The Advice Service Manager is responsible for overseeing the delivery of the Advice Service and for managing and developing the team of Advice Workers, including the Senior Advice Worker who leads on delivery.

The service operates predominantly from our Ipswich office, but the Advice Service Manager is also responsible for organising outreach services for asylum seekers and refugees elsewhere in Suffolk. Along with the Senior Advice Worker, they provide expert guidance to the team, as well as to other professionals working with refugees and asylum seekers.

The Advice Service Manager is part of the Management Team and plays a role in overseeing the function of the organisation and its strategic development, especially in relation to SRS’s Advice Service. They are also responsible for developing the Advice Service according to client/organisational needs and strategy.

The successful applicant will be required to have an enhanced DBS check to be carried out upon commencement of employment. You must be eligible to work in the UK.

The person in this role will strategically lead the Hospice lottery to maximise income through developing new approaches and increasing its profile whilst ensuing full Gambling Commission compliance. The role of the Lottery Manager is twofold – working with agencies and spotting promotional opportunities to acquire and recruit new players, whilst cherishing and valuing those we already have by thanking them and keeping them informed of the difference their support makes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement a strategy to ensure long term and sustainable growth of lottery income with support from the Head of Individual Giving.

• Working towards agreed KPIs and income targets for the lottery, by increasing membership and reducing attrition.

• To possess up-to-date and thorough operational familiarity with the Lottery Conditions and Codes of Practice outlined by the Gambling Commission (Gambling Act 2005) and to ensure adherence to these regulations in all work activities.

• To manage the lottery income and expenditure budgets, ensuring all activity meets income targets and expenditure remain on budget. 

• Develop our digital presence (website, social media, etc.) to source new acquisition and increase our local community’s awareness of the lottery.

• Be the main contact for the relationship with our canvassing companies, taking responsibility for the recruitment and training canvassers for the lottery, and for ensuring that our 3rd party providers deliver their KPIs in terms of recruitment numbers and attrition levels. 

• Be the ‘go to’ person for all lottery fundraising related matters from across the organisation.

• Work closely with the marketing team to contribute to the development of campaigns to increase lottery membership and income.

• Work closely with the Supporter Care team to ensure all lottery communications reflect our brand values and that weekly reports are completed to help the delivery of stewardship plans.

• Work closely with our Retail outlets both in terms of venues for potential members, and to ensure our lottery is promoted to all customers and supporters.

• Deliver the stewardship plan for our lottery players, from the point of sign up, spotting opportunities to retain and develop them further maximising the lifetime value of every supporter.

• Ensure that all communication with lottery supporters is captured through the Fundraising database CRM System (donorflex).

Person Specification: 

• Proven, long term track record of delivering successful income generation campaigns and activity in a business or charity – ideally relating to charity lotteries.

• Experience in a target driven environment like fundraising or sales. 

• Experience of working with marketing teams and other departments to support objective delivery.

• High level of specialist knowledge and experience in lottery income generating role. (Desirable)

• Strong analytical skills including evidence of data analysis and strategic planning; performance indicator tracking; finance and budget management.

• An understanding of the charity sector or Hospice Care.

• Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively and passionately – in person, by telephone and in writing.

Volunteering Matters and our work across Newcastle

Volunteering Matters is a social change charity, supporting communities to overcome adversity, tackle isolation and loneliness, improve mental and physical health, develop skills and opportunities, and ensure that people can lead change by volunteering. We passionately believe everyone in the UK should have the opportunity to thrive, and that volunteering changes lives.

We have been operating Volunteer Centre Newcastle (VCN) since 2005. VCN provides a wide range of support around all things volunteering to 1250+ charities, organisations, and groups across Newcastle. Each year, we also support 2000+ members of the public who are interested in volunteering and need support to get started.

We also lead the innovative Newcastle Volunteer Passport Scheme, and the Home from Hospital project which supports older people with their transition home following a hospital admission.

Newcastle Good Neighbours Project

We are working in partnership with Newcastle City Council, and other partners, to launch a new “Good Neighbours” project. We would all like to live in a place that has a sense of community, where people look out for their neighbours. This project aims to foster a feeling of positive wellbeing and independence for those who may be socially isolated, or who don’t have many people around them, giving that “little bit of help”.

The project will help people in the community feel safe, supported, and more able to live an independent life, whilst preventing, reducing and delaying the need for formal support through Adult Social Care. It will also provide people the opportunity to volunteer a little time, in a flexible way, to make a difference in their own community. We know volunteering can lead to enhanced skills, and positive wellbeing. Volunteers will provide practical or social support, completing “one-off’ or short-term tasks, supporting a neighbour. This may include things like grocery shopping, collecting prescriptions, driving someone to a GP appointment, helping with odd jobs around the house, light gardening, or checking in with someone for a cuppa and chat.

