About the Role
As an Advice Worker, you will ensure individuals and families receive timely, practical support that empowers them to navigate key challenges. You will:
- Provide specialist advice on disability benefits, social care, education, and healthcare services.
- Advocate for individuals and families, ensuring they receive the support they need.
- Assist with applications and appeals for welfare benefits, social care assessments, and education support plans.
- Work collaboratively with healthcare professionals, social workers, and educators to provide holistic support.
- Attend BBS Clinics, community events, and outreach sessions to deliver in-person advice.
- Stay up to date with relevant legislation and policies affecting individuals with disabilities and rare conditions.
This is a home-based role with occasional travel across England. Travel expenses will be reimbursed in line with BBS UK policies.
Who We’re Looking For

Essential Experience & Skills
- Experience providing advice and support to individuals with disabilities or long-term conditions.
- Strong knowledge of social care systems, disability benefits, and education support.
- Experience in advocacy and casework, supporting individuals with complex needs.
- Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office and case management systems (e.g., CharityLog).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with a diverse range of people.
- Ability to work independently, manage a varied workload, and use initiative.
- A deep understanding of the challenges faced by individuals with rare genetic conditions.
Desirable Experience & Skills
- Experience working remotely as part of a dispersed team.
- Knowledge of Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) and experience supporting families with applications and reviews.
- Access to a car for travel (mileage and travel expenses reimbursed).

As a Housing Support Worker, you will support people with a history of drug and/or alcohol issues who are living in supported housing projects.
You will assist with the daily running of the service and coordinate all aspects of the residents’ care, including referrals, move-in plans, assessments, support planning and case notes.
You will provide practical help and advice to support tenants to keep their tenancies and avoid eviction, including encourage individuals to develop practical skills such as shopping, cooking, and housework.

This is an entry-level role, and we understand that not all candidates will have direct work experience in a similar position. Whilst a passion for working with people affected by addiction or homelessness is crucial, you may also have:
- Experience of working with people with complex needs including challenging or negative behaviour, substance misuse and/or criminal offending backgrounds.
- An understanding of the harmful effects associated with drug and alcohol misuse and offending in relation to health, social welfare, housing, employability and personal relationships.
- Experience or an understanding of supporting people to develop their personal strengths and sustain their tenancy within a ‘supported housing’ environment.
- Experience of developing partnerships and working collaboratively with other organisations.
- Specialist harm reduction experience.
- A coaching / counselling / Health and Social Care qualification.
You will be required to work across Cheshire East covering Crewe, Middlewich, Macclesfield and Congleton, although you may have a regular base.

JOB OVERVIEW
Working with the Events & Community Fundraising Coordinator, the Community Fundraising Officer will be responsible for planning and delivering a varied programme of community fundraising activities. This currently includes a recipe club, fundraising campaigns, online raffle and auctions, and attendance at events, alongside supporting individuals, organisations and groups who are organising fundraising events on behalf of the Trust.
While prior third sector experience is required, it's just as important that the successful candidate has excellent communication skills and strong organisational and administrative abilities. Responsibilities
- Design and deliver polished supporter journeys for all community fundraisers, ensuring maximum fundraising returns.
- Answer general enquiries and distribute community fundraising packs to supporters who are holding local events or participating in our fundraising campaigns.
- Recruit and manage volunteers, encouraging them to promote the Trust within their local community through event attendance and fundraising initiatives.
- Organise volunteer attendance at the Trust’s own challenge events, including Trailwalker. Handle requests from supporters for Trust representative to attend events, talks or cheque presentations.
- Identify appropriate third party events and manage the Trust’s attendance, with the aim of engaging with supporters, recruiting volunteers, and strengthening the Trust’s brand.
- Work with the Events & Community Fundraising Coordinator to develop a yearly strategy to grow income from community fundraising in line with the wider strategy. Develop new income streams through campaigns and/or introducing new communities to the work of the Trust.
- Formulate and oversee the annual Community Fundraising budget, including income and expenditure. Liaise with the donations processing and Finance teams to ensure challenge and community income is allocated and recorded correctly.
- Work with the Communications team to ensure effective promotion of community fundraising initiatives across all relevant mediums.
- Work with the Communications team to showcase any new initiatives, developing attractive and innovative fundraising assets and ensuring they are readily available for our supporters. Set up smooth, accessible sign-up processes, capturing contact preferences and relevant data that will assist with evaluation and analysis.
- Monitor and report on agreed KPIs relating to Community Fundraising.
Skills

Outward Housing Department provides housing management aimed at sustaining vulnerable people in their tenancies and assisting people to move on from short term services. We work with a number of registered housing providers and in conjunction with our Group partner Newlon Housing Trust to provide housing management to their supported housing homes.
As a Tenancy Management Officer you will be expected to ensure that a comprehensive, sensitive and efficient housing management service is delivered to our tenants. You will also be able to effectively manage tenancy breaches including Anti-Social Behaviour, assess the suitability of new referrals, carry out property inspections and manage the voids process, monitor rent accounts and work with Income Management Team to ensure that rent arrears are kept to a minimum. The successful candidates will also have excellent organisational, administrative and IT skills, and a commitment to excellent customer service.
This role is available as a full time post of 38 hours per week.

About the role
This post will work as part of a community partnership programme, a small team providing accessible and bespoke perinatal care including, antenatal education, postnatal sessions, peer support, counselling and practical support to women from low-income migrant marginalised backgrounds. The role will provide non-judgmental, compassionate and trauma-informed care to women accessing the service and provide an initial assessment of needs and regular reviews. This role will coordinate inclusive and sensitive evaluation and data collection methods to evidence service impact and work collaboratively with stakeholders and researchers to enable women to participate in opportunities to share their maternity experience.
To be successful in this role you will have:
· Experience of supporting or working with marginalised or vulnerable groups and understanding the barriers they face to accessing support and an awareness of ways in overcoming them
· Knowledge and experience working or volunteering with women and birthing people during pregnancy and early years
· Experience working within a relevant sector e.g., maternity, children’s services, homelessness, women’s services, mental health, supporting asylum and refugee families
· Strong commitment to improve equity and equality in maternity care
· Ability to handle challenging situations and behavior with a calm, flexible and confident approach to reach a positive resolution
· Experience in evidencing impact, using inclusive approaches of evaluation and data collection
· Able to work reflectively, developing an awareness of your own and others’ relational styles and responses, and any judgements, biases or assumptions that may impact upon your work.
