This role is part of the Wiltshire Project which provides individual and family support to domestic abuse for victims and their children.
Working with children and young people, the team will focus on delivering timely and high quality, trauma informed support to children who have been the victims of domestic abuse.
This is a fixed term position to November 2025.
This exciting post will be working with children who have experienced or been affected by domestic abuse. Focusing on standard and medium risk cases, this role will provide practical and emotional support to children and young people, with an emphasis on early intervention and awareness raising.
In addition, there will be the opportunity to work with the team and manager to develop and deliver new group work provision for young people.
Key tasks and responsibilities include:
· To provide high quality, specialist support to children who have lived in a domestically abusive family.
· Enabling young people to access statutory and other services where appropriate.
· Managing a caseload and working proactively to support young people and their families.
· To deliver educational, time-bound, 1 to 1 support sessions for children and young people.
· Provide specialist support to child victims, with a focus on empowering young people to make informed decisions.
· Ensure that children and young people have a thorough understanding of what constitutes a ‘healthy relationship’.
· Undertake risk assessments and implement robust safety management plans.
· Give practical and emotional support to children affected by domestic abuse.
· Work closely with multi-agency partners and the wider Wiltshire team to ensure that we maintain a focus on risk management and safeguarding.
· Work with your team and manager to develop early intervention resources.
· Engaging with and supporting the MARAC and MASH process, to ensure that the voice of victims is heard.
This role will be based in our Trowbridge office, with a requirement to travel across Wiltshire. FearFree supports staff to work flexibly, with an ability to work in a hybrid fashion, both at home and in the office.
Key responsibilities:
- Manage a caseload of low to high risk children and young people, predominantly through face to face appointments but also utilising virtual technologies.
- Complete an initial assessment of the child’s needs so that you can identify and plan the support needed to address issues and prevent any problems from escalating.
- Assess, manage and review risks to service users, colleagues and self, according to agreed procedures.
- Assess the needs of the child and devise appropriate support and safety plans with due regard to the dynamic nature of risk.
- Work with colleagues, health and social care professionals and multi-agency networks to evaluate caseload needs and the progress that has been made.
- Work directly and proactively with children and young people to help them to understand the impact that Domestic Abuse has had on them.
- Ensure personal safety and that of service users and other staff at all times.
- Respond to emergencies and crises with a focus on the child’s wellbeing and safeguarding.
- Plan and implement activities to promote self-awareness, confidence and participation for children.
- Provide person centred, trauma informed support to all your cases, to empower the young person to make informed choices.
- Enable service users to participate in the design, delivery and evaluation of services.
- Work effectively in partnership with multiple statutory and voluntary agencies to enhance service delivery, safety and safeguarding.
- Respond to a child’s individual learning needs and style, adapting practice as necessary.
- Work closely with schools and education establishments to ensure support offered to service users is appropriate, planned and coordinated.
- Keeping the child’s voice central to all support and decision making wherever possible: taking the time to talk through and work with the individual child’s understanding around safeguarding and why we need to share certain things.
- Act as duty officer for Wiltshire, responding to incoming calls, logging referrals and making assigned outgoing calls, according to the duty rota. Duty shifts will be 9 – 5 in the Trowbridge Office.
- To understand and work effectively within a multi-agency framework, consisting of the MARAC and local partnership responses to domestic abuse, in order to reduce the risk for service users and their families.

- Work with the Childrens and Families Team Manager to develop and deliver, a group work intervention for young people.
- Assist with recruiting children and young people to be involved in the development of groups or activities, providing them with on-going support.
- Run groups for children and young people following a planned programme.
General
- Work at all times in accordance with the requirements of the Lone Working Policy and Procedure.
- Attend and contribute to team meetings.
- Update written and computerised records with accurate and clear information.
- Contribute to effective team working with a flexible and pro-active approach, including cover for other team members’ holidays and sickness.
- Undertake agreed training and keep updated on changes in legislation, policy and best practice.

