The Finance Team at Alzheimer’s Research UK is responsible for maintaining the financial records of the Charity and providing timely and accurate financial information. The team is responsible for ensuring there is a strong financial control environment, and for providing support and advice on all finance matters to employees across the charity.
This role requires you to be in the office at least two days per week, and combines daily tasks, which require attention to detail to accurately record data and maintain records, along with a broader responsibility for employee expense claims which requires a proactive approach and initiative in resolving issues and helping others around the organisation.
This role requires excellent focus, time management and prioritisation as it involves daily, weekly, and monthly tasks which must be carried out methodically in accordance with documented procedures, and which may vary in complexity depending on queries and requests received. It requires organisation over workloads, providing the ability to help others in the team as needed.

Main duties and responsibilities of the role:
· Answering the Finance Team telephone line.
· Managing the Finance Team shared inbox, dealing with basic queries, and passing other queries to the appropriate colleague.
· Assisting in the maintenance of corporate credit card records, including applications for new credit cards, removal of cards for leavers and changing credit limits.
· Maintenance and administration of Webexpenses including the creation of new employees, removal of leavers and changes to the costing structures, approval paths and limits. Providing employees with appropriate induction, training, and support to ensure they understand Webexpenses and the relevant expenses and credit card policies. Ensuring all expense and credit card claims are processed in accordance with the relevant policy guidelines in issue at the time.
· Processing and payment of employee expenses.
· Imports of corporate credit card statements to Webexpenses, and monthly reconciliation of credit card statements to WebExpenses claims.
· Purchase ledger support including chasing for purchase orders, matching purchase invoices to purchase orders, posting invoices to the finance system and assisting with payment runs.
· Recording, management, and reconciliation of cash received directly to the office.
· Scanning and posting of cheques received and sending to the bank.
· Occasional trip to the bank, to bank foreign currency and cash.
· Opening of Finance Team post, filing/distributing as appropriate.
· Payment of manual expense claims not processed via Webexpenses.
· Sending non-cheque vouchers to the relevant agencies.
· Year end audit assistance, collating documents such as invoices, cheques, or bank statements for auditors.
What we are looking for:
· A relevant Maths qualification (or equivalent)

Additional Information:
Ways of working: As part of our Agile ways of working you will be required to work approximately 2 days a week from the office, which is subject to the requirements of the role and the business needs. Flexibility on where you work can be split between working from home and our office.
Roles that are classed as part of the Agile ways of working are not able to claim any costs for Mileage/Travel on Public Transport, Accommodation and/or Meals. This includes when attending the office for various meetings/events.

We are hiring! We have a job vacancy for a Normal Pressure Hydrocephalus (NPH) / Dementia Coordinator.
Shine has a membership of over 13,500 members living with SpinaBifida and/or Hydrocephalus and associated conditions and over 6,000 associated members.
In the last year we have seen a 25% increase in members who are living with NPH across England, Wales and Northern Ireland. There are currently just under 600 members with NPH, plus their carers registered, but we are expecting this to continue to rise as awareness and diagnosis of the condition grows.
We are looking for an experienced, skilled, organised and dedicated new staff member to join Shine’s Services team to develop and lead our new NPH service.

Staff management:

Project management:
1. Evaluate existing support for members living with NPH and their families/ carers within Shine
2. Develop and grow the service based on the needs and voice of our members
3. Lead the support of members living with NPH and their families/ carers across England, Wales & Northern Ireland
4. Develop annual work plans, which will enable continued development and delivery of the NPH service
5. Create a framework for the service and develop Shine colleagues to support delivery in key areas
6. To provide training to upskill colleagues in dementia

To manage all enquiries from our members living with NPH and their carers, providing direct one to one support and advice including-
· Welfare benefit/ income maximisation advice
· Condition specific support to enable the person living with NPH to have choice and control over their current and future care needs.
· Signposting /referring to more specialist information and support, internally or to other local, regional or national organisations
You will also:
· In collaboration with Shine’s National Programmes & Membership Engagement Manager, Health and Services colleagues and external partners, lead the delivery of the NPH awareness week once a year
· Review existing and develop new resources for members with NPH alongside the Health team
· Develop and deliver an annual programme of events and peer support groups for members with NPH and their families and carers
· Oversee social media, Facebook and WhatsApp support groups
· Organise steering groups, providing opportunities for Shine members to guide the development of the service, and engage in consultations and research
· Develop partnership opportunities and closer working relationships with health professionals, statutory organisations and charities
· Identify key campaigns to improve the rights of members with NPH, improving access to statutory services, access to NHS care, awareness regarding diagnosis and treatment.

