• Agree requirements, scope and specification of system changes with line manager.
• Plan and deliver a continuous program of process upgrades and development under the direction of the Systems Development Manager - continue to automate individual and bulk processes within UPM2 and any other applications, as prioritised.

We are looking for an enthuiastic and driven Head of Fundraising and Development who has a strong track record of success in strategic development and management of six-figure funding partnerships and relationship building.

You will develop and foster relationships with the aim of obtaining financial support for the sustainable development and growth of QEST. Stewarding existing funders and developing new business, the role also presents an opportunity over the long term, once funding is secured, to lead and build a fundraising team at a transformational time in QEST’s development and strategic direction.  There is currently a Fundraising Manager.

KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Working with the CEO and Fundraising Manager to devise, develop, and deliver a fundraising strategy for QEST to achieve diversification of income (restricted and unrestricted) for the long term with a particular focus on:

o Trusts & Foundations (strong track-record)

o Corporate funders

o Statutory funders

o Sponsors/commercial partners

o Major donors and philanthropy

• Reporting to the CEO and Board of Trustees you will secure and maintain sustainable income streams, in line with agreed targets which meet our charitable objectives, focusing on six-figure+ strategic partnerships where possible
•  Developing a communications strategy for fundraising with the CEO and Communications Manager; as well as creating fundraising promotional material for print, newsletters, websites and other media as required
• Establishing transparent and open reporting protocols, working closely with the CEO and Finance Manager to meet the needs of financial reporting, forecasting, management accounts and the Annual Review
• Working closely with the CEO, Fundraising Manager and Board members, partners and supporters to develop partnerships and advocate for QES
• Working with the Project Manager to create and organise fundraising-specific activities and events
• Identifying commercial opportunities, nurturing and converting potential prospects in support of specific activities, projects and overheads
• Cultivating, building, optimising and managing relationships with existing and new funders, sponsors, partners and supporters
• Writing and compiling regular reports to funders, sponsors and partners as required

Your communications background will be at a major pension scheme, at an employer offering one or more such schemes, or in delivery of communications in other financial specialisms such as actuarial or insurance. Experience of membership organisations and/or some knowledge of the HE sector would be advantageous.

The postholder will have outstanding communication skills and the ability to prioritise and help deliver a complex and varied workload. 

The post is offered as full-time on a permanent contract and is hybrid, working at our offices in Bloomsbury, central London, as well as some remote working each week.

As a Housing Domestic Abuse Advocate, you will provide intervention, advocacy, and support to survivors of domestic abuse. Working within a fast-paced team, you will help empower women and ensure that the voice of survivors informs every stage of their journey towards improved safety. You will have your own caseload of survivors who hold social tenancies with local authorities or housing associations, and you will encourage them to engage with our service and ensure they have access to support. You will also co-ordinate the provision of multi-agency support which focuses on working with domestic abuse survivors to maintain their tenancies and prevent homelessness.

About You:

To be successful as the Domestic Abuse Housing Advocate you will need the below experience and skills:

You will bring solid experience of supporting women who have experienced domestic abuse in all its forms; coming from a sector with transferrable skills or possess a feminist/VAWG degree and be keen to learn and to train on the job. You will have a good understanding of violence against women and girls with a particular focus on the dynamics of domestic abuse (physical, emotional, and sexual abuse, so-called ‘honour-based violence’, forced marriage, stalking and harassment) and its impact on women, children, families, and communities. You will have proven skills and experience in conducting comprehensive assessments of needs and risk for survivors experiencing domestic abuse, including carrying out short risk management and safety planning. We will expect that you have experience in assessing the needs and safety of any children that women using the service may have and an understanding of the criminal justice system and relevant legislation with regard to legal and civil options, housing, benefits, matrimonial and children. Lastly you will bring your knowledge of safeguarding practice, procedures, and legislation.

With many skills and qualities to add to this role, if you have good IT literacy, data collection and monitoring these skills are maximised in your role. If you have experience or have been trained or are qualified in the fields related  to substance misuse, criminal jusice, law, social work or domestic abuse we would love to hear from you.

The Community Experience (CX) team ensures that The Charity’s wonderful community receives excellent customer service.  As part of this important team, you will contribute to providing an exemplary core operations function, over our busiest period, guaranteeing a high quality experience for our donors and supporters through their journey with the Charity. You will work on maintaining essential data streams between external sources and our database, as well as the relationships with both supporters and suppliers that underpin them.

Everything the team does is about ensuring CX excellence, from handling first communications and processing income, through to ensuring that an appropriate ‘thank you’ is received. Working closely with the Fundraising, Finance and IT teams, you will be responsible for ensuring data is imported and reconciled accurately on our database in the most efficient and effective way possible.

Who we’re looking for:

About the Role

The Finance & Administration Assistant is a newly created role that will provide various parts of the organisation with administrative support, as well as some receptionist duties. This dynamic role will sit within the Finance team and report to the Director of Finance, however it will directly support the areas of Administration, Finance, Fundraising, and three different Service Delivery functions.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

Administrative tasks

• Manage external communications through post, telephone and email, ensuring information is redirected to the relevant person to be dealt with efficiently and effectively.
• Support service/department managers with necessary purchasing.
•  Keep up to date record of monthly invoicing information for services and liaise between the Senior Finance Officer and the Service Managers to ensure this system is running efficiently and effectively.

Finance related tasks

•  Manage Petty Cash transactions on site, ensuring accurate and up to date records are kept at all times, and perform the bank runs.
• Collect and check monthly debit card and credit card reports with all necessary Purchase Invoices and PO’s from the card holders.
•  Assist the Finance Officer in processing expenditure: checking Purchase Invoices against PO’s, ensuring that all authorisations are in place, and posting expenditure on the QuickBooks database.
• Assist the Senior Finance Officer in sending out statements to overdue Debtors from QuickBooks.

Fundraising related tasks

• Process donation payments received via cheque, cash or PayPal and similar platforms onto the Beacon database.
•  Assist the Fundraising Manager in keeping the Beacon database up to date with donations/grants received, gift aid eligibility and forms, and grant contracts.
• Instigate periodic thank-you letters to donors.

• Developing regular and ad hoc reports that monitor fundraising efficacy
