working with Safeguarding Officers and Duty Leads to ensure all safeguarding concerns are managed and recorded appropriately and safeguarding cover is maintained across the team in line with KLS’ procedures.

Skills and Experience

• Extensive leadership and management experience, coupled with a track record of leading the strategic development of services for adults and children (of all ages) from the refugee community that improve their access to education and justice, reduce their isolation and improve their ability to navigate their journey.
• Extensive experience of working with people from vulnerable groups, especially children and young people, ensuring that clients’ needs are at the forefront of service planning and delivery.
• Experience of working with refugee communities.
• Up to date knowledge of the English education system, rights to education, the barriers facing refugee communities in accessing education and how these might be addressed.
• Understanding and experience of safeguarding, and health & safety (including trips and residentials for children and families), in theory and in practice.
• Experience of providing advice and advocacy support to people from vulnerable groups.

Role Summary:

Global Health 5050 is seeking a hands-on Head of Operations to support the professional running of the charity. The successful candidate for this post is expected to play an integral role in contributing to the growth of GH5050, as well as taking a leading role in managing the day-to-day and longer-term operations of the charity.

Role Responsibilities:

● Support the leadership of GH5050 and the key organisational management decisions that need to be made for the effective growth and operations of the charity.