We have been awarded a significant grant from the Defra Trees Call to Action Fund for #Defra Heart of England: growing momentum, capacity, skills and trees. In partnership with Stratford-on-Avon, Warwick, and Wychavon District Councils, the Heart of England Forest is leading this three year project to engage with landowners and local communities to increase tree cover across the landscape. Working together to identify suitable areas for trees to be planted, facilitate tree planting, and support woodland maintenance, new woodlands will be created that benefit the environment, boost biodiversity, and provide havens for communities to enjoy.
We are looking for two candidates with widespread experience of project delivery and good team working skills. The successful candidates will work closely with project partners to engage with local communities and larger scale landowners to identify suitable areas for tree planting. Working with them to understand their needs, you will provide information on different types of planting and support them through the regulatory and funding process.
You will be passionate about landscape-scale conservation and the benefits this brings to both people and wildlife and have a demonstrable track record in successful team working.
The post will be based in the Heart of England Forest head office in Dorsington, but due to the nature of the project hybrid working will form part of the role. Each project delivery post has been assigned a particular geographic area – Warwick, Stratford-on-Avon or Wychavon district – and will be expected to travel extensively across their project area. Job purpose

The Role
As our Individual Giving Officer, you will help to develop and implement the charity’s individual giving strategy.
Supporting the Individual Giving Manager, you will be the main point of contact and manage the day-to-day relationships with external face-to-face fundraising partners, who represent Yorkshire Cancer Research at private sites (e.g. supermarkets) and by going door-to-door to raise awareness of the work of the charity and encourage individuals to make regular gifts. You will be involved in all aspects of building and maintaining fundraising partner relationships.
Specifically, you will:
Support the charity’s face-to-face fundraising activities:

Work with the Marketing Team and face-to-face partners to build a range of marketing propositions that create memorable conversations and increase the likelihood of individuals deciding to sign up to give a regular donation.

Co-ordinate and facilitate training and engagement activity for new and current face-to-face fundraisers to keep them informed of and inspired by the latest developments at the charity.

Ensure face-to-face fundraisers have appropriate collateral and that all equipment and materials are kept up to date and are engaging for potential supporters.

Ensure face-to-face fundraisers represent Yorkshire Cancer Research in a way that aligns with the charity’s brand values and key messages.
Create campaigns, supporter journeys and develop onward stewardship:

With the support of the Individual Giving Manager, lead individual giving fundraising campaigns and help to develop new campaign propositions that will attract and retain supporters.

Work with the Individual Giving Manager and Supporter Engagement Team to develop and implement supporter journeys from beginning to end for newly acquired regular donors and other key supporter groups, aiming to increase levels of affinity with the charity and encourage life-time commitment.

In conjunction with the Supporter Engagement Team, regularly review fulfilment communications to all our individual giving supporters, ensuring they are compelling, accurate and fit for purpose.
Be responsible for data management and reporting:

Analyse campaigns and activity, including monthly reviews of key performance indicators, to provide insights and inform future decisions.

Use the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) database to maintain accurate records, for data segmentation and for income and other KPI reporting purposes to ensure the effective management of all individual giving activities.
About You
To be considered for this role, you will need:

To have a degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant discipline, or proven experience working in a similar role at a similar level.

To have experience of individual giving and/or new donor acquisition within the charity sector or similar customer service experience in another sector.

To have experience of campaign management including creating schedules, data management, creating briefing documents, budget management, analysing and reporting on results.