The role of Engagement Manager

You will lead the day-to-day delivery of the Good Neighbours project. Initially running as a 2-year pilot, we aim to attract and recruit as many volunteers as possible, whilst ensuring that people who could benefit from the service know about it, and can receive support quickly and easily.

The right person for this position would be someone with a good knowledge and understanding of “best practice” in Volunteer Management. It is essential that the postholder can work flexibly, is an excellent communicator, and can build strong working relationships with a range of people. In this role, you will:

• Work alongside other Volunteering Matters colleagues/projects in Newcastle, in a joined-up way, ensuring we attract volunteers to become a “Good Neighbour”

• Recruit, train, induct, and provide ongoing support to a network of “Good Neighbours” across Newcastle, ensuring each volunteer has a positive and rewarding experience

• Develop strong working relationships with colleagues within Newcastle City Council, and other partners and stakeholders, to raise the profile of the project as a new service locally

Specific responsibilities

An applicant appointed to the role will be expected to:

• Deliver engaging training to local and community stakeholders on renewable energy, heat and (potentially) storage technologies.

• Work with community actors to develop and deliver pro-active local engagement processes that build informed consent and support for renewables within their wider community.

• Support CSE’s fundraising activities and the development of new models and approaches for the provision of renewable energy, heat projects, and services at the local and community scale.
• Champion to key stakeholders (such as local authorities and funders) the roles which local and community organisations can play in catalysing and enabling renewable energy and local energy projects.
• Foster collaboration and deepening relationships with partners and other organisations who are active and interested in supporting similar areas of work. This might include local authorities, community organisations, community energy organisations, third sector organisations, developers, funders, investors and key supply chain actors.

Essential attributes for this role include:

• Have experience and knowledge of developing and/or delivering heat, renewable energy, or storage projects, including larger standalone renewables projects. 
• The ability to research and rapidly synthesise and share key understanding around different renewable technologies.
• Have excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to apply these appropriately to a wide range of people and to relay and translate technical information for non-technical audiences.
• Have a broad understanding of the UK energy system, and the transformations required to tackle the climate emergency.

Experience and Skills

·Knowledge of various social media channels and understanding of the granularity of audiences.

·Experience of using a range of multi-media tools (e.g., Canva, InDesign) to create engaging content to support fundraising campaigns, increase brand awareness, and help drive donations. 

·Knowledge of maximising sponsored campaigns and creating targeted posts (notably, on LinkedIn).

·An aptitude to work both independently and as part of a small team who all work remotely. 

·A sound knowledge of English (written and verbal).

·Copywriting experience would be beneficial.  

·Good communication and networking skills and an ability to liaise with multiple stakeholders.

·An ability to think both creatively and strategically.

·Experience working with and managing Google Ads/GDN

Primarily responsible for the management of an existing pipeline of a diverse pool of trusts and foundations, both existing and prospective, you will maximise philanthropic support for St Martin-in-the-Fields and its Trust. You will have:

• A proven track record in developing and writing high quality communications, (fundraising applications, proposals and impact reports).

Established by the community in 1977, CHAC is a busy neighbourhood advice centre in Manchester providing face-to-face advice and support to residents.

CHAC is a busy advice service working within a diverse community. Our mission is to improve the lives of those affected by polycystic kidney disease (PKD) through research, education, advocacy and support. PKD is one of the most common life-threatening genetic diseases, affecting about 70,000 adults and children in the UK. It causes kidney failure, affects other organs, reduces life expectancy and there is currently no cure. This remote role can be worked from anywhere in the UK, ideally over 2 days Monday-Friday. The salary for the role is £29,000-£31,000 (pro rata £11,600- £12,400). 

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES: 

Identify Funding Opportunities: Research trusts, foundations, and other funding bodies whose criteria align with PKD Charity’s work. Build a robust pipeline of potential funders. 

Craft Compelling Applications: Prepare, write, and submit high-quality, persuasive funding applications. Tailor proposals to meet each funder’s specific guidelines and highlight the charity’s unique impact. 

Data-Driven Case Development: Gather and analyse relevant information to create compelling cases for support, backed by data that showcases the impact of our programs. 

Relationship Management: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with current and prospective funders, ensuring consistent communication, appreciation, and donor care to foster long-term engagement. 

Expand Funding Pool: Utilise sector knowledge to identify and approach new funders, increasing the charity’s income streams and securing diverse funding sources. 

Progress Tracking and Reporting: Provide regular updates to the CEO on application progress, successful funding, and potential new opportunities. Develop and manage systems to monitor deadlines, submissions, income received, and application status. 