About the role
The role of Team Leader is vital for the day-to-day management of the Hub to ensure the delivery of front-line services, contracts and projects. About the role
As a Wellbeing Assessor, you will use your skills and experience to work directly with people with mental health issues in one-to-one settings, including telephone, face-to-face and online engagement. You will work with clients to help them identify their needs and goals and offer some skills and techniques to self-manage their mental health and link them to the right mental health support for them. As the Peer Mentor Coordinator (Young Women & Girls), this is an exciting time to join Advance while we embark on our journey to reach even more young women and girls aged 13-25 in need of support. You will project manage the mentoring service and recruit, support and develop Volunteer Mentors in their roles. Working as part of an innovative and newly-funded service, you will also work closely with the Maia Service Manager to capture and share feedback and learning from the project, using this to inform the ongoing development of Advance’s ways of working with YWG and disseminating findings widely across key partners and networks.
About You:
To be successful as the Peer Mentor Coordinator (Young Women & Girls) you will need the below experience and skills:
You will be able to project manage the Maia’s Service’s peer mentoring programme, liaising with keyworkers and partner agencies to successfully establish and run a peer mentoring programme across six boroughs.
You will be able to effectively engage and recruit women with lived experience to act as Volunteer Mentors for the YWG engaging with the Maia service.
You will be able to develop resources and deliver a training package to Volunteer Mentors, including sessions on key topics such as safeguarding, data protection and confidentiality, building relationships and maintaining boundaries, active listening and risk and crisis management, as well as specialist workshops focused on the challenges facing YWG, including violence, abuse and exploitation and contact with the criminal justice system.
You will have experience in developing and maintaining links with partner agencies (statutory and non-statutory, including children and young people’s and women and girls’ voluntary services) across the six boroughs, raising the profile of the Maia service and developing specific referral pathways for Volunteer Mentors and the YWG they support where appropriate.
You will be knowledgeable and have a strong understanding of the challenges facing vulnerable young women and girls, including the impacts of domestic abuse, exploitation, mental health and contact with the criminal justice system, and of the practical and emotional support needs specific to this group, including education, confidence and relationship-building.

About the role
The Exchange is looking for an enthusiastic and hard-working Sales Assistant with a flair for customer service, and a passion for plants, craft and people. This is an exciting new opportunity to help support our Retail Manager in establishing The Garden Room as a vibrant, successful and welcoming space for retail, selling homeware and gifts; craft and garden supplies and tools; plants and plant care products; and some fashion, fragrance and cosmetics. About the role
We are looking for three new Project Assistants to support the delivery of a range of services our guests need to have a safe and happy Christmas. Changing Futures is a £64 million joint initiative by the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government and The National Lottery Community Fund. Its aim is for local organisations to work in partnership to improve support for people who are experiencing multiple disadvantage. Through Changing Futures in Greater Manchester, Shelter works in partnership with Greater Manchester Combined Authority, locality partnerships and other VCSE and community partners and we ensure lived experience is at the heart of design, delivery and systems change. About the role
As the 'Changing Futures' GROW Coordinator you will provide strategic oversight of GROW placements, working closely with the Changing Futures Innovation sites and the GMCA to provide support around inclusive recruitment and sharing best practice regarding employing people with lived experience of multiple disadvantages. You will co-ordinate the programme to ensure a high-quality traineeships and make sure that the structures and resources to facilitate traineeships are in place.
We will also rely on you to promote the programme to partners, funders and other audiences, so we can raise awareness of the value of employing people with lived experience and encourage more organisations to adopt the approach. You will empower our Trainees to use their experiences to influence the design and delivery of the partnership by developing and maintaining learning pathways, ensuring the right wellbeing and development support is in place and that they have the right resources and training materials.

About you
We need someone with understanding and insight into how experiencing multiple disadvantage and social inequalities can affect people’s lives as well as experience of co-ordinating employment, training and education projects. About the Role:
As a Hospital Independent Domestic Violence Advisor you will be supporting victims of domestic abuse. This is a key role at the hospitals working alongside the safeguarding team to ensure that victims of domestic abuse have access to appropriate support. As an IDVA you will be:
- Providing a high quality support & advocacy service to victims of domestic abuse
- Managing a caseload; identifying and assessing risks and needs, providing a tailored crisis intervention service through individual safety planning, advocacy, emotional & practical support
- Advocating on behalf of service users to help them access services to keep them safe
- Working within a multi-agency framework to offer a coordinated response to domestic abuse
- Delivering training to hospital staff & local partner agencies
You will need:
- Knowledge of help-seeking barriers and support needs of victims of domestic abuse
- An understanding of domestic abuse & it's impact
- Knowledge of risk assessment, safety planning & risk management
- Understand safeguarding issues, and the legal responsibilities surrounding these issues.
- Experience of direct service delivery to vulnerable people
- Good communication, negotiation and advocacy skills, both written and verbal when interacting with a range of agencies and individuals
- Strong crisis management skills and the ability to deal with stressful and difficult situations.