General Information
Big Local Works (BLW) is a community-focused economic inclusion charity based in Bermondsey, South East London. We want to help create a thriving, inclusive local economy and community in which everyone can participate.
To make this happen, we maximise local people’s financial and economic wellbeing to reduce poverty and hardship, and give them support to find sustainable, active routes out of poverty, including through employment and enterprise.
We deliver our support in the community through three main services:
- Expert welfare and benefits advice and advocacy for local people experiencing poverty and hardship
- Employability Skills training and coaching to help people access ways of increasing their earned income
- Start-up and enterprise support for clients who wish to start trading on the local ‘Blue Market’
People Powered Regeneration
As well as continuing to offer an ever-wider range of individual support, we now have a strategic vision to create a ‘people-powered regeneration’ in an area already undergoing massive redevelopment by property developers.
In July 2019, a community campaign was successful in securing £2m funding from the GLA for the ‘Made in Bermondsey’ regeneration project centred on making key improvements to the local market place, the Blue Market in South Bermondsey.
Final works were completed in July 2022 and the market now has a first-class infrastructure for traders, local residents and visitors to use and enjoy the Blue Market place. The market also showcases a vision of a better future for the local area: a more prosperous, resilient and connected local community where people come together to trade, socialise, and celebrate across the diverse boundaries. We need to pay special attention to BAME, and recent migrant, communities who have begun to settle in Bermondsey after many years of exclusion.
Through our work, we seek to empower local people, encourage enterprise and community activity, and support the regeneration of an area that has long suffered from the effects of deprivation. Most recently, we have been successful in securing £200,000 from the Esmee Fairbairn Charity for strategy and community engagement support in the local area.
Our key goals are:
- Local people have more say over the changes in their local community.
This means that local people are actively involved in the development of place-based community assets, enterprises and projects. Local people will have more influence on local development and regeneration.
- ·A more diverse range of local people work together to improve their community.
This means community members from a wider range of backgrounds become active citizens. There are better relationships and increased collaboration between local stakeholders.
- People feel proud of their local area, and hopeful for the future.
This means stories and messages about the area are more inclusive and welcoming of diverse perspectives and communities. People are better informed, and know more about the opportunities and assets in their local community.
Community Organiser – Enterprise and Engagement
Over the past 2 years, we’ve undertaken in-depth research and community mapping to understand our area's needs, assets and lived experiences.
This role has three key responsibilities:
1. Outreach and engagement with local communities to help them build a stronger voice during regeneration
2. Supporting the development of new initiatives by local people, focused on microenterprise and wider community activity
3. Ensuring that a wider range of local people are involved and included in community activity, and their voices heard – especially those from marginalized communities

Rough sleeping data shows that migrants make up more than 50% of the people rough sleeping in London. The Migrant Accommodation Pathways Support (MAPS) service provides a rapid intervention to support clients who are migrants and rough sleeping in London to find a route into accommodation that is suitable and sustainable in the UK or elsewhere in the world. We are looking for someone to join our team as a Coordinator where you will:
- Work alongside our small team who aim to maximise resources and find creative solutions to resolve the issues faced by people experiencing homelessness.
- Be the first point of contact for professionals where you will provide advice and support on next steps to empower professionals to identify routes out of homelessness for their clients.
- Oversee the team’s caseload, supporting the team to identify and deliver effective routes off the streets for non-UK nationals.
- Lead on partnership development for the MAPS service in the UK and with services across the world, maximising accommodation options for non-UK nationals.
While your usual working hours will be from Monday to Friday, 9am-5pm, occasional work during early or late hours may occur in response to challenging situations and to prevent rough sleeping. For this role staff can claim an additional 20% pay premium for hours worked between 8pm-8am Monday to Friday, and all hours worked on Saturday and Sunday.
About you
We are looking for someone who can be flexible, creative and proactive and is passionate about working with migrants.
Due to the legislative context in which we work, accommodation options are often limited for our client group, therefore you will be able to demonstrate your adaptability and resourcefulness.