Donor Communication: Ensure funders are kept informed about the charity’s work, including submitting progress reports and impact updates that highlight the value of their contributions. 

Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with other colleagues, especially service delivery and finance, to ensure that information sharing and reporting are aligned and effective. 

ABOUT YOU: 

Proven Experience: You have a strong background in fundraising, particularly in trust and foundation grants, and are comfortable working independently in a remote setting. 

Organised and Detail-Oriented: You excel at managing multiple projects, meeting deadlines, and paying close attention to detail. 

Collaborative Team Player: You are flexible and ready to contribute to various aspects of the charity's work, embracing a team spirit. 

Effective Communicator: You possess excellent writing skills for creating compelling grant applications and are skilled at nurturing funder relationships through clear and professional communication. 

Tech-Savvy: Familiarity with CRM systems and website management is a plus, as is a proactive approach to automating processes where possible.

You’ll take the lead in creating a visitor engagement strategy that ensures an inspiring journey for our visitors, ensuring that experiences are educational, inspiring, and convey our brand purpose and mission. This will include curating and delivering an ambitious programme of events and activities, designed to captivate new audiences, teach and inspire communities, and foster lifelong advocates for nature. Key Responsibilities:

- Create Inspiring Visitor Experiences: Create a visitor engagement strategy including developing an engaging public events programme, providing a variety of activities from guided walks to craft workshop, and overseeing key messaging for the Trust, use of permanent and promotional signage on sites.

The Royal Parks (TRP) is a charity created in March 2017. We manage over 5,000 acres of diverse parkland, rare habitats and historic buildings and monuments in eight Royal Parks across London. The Role

As our Filming and Events Manager, you will manage filming and photography activities across our parks and green spaces.

Overseeing the filming office, you will handle inquiries, contracts and permits, whilst managing logistics and liaising with production teams and local stakeholders to ensure compliance with park regulations.

Ensuring high standards and effective project co-ordination, you will draft legal agreements, oversee unit base applications and, when needed, manage events to maintain a balanced use of park spaces.

Additionally, you will:

• Collaborate with the Communications, Marketing, and Engagement team to attract new filming opportunities
• Recommend and monitor fee structures, track revenue and support the Head of Events & Filming in achieving income targets
• Assess applications for health and safety
• Liaise with relevant authorities to ensure safe, organised filming activities

About You

To be considered as a Filming and Events Manager, you will need:

• Working knowledge of filming best practices and trends
• The ability to identify the complexities of holding filming shoots in The Royal Parks and consequently ensure standards are upheld during shoots
• Strong commercial acumen
• Effective communication, mediation and stakeholder engagement skills
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills

The Role 
 
As our Retail Support Manager, you will provide management cover at retail locations as required by the charity. Supporting the Retail Area Manager, you will manage the day-to-day operation of the shop that you are covering, including managing a team of volunteers, ensuring accurate accounting and handling of assets, delivering high standards of customer service, and adhering to all charity policies and procedures. You will lead by example and ensure that volunteers, supporters, donors, and customers understand how their contributions are making a difference to the lives of people in Yorkshire and beyond. 

Specifically, you will: 

• Provide management cover at Retail locations as required by the charity currently including (but not limited to Castleford, Heckmondwike, Selby, Leeds and Hull shops). This may also expand to include additional locations as the charity’s number of shops grows however depending on the role holder’s geographic location, we can agree which areas will be covered.

• Lead a team of volunteers to deliver an outstanding customer experience.

• Deliver any volunteer training required and make every effort to create a welcoming and happy environment. 

• Responsible for volunteer training and engagement, ensuring the volunteer management system is actively kept up to date in the absence of the Shop Manager.

• Ensure there is management cover and sufficient volunteers to operate all trading hours. 

• Ensure accurate accounting and handling of assets (items donated and money received). 

• Responsible for ensuring accurate record keeping of items donated and the amount paid for each item for Gift Aid tax reclaim purposes at each location. 

• Prepare and complete all shop administration including cash handling and banking functions to the highest standard, accurately and on time, always adhering to charity policy and procedures at each location. 

• Create a welcoming professional atmosphere and deliver high standards of customer service for all customers and supporters 

 
About You 

To be considered for this role, you will need: 

• To be ideally educated to A Level or equivalent. 

• To have experience of managing people/volunteers including recruitment and development.

• To have experience of meeting and exceeding targets within a retail environment 

• To be highly organised with good time management skills. 

• To be able to prioritise workload and meet deadlines. 

• To have excellent communication and interpersonal skills. 

• To be able to motivate self and others. 

• To have demonstrably strong planning, guiding and motivation skills to successfully achieve targeted income are desirable.
